Abstract:
A high-precision and efficient machining method of plane double enveloping hourglass worm is proposed. The worm tooth surface is first created and analyzed based on meshing theory. The analysis reveals that the worm tooth surface is a developable ruled surface. This provides the ability of precise flank milling of the worm tooth surface. The meshing lines on the worm tooth surface indicate the contact lines of the worm tooth and the cutter. The five-axis tool path of flank milling is then generated according to the meshing lines. The flank milling has obviously advantages in machining efficien

Abstract:
The latest milling machining centres have in their structure a rotary table which is used for machining up to 5 faces of an workpiece using only one set-up. In order to meet the requirements of an workpiece, that are more and more precise, it is recommended to increase the positioning accuracy of the machine tool table and also the number of indexing points. In this paper we present a new rotary, palletizing table which is provided with 360000 indexing positions and at every 4x90° the indexing precision is ±1``. This solution can be integrated in the structure of milling machining centres whic

The influence of a high-energy ball milling pretreatment as well as of the additives on the morphological evolution of α-Al2O3 powders was studied using the commercial precursor Al(OH)3 as raw material. A mathematical model of universal hypoid generator is proposed to simulate virtually all primary spiral bevel and hypoid cutting methods. The proposed mathematical model simulates the face-milling, face-hobbing, plunge cutting, and bevel-worm-shaped hobbing processes with either generating or nongenerating cutting for the spiral bevel and hypoid gears. The supplemental kinematic flank correction motions, such as modified generating roll ratio, helical motion, and cutter tilt are included in the proposed mathematical model. Analysis of literature sources shows that the most problematic technological operation is the finishing of gear wheels and gear honing in particular. The difference between the traditional honing of cylindrical gears with disc abrasive honing and the new method of processing with diamond worm honing is shown. The main advantage of this method is that it can be implemented on milling machines. New tools are proposed - diamond worm gears and the technology of their manufacture is
