The article is devoted to the study of the Song of the Great Dao of the Spiritualized Source (Ling yuan da dao ge). This is a work on Daoist “inner alchemy”, which describes the process of transforming the spirit and the breath in poetic form. The author of Ling yuan da dao ge was the Daoist nun and poetess Cao Wen-yi (1039–1115). Cao Wen-yi is the only woman-philosopher who wrote a commentary on the Dao De jing, which has survived to this day in the Daoist Canon (Dao zang). Her talents were highly appreciated by Emperor Huizong, who granted her the title “Excellent in Literary Talent” (Wen-yi

The account given of the Bamboo Annals pre-Conquest chronology in Part 1 of this paper bears comparison with the internally consistent chronological sequence found in Yi Zhou shu, whose coherence has not been fully appreciated by those attempting to reconstruct the chronology. As we saw in the discussion of King Wu's reign in Part 1, Yi Zhou shu ‘Da kuang’ and ‘Wen zheng’ chapters are correct in dating the appointment of King Wu' s siblings as viceroys in the former Shang domain, which event we know took place in the Conquest year, to the 13th year of the Mandate, a finding that is fundamental

Abstract:
Since the antiquity, the Book of Change (Zhouyi 周易) has been praised as the leading scripture among the five classics (with the Book of Documents [Shangshu 尚書], the Book of Odes [Shijing 詩經], the Spring and Autumn Annals [Chunqiu 春秋], and the Book of Rites [Liji 禮記]), and the supreme dao of the three mysteries (with Laozi 老子 and Zhuangzi 莊子). However, its guayaoci 卦爻辭 (general and line judgments of the hexagrams) are not only recondite but also proliferate with conflicting exegeses that lead nowhere. Fortunately, multiple early manuscripts of the Book of Change, including those from the Mawang

It provides commentary on the Dao De Jing as an integration of Chongxuan (the Twofold Mystery of Daoism) and Zhongguan (the Middle Way of Buddhism). This significant book is enlightening as to how Daoist philosophy developed. Nowadays many scholars have researched segments of Cheng Xuan-ying’s thoughts, yet few studies have analyzed the Dao De Jing Yi Shu in a holistic perspective.
