Friheten att kunna sitta på balkongen och surfa, chatta, läsa e-post med mera har blivit en självklarhet för de allra flesta, nya spelkonsoler med trådlös teknik gör att spelaren kan interagera mer med handlingen i spelet, personvågar som mäter vikt, BMI och fettmassa och överför denna information till en server trådlöst där användaren kan följa sin viktkurva och så vidare. I stort sett allt som kan vara trådlöst är trådlöst idag. Med de uppenbara fördelarna av att använda trådlös kommunikation och de mängder med nya enheter som stödjer detta så är det ingen nyhet att trådlöst är här för att stanna. Trådlös kommunikation finns överallt omkring oss, men det är inte alltid den är implementerad på ett sätt som sätter säkerheten först. En av svagheterna i att allt fler enheter stödjer trådlöst är att det krävs en viss teknisk kunskap för att konfigurera dessa på ett säkert sätt. Ointresse eller okunskap gör att val av kryptering och lösenord inte prioriteras hos en del användare där funktionen ses som det viktigaste. Idag finns det tre olika krypteringslösningar som är i bruk, alla tre har svagheter som kan utnyttjas. WEP - Wired Equivalent Privacy var den första krypterinslösningen för trådlös kommunikation, som hörs på namnet skulle vara lika säkert som det trådbundna. WEP knäcks snabbt och rekommenderas inte att användas av någon. WPA - Wi-Fi Protected Access anses vara nödlösningen medan arbetet på WPA2 pågick. WPA2 släpptes kort efter WPA och anses fortfarande säker om under vissa förutsättningar, mer om detta längre fram i rapporten. Även om WPA2 konfigureras rätt kan intrång ske om inte administrationsverktygen, som till exempel WPS, är säkra. WPS - Wi-Fi Protected Setup är en lösning för att snabbt och enkelt koppla in nya enheter till nätverk med högsta möjliga säkerhet utan att de som installerar enheterna behöver vara så tekniskt bevandrade. WPS knäcktes så sent som i slutet av december 2011 och kan komma att påverka säkerheten för miljontals användare då alla större tillverkare har någon form av WPS-funktion på sina accesspunkter. Denna rapport beskriver en kartläggning av svagheter, även kallat wardriving, det är ett sätt att undersöka vilka trådlösa nätverk som finns inom ett givet område. Wardriving är på inget sätt ett intrång i någons nätverk, inga data skickas och inga resurser på någons nätverk används. Det enda som sker är att mjukvara söker efter trådlösa nätverk och sparar information som sänds ut.

I en tid då datorer, mobiler och andra enheter som kan ansluta till ett WLAN är stor, kommer säkerheten i dessa WLAN spela en stor roll. Det som skiljer WLAN och LAN när det kommer till säkerheten är att informationen måste färdas trådlöst i luften, vilket kan medföra att obehöriga kan lyssna av eller försöka koppla upp sig mot det trådlösa nätverket. Valet och implementationen av kryptering av WLAN för SME och privatpersoner har en stor inverkan på säkerheten i ens WLAN. Hur enkelt är det för en obehörig person att ta sig in på ett WLAN? Denna undersökning testar WLAN som använder WEP, WPA/WPA2 PSK och WPS med hjälp av en brute force attack för att avgöra om krypteringprotokollen är lämpliga att använda sig av. Testet simuleras med en obehörig laptop som försöker ta sig in in WLAN med brute force på WLAN som använder WEP, WPA/WPA2 PSK och WPS. Program som aircrack-ng och airgeddon används för att utföra testerna.

The use of wood-plastic composites, WPC, in commercial products is today limited. Current WPC products on the market are to a large extent limited to extruded products. There are strong reasons to increase the use of WPC. WPC can be manufactured from used plastic that otherwise cannot be recycled. This paper gives a brief description of the manufacturing of WPC, including wood filler treatment, the role of coupling agents and compounding. It describes the machinery used for producing WPC, and gives a introduction to mold manufacturing.The use of WPC as an alternative to pure thermoplastics in injection molding processes is discussed. Furthermore it is described how WPCs differ from pure thermoplastics in terms of chemical and physical properties. The paper also describes the consequences of these properties in an injection molding cycle. The work finally puts focus on how to obtain process optimization through better understanding of pressure and temperature throughout the injection molding cycle.

Ziel der Untersuchung war es, eine Charakterisierung des Dauerlaufverhaltens dynamisch und tribologisch belasteter Maschinenteile aus Wood Polymer Composite (WPC) in tragenden Anwendungen durchzuführen. Zu diesem Zweck wurde ein Hybridprofil aus Aluminium und WPC (70% PP, 30 % Weichholz) zu dem bestehenden Profil aus Aluminium in ein Hängefördersystem eingebaut und die dynamische Belastung (Vertikalbeschleunigung) auf das Fördergut während des Anlagenbetriebes gemessen. Im Testbetrieb wurde das System mit Ersatzlasten beladen und die Amplituden der Vertikalbeschleunigung zu Versuchsbeginn und deren Veränderung nach 1000h Laufzeit hinsichtlich beider Profilarten bewertet und das Hybridprofil auf sichtbare Schäden überprüft. Zu Beginn und nach 1000h Versuchszeit waren keine relevanten Veränderungen des charakteristischen Beschleunigungsbildes bezüglich beider Profilaufbauten feststellbar. Trotz Verschleiß am Antrieb des Fördersystems blieb das Hybridprofil voll funktionsfähig (kein sichtbarer Verschleiß, keine merkliche Schädigung). Darauf aufbauend wird der Versuch mit höherer Belastung fortgesetzt und die Entwicklung eines Profils, welches nur aus WPC besteht, vorangetriebenAim of the study was to analyze the characteristics of dynamic and tribological stressed wood polymer machine elements. For this purpose an endurance test with an overhead conveyor was executed. A sectional beam in hybrid design (Aluminum & WPC [70 % PP / 30 % softwood]) was implemented in this aluminum beam overhead conveyor. During the conveying process the vertical acceleration of the transported material (dummy loads) was measured. At the beginning of the endurance test the acceleration patterns of the aluminum and the hybrid beams did not differ. Despite of mechanical wear of the drive system after 1000 operating hours, alterations of the acceleration patterns still could not be detected in the different beams. The hybrid beam remained fully functional with no visible wear or damage after 1000 operating hours. Based on these encouraging results the endurance test is continued with enhanced dummy loads and the development of a beam completely composed of WPC is aspired

The aim of this diploma thesis was to design and implement web mapping service Web Processing Service. The purpose of this service is to provide geospatial oriented calculations on the internet. Introduction part is dedicated to analysis of existing mapping services implementations and defined standards. Thereafter conclusion was drawn and the service was implemented, with respect to computing system efficiency, pluggable design and simplicity of integration in client applications. The interface for work with geographic information system GRASS GIS is also part of the implemented service and it brings the possibility to use the tool from service. The last chapter describes the testing of implemented service in term of functional and performance tests.

På uppdrag av Järnvägsgruppen på KTH skulle interaktionen mellan kontaktledning och pantograf simuleras och analyseras. Detta för att kunna presentera ett förbättrat konstruktionsförslag på pantografen som skulle leda till en jämnare kontaktkraft vid höghastighetsdrift, 300 km/h. Den dynamiska simuleringen byggde på en befintlig pantograf, WBL 88, som tillverkas av Schunk och används i Sverige på höghastighetståget X2000. Kontaktledningen består av koppar som sprids i naturen när den nöts. Då kopparpartiklar är hälsofarligt har aluminium studerats och jämförts som en potentiell ersättare. Materialjämförelsen har behandlat nötningsvolym, konduktivitet, hållfasthet och miljöaspekter. För att kunna analysera interaktionen mellan kontaktledning och pantograf har den dynamiska simuleringen genomförts i MD Adams/View 2011 där pantografens parametrar varierats för att få en jämnare kontaktkraft. Materialjämförelsen grundar sig på beräkningar som kan relateras till materialens mekaniska egenskaper. Den dynamiska simuleringen gav en jämnare kontaktkraft genom att reducera kontaktskenans vikt samt öka dess fjäderstyvhet och dämpning. Dessa förändringar resulterade i att kontaktskenan lättare kunde följa kontaktledningen utan att tappa kontakten. Materialjämförelsen gav att koppar har för ändamålet och med befintlig utformning av kontaktledningen bättre mekaniska egenskaper än aluminium.On behalf of the Railway Group at KTH the interaction between a pantograph and the overhead catenary wire was simulated and analyzed. The purpose of this was to present an improved design suggestion of the pantograph that would lead to a more even contact force at high speed operation, 300 km/h. The dynamic simulation was based on an existing pantograph, WBL 88, manufactured by Schunk and is currently used in Sweden on the highspeed train X2000. The catenary is made of copper which is spread in the environment due to wear. Since copper particles are harmful, aluminum has been studied and compared as an alternative material. The material comparison includes wear volume, conductivity, strength and environmental aspects. In order to analyze the interaction between the catenary and the pantograph, dynamic simulations were carried out in MD Adams/View 2011. During the simulations, the parameters of the pantograph have been varied to obtain an improved and more even contact force. The material comparison is based on calculations that can be related to the mechanical properties of the materials. The results of the dynamic simulation showed that by reducing the weight of the contact strip and increasing its spring stiffness and damping, the contact force became less varied and more even. The changes of the parameters lead to that the contact strip could more easily follow the catenary without losing contact. The material comparison showed that copper has better mechanical properties for the specific purpose than aluminum.

Wal-Mart Chile S.A. es uno de los principales actores en la Industria de Retail en Chile, con más de 60 años de historia en el mercado, sus negocios se centran enla operación de supermercados a través de una estrategia multiformatos, también opera en el negocio Financiero a través de la Sociedad Wal-Mart Chile Servicios financieros y desarrolla proyectos inmobiliarios bajo su filial Wal-Mart Chile Inmobiliaria. Actualmente cuenta con más de 380 Supermercados, 12 Centros Comerciales y más de 1,56 Millones de cuentas vigentes en su tarjeta de Crédito LíderMaterCard, siendo las ventas al detalle el principal negocio de la compañía. Para la valoración de la empresa se consideró la información financiera pública correspondiente al periodo entre el 31 de diciembre de 2012 al 30 de junio de 2016, lo anterior dado que hasta esta última fecha existe información publicada por la empresa en Chile, ya que en junio de 2016canceló voluntariamente su registro de la Superintendencia de Valores y Seguros. Die im Folgenden vorgestellten Arbeiten sollen zur Erweiterung der Einsatzmöglichkeiten von WPC-Bauteilen beitragen, wobei die Untersuchung möglicher Fügetechnologien und ein praxisnahes Anwendungsbeispiel die Schwerpunkte bilden.
Mittels Heizelement- und Vibrationsschweißens ist es gelungen, WPC-Bauteile sowohl mit gleichen Materialien als auch mit dem jeweiligen reinen Matrixmaterialien in Mischbauweisen zu verbinden. Deutlich werden hierbei verfahrensbedingte Einflüsse der Temperaturen bzw. des Energieeintrages, der Krafteinleitung (Fügedruck) sowie rezepturbedingte Einflüsse des Anteiles von Haftvermittlern. Durch entsprechende Verfahrensführung können Festigkeiten der Schweißverbindung im Bereich der WPC-Grundmaterialfestigkeit erreicht werden.
Im Praxistest wurde das Dauerlaufverhalten eines Hybridprofils aus Aluminium und WPC in einem Hängefördersystem unter dynamischen Belastungen untersucht. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die WPC-Bauteile des Hybriden den unterschiedlichen Beanspruchungen und den daraus resultierenden Verformungen nach in Summe 3000 h Testbetrieb, ohne sichtbare Schäden standhielten. Weiterhin waren keine Nachteile bezüglich der Praxistauglichkeit im Vergleich zu dem Standardprofil aus Aluminium feststellbar.

An examination of extant historical and literary evidence for the purpose of questioning the standard paradigm of the "Germanization of Christianity". While the melding and inclusion of both Mediterranean and Teutonic elements in Anglo-Saxon poetry has been the subject of extensive research, until relatively recently, scholars have attributed this dynamic largely to a central manipulation of the Christian message by the Roman church with a view towards making it compatible with the societal mores of the (relatively) newly convt..rted Northern Europeans. This thesis will suggest rather, that the presentation of God and Christ in Old English religious verse may have been an exploration by English scribal clerics of theological issues specifically important to their laity. This study is divided into three parts: the historical background of Anglo-Saxon society in the early Middle Ages; Christian conversion in England and later English evangelization in the north; an analysis of structural metaphor and the importance of hidden meaning in extant Anglo-Saxon religious poetry with a specific look at the Christ of Anglo-Saxon poetry as the personification of specifically English ideas of origin, structure and meaning.Cette these comporte un examen d'evidence historique et litteraire afin de remettre en cause Ie paradigme standard du «Germanisation du christianisme». Bien que la fusion des elements mediterraneens et Teutoniques dans la poesie anglo-saxonne ait ete Ie sujet d'une recherche etendue, jusque relativement recemment on a attribue cette dynamique en grande partie a une manipulation centrale du message chretien par I' eglise romaine, manipulation dont Ie but etait de rendre la foi chretienne conciliable avec l'ethos social des Europeens nordiques nouvellement convertis. Comme hypothese alternative, cette these suggere que par la presentation heroYque du Christ dans leur vers religieux les ecrivains anglo-saxons puissent avoir explore des questions theologiques qui etaient tres importantes pour les Anglais, c'est a dire, dont la provenance etait dans la pensee culturale angbise meme. Cette etude se divise en trois sections: 1. L 'historique de la societe anglo-saxonne dans Ie haut moyen age; 2. La conversion des Anglais en christianisme, et l'initiative anglaise d'evangelisation qui a suivi dans Ie nord de l'Europe ; 3. Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, is currently marketing itself as a pioneer in sustainability, particularly in the retail industry. With innovations such as a Sustainability Index that measures the environmental and social impacts of products stocked by Wal-Mart, the company is currently marketing their efforts as being exceptional among “big box” retailers. However, few studies have tested those claims to determine if they are accurate. The purpose of this research is to gather data about Wal- Mart’s sustainability impacts and determine whether the marketed claims about sustainability programs are as far-reaching as the retailer claims.

COORDENAÇÃO DE APERFEIÇOAMENTO DO PESSOAL DE ENSINO SUPERIORUm aspecto muito importante a ser considerado no dimensionamento e planejamento de sistemas de comunicações rádio celulares móveis e de rádio acesso, é a determinação da cobertura, para o que tem sido propostos, na literatura técnica, vários métodos de cálculo. O cálculo de cobertura dos sistemas wireless, e sua otimização, requerem o desenvolvimento de programas de computação, que se constituem numa poderosa ferramenta para o planejamentos de sistemas. No presente trabalho, são analisados diversos fatores que devem ser considerados nesse dimensionamento e planejamento de sistemas wireless, com ênfase na análise e desenvolvimento de algoritmos apropriados para a determinação da distância de cobertura dos sistemas de rádio acesso WLL (wireless Local Loop) e do sistema LMDS. Os resultados são apresentados através da análise dos diversos fatores que influenciam na área de cobertura destes sistemas. Os algoritmos foram implementados, com auxílio de programadores, no programa NETDimension, que foi utilizado para gerar alguns exemplos de planejamento.
A very important aspect that must be considered in the dimensioning and planning of a cellular mobile and acess radio communication systems is the coverage prediction. The technical literaute several methods of calculations have been proposed. The coverage calculation of wireless systems, and its optimization, require the development of computer programs, that are powerful tools for systems planning. In this work, a wide range of factors that must be considered in the planning of wireless systems are analyzed, with emphasis in the development of algorithms for coverage prediction in WLL (Wireless Local Loop) and LMDS systems. The results are presented and several factors, which have influence in the coverage area of these systems, are analyzed. The algorithms were implemented with help of programmers, in the NETDimension software, and examples of design of radio acess systems developed usign the software are presented.

A implantação dos sistemas de acesso local sem fio, conhecidos como WLL, deve ser precedida por um estudo do comportamento do sinal radioelétrico nos diversos ambientes onde estes sistemas irão operar. Em geral usam- se programas de computadores específicos para se determinar a cobertura de uma estação base dados sua altura, freqüência e informações topográficas do relevo da região. Estes programas foram bem desenvolvidos principalmente para a implantação das redes de comunicação móvel celular na faixa de 900 MHz. Entretanto, os sistemas WLL deverão operar, principalmente nas faixas de 1,9 e 3,5 GHz já reservadas para este serviço. Uma questão que se faz imediatamente é se estes modelos de cobertura, especificamente projetados para trabalhar nas faixas do celular irão se desempenhar satisfatoriamente nestas novas faixas. A resposta a esta pergunta é de fundamental importância no planejamento e implantação dos sistemas WLL. Motivados por esta indagação, este trabalho propõe fazer uma investigação experimental comparativa da propagação de sinais nas faixas de 1,9 e 3,5 GHz e estabelecer se os principais modelos de cobertura estão aptos a serem usados nestas novas faixas de freqüência. Para isto um laboratório de medidas foi montado e cinco regiões com características diferentes foram selecionadas na região da cidade do Rio de Janeiro onde uma extensiva campanha de medições foi realizada. Assim, esta tese apresenta os resultados desta campanha de medidas e todas as observações relevantes para a averiguação da compatibilidade dos modelos existentes e fornece subsídios para a elaboração de um novo modelo caso seja necessário. Várias outras informações importantes no estabelecimento de sistemas WLL foram também obtidas.
The deployment of wireless local loop systems, known as WLL, must be accomplished after a complete study of the behavior of radio waves propagating through the different environment where these systems will operate. Computer programs based on propagation models, specifically developed for the cellular mobile network, are generally used. The base station coverage is dependent upon the transmitter antenna height, the frequency of operation and the region topographic information. However, the proposed WLL systems will operate on the 1.9 and 3,5 GHz bands, set aside for these services. The question to be asked is if these program will behave accordingly on these new operation frequencies. The answer to this question is of fundamental importance to the developers of these new technology. Moved by this query, this work proposes a comparative experimental investigation of 1.9 and 3,5 GHz propagation in order. To do that a measurement laboratory was assembled and five different regions inside Rio de Janeiro city were chosen for an extensive measurement campaign. So, these thesis presents the results of this measurement campaign and try to answer the question compatibility of the existent models and gives the subsides for the elaboration of a new model if necessary. A number of other important information are also obtained.

This thesis focuses on the impact of a mega-store on the existing businesses in a specific area--Magazine Street in New Orleans. The potential mega-store is a 200,000 square foot Wal-Mart Supercenter that is part of the retail component of the St. Thomas housing re-development. The focus of this project is the retail competition that might be generated by this mega-store. Businesses were studied and placed into categories as either direct or indirect competitors to the mega-store. Previous research identified certain categories of store types that could be impacted (either positively or negatively) by the location of national stores in their communities. These categories were used to determine the impact that Wal-Mart might have on businesses on Magazine Street. Business owners were surveyed to determine how they thought they would be impacted. In the opinions of the business owners, the overall impact that a Wal-Mart would have on Magazine Street businesses would be negative. The surveys do show, however, mixed attitudes among the Magazine Street business owners toward Wal-Mart's coming.

This case study examines how Wal-Mart's global public relations activities have improved and are successful. Quantitative and qualitative triangulation methodology was used to create greater balance in the results. The case study illustrates Wal-Mart's success in both the use of advertising as a public relations tool, and its strong, improved media relationship building. Additionally, through the qualitative research, a list of suggested attitude and character traits was conceived. This study illuminates how the media, government and Wal-Mart are each able to control information and how each set and respond to the agenda in California. Study findings relate the use of advertising, law of least denomination, a "fair share" of product, and accessibility. Wal-Mart was unsuccessful with getting its message out through traditional media outlets, so it used advertising to enhance public relations efforts. The law of least denomination works! Wal-Mart challenges the capacity of all retailers to organize their own economic life. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)

An amorphous Ni-W alloy matrix was incorporated with W particulate through two types of electrodeposition. The plating bath for the electrodeposition contained nickel sulfate, sodium tungstate, sodium citrate, ammonium chloride, and a variable amount of 1 gm tungsten particulate ranging in concentration from about 5g/L to 15g/L.The first method was electrodeposition with only moderate stirring of the plating bath. The second method had a forced flow of solution on the substrate via a pump. The results showed incorporation in both methods, but the flowed method resulted in more incorporation. The amount of incorporation increased with the amount of particulate in solution until a limit that lies somewhere between 10g/L and 15g/L of particle concentration. At this point, the incorporation became hindered by the excess amount of particulate in solution. It was also shown that an increase of particulate concentration caused more voids in the material, and the flowed method caused less voids than the normal method. A tapering in the amount of incorporation between the substrate side and the surface side of the deposit was observed; the area close to the substrate had a higher incorporation than the area near the surface. Hardness testing showed mechanical property differences through the thickness of the deposit with the area near the substrate being softer than the area near the surface. Compression testing showed an increase in the strain and a decrease in the stress before failure, suggesting an improvement in ductility.

The main objective of this research is to develop a pervasive wire sharing technique that can be easily applied across the entire range of on-chip interconnects in a very large scale integration (VLSI) system. A wave-pipelined multiplexed (WPM) routing technique that can be applied both intra-macrocell and inter-macrocell interconnects is proposed in this thesis. It is shown that an extensive application of the WPM routing technique can provide significant advantages in terms of area, power and performance. In order to study the WPM routing technique, a hierarchical approach is adopted. A circuit-level, system-level and physical-level analysis is completed to explore the limits and opportunities to apply WPM routing to current VLSI and future gigascale integration (GSI) systems. Design, verification and optimization of the WPM circuit and measurement of its tolerance to external noise constitute the circuit-level analysis. The physical-level study involves designing wire sharing-aware placement algorithms to maximize the advantages of WPM routing. A system-level simulator that designs the entire multilevel interconnect network is developed to perform the system-level analysis. The effect of WPM routing on a full-custom interconnect network and a semi-custom interconnect network is studied.

Internet of Things (IoT), as broadband network connecting every physical objects, is becoming more widely available in various industrial, medical, home and automotive applications. In such network, the physical devices, vehicles, medical assistance, and home appliances among others are supposed to be embedded by sensors, actuators, radio frequency (RF) antennas, memory, and microprocessors, such that these devices are able to exchange data and connect with other devices in the network. Among other IoT’s pillars, wireless sensor network (WSN) is one of the main parts comprising massive clusters of spatially distributed sensor nodes dedicated for sensing and monitoring environmental conditions. The lifetime of a WSN is greatly dependent on the lifetime of the small sensor nodes, which, in turn, is primarily dependent on energy availability within every sensor node. Predominantly, the main energy source for a sensor node is supplied by a small battery attached to it. In a large WSN with massive number of deployed sensor nodes, it becomes a challenge to replace the batteries of every single sensor node especially for sensor nodes deployed in harsh environments. Consequently, powering the sensor nodes becomes a key limiting issue, which poses important challenges for their practicality and cost.
Therefore, in this thesis we propose enabling WSN, as the main pillar of IoT, by means of resonant inductive coupling (RIC) wireless power transfer (WPT). In order to enable efficient energy delivery at higher range, high quality factor RIC-WPT system is required in order to boost the magnetic flux generated at the transmitting coil. However, an adaptive front-end is essential for self-tuning the resonant tank against any mismatch in the components values, distance variation, and interference from close metallic objects. Consequently, the purpose of the thesis is to develop and design an adaptive efficient switch-mode front-end for self-tuning in WPT receivers in multiple receiver system.
The thesis start by giving background about the IoT system and the technical bottleneck followed by the problem statement and thesis scope. Then, Chapter 2 provides detailed backgrounds about the RIC-WPT system. Specifically, Chapter 2 analyzes the characteristics of different compensation topologies in RIC-WPT followed by the implications of mistuning on efficiency and power transfer capability. Chapter 3 discusses the concept of switch-mode gyrators as a potential candidate for generic variable reactive element synthesis while different potential applications and design cases are provided. Chapter 4 proposes two different self-tuning control for WPT receivers that utilize switch-mode gyrators as variable reactive element synthesis. The performance aspects of control approaches are discussed and evaluated as well in Chapter 4. The development and exploration of more compact front-end for self-tuned WPT receiver is investigated in Chapter 5 by proposing a phase-controlled switched inductor converter. The operation and design details of different switch-mode phase-controlled topologies are given and evaluated in the same chapter. Finally, Chapter 6 provides the conclusions and highlight the contribution of the thesis, in addition to suggesting the related future research topics.Internet de las cosas (IoT), como red de banda ancha que interconecta cualquier cosa, se está estableciendo como una tecnología valiosa en varias aplicaciones industriales, médicas, domóticas y en el sector del automóvil. Entre otros pilares que posibilitan IoT, la red de sensores inalámbricos (WSN), que es una de las partes cruciales del sistema, está formada por un conjunto masivo de nodos de sensado distribuidos espacialmente, y dedicados a sensar y monitorizar las condiciones del contexto de las cosas interconectadas. El tiempo de vida útil de una red WSN depende estrechamente del tiempo de vida de los pequeños nodos sensores, los cuales, a su vez, dependen primordialmente de la disponibilidad de energía en cada nodo sensor. La fuente principal de energía para un nodo sensor suele ser una pequeña batería integrada en él. En una red WSN con muchos nodos y con una alta densidad, es un desafío el reemplazar las baterías de cada nodo sensor, especialmente en entornos hostiles, como puedan ser en escenarios de Industria 4.0. En consecuencia, la alimentación de los nodos sensores constituye uno de los cuellos de botella que limitan un despliegue masivo práctico y de bajo coste. A tenor de estas circunstancias, en esta tesis doctoral se propone habilitar las redes WSN, como pilar principal de sistemas IoT, mediante sistemas de transferencia inalámbrica de energía (WPT) basados en acoplamiento inductivo resonante (RIC). Con objeto de posibilitar el suministro eficiente de energía a mayores distancias, deben aumentarse los factores de calidad de los elementos inductivos resonantes del sistema RIC-WPT, especialmente con el propósito de aumentar el flujo magnético generado por el inductor transmisor de energía y su acoplamiento resonante en recepción. Sin embargo, dotar al cabezal electrónico que gestiona y condicionada el flujo de energía de capacidad adaptativa es esencial para conseguir la autosintonía automática del sistema acoplado y resonante RIC-WPT, que es muy propenso a la desintonía ante desajustes en los parámetros nominales de los componentes, variaciones de distancia entre transmisor y receptores, así como debido a la interferencia de objetos metálicos. Es por tanto el objetivo central de esta tesis doctoral el concebir, proponer, diseñar y validar un sistema de WPT para múltiples receptores que incluya funciones adaptativas de autosintonía mediante circuitos conmutados de alto rendimiento energético, y susceptible de ser integrado en un chip para el condicionamiento de energía en cada receptor de forma miniaturizada y desplegable de forma masiva. La tesis empieza proporcionando una revisión del estado del arte en sistemas de IoT destacando el reto tecnológico de la alimentación energética de los nodos sensores distribuidos y planteando así el foco de la tesis doctoral. El capítulo 2 sigue con una revisión crítica del statu quo de los sistemas de transferencia inalámbrica de energía RIC-WPT. Wil Offermans is a flutist-composer with a holistic approach to contemporary flute pedagogy. At present day, there are very few English-language publications on Offermans; thus, in comparison to his contemporaries, the broader English-speaking flute community knows very little of the Dutch flutist-composer. The purpose of this treatise is to present Offermans's pedagogical ideas as a modern day flutist-composer so that his knowledge, creativity, and unique perspective may be made available to a larger flute population.
A brief overview of the development of contemporary flute music will set the stage for the emergence of Offermans's role in the flute world. A biographical sketch of Offermans follows, along with a discussion of his teaching philosophy and four pedagogical themes that reoccur in his teaching and methods: extended techniques, interculturalism, improvisation, and body movement. Other pedagogical applications associated with these themes are discussed in addition. Finally, the concept of holism in education is explored using Offermans as an example of a holistic pedagogue.

Sister chromatid cohesion physically tethers the sister chromatids formed after DNA replication ensuring biorientation and proper segregation of chromosomes. Cohesion is mediated by a ring shaped protein complex called cohesin, formed of the conserved subunits – Smc1, Smc3, Scc1 and Scc3 (in yeast). Additionally, several regulatory proteins control the cohesin complex, important among which are Eco1 and Wpl1. These two proteins have been shown to have opposing functions, wherein Wpl1 tends to maintain cohesin in a noncohesive state whereas Eco1 counteracts this effect by acetylating cohesin, which switches the complex to a cohesive state. Nevertheless, the detailed mechanism of functioning of these proteins and as a result, the process of cohesion establishment and regulation as a whole still remains poorly understood. The present work describes characterization of the protein Wpl1 using structurefunction studies in order to understand the process of cohesin regulation in further detail. The conserved domain of Wpl1, called WAPL, was found to directly interact with the ATPase head of the Smc3 subunit of the cohesin complex. The interaction has been verified using various biophysical and biochemical methods. In addition, crystal structures of the WAPL domain alone and in complex with an interacting stretch of the Smc3 have been described. Together with the complementary functional studies, the structures reveal novel features and probable mechanism by which Wpl1 may regulate sister chromatid cohesion. Thus, the work has provided mechanistic insights into the functioning of the protein and an improvement in the understanding of regulation of cohesion.

A lógica do filósofo grego serviu de base para o filósofo andalusino empreender, de forma metódica, sua crítica aos métodos ortodoxos dos grupos religiosos de seu tempo. Ibn-Rud foi um dos representantes da chamada falsafah, filosofia árabe, ou filosofia em árabe, constituindo-se em seu último e ápice representante no período medieval. Deixou uma obra capital em todos os domínios do saber, sendo considerado o maior filósofo aristotélico do século XII, testemunha de uma época gloriosa do Ocidente islâmico, o Alandalus. O Fa½l almaql / Discurso decisivo é uma obra escrita com a finalidade de refletir sobre a relação entre a lei revelada e a filosofia. Instaura a reflexão filosófica no âmbito jurídico-religioso, justificando a validade da interpretação filosófica do Livro Sagrado islâmico, o Corão, que para o filósofo é uma prescrição a ser conhecida e não apenas acreditada. Nessa obra, Ibn-Rud preocupou-se em indicar com precisão as melhores formas de assentimento ao saber. He restores the philosophical reflection in the legal-religious scope, justifying the validity of the philosophical interpretation of the Islamic Sacred Book, the Coran, that stops the philosopher is a lapsing to be known and not only believed. In this workmanship, Ibn-Rud was worried in indicating with precision the best forms of consent when knowing. In relation to the cultured people - knot in case that, the philosophers the highest form knowledge way is that one of the gotten knowledge thought the demonstration; and in relation to the others, enclosed the theologians, is the form of gotten knowledge way the quarrel dialectic and the rhetorical persuasion. Here it is the great project of this philosopher: the defense of the philosophy from the intent and deepened reading of the Coran, on the other hand, and of the legal interpretation of the reveled law, for another one.

Dess design medför en allvarlig säkerhetsbrist som kan möjliggöra att obehöriga kan få åtkomst till ett lösenordskyddat trådlöst nätverk. Vid attack finns det olika verktyg tillgängliga att använda. I denna rapport jämförs mjukvaruverktygen Reaver och Bully i attack mot WiFi’s WPS-protokoll, där Bullys prestanda tidigare har påvisats vara mer effektiv och förutsätts snabbare utföra brute-forceattack jämfört med Reaver. Ett praktiskt laborationsexperiment har utförts för att undersöka vilken skillnad i hastighet som kan ses mellan verktygen Reaver och Bully i en brute-forceattack. Experimentet utfördes genom att mäta tiden det tog för de två verktygen att testa 100 PIN-nycklar mot en router utan skyddsmekanismer hos WPS. Its design contains a serious security flaw that could allow an attacker access to a password-protected wireless network. An attack can be executed using various tools available. In this report, the software-tools Reaver and Bully are compared in performance against WiFi’s WPS-protocol, where Bully previously has been shown to be more effective and predicted faster to execute a bruteforce-attack. A practical laboration has been executed in order to determine differences in speed that can be seen between the tools Reaver and Bully in a bruteforce-attack. The experiment was done by measuring the time it took both tools to test 100 PIN-numbers against a router without protection for WPS. The result shows that Bully performs a bruteforce-attack in higher speed compared to Reaver. However, with the higher attack-speed that Bully uses, some stability issues may follow, opening the topic of future discussion regarding priorities of speed vs. stability for successful attacks.

En annan bra fördel är att webbutvecklaren kan logga in vart som helst, när som helst och redigera koden till en hemsida. Skulle webbutvecklaren vilja ha sitt projekt på en egen webbserver, går det enkelt att ladda ner projektet.

System Andersson AB is a company located in Jönköping that works with developing computer systems for the mechanical engineering industry. As of today, when this report is written, the company is working on the development of a new Manufacturing Planning and Control (MPC) system. This new system aims to create not only a user friendly interface but also a modern, stylish interface. To achieve this, the company has decided to work with a, for them, new application framework; Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).System Andersson is well known for developing systems for different kinds of touch screens, this project is no exception. For this new user interface the company wishes to implement different types of Drag&Drop functionality. They have not had enough time themselves to study and finish these parts and therefore they have chosen to hand out the task as a thesis project.The first step in the process was to get to know what WPF was and how it works, and especially how it handles Drag&Drop. The goal was to put together some sort of class library and a presentation that together were to give the company a quick guide on how they could implement the functionality into their system.As the framework was new for the company there were also a wish for alternative solutions that demonstrated how the WPF framework could be used to solve the task in as many ways as possible.This report contains a summary of the projects procedure and result. In the report the results are presented and motivated as well as demonstrated in the appendix.

The prototype that has been implemented is a graphical component which resembles a program in which a company can buy spare parts from. The report will also evaluate the use of flow documents and different text editing options. The implementation will focus on the usability of WPF.

I denna rapport vill vi utforska några av dessa nya möjligheter och vi vill därför ta reda på hur väl lämpat C# och WPF är för implementationen av ett timingbaserat fightingspel till rörelsesensorn Microsoft Kinect genom att genomföra sagda implementation. Resultatet av detta examensarbete är en tidig version av spelet och en analys av de svårigheter som har uppstått och de begräsningar som vi har upptäckt med C#, WPF och Kinect.

Der Beitrag behandelt das Heizelementschweißen von WPC und liefert Aussagen zur Wirkung der Prozessparameter auf die mechanischen und geometrischen Nahteigenschaften, dem Rezeptureinfluss und der thermischen Instabilität der Holzfaser. An den WPC-Rezepturen auf Basis von Polypropylen mit 40 Gew.-% und 50 Gew.-% Holzfasern sowie des Einsatzes von PET-Fasern im Compound, werden die Zusammenhänge untersucht und die Versagensmechanismen aufgezeigt.

Generating a phonetic transcription of the speech waveform is one method
which can be applied to continuous speech recognition. Current methods of labelling a
speech wave involve the use of techniques based on spectrographic analysis. This paper
presents a computationally simple method by which some phonemes can be identified
primarily by their shapes.
Three shapes which are regularly manifested by three phonemes were examined
in utterances made by a number of speakers. Features were then devised to recognise
their patterns using finite state automata combined with a checking mechanism. These
were implemented in the Wave Analysis Language (WAL) system developed at the
University of Canberra and the results showed that the phonemes can be recognised
with high accuracy. The resulting shape features have also demonstrated a degree of
speaker independence and context dependency.

Walmart and other “big box” stores seek to expand in rural markets, possibly due to cheap land and lack of zoning laws. In August 2000, Walmart opened a store in Ephraim, a small rural town in central Utah. It is of interest to understand how Walmart's entrance into the local market changes the sales tax revenue base for Ephraim and for the surrounding municipalities. It is thought that small “Mom and Pop” stores go out of business because they cannot compete with Walmart's prices, leading to a decrease in variety, selection, convenience, and most importantly, sales tax revenue base in areas surrounding Ephraim. This shift in sales tax base is assessed using mixed models. It is found that the entrance of Walmart in Sanpete County has a significant change on sales tax revenue, specifically in the retail industry. A method of calculating the loss for each city is discussed and a sensitivity analysis is performed. This project also documents what has been done to assemble the data set. In addition to discussing the assumptions made to clean the data, explanations of area and industry definition exploration are explained and defended.

However, these strategies are also getting bumped into the risks for high quality oriented markets which have been targeted for upper income class. Furthermore, on the reason that maintains enormously occupied box storage concept outside the town, Wal Mart is blamed for making the town more boundless and uncharacteristic as well as killing many retail shops in downtown. Architecturally. reconsidering Wal Mart to be more distinctively balancing to proper urban issues and practical designs is now more imperative than ever. Therefore, this thesis work will be new grope of possibilities of that Wal Mart can be futurally constructive being more friendly approached to the town and communities in a revitalization view of rural towns.Master of Architecture

The aim of this thesis was to, through the thematic analysis, explore which factors influence management of creative workers and how they affect management and organization of the creative firm - CGI studio Wil Film. In conclusion, this thesis has found out that main factors are: rapid growth and transformation of the firm into more permanent form, power of informal organizations and creative work itself. In respons to the negative effects of these factors on creative workers, management established a new postion of HR manager who is carrying out several practices to reduce the negative effects. Training, personal and professional development and retention practices helped to balance Wil Film and positively contributed to firms prosperity. These practices are in contrast with literarture that assumes that HR practices make no sense in the creative industries.

The theme of this thesis is gender equality, and especially gender equality in school. The study assumes a poststructuralist position and aims to demonstrate how gender equality is problematized in the world of education. Through studies of documents and interviews with people in the school world, the representations of the gender equality problem were brought to light. A WPR-perspective helped in the process of revealing how gender equality is “made”. The material were reduced to three categories: gender roles, ethnicity, and knowledge. The research questions were based on Carol Bacchis WPR-perspective: 1) what is the problem with gender equality? 2) what assumptions underlie the problem? 3) What is left unproblematic? and 4) what are the effects? The result of the study shows that there are a lot of dichotomies in how gender equality is represented, but the primary representation is a matter of me/others. Through the problematization of boys (that is, students), culture (Swedish “equal” and non-Swedish, unequal “others”) and knowledge (unknowing, hence unequal other teachers) is the problem made someone else's and hence, ones own responsibility fails to represent the problem.

Esta dissertação, em forma de relato, tem por objetivo compreender alguns aspectos do lugar constituído por esta experiência, que se deu na relação entre algumas reflexões e o edifício de escritó-rios em que ocorreu a intervenção, o \"Workplace\". Pelo relato, além do que pode ter ocorrido durante o processo de trabalho e no trabalho em si, passa uma leitura crítica da Lei Mendonça, que possibilitou a criação do Artenexo, espaço cultural de Workplace, além de uma aproximação com parte da produção de Cildo Meireles como estudo de referência para a análise de Workplace/Werkplaza. Há também a tentativa de problematização do registro fotográfico deste trabalho, assim como sobre a própria forma do relato enquanto seu desdobramento.In a place called \"workplace\", a site oriented art work, wich I called Workplace/Werkplaza, took place. This masters degree project, written as a narration, means to understand some of the characteritics of the site created by this experience, that was generated in the relation between some reflections about the project and the office building called \"Workplace\". In the narration, besides that which could have happened in the process of the work and in the work itself, a critical reading of the Mendonça law -that which made possible the creation of Artenexo, Workplace\'s cultural space- and an aproximation to part of Cildo Meirele\'s work as a case study for the analysis of Workplace/Werkplaza, are offered. There\'s also an attempt to problematize this work\'s photographical registers, as well as the form of the narration itself, as an outspread of the work.
