Abstract:
Abstract Dimilin WP and Sevin XLR were applied to a rangeland site in Platte County, WY. Treatments were randomly assigned to 16, 40-acre plots, with 4 replicates of: untreated, 1.0, and 3.0 oz per acre of Dimilin, and 24.0 oz per acre of Sevin. Treatments were aerially applied on 19 Jun, in 60 ft swaths. Grasshopper densities were estimated in each plot by using 27, visualized ft2 samples; species and age composition were determined by taking 100 sweeps with a 12 in diam sweep net. These samplings procedures were conducted immediately prior to treatment and 7, 14, and 21 d after treatment. Fi

Abstract The experimental cattle originated in southeast Wyoming. They were less than 1 yr old and were of mixed breeds. Cattle were housed at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, WY, in separate pens in groups of 4 animals each. Cattle were naturally infested with Bovicola bovis, Linognathus vituli, and Solenopotes capillatus. Hair was parted and lice density was estimated by observing and recording the no. of lice of each species at sample sites on selected body regions of the host. Eight body regions were examined as follows: 1, 5 × 15 cm area on the topline; 1, 5 × 15 cm area on the withers

Abstract Experimental steer and heifer calves were of mixed breeds and originated in eastern Wyoming. They were housed in separate pens in group of 4 animals each at Laramie, Wy. The cattle were naturally infested with the cattle biting louse, the longnosed cattle louse, and the little blue louse. Volunteer corn can affect dry bean by reducing yields; expanding the life cycle of insects, mites, and pathogens; interfering with harvest; and contaminating bean seed. Field studies were conducted at Lingle, WY, and Scottsbluff, NE, to determine the relationship between volunteer corn density and dry bean yield, establish the proper time of volunteer corn removal, and determine whether dry bean yield was affected by the method used to remove volunteer corn. Volunteer corn reduced dry bean yields, as recorded in other crops. Growing conditions for each location were different, as indicated by

Dotąd brak było morfologicznej interpretacji, wskazującej gdzie w ziarniakach gromadzona jest ta dodatkowa ilość białka, którą wyróżniają się odmiany wysokobiałkowe. BackgroundThe common belief is to consider hand osteoarthritis (HOA) as a less severe disease with a better functional prognosis and a lower global burden than rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, this paradigm may no longer be true considering the striking efficacy of targeted therapies in RA compared to the weak efficacy of therapies in the most severe form of HOA, namely erosive HOA (EHOA), which impacts 10-20% of symptomatic HOA [1]. Few studies addressed this issue [2].ObjectivesWe aimed to compare the burdens of established EHOA and RA. The objectives were to compare pain, functional impa

1542 Background: Spurred by the pandemic, chemotherapy treatments provided by alternate site infusion providers have been increasing. This diversification has the potential to increase access to care and improve patient satisfaction. However, it is currently unknown how equitably distributed these non-traditional infusion settings are, and whether these newer entrants are entering markets with need or markets with ample supply. In addition, many community oncologists are concerned about the ability to retain control over a patient’s treatment and preserve the profits earned from drug infusions

We report the results of analyses of detrital zircon from the middle Cambrian Flathead Sandstone from four locations in Park County, WY. The Flathead U-Pb zircon age spectra (n=355) includes one peak at 2702–3345 Ma (95%) and two small age peaks at 1784 Ma (4%) and ∼1830 Ma (1%). Regional paleocurrent data for the Flat-head indicate sediment transport from east to west but the dominant Archean detrital zircons in our sample suite indicates a proximal source in structurally and topographically high Wyoming Province crust. The Archean ages are consistent with the >3.0 Ga fraction being derive

A novel anoxygenic photoheterotrophic member of the phylum Acidobacteria , Chloracidobacterium thermophilum strain B sp. nov., was isolated from a cyanobacterial enrichment culture derived from microbial mats associated with Octopus Spring, Yellowstone National Park, WY. C. thermophilum sp. nov. was a Gram-stain-negative rod (diameter, approximately 0.8–1.0 µm; variable length, approximately 2.5 µm), which formed greenish-brown liquid suspension cultures. It was a moderately thermophilic microaerophile and grew in a defined medium at 51 °C (Topt; range 44 to 58 °C) and in the pH range 5.5 to 9
