Abstract:
Seminars and workshops are inseparable activities from the world of education in higher education. As the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education is teaching, research and service. The results of the research conducted require publication through writing or seminars and workshops. However, there are still many seminars and workshops that hold it conventionally starting from the announcement of the event, registration of participants, to the process of implementing the event. So that it feels less effective. Therefore a Smart Seminar and web and Android based Workshop system is needed, which can facilitate the announcement of events and registration of participants online, absent attendees with QRCode, and make participants able to ask questions directly through the application without interrupting the content being conveyed by the speaker. The research method that was carried out in the first stage was collecting data and information through interviews, literature studies, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with seminar and workshop experts. The second stage is to build the system using the Waterfall type SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) method. The Waterfall Model provides a sequential or sequential software lifecycle approach starting from analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance. The results of the Smart Seminar and Worksop system design can facilitate educational institutions in conducting seminars and workshops effectively and more quality, as well as more interactive between participants and speakers in terms of questions and answers. This application can be accessed via a web browser or with an Android application.

Abstract:
Background and context: Continuous medical education (CME) is very important in improvement of knowledge in all field of pediatrics. CME in pediatric oncology could be aimed both for oncologists and pediatricians. Aim: We aimed to organize CME system in the field of pediatric oncology for oncologists and pediatricians. Strategy/Tactics: Continuous education for improvement of knowledge for all pediatric oncologists and pediatricians based on Russian CME system. This system was organized by the Ministry of Health and National Medical Chamber and based on continuous work of professional medical societies. Each society could propose their educational activities and receive accreditation (participants receiving educational credits). Specialist required receiving education in pediatric oncology participating this system, obtaining credits and getting new knowledge. Program/Policy process: The National Society of Pediatric Hematologists and Oncologists (NSPHO) organized a system of educational seminars in pediatric oncology with CME status and approved credits in different regions of the Russian Federation. NSPHO organizing one seminar per month, 12 seminars per year. Each seminar has three major components: organization (meetings with governments of regions), education (lectures and discussions) and workshops. These seminars are free of charge for all regions and organized with the help of resources of NSPHO. A special report with recommendations for improvement of pediatric cancer care prepared after each seminar and transferred to the Government and Ministry of Health. NSPHO organized also online CME courses with accreditation. To estimate the effectiveness of seminars we are doing surveys and estimation of quality of cancer treatment. Outcomes: All 86 centers and departments of pediatric hematology/oncology in Russia participating this system. All members of NSPHO (about 1200 participants) are studied within the single educational program including governmental certification and Russian CME educational meetings/seminars as well as online CME seminars. CME education in pediatric hematology/oncology and immunology for pediatricians allowed studying more than 1000 specialists during 2017. Estimation by surveys and quality control showed high effectiveness of seminars in early diagnostics and treatment. What was learned: CME platform for online and off-line education in Russia developing rapidly. Nowadays we involved all Russian regions to this work. Results showed high effectiveness of this approach.

In July, 2005, the European Institute of Chemistry and Biology at the campus of the University of Bordeaux, France, hosted a focused week of seminars, workshops, and discussions around the theme of “teaching signal transduction.” The purpose of the summer school was to offer both junior and senior university instructors a chance to reflect on the development and delivery of their teaching activities in this area. This was achieved by combining open seminars with restricted access workshops and discussion events. The results suggest ways in which systems biology, information and communication technology, Web-based investigations, and high standard illustrations might be more effectively and efficiently incorporated into modern cell biology courses.

In the past few years, Mathematics performance among secondary school learners in Meru County has been decreasing. The current study aims to evaluate various administrative strategies used by principals and their effects on learners’ grade attainment in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Educationin Meru County. The study examines ways through which principals support mathematics teachers through trainings, seminars, workshops and how the support is translated into students’ performance. The study adopted ex post facto design to collect data and analyze the information for conclusion. The researcher analyzed KCSE data over the previous 5 years in Meru County, interviewed the principals, and designed questionnaire for Mathematics teachers. A total of 836 Mathematics teachers and 299 principals across the county were targeted.Using stratified and random sampling, only 251 Mathematics teachers and 92 principals were engaged, which accounts for only 30% of the target. The researcher used split half technique to test reliability and instrument piloting to ensure validity of the data. The study concluded that principals provided little support to Mathematics teachers to attend seminars and workshops. However, principals defended this by citing low resource budget allocations and inadequate resources to support teachers’ seminars and workshops. The findings of the current study can be used by education ministry, school administrator, teachers, and other stakeholders during the decision-making.

The workshop on the Islamization of knowledge, organized by theKulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, washeld at Regency Hotel, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, fromJune 7-11, 1996. Workshops and seminars of this sort usually revolvearound the nature, characteristics, and rationale for the Islamization ofknowledge. This workshop, however, was different in that it dealt withthe question of methodology. Given that Islamization is an intellectualand methodological outlook, the workshop’s emphasis on methodologyis justified and well placed.Clearly, the workshop was not for the uninitiated or for new recruits. It was meant for those who have been associated with the movement forthe Islamization of knowledge and especially for those who have thepotential to make some contribution toward its realization. Clearly, thelist of participants indicates that the organizers selected those who areimbued with a spirit of selflessness and zeal to work for the sake of Islamto uplift the Ummah’s image intellectually and otherwise. The workshop,as briefed by Louay Safi, was an occasion to scrutinize in minute detailthe parameters of the Islamization of knowledge, to critically appreciatethe contributions made by the leading luminaries, and to grapple seriouslywith questions of methodology ...

Today, assembly workers must be trained for.
