Abstract:
This article notes that most of the soil-cutting working bodies wear out their socks a lot, as a result of which their limiting state is reached. Despite the fact that other parts of the working body are still workable and the stock of metal for wear is still sufficient, the working body is completely rejected. In this regard, it is emphasized that increasing the durability of the nose parts leads to an increase in the durability of the entire working body. To determine its parameters, the condition for leveling the resources of socks and other parts of the soil-cutting working bodies is considered. When determining the length of the nose of the bits, an analytical dependence is recommended, taking into account the geometric parameters of the bit and the plowshares welded to it. To obtain self-sharpening in the process of bit nose wear, it is recommended to use a new two-faceted profile. The rational values of the length, the angle of the wedge and the sharpening of the nose are determined, equal to 90 mm, 100 and 350-400, respectively. Based on the condition of rational combinations of strength and self-sharpening characteristics of the toes of bits, the thickness and width of the latter were determined, equal to 22.3 mm and 30 mm, respectively.

Abstract:
We measured a series of six duckfoot shares in the years 1999–2000. The purpose of the research project resulted from the Grant EP7111 and the Research project MSM J06/98:122200002/I. We described forces affecting machine implements and we consequently calculated measuring resistances during the ploughing. The deeper the subterranean the higher the linear growth of forces. If the subterranean rises from eight to ten centimetres, it will appear an increase in forces of 59.61 in the horizontal plane and of 30.84 in the vertical plane. If the driving speed increases from 5.91 km/h to 11.38 km/h, i.e. 1.64 m/s to 3.16 m/s, the forces will intensify to 53.11 in the horizontal plane and to 25.8 in the vertical plane. We deducted an outstanding influence of soil moisture on the resistance of the duckfoot shares at all three stages.

Abstract:
The work is devoted to the issue of improving the quality of cultivating of root-bearing soil layer and optimizing its agrotechnological properties. Improving the quality of cultivation is due to the application of soil cultivating tools equipped with disk-knife working bodies. They are provided theoretical and experimental study of the work of the disk-knife working body, and it is substantiated its rational parameters. The basis of the substantiation of the parameters of the cultivating tool is the original analytical model, which reflects the process of interaction of the working body with the soil. To study the performance of the process, on the basis of kinematic equations of motion of the individual points of the working bodies, it is developed the analytical model of the motion of the battery of the working bodies. On the basis of the provided analytical researches, they were determined geometrical parameters and developed experimental samples of the disk-knife working body. It was carried out a comparative test in the field of tools equipped with disk-knife working bodies and with standard spherical cut-off discs, which confirmed the effectiveness of the use of disk-knife working bodies. The use of disk-knife working bodies ensures: the burying of plant remains and fertilizers into the root-bearing soil layer, improving the quality of soil cultivation, preserving of its structure, reducing the traction resistance of the body.

Abstract:
Purpose: To determine the parameters of detached rock packs with compensating voids. Methodology: Analysis of technologies for the protection of development workings, based on the management of the stress-strain state of rocks around the workings, physical modeling using equivalent materials, numerical modeling by the finite element method, and methods of structural mechanics. Results: In the conditions of soft soil rocks the expediency of application of protection means based on management of a stress-strain condition in a surrounding massif and redirection of extrusion forces from a working has been substantiated. On the basis of analysis of the existing protection measures of the workings behind faces the prospects of use of protection technologies by means of construction of detached rock packs with limiting surfaces between which there are compensatory voids left, have been proved. To determine the parameters of such packs and voids between them in the conditions of soft soil rocks, a set of laboratory and numerical studies has been performed. According to their results, it has been established that to ensure the redirection of extrusion forces from the working it is necessary to build rock packs with limiting surfaces in the form of rectangular parallelepipeds with orientation of their greater side perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of production and trapezoidal prisms with their narrower orientation towards the working. Recommendations on the parameters of these structures and compensatory voids between them in the conditions of soft soil rocks have been formulated. Scientific novelty: On the basis of numerical modeling the regularities of stress distribution in rocks under detached rock packs of different shapes have been investigated, which allowed substantiating the parameters of the last and compensatory voids between them to ensure the stability of workings in the soft soil rocks. Practical significance: The expediency of application of technologies of protection of preparatory workings behind faces in the conditions of soft soil rocks by means of rock packs with limiting surfaces between which there are compensatory voids has been proved, and their parameters have been defined.

The horizontal deformation of drawing knife blade in working stroke is analyzed by the finite element software ABAQUS. The research which effect law of the feed, structural sizes of cutter rod and sizes of cutter guiding rod on position deformation of broaching blade in working stroke given quantitative relationship between parameters of processing craft and structure and cutting precision. The selection method and way of processing parameters and structural parameters to improve broaching precision of keyway broaching machine are obtained. The research work provides relevant technological basis for the design of high precision keyway broaching machine.

Abstract:
In the text, the investigastion and optimization of a Thermoelectric generator-based system, under different conditions, has been studied. The investigation aim is to obtain the characteristic parameters of the system: the Seebeck coeff.(α), the Thomson coeff. (τ), the Heat transferred to the Thermoelectric generators (Qh) and the electrical conversion (η). The system is built using four resistive elements as heating system, fed by a controllable generator, and forced circulating air as heat sink. The heat flow, from the source to the sink, passes through a hot heat exchanger, the thermoelectric generators, and the cold heat exchanger. The two heat exchangers are designed in order to have the best heat exchange at each surface; this is obtained by creating a planar and compact are where the heat flow is primarly conduction-type, and providing a finned and wide surface where the heat flow is primarly convection-type. The circulation of air at the heat sink is obtained through the utilization of two fans. Utilizing the open-circuit data, the Seebeck coefficient, the Peltier coefficient, and the Thomson coefficient have been calculated, obtaining values of 187.7 μV/K,0.065 W/A,-0.043 V/K, respectively, at an average temperature of 345.731 K and temperature difference of 72.486 K. It’s been shown that the temperature range, explored with the system built, does cover the point in which the Seebeck effect has its max-value and, following, that such point does not match with the max efficiency point. Utilizing the controllable load-test data, macroscopic thermoelectric parameters as heat flows, electrical otuput power and electrical conversion efficiency, have been calculated. In the best condition occured, results as 144.538 W, 1.829 W,1.265 % have been measured for Qh, Pout, η, respectively, at an average temperature of 367.078 K and temperature difference of 103.418 K. All graphs show that the results are in strong agreement with the reported literature.

Abstract:
This thesis deals with lasers, their general theory and application. Then a theoretical part describes laser micromachining and engraving. Experimental part of thesis deals with several experiments performed by powered fibre laser which is not primarily intended for the field of micromachining. Experiments were mainly evaluated by several types of microscopes where the amount of removed material was appraised. By particular experiments removed material was in accordance with used working parameters of laser and a significant role plays machining material. It emerges from the experiments that for the field of laser micromachining and engraving shorter pulses are more suitable (minimal pulse duration was 1 ms in experiment) and it is connected even with a way of removing material. Applied powered laser can be used for micromachining in specific fields of production.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of an agile way of working at an IT organization in a context of a surrounding and otherwise manufacturing industrial organization, when it comes to software development projects. Thus the study aims to answer whether to what extent agile methodologies are manifested at an IT organization, what is demanded of the IT organization in order to follow agile values and principles, and whether it is possible to develop software according to agile values and principles in an IT organization in the above mentioned context. The study has been carried out as a case study at a case company where an IT organization, within a larger organization, was investigated. The study consisted of a pre-study, a literature review and an empirical study followed by analysis of the gathered data. The pre-study aimed to give the authors relevant insights into the case company as well as to the available academic literature. During the pre-study eight initial interviews were conducted, at the case company, among project managers, methodology experts and group managers. The pre-study was used in order to define and refine the scope of this study. From this the authors investigated literature relevant to their findings in the pre-study and to the scope. The literature review was used to formulate the theoretical framework of this study. The theoretical framework is mainly based on academic journals complemented by various publications and books. The empirical study was conducted by investigations of four software development projects, at the case company. Here nine interviews were conducted among the project managers, customers of the projects, and with managers of the IT organization. The empirical study have then been analyzed using the theoretical framework in order to form the conclusions of this report. The theory presents benefits, drawbacks and demands when it comes to agile methodologies in software development. The importance of support from the IT department, and from the customer, to a project is especially highlighted in literature. The empirical study presents findings of both agile and non-agile projects operating in the above mentioned organization. Several advantages and drawbacks have been identified regarding agile projects in the organization. Also hinders for an agile way of working, in the form or organizational demands, extensive processes, limited support and customer commitment have also been seen. While benefits regarding agile projects can be identified, in the context of an IT organization functioning within a larger industrial manufacturing organization, several drawbacks and hinders are also prominent. The analysis show agile values and principles manifested in the IT organization agile practices are harder to identify. It is also seen that an organization should strive for agility on several organizational levels in order to support an agile way of working. Regarding the surrounding organization an agile way of working is seen to be possible. Furthermore several benefits are identified, for a customer, when it comes to agile projects. However agile methodologies are also seen to be demanding when it comes to time, commitment and external support. Putting this in the context of an IT organization developing business support systems for a surrounding organization the benefits, while still prominent, can be further discussed.

Abstract:
Clinicians are becoming increasingly aware of the effect of various pathologies on the characteristics of saccadic eye movements. As such, an efficient and non-invasive means of measuring eye-movement in a clinical environment is of interest to many. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the clinical application of a non-invasive eye movement recording technique as a part of a clinical examination. Eye movements were measured using an IRIS 6500 infrared limbal eye tracker, which we customized for the direct recording of oblique eye movements as well as horizontal and vertical. Firstly, the eye-tracker itself was assessed. Visually normal observers made saccadic eye movements to a 10' stimulus in eight directions of gaze. Primary (ANOVA) and secondary analyses (mean error less than 5%) resulted in acceptance that averaging four measurements would give a representative measurement of saccadic latency, peak velocity, amplitude and duration. Test-retest results indicated that this technique gives statistically (± 1.96*STDEVDifference) repeatable responses. Several factors that could potentially influence clinically based measures of eye-movements were examined. These included, the effect of ageing, viewing distances, dioptric blur and cataract. The results showed that saccadic latency and duration are significantly (p < 0.05) longer in older (60-89 years) observers compared to younger (20-39 years). Peak velocity and amplitude were not significantly affected by the age of the observer. All saccadic parameters (SP) were significantly affected by direction (Chapter 5). The compact nature of this eye movement methodology is obtainable since there is no significant effect on viewing distance (300 cm vs. 49 cm) (Chapter 6). There is also no significant effect of dioptric blur (up to +LOODS) on any of the four SP. In contrast, a higher level of defocus (+3.O ODS) has a larger probability of interfering with the measurements of peak velocity and duration (Chapter 7). Saccadic eye-movements were also recorded whilst normally sighted subjects wore cataract simulation goggles. The results suggested that the presence of dense cataract introduces significant increases in saccadic latencies and durations. No effect was found on the peak velocities and amplitudes. The effect of amblyopia on SP was also investigated in order to examine if this methodology is able to detect normal from abnormal responses (i.e. increased saccadic latencies). This set of data (Chapter9 ) showed that using IRIS 6500, longer than normal latencies may be recorded from the amblyopic eye but no consistent effect was found for the other SP (peak velocity, amplitude, duration). Overall, the results of this thesis demonstrate that the IRIS 6500 eye-tracker has many desirable elements (it is non-invasive; comfortable for the observers and gives repeatable and precise results in an acceptable time) that would potentially make it a useful clinical tool as a part of a routine examination.

Дисертація присвячена вирішенню комплексної науково-технічної задачі технологічного забезпечення формування параметрів мікротопографії робочих поверхонь та експлуатаційних властивостей кілець роликопідшипників шляхом застосування прогресивних викінчувально-вигладжувальних операцій. На основі розробленої моделі динаміки формоутворення мікрорельєфу робочих поверхонь кілець встановлені зв’язки між амплітудно-частотними характеристиками динамічної системи формоутворення вигладжувальної технологічної системи і параметрами точності та мікрогеометричними параметрами поверхонь після вигладжування. Розроблено прогресивну технологію комбінованого оброблення робочих поверхонь кілець роликопідшипників на основі чорнового шліфування та алмазного вигладжування, що дозволило зменшити енерговитрати технологічного процесу виготовлення кілець роликопідшипників та зменшити собівартість підшипника з одночасним підвищенням показників якості оброблених деталей. За результатами експериментальних та теоретичних досліджень розроблено алгоритм і програму проектування технологічної операції вигладжування робочих поверхонь кілець роликопідшипників для умов підшипникового виробництва з отриманням основних показників режиму вигладжування.
Диссертация посвящена решению комплексной научно-технической задачи технологического обеспечения формирования параметров микротопографии рабочих поверхностей и эксплуатационных свойств колец роли-коподшипников путем применения прогрессивных финишных выглаживальных операций. На основе разработанной модели динамики формообразования микрорельефа рабочих поверхностей колец установлены связи между амплитудно-частотными характеристиками динамической системы формообразова-ния выглаживальной технологической системы и параметрами точности и микрогеометрическими параметрами поверхностей после выглаживания. Разработано прогрессивную технологию комбинированного обработки рабочих поверхностей колец роликоподшипников на основе чернового шлифования и алмазного выглаживания, что позволило уменьшить энергозатраты технологического процесса изготовления колец роликоподшипни-ков и уменьшить себестоимость подшипника с одновременным повышением показателей качества обработанных деталей. По результатам экспериментальных и теоретических исследований разработан алгоритм и программа проектирования технологической операции выглаживания рабочих поверхностей колец роликоподшипников для условий подшипникового производства с получением основных показателей режима выглаживания. Диссертация состоит из введения, пяти разделов, выводов, списка использованной литературы и приложений. В первом разделе рассмотрены особенности современного методоло-гического подхода к технологическому обеспечению поверхностей колец роликоподшипников. В частности анализируется влияние технологических факторов финишных операций на параметры качества рабочих поверхностей колец роликоподшипников, рассмотрены особенности формирования геометрических и физико-механических параметров поверхностей качения колец в технологическом цикле изготовления подшипников. Рассмотрено значение укрепляющей выглаживальной технологий в обеспечении параметров качества поверхностей деталей, осуществлен обзор известных схем и материалов инструмента для укрепляющих выглаживальных операций поверхностей качения роликоподшипников. Во втором разделе проведен анализ механизма формирования мик-ротопографии рабочих поверхностей на финишных операциях. Выявлено влияние технологических факторов на формирование поверхностного слоя рабочих поверхностей колец. Установлено, что основными параметрами выглаживания, влияю-щими на шероховатость, являются: сила выглаживания, подача и радиус рабочей части инструмента. При увеличении силы выглаживания до опре-деленного значения шероховатость уменьшается. В третьем разделе рассмотрены теоретические предпосылки, тех-нологические особенности и разработана математическая модель фор миро-вания шероховатости поверхности на укрепляющих выглаживальних опера-циях. В четвертом разделе приведены результаты экспериментальных ис-следований процесса выглаживания поверхностей качения колец с целью разработки методики моделирования параметров формообразования микро-рельефа поверхностей обрабатываемых деталей для управления процессом формообразования. В пятом разделе реализовано результаты теоретических и экспери-ментальных исследований в виде предложенной инженерной методики для финишной обработки рабочих поверхностей колец роликоподшипников.
Dissertation is sacred to the decision of complex scientific and technical task of the technological providing of forming of parameters of micro-topography of working surfaces and operating properties the rings of roller-bearings by application of progressive finished-smoothing operations. On the basis of the worked out model of dynamics of form-making of micro-relief of working surfaces of rings the set copulas are between the gain-frequency characteristics of the dynamic system of form-making of smoothing of the technological system and parameters of exactness and micro-geometry parameters of surfaces after pressing. Progressive technology of the combined treatment of working surfaces of rings of roller-bearings is worked out on the basis of the draft polishing and diamond pressing which allowed to decrease energy consumption of technological process of making the rings of roller-bearings and decrease a prime bearing price with the simultaneous increase of indexes the quality of the treated details. On results experimental and theoretical researches an algorithm and program of planning the technological operation of pressing of working surfaces the rings of roller-bearings is worked out for the terms of bearing production with the receipt of basic indexes of the pressing mode.

Захищаються встановлені закономірності інтенсивного навантаження слаб-ких шаруватих порід боків виробки з боку двох утворень підвищеної жорстокості – зміцненої анкерами армопородної вантажонесучої плити в покрівлі й цілісного ви-сокоміцного вугільного пласта, у результаті чого активно проявляється так званий «ефект штампа», коли знеміцнені від концентрацій напружень слабкі породи в бо-ках виробки видавлюються в її порожнину, деформуючи стояки рамного кріплен-ня; із цієї причини виявлене стабільне утворення в стояках рами великих областей пластичного стану їх матеріалу (у районі опор стояків довжиною до 0,5-0,6 м і в районі п'яти склепіння довжиною 0,8-0,9 м) незалежно від структури прилеглих порід, площі перерізу виробки й застосовуваного номера спецпрофілю СВП рам-ного кріплення. Виявлено основну причину – роздільну роботу анкерів і рам по опору проявам гірського тиску. Доведено, що завдяки просторово-піддатливим зв'язкам анкерів і рам у єдиній вантажонесучій системі підтримується процес са-морегулювання навантаження на основні несучі елементи (зміцнені породи, раму й анкери), у результаті якого вантажонесуча система в цілому наближається до ре-сурсозберігаючого стану рівноміцності елементів, адаптуючись у просторі до збу-рювань гірського тиску. Розробленим методом розрахунку параметрів рамно-анкерного кріплення, аналітичними й експериментальними дослідженнями доведена можливість зни-ження металоємності рамного кріплення до 30% за рахунок створення просторо-во-піддатливих зв’язків з анкерами. Розроблена методика розрахунку, яка поєднує прогноз проявів гірського тиску (з вибором рамного кріплення) з розрахунком самих механічних зв’язків і вузлів їх кріплення на анкерах і рамах. Дослідно-промислові випробування удо-сконаленої конструкції рамно-анкерного кріплення проведені на шахтах ПАТ «Павлоградвугілля».
Защищаются установленные закономерности интенсивного нагружения слабых слоистых пород боков выработки со стороны двух образований повы-шенной жесткости – упрочненной анкерами армопородной грузонесущей плиты в кровле и целостного высокопрочного угольного пласта, в результате чего активно проявляется так называемый «эффект штампа», когда разупрочненные от концен-траций напряжений слабые породы в боках выработки выдавливаются в ее по-лость, деформируя стойки рамной крепи; по этой причине выявлено стабильное образование в стойках рамы обширных областей пластического состояния их ма-териала (в районе опор стоек длиной до 0,5-0,6 м и в районе пяты свода длиной 0,8...0,9 м) независимо от структуры близлежащих пород, площади сечения выра-ботки и применяемого номера спецпрофиля СВП рамной крепи. Выявлена основ-ная причина – раздельная работа анкеров и рам по сопротивлению проявлениям горного давления. Доказано, что благодаря пространственно-податливым связям боковых анкеров и стоек рам в единой грузонесущей системе поддерживается процесс саморегулирования нагрузки на основные несущие элементы (упрочнен-ные породы, раму и анкера), в результате которого грузонесущая система в целом приближается к ресурсосберегающему состоянию равнопрочности элементов, адаптируясь в пространстве к возмущениям горного давления. Впервые разработана модель системы «массив-рама-анкер» с учетом пол-ных диаграмм деформирования каждой литологической разности, а также конеч-но-элементного построения реальных геометрических параметров рамной крепи (включая имитаторы замков податливости), сталеполимерных анкеров, механи-ческих связей и условий их силового взаимодействия. Комплексом вариантов расчета НДС усовершенствованной рамно-анкерной крепи доказано не только полное исключение областей пластического состояния материала в стойках рамы, но и формирование достаточно равномерного поля напряжений по ее контуру с обеспечением более, чем двукратного запаса прочности даже при использовании облегченного спецпрофиля СВП-19. Опытно-промышленными испытаниями усо-вершенствованной рамно-анкерной крепи установлено снижение перемещений боков выработки в 4,0 раза на уровне пяты свода и в 4,97 раза в районе опор сто-ек рам. Разработанным методом расчета параметров рамно-анкерной крепи, вы-числительными и шахтными исследованиями доказана возможность снижения металлоемкости рамной крепи до 30% за счет объединения стоек с боковыми ан-керами пространственно-податливыми связями. Разработана методика расчета, которая соединяет прогноз проявлений гор-ного давления (с выбором рамного крепления) с расчетом самих механических связей и узлов их крепления на анкерах и рамах. Опытно-промышленные испы-тания усовершенствованной конструкции рамно-анкерного крепления проведены на шахтах ПАО «Павлоградуголь».
New determination of current scientific-technical task of resource-saving management of rock pressure manifestation in the development workings of Western Donbas mines is presented due to “massif-frame-bolt” condition self-adjustment and provision of adaptive modes of frame-bolt support resistance that has spatial yieldable interelement connection. Established laws weak layered rock’s of a mine workings walls intensive load are defended from the side of two increased – reinforced by bolts of fibercrete load-bearing plate in roof and solid high-strength coal seam resulting in so-called “stamp effect”, when loosened from strain concentrations weak rocks in walls are squeezed out into its cavity and thus deforming frame support’s props; for this reason, stable formation of wide areas with plastic state in the frame’s props material (in the area of props with length up to 0.5-0.6 m and in area of the canopy’s lower part with length of 0.8-0.9 m) regardless near located rocks, cross-cut section of the working and applied special profile of support – SVP. Major reason is revealed – seperate work the bolts and frames of resistance to rock pressure manifistations. It is proved that due to spatial-yieldable connections of bolts and frames in single load-bearing system, a process of load self-control on the bearing elements is sustained (reinforced rocks, frame and bolt), consequently load-bearing system, in general, approaches resource-saving state of the elements equal strength, adapting in space to rock pressure manifistations. Possibility of frame support metal consumption to 30% due to creation of spatial yieldable connections with the bolts is proved by analytical and experimental parameters and developed frame-bolt support calculation method. Calculation methodology lop that connects forecast of rock pressure manifestations (with frame support selection) with calculation of mechanical links and joints of their fixing on bolts and frames is developed. Experimental-industrial tests of improved bolt-frame support construction are conducted at mines of PJSC “Pavlogradugol”.

U okviru rada, prikazane suteorijske osnove parametara mikroklime, buke i osvetljenja, kao injihov teorijski uticaj na generisanje i razmentu toplotne energijeizmeđu čoveka i okoline. Rad obuhvata istraživanje međuzavisnostiproučavanih parametara, toplotnog osećaja i toplotnog komforačoveka na radnom mestu u poziciji stajanja.
This paper examines the influence of the parameters of microclimate, noiseand lighting on the thermal sensation and thermal comfort in the workingenvironment. There is a constant interaction between a person and hisenvironment, which can cause physiological disorders in the organism. In theframework of this paper, the theoretical bases of the parameters ofmicroclimate, noise and lighting, as well as their theoretical influence on thegeneration and exchange of heat energy between person and environmentare presented. The paper encompasses research on the interdependence ofthe parameters studied for thermal sensation and the thermal comfort of aperson at the workplace in a standing position.

Установлено, що показники напружено-деформованого стану гірничого масиву техногенної зони мають прямо пропорційну залежність від відстані до вибою лави, параметрів опорного тиску і їх часового суміщення, а також від структурної будови масиву. Досліджені закономірності впливу технологічних процесів при перетині техногенних зон на зміну напряму вектора дії згинаючого моменту в породах покрівлі з позитивного значення на від’ємний за рахунок збільшення ширини виробки та робочого простору лави, що рухається. В результаті впровадження технологічних рекомендацій проходження очисними роботами техногенної зони пласта 2-ї північної лави шахти «Краснолиманська» економічний ефект склав 10,125 млн. грн.
Диссертация посвящена определению параметров технологии перехода очистными высокопроизводительными механизированными комплексами техногенных зон, которые образуются вокруг горной выработки на пути ее подвигания. При современных параметрах выемочных столбов возникает необходимость перехода очистными механизированными комплексами техногенных зон, образованных горными выработками. Эти выработки находятся в неудовлетворительном состоянии из-за значительной деформации породного контура и металлического крепления. Техногенные зоны являются аномальными геомеханическими препятствиями для очистного забоя. При этом лава пересекает три зоны более мелкого порядка с разной плотностью и напряженно-деформированным состоянием. Дана качественная и количественная оценка влияния техногенных зон вмещающих пород на управление состоянием массива при ведении очистных работ в выемочном поле. Определены возможные варианты формирования и расположения техногенных зон на пути подвигания очистных работ, а также разработана их классификация. Установлено, что напряженно-деформированное состояние техногенной зоны имеет прямо пропорциональную зависимость от расстояния до забоя лавы, параметров опорного давления и времени их совмещения, а также от структурного строения горного массива. Получены закономерности влияния технологических процессов на изменение вектора действия изгибающего момента в породах кровли с положительного значения на отрицательное за счет совмещения ширины выработки и рабочего пространства лавы при переходе техногенной зоны. Дана оценка влияния угольного целика, расположенного между забоем и выработкой на уровень деформаций и напряжений в массиве при совмещении опорных зон лавы и техногенной зоны. Установлено, что опускание пород кровли на контакте с забоем увеличивается по полиноминальной зависимости от размеров целика, находящегося между забоем и выработкой. Это приводит к увеличению нормальных напряжений в целике, опусканию пород кровли впереди забоя и поднятию почвы угольного пласта. С приближением очистного забоя к техногенной зоне показатели ее геомеханического состояния увеличиваются, находясь в прямо пропорциональной зависимости от высоты и ширины выработки. На сопряжении ходка с откаточным штреком максимальные опускания кровли и поднятия почвы увеличиваются в 2 раза. Увеличение нормальных напряжений и интенсивность их распределения в опорной зоне выработки находятся в прямо пропорциональной зависимости от расстояния до очистного забоя. На сопряжении очистного забоя с подготовительной выработкой в кровле пласта нормальные напряжения увеличиваются нелинейно увеличению угла встречи забоя с выработкой по полиноминальной зависимости. В результате внедрения технологических рекомендаций перехода очистными работами техногенной зоны по пласту 2-й северной лавы шахты «Краснолиманская», экономический эффект составил 10,125 млн. грн.
The dissertation is dedicated to technology parameters of high productive face complexes crossing of technogenic zones that form around mine working during the longwall advance. It is established that stress-strain state of technogenic zone rock massif has directly proportional dependence on distance from the longwall face, parameters of abutment pressure and their time deposition, and also on the structure of the massif. The dependences are gained as to technogenic processes influence on vector direction change of bending moment action during technogenic zones crossing in roof rocks from positive value to negative due to combination of the mine working width and longwall working space that advances. As a result of introduction of technological recommendations for stoping of technogenic zone of seam at 2-nd north longwall of “Krasnolimans’ka” mine, the economic effect made up 1.6-2.3 mln. UAH.

Currently, wood waste in the form of a dissected crown on the ground and the root fraction of the tree's biomass in the ground remain in felling areas, becoming potentially dangerous combustible materials in the event of forest fires, as well as obstacles to reforestation activities, and possible foci of infections. Shredding wood waste into wood chips will solve the problem of their disposal by using fuel chips as an additional source of heat energy. In the present work, the influence of design and operational parameters of milling machines with a modernized hydraulic system and equipped with active working bodies on the process of shredding wood waste is established. The annual economic effect from the introduction of the developed complex of wood waste shredding machines and economic indicators from the use of fuel chips are given. This publication is intended for undergraduates and postgraduates engaged in scientific research in the field of forestry mechanization.

This chapter examines the parameters and structure of Salvador's sex tourism industry. Drawing on ethnographic interviews with tour guides and tourism industry workers, it explores the complexities of tourism, race, and sexuality in Salvador. The chapter begins by considering issues of class as they relate to Italian tourists. It then discusses the ways in which sex tourism has been defined and understood in academic scholarship, in the popular media, in government anti–sex tourism campaigns, and by interviewees. It also probes how the Brazilian government defines sex tourism as a manifestation of child sexual exploitation and assesses the perspectives of tour guides and tourism industry workers about how sex tourism operates in Salvador. Finally, it presents case studies that illustrate how Italian men are constructed as the quintessential sex tourists as well as how discourses of class status distinguish who may be considered a sex tourist.

Aspect is one of the parameters used in the preparation of landslide susceptibility maps. The procedure of this easily accessible and conclusive parameter is still a matter of debate in the literature. Each landslide area has its own morphological structure, so it is not possible to make a generalization for the aspect. In other words, there is no aspect in which landslides develop in particular. Generally, landslides occur in areas facing more than one direction. The biggest reason for this is that those areas are under the influence of other parameters. Therefore, it is wrong to evaluate the aspect, alone. Since it is a part of the system, it should be evaluated together with other conditioning factors. In this research, many landslides susceptibility studies have been investigated. The directions and causes of landslides have been determined from the studies. In addition, the criteria of the used aspect classes have been investigated. In the literature, the number of class intervals chosen, and their reasons were investigated, and the effects of this parameter were tried to be revealed in new sensitivity studies.

To assure the accuracy and safety of radiation delivery, it is highly recommended to perform pretreatment verification for complex treatment methods such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) or volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) to detect any potential errors in the treatment planning process and machine deliverability. It is expected that a qualified medical physicist is aware of the underlying scientific principles of imaging and therapeutic processes to perform or supervise technical aspects of pretreatment procedures to ensure safe and effective delivery of the treatment. For this purpose, several guidelines have been published to help direct medical physicists to evaluate the accuracy of treatment planning system (TPS) in the calculation of radiation dose, and dosimetry equipment to avoid possible errors. This will require a clear understanding of abilities as well as the limitations of each TPS, the dosimetry equipment at hand, and the gamma index to perform a comprehensive pre-treatment verification.

Simply estimating pesticide effects on natural enemies of pests by measuring only lethal effects, or sublethal effects on the only treated natural enemies, may underestimate the total negative effects on them. So sublethal effects on subsequent generations should be assessed to estimate the total effects of their applications. Sublethal effects of commonly used acaricides on population growth parameters, life table parameters, and predation of the predatory mites of the family phytoseiidae were investigated. For this reason, offspring of treated females were used. Gross reproductive rate (GRR), the intrinsic rate of birth (b), the intrinsic rate of death (d), mean generation time (T), survivorship (Lx), life expectancy (ex), and prey consumption were affected in comparison with control. It could be concluded that sublethal concentrations of most applied pesticides can significantly reduce population growth and life table parameters, and this should be considered in integrated pest management (IPM) programs.

Abstract:
We develop and estimate a model of child care markets that endogenizes both demand and supply. On the demand side, families with a child make consumption, labor supply, and child-care decisions within a static, unitary household model. On the supply side, child care providers make entry, price, and quality decisions under monopolistic competition. Child development is a function of the time spent with each parent and at the child care center; these inputs vary in their impact. We estimate the structural parameters of the model using the 2003 Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, which contains information on parental employment and wages, child care choices, child development, and center quality. We use our estimates to evaluate the impact of several policies, including vouchers, cash transfers, quality regulations, and public provision. Among these, a combination of quality regulation and vouchers for working families leads to the greatest gains in average child development and to a large expansion in child care use and female labor supply, all at a relatively low fiscal cost.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the phenomenon of augmented reality (AR) in education. AR is a new technology that complements the real world with the help of computer data. Such content is tied to specific locations or activities. Over the last few years, AR applications have become available on mobile devices. AR becomes available in the media (news, entertainment, sports). It is starting to enter other areas of life (such as e-commerce, travel, marketing). But education has the biggest impact on AR. Based on the analysis of scientific publications, the authors explored the possibilities of using augmented reality in education. They identified means of augmented reality for teaching computer science at school. Such programs and services allow students to observe the operation of computer systems when changing their parameters. Students can also modify computer hardware for augmented reality objects and visualize algorithms and data processes. The article describes the content of author training for practicing teachers. At this event, some applications for training in AR technology were considered. The possibilities of working with augmented reality objects in computer science training are singled out. It is shown that the use of augmented reality provides an opportunity to increase the realism of research; provides emotional and cognitive experience. This all contributes to engaging students in systematic learning; creates new opportunities for collaborative learning, develops new representations of real objects.

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL)/Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) Joint Task Force on Research Data Services (RDS) formed in 2020 with a two-fold purpose: (1) to demonstrate and commit to the roles research libraries have in stewarding research data and as part of institution-wide research support services and (2) to guide the development of resources for the ARL and CARL memberships in advancing their organizations as collaborative partners with respect to research data services in the context of FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) data principles and the US National Academies’ Open Science by Design framework. Research libraries will be successful in meeting these objectives if they act collectively and are deeply engaged with disciplinary communities. The task force formed three working groups of data practitioners, representing a wealth of expertise, to research the institutional landscape and policy environment in both the US and Canada. This report of the ARL/CARL RDS task force’s working group on partnerships highlights library RDS programs’ work with partners and stakeholders. The report provides a set of tools for libraries to use when assessing their RDS partnerships, including assessing partnerships using a partnership life cycle, defining the continuum of possible partnerships, and creating a catalog. Not all partnerships will last the entirety of a librarian’s career, and having clear parameters for when to continue or sunset a partnership can reduce ambiguity and free up resources. Recognizing the continuum of possible partnerships can provide the framework by which librarians can understand the nature of each group. From cyclical to seasonal to sporadic, understanding the needs of a type of partnership can help libraries frame their understanding and meet a group where they are. Finally, creating a catalog of partnerships can help libraries see the landscape of the organization, as well as areas for growth. This approach also aligns with OCLC’s 2020 report on Social Interoperability in Research Support: Cross-Campus Partnerships and the University Research Enterprise, which highlights the necessity of building and stewarding partnerships. Developing and providing services in a decentralized organization relies on the ability to build trusted relationships. These tools will help libraries achieve sustainable growth that is in concert with their partners, generating robust, clearly aligned initiatives that benefit all parties, their campuses, and their communities.

The main recommendations of the panel report can be summarised under five key headings. Underpinning all five areas is the recognition that human narratives remain crucial for ensuring the widest access to our shared past. There is no wish to see political and economic narratives abandoned but the need is recognised for there to be an expansion to more social narratives to fully explore the potential of the diverse evidence base. The questions that can be asked are here framed in a national context but they need to be supported and improved a) by the development of regional research frameworks, and b) by an enhanced study of Scotland’s international context through time. 1. From North Britain to the Idea of Scotland: Understanding why, where and how ‘Scotland’ emerges provides a focal point of research. Investigating state formation requires work from Medieval Scotland: a future for its past ii a variety of sources, exploring the relationships between centres of consumption - royal, ecclesiastical and urban - and their hinterlands. Working from site-specific work to regional analysis, researchers can explore how what would become ‘Scotland’ came to be, and whence sprang its inspiration. 2. Lifestyles and Living Spaces: Holistic approaches to exploring medieval settlement should be promoted, combining landscape studies with artefactual, environmental, and documentary work. Understanding the role of individual sites within wider local, regional and national settlement systems should be promoted, and chronological frameworks developed to chart the changing nature of Medieval settlement. 3. Mentalities: The holistic understanding of medieval belief (particularly, but not exclusively, in its early medieval or early historic phase) needs to broaden its contextual understanding with reference to prehistoric or inherited belief systems and frames of reference. Collaborative approaches should draw on international parallels and analogues in pursuit of defining and contrasting local or regional belief systems through integrated studies of portable material culture, monumentality and landscape. 4. Empowerment: Revisiting museum collections and renewing the study of newly retrieved artefacts is vital to a broader understanding of the dynamics of writing within society. Text needs to be seen less as a metaphor and more as a technological and social innovation in material culture which will help the understanding of it as an experienced, imaginatively rich reality of life. In archaeological terms, the study of the relatively neglected cultural areas of sensory perception, memory, learning and play needs to be promoted to enrich the understanding of past social behaviours. 5. Parameters: Multi-disciplinary, collaborative, and cross-sector approaches should be encouraged in order to release the research potential of all sectors of archaeology. Creative solutions should be sought to the challenges of transmitting the importance of archaeological work and conserving the resource for current and future research.

Abstract:
Introduction. Ozone and related oxidants are regarded as the most important phytotoxic air pollutant in many parts of the western world. A previously unrecognized component of smog, nitric acid, may have even greater deleterious effects on plants either by itself or by augmenting ozone injury. The effects of ozone on plants are well characterized with respect to structural and physiological changes, but very little is known about the biochemical changes in plants and lichens exposed to ozone and/or HNO3. Objectives.To compare and contrast the responses of crop plants and lichens to dry deposition of HNO3 and O3., separately, and combined in order to assess our working hypothesis that lichens respond to air pollution faster than plants. Lichens are most suitable for use as biomonitors because they offer a live-organism-based system that does not require maintenance and can be attached to any site, without the need for man-made technical support systems. Original Immediate aims To expose the tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) cultivar Bel-W3 that is ozone supersensitive and the ozone sensitive red kidney bean (Phaseolusvulgaris) and the lichen Ramalinamenziesii to controlled HNO3 and O3 fumigations and combined and to follow the resulting structural, physiological and biochemical changes, with special reference to reactive oxygen species related parameters. Revised. Due to technical problems and time limitations we studied the lichen Ramalinamenziesii and two cultivar of tobacco: Bel-W3 that is ozone supersensitive and a resistant cultivar, which were exposed to HNO3 and O3 alone (not combined). Methodology. Plants and lichens were exposed in fumigation experiments to HNO3 and O3, in constantly stirred tank reactors and the resulting structural, physiological and biochemical changes were analyzed. Results. Lichens. Exposure of Ramalinamenziesiito HNO3 resulted in cell membrane damage that was evident by 14 days and continues to worsen by 28 days. Chlorophyll, photosynthesis and respiration all declined significantly in HNO3 treatments, with the toxic effects increasing with dosage. In contrast, O3 fumigations of R. menziesii showed no significant negative effects with no differences in the above response variables between high, moderate and low levels of fumigations. There was a gradual decrease in catalase activity with increased levels of HNO3. The activity of glutathione reductase dropped to 20% in thalli exposed to low HNO3 but increased with its increase. Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity increase by 20% with low levels of the pollutants but decreased with its increase. Tobacco. After 3 weeks of exposure of the sensitive tobacco cultivar to ozone there were visible symptoms of toxicity, but no danmage was evident in the tolerant cultivar. Neither cultivar showed any visible symptoms after exposure to HNO3.In tobacco fumigated with O3, there was a significant decrease in maximum photosynthetic CO2 assimilation and stomatal conductance at high levels of the pollutant, while changes in mesophyll conductance were not significant. However, under HNO3 fumigation there was a significant increase in mesophyll conductance at low and high HNO3 levels while changes in maximum photosynthetic CO2 assimilation and stomatal conductance were not significant. We could not detect any activity of the antioxidant enzymes in the fumigated tobacco leaves. This is in spite of the fact that we were able to assay the enzymes in tobacco leaves grown in Israel. Conclusions. This project generated novel data, and potentially applicable to agriculture, on the differential response of lichens and tobacco to HNO3 and O3 pollutants. However, due to experimental problems and time limitation discussed in the body of the report, our data do not justify yet application for a full, 4-year grant. We hope that in the future we shall conduct more experiments related to our objectives, which will serve as a basis for a larger scale project to explore the possibility of using lichens and/or plants for biomonitoring of ozone and nitric acid air pollution.
