The real estate industry is facing a major change. The activity based working is promoted heavily by real estate companies, brokers and consultants as the future workplace. Knowledge and information is however limited. Many concepts have a tendency to get mixed up when companies on the market choose to formulate their own concepts. The research is neglected, and more focused on health and design. This thesis focuses on describing how the market may evolve the knowledge and how to implement the activity based working in the workplaces.
The last decades the increased computerisation at the places of work has led to new physical loads in the working life and new demands on the working environment. The widespread usage of computers in the working life has led to more sedentary work and less daily movement.

The purpose of the thesis is to develop a new product to a concept that in a low intensive and healthy promotional way will activate the body. The product will make a combination of healthy promotion activity and work during office hours possible and primary aims to those with a sedentary office work, which leads to

Abstract:
The dorsal dentate gyrus (DDG) of the hippocampus plays a role in the expression of different forms of flexible behaviour mainly due to its ability to sustain neurogenesis throughout life. In the present thesis, we examined the role that the DDG and its adjacent areas, both collectively referred to as dorsal medial hippocampus (DMH), play in flexible, adaptive behaviour and cognitive processing. We used the neurotoxin, colchicine, to induce lesions of the DDG, which were found to affect neighbouring areas. Thus these lesions will be referred to as lesions of the DMH. In the first experiment, r

Introduction. The physical health benefits of sitting less and being more active are well documented. However, little is known about how sedentary behavior patterns, alone or in combination with physical activity, influence cognitive outcomes. In young university adults (i.e. 18-25 years old) an age group characterized by optimal cognitive functioning where academic achievement and cognitive control abilities are essential, research is even scarcer. In this context, this PhD thesis investigated the influence of sedentary behavior and physical activity on cognitive outcomes (working memor

This systematic review of literature explores the factors that facilitate professionals in working together to support vulnerable children and their families. Consideration is also given to factors which pose a barrier to effective multi-agency working. The review focuses on bringing together qualitative and quantitative data from a range of studies exploring a variety of established multiagency teams and community-wide projects in the UK and USA; a total of eight studies were included for in-depth review. Studies included for review investigated issues relating to professional working practic

Spotswood, F. M. "An ethnographic approach to understanding the place of leisure time physical activity in 'working class' British culture : implications for social marketing." Thesis, University of the West of England, Bristol, 2011. http://eprints.uwe.ac.uk/16929/.

Abstract:
Physical activity has a well understood set of benefits. UK leisure time physical activity (LTPA) is socially patterned, with lower socio-economic groups participating less. There is evidence from the literature that in addition to structural causes, there may be a ‘working class’ worldview of LTPA, which strongly influences their lack of participation. Thus, a theoretical approach for social marketers is advocated based on class culture. This approach, which centres on Bourdieu’s habitus, views problem behaviours in terms of class-based dispositions rather than individualistic intention, atti

One of the most common office designs is the traditional office. As the technology has developed, it has enabled a new office design to evolve, the activity-based office. The activity-based office is more flexible and the employees get greater freedom in terms of being able to decide where, when and how they want to perform their tasks. As the employees work largely independently and take own responsibility for their tasks, the leader has reduced control compared to the traditional office. To get a well-functioning activity-based workplace, trust must be created between the leader and employee

There is a growing consensus, based on several converging lines of evidence, which suggests schizophrenia is the product of a developmental insult occurring in the late 2 nd or early 3 rd trimester. Additionally, it has been observed that adults who abuse the noncompetitive NMDA antagonist PCP present with symptoms that mimic schizophrenia, such as hallucinations, formal thought disorder, delusions, unstable or flattened affect, social withdrawal, and impaired cognition. Thus, several labs have attempted to use early postnatal PCP administration in rodents as a drug model of schizophrenia. The

Abstract:
The fact that every organization is confronted with errors necessitates a thorough understanding of the factors that encourage employees to engage in behaviors that promote learning from errors. Putting reflective activity and two types of feedback seeking into the center of attention, this study addresses the question of whether perceived psychological safety indirectly relates to these behaviors through error orientation. A cross-sectional survey study was conducted on a convenience sample of 154 German and Swedish working students. Participants completed an online survey of their perception
