Abstract:
This study aimed to analyze the effect of indicators of student perceptions and participation in academic service assistance on student academic achievement at UPBJJ-UT Bengkulu. The research used descriptive method with a quantitative approach. sampling used the Slovin method with a total sample of 362 respondents. The research instrument used was questionnaire. The data analysis technique useed multiple linear regression which was further discussed descriptively. The results of the study showed the independent variables such as X1, X2, X3, X6, X9, X13, X20, X24, partially had a significant effect on the dependent variable (GPA). Other independent variables (X4, X5, X7, X8, X10, X11, X12, X14, X15, X16, X17, X18, X21, X22, X23) partially had no significant effect on the dependent variable (Student Achievement Index).

Abstract:
This study aims to determine factors that consumers consider in buying and using smartphones OPPO in South Palu Sub-district. The sampling technique is Accidental Side by selecting 105 people. The analytical tool is factor analysis. Based on the analysis of 21 indicators, the study finds factors that are considered by the consumers when deciding to buy and use a smartphone brand OPPO are:the first factors includes: promotion and price: X3 (Advertising media TV), X12 (promotions convincing), X14 (Prices are affordable), X15 (the physical form of interest), X17 (service center/customer service); the second factor is product quality that includes: X2 (friends suggestion), X6 (sophisticated feature), X10 (superior camera quality), X11 (good product quality), X21 (correspondence between price and quality); the third factor is lifestyle that includes: X1 (family suggestion), X16 (luxury product design), X19 (unique name and easy to remember), X20 (updated trend). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang dipertimbangkan konsumen dalam membeli dan menggunakan smartphone OPPO di Kecamatan Palu Selatan. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah Accidental Side dengan memilih 105 orang. Alat analisis adalah analisis faktor. Abstract:
Modern leadership has permeated the village social system. Change within that system will naturally necessitate a change in the socio -political construct of the leaders. The socio-political construct of a leader has been the resultant of interactive perception and perceptual configuration. In developing countries like India, leaders act as a change agent so far as development of villages and villagers are concerned. It is very important for the leaders to have a modern outlook as well as to be democratically oriented if they have to work in a democratic set up as India claims to be for a sustainable and renewable development of India. The study has been conducted mainly to estimate the socio political structure of the rural leaders as a predicted character in elucidating the leadership dynamics in a given social ecology. Accordingly, 19 different independent variables were included in designing socio-political structure. The present study was carried out with a sample of 100 rural leaders (sociometric leaders and institutional leaders) at Haringhata block I of Nadia district in the state of West Bengal. The purposive as well as simple random sampling and systematic sampling techniques were adopted for the present study. It has been found that the variables like Occupation (X3), Education (X4), Five Year Plan (X7), Panchayat system perception (X8), Dominance (X9), Self-confidence (X10), Dogmatism (X11), Authoritarianism-equilitarianism (X12), Conservatism-liberalism (X13), Fatalism- scienticism (X14), Individualism familism (X15), progressive-reactionary (X16), Political ideology (X17 ), Election perception (X18 ), and alienation (X19 ) have contributed immensely towards profiling the political structure of the rural leaders .Thus the whole of the study rightly has come out with a clear indication that for better and effective construction of leadership and unleashing of their function, we need to have a focused and effective training viz a viz motivational interventions.Int. Abstract:
Aim. To analyze the risk factors by logistic regression and perform the analysis of the survival rate of osseointegrated dental implants placed in public and private institutions. Methods. An analytic-multicentric study was carried out, where 1279 dental implants that were placed by specialists from January 2006 to October 2017 in public and private institutions (UPCH-SI, HCFAP, CMNAVAL, UPCH-SM, and UPSJB) were evaluated. The variables sex (X1), location (X2), hypertension (X3), antibiotic prophylaxis (X4), diabetes (X5), osteoporosis (X6), bisphosphonates (X7), history of periodontitis (X8), hypercholesterolemia (X9), bone quality (X10), bone quantity (X11), design (X12), smoker (X13), connection (X14), edentulism type (X15), staging (X16), 3D guided surgery (X17), load (X18), bone graft (X19), peri-implantitis (X20), mucositis (X21), and GBR (X22) were collected and analyzed by the Kaplan–Meier survival analysis. The logit analysis was performed among all the variables to choose the best statistical model that explains the true risk factors. The analysis was performed by multivariate logistic regression and the Kaplan–Meier test, at a level of statistical significance of p<0.05. Results. It was found that the failure rate of the 1279 implants evaluated was 17.98% corresponding to only 23 implants lost as they have good longevity over time. When establishing the best multivariate logistic regression model, it was found that the variables that remained stable in relation to their statistically significant value and more stable confidence intervals were age, osteoporosis, bisphosphonates, history of periodontitis, bone quality, bone graft, connection, number of implants, GBR (guided bone regeneration), and follow-up. Conclusions. Dental implants placed by specialists in public and private institutions had a failure rate similar to that in studies previously published in other countries.

Abstract:
A correlation matrix of six factors by the shares of land and vegetation from the total land area in 14 subjects of Western Siberia is considered in this paper. The group correspondence is assessed above 0.98 for the ecological coefficient X17, and above 0.99 for the other five parameters. The first place is taken by the parameter X14 – arable land. The coefficient of correlative variation is 0.8769 ("the more → the worse"). The factors X12 – farmland, X14 – arable land and X16 – human-modified lands are oriented to the factor «the less, the better», and X13 – forests, X15 – vegetation cover "grass + bushes + trees", and X17 – the ecological coefficient "the more the better". The greatest correlation coefficient of 0.9996 was obtained by the influence of X17 on X16. The interesting one is also X14 (arable land) – X12 (farmland).

The continuous input of petroleum-based and other industrial pollutants along with heightened navigational activities in the inland and coastal waters of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria has contributed tremendously towards petroleum pollution of the aquatic environment. Standard analytical methods were employed in sample collection and analysis. The results showed the mean values of Total Heterotrophic Bacteria [THB] for tidal water 1.44±0.20 (x107), 1.42±0.62 (x107)and 1.82±0.61 (x107)for upstream, midstream and downstream respectively, while the mean values for CUB 1.06±0.12 (x106), 1.30±0.54 (x106) and 1.28±0.46 (x106) for upstream, midstream and downstream respectively. Similarly, the mean values for Total Fungi (TF) and Crude oil-Utilizing Fungi (CUF) were 1.08±0.12 (x106), 1.12±0.21 (x106), 1.18±0.20 (x106) and 8.2±0.78 (x104), 9.2±0.20 (x104), 8.8±0.26 (x104) for upstream, midstream and downstream respectively. For intertidal water, the mean values obtained for upstream, midstream and downstream were 1.24±0.82 (x107), 1.77±0.57 (x107) and 1.40±0.32 (x107) for THB, 1.08±0.92 (x106), 1.08±0.22 (x106) and1.13±0.21 (x106) for CUB, 1.00±0.60 (x107), 1.26±0.30 (x106) and 1.11±0.18 (x106) for Total fungi [TF] and 7.2±0.81 (x104), 9.6±0.4 (x104), 9.0±0.27 (x104) for CUF). While the values for benthic sediment were 1.55±0.38 (x108), 1.68±0.32 (x108), 2.24±0.34 (x108) for THB, 1.14±0.32 (x107), 1.24±0.88 (x107), 1.48±0.90 (x107) for CUB, 1.12±0.31 (x107), 1.20±0.52 (x107), 1.40±0.16 (x107) for TF and 8.2±0.12 (x105), 6.2±0.43 (x105), 1.01±0.12 (x106) for CUF. The results showed that there was no significant difference (p> 0.05) in the mean values of each physicochemical parameter across the different microhabitats and stations. This result revealed the massive impacts of anthropogenic gradients on the biology and physicochemistry of Iko River estuary.

Abstract:
Milk is highly vulnerable to microbial contamination and consequently is easily perishable. The aim of the present study was microbial analysis of raw and pasteurized milk. For this, a total of 32 milk samples (12 from raw milk and 20 from pasteurized milk) were collected from 8 sources. Among them three were raw (R1 to R3) sources and rest five were pasteurized milk (P1 to P5) sources. Each of the collected samples was investigated during the period from May to December, 2012. All milk samples were subjected to total viable count (TVC), total coliform count (TCC), Total Staphylococcus count (TSC) and Gram’s staining to determine the loads of microbes in raw and pasteurized milk. Total viable counts (TVC) range of 12 raw milk samples (R, R2 and R3) were 1.3 x106 to 7.4 x105 cfu/ml. The presence of Escherichia coli in the raw milk samples were from 2.3 x102 to 9.4 x102 cfu/ml, but the presence of Staphylococcus were from 5.9 x102 to 7.9 x102 cfu/ml. Whereas, the range of TVC for five brands of pasteurized milk (P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5) were from 1.8 x104 to 9.8 x104 cfu/ml, TSC were from 2.8 x10 to 8.6 x102 cfu/ml and TCC from 1.01 x102 to 9.1 x10 cfu/ml. Therefore, it can be concluded that high counts of bacteria were found in raw milk and pasteurized milk. The government therefore should conduct frequent inspection of the marketed milks to check whether they meet the minimum legal standards and should monitor the overall hygienic condition surrounding the production and handling of milk. Realistic standards for the raw milks need to be devised and appropriate training should be given to the raw milk producers in hygienic handling of milk.Asian J. Med. Biol. Res. Coffee is the mainstay of Balinese exports. But the productivity of Balinese Arabica coffee is still low. The sustainability of Bali Arabica Coffee farming is threatened. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors driving the sustainability of Arabica coffee farming in Bali. The research location is the Arabica coffee production center in Bali Province. The method of determining the number of sampling based on the Slovin formula with an error rate of 15% is 52 farmers. The method of determining sampling is based on random sampling. The economic dimension shows that Arabica coffee farm income in Bali in 2019 per average area of ??arable land by farmers (0.86 ha) is Rp 22,820,376. Contribution of income from Arabica coffee farming in Bali to family income is 69.07%. Farming Experience (X22), farmer age (X20), and farmer education (X21) are components of Social Factors. Making rorak (X13), number of family members (X23), replanting (X12), use of quality local seeds (X11), farmers know the condition of their land (X10) representing environmental factors. The use of shade (X14), plant age (X5), use of clean water (X9), and harvesting of red picks (X19) are the components forming the Technology Factor.

Abstract:
Produk rempah (jamu) dinilai mampu meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh karena khasiatnya. Hal ini menyebabkan permintaan obat herbal meningkat di masa pandemi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi masyarakat dalam mengonsumsi produk rempah pasca pandemi. Peneliti melakukan penelitian di kota Malang. Sampel yang dipilih menggunakan metode convenience sampling dengan sampel sebanyak 100 responden. Jenis data ini menggunakan data primer yang diperoleh dari kuesioner. Kuesioner dinilai menggunakan skor likert kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil yang diperoleh, nilai Adjusted R Square (R2) sebesar 88,5%, maka semua variabel dapat menjelaskan pengaruh terhadap keputusan konsumsi pada produk rempah. The prospective study included data obtained during the surgical treatment of 55 urological patients. In the X10 group (n = 25) for spinal anesthesia used 2 ml of a 0.5% isobaric solution of levobupivacaine (10 mg), in the X15 group (n = 30) - 3 ml of a similar solution (15 mg). Results. The time to the motor blockade of Bromage I in the study groups was 9 ± 3 min versus 8 ± 3 min, p = 0.154, to Bromage III - 18 ± 7 min versus 13 ± 3 min, p = 0.001. In group X10 motor blockade did not develop in 1, reached only the first degree - in 1, only the second degree - in 5 patients. In the X15 group, all patients underwent motor blockade of the third degree, except for 2 patients, in whom block reached only the second degree. The maximum level of sensory blockade in the group X10 was Th8, X15 - Th9. In the X10 group, the upper blockade level, not exceeding Th11, was observed in 11 (44%), and in the X15 group - in 17 (57%) patients. In 6 cases of the X10 group (24%) and 5 cases of the X15 group (17%) had to add sedation or general anesthesia. The duration of motor blockade before the beginning of recovery was 163 ± 57 min versus 195 ± 66 min, p = 0.076, until the motor block regressed completely - 219 ± 66 min versus 290 ± 90 min, p = 0.002. Arterial hypotension was observed in one patient group X10 (4%) and 0 group X15, bradycardia in 7 (28%) and 7 (23%) patients, respectively. There were no transient neurologic symptoms in any cases. Conclusions. Spinal anesthesia with isobaric levobupivacaine was characterized by a slow development of the complete motor block, unpredictably low upper level of the sensory blockade and a long-lasting motor block. It can be used in patients with high risk of arterial hypotension or transient neurologic symptoms, provided sufficient time is available before the operation, the possibility of sedation and / or the addition of general anesthesia.

The A statistical distribution function of X-class flares and their association with super-active regions (SARs) during two recent solar cycles 23-24 have been analyzed. The obtained results show that, during solar cycle 23, 57.60 % of the total number of Xclass flares coincides with a set of X1.0 - X1.9 flares, 15.20 % to X2.0 - X2.9, 12.80 % to X3.0 - X4.9, 9.60 % to X5.0 - X9.9, and 4.80 % to ≥ X10 flares. During solar cycle 24, 61.20 % of the total number of X-class flares coincides with a set of X1.0 - X1.9 flares, 22.40 % to X2.0 - X2.9, 8.16 % to both the X3.0 - X4.9 flares, and X5.0 - X9.9 flares. None of the ≥ X10 flares. All X-class flares are found to be in a scattered manner in solar cycles 23 and 24. Among the cycles, solar cycle 24 has been observed relatively very weak cycle and the total number of X-class flares diminished in comparison to previous solar cycles. During solar cycle 23, 29.16% of the X1.0 - X1.9 flares, 36.84 % of the X2.0 - X2.9 flares, 43.75 % of the X3.0 - X4.9 flares, 83.33 % of both the X5.0 - X9.9 flares, and 100.00 % of the ≥ X10 flares were produced by SARs. While during solar cycle 24, 20.00 % of the X1.0 - X1.9 flares, 36.36 % of the X2.0 - X2.9 flares, 25.00 % of the X3.0 - X4.9 flares, 75.00 % of the X5.0 - X9.9 flares, and 0.00 % of the ≥ X10 flares were produced by SARs.

Dalam pembangunan bangunan keairan, membutuhkan data dasar hidrologi yang akurat yang berasal dari jaringan pos hidrologi yang akurat. Rasionalisasi jaringan pos hujan dan pos duga air dengan metode Stepwise dan standar WMO dilaksanakan di DAS Opak dengan menggunakan data hujan tahunan selama 10 tahun sebagai variabel bebas, dan data debit tahunan selama 10 tahun sebagai variabel terikat. Dengan menggunakan standar WMO, dapat diketahui kebutuhan dari jumlah stasiun di DAS Opak berdasarkan karakteristik jenis daerah. Sedangkan dengan metode stepwise dapat mengetahui rekomendasi pos hujan dengan melihat koefisien korelasi pos hujan dengan pos duga airnya. Berdasarkan hasil dari analisa rasionalisasi tersebut, didapatkan hasil kombinasi model regresi terbaik dari pos hujan yang memiliki koefisien korelasi baik dengan pos duga air. Terdapat 10 pos hujan dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 1,00, yaitu pos hujan Tanjung Tirto (X12), Santan (X6), Prumpung (X9),Terong (X13), Karang Ploso (X11), Bronggang (X3), Plataran (X10), Kedungkeris (X5), Pundong (X8) dan Gedangan Karangmojo (X4).

Untuk analisis faktor, ukuran sampel yang direkomendasikan adalah tidak kurang dari 60 responden. Sebagai aturan umum, beberapa peneliti merekomendasikan 5:1, 10:1, dan 20:1 responden untuk setiap variabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan 14 variabel maka yang menjadi sampel penelitian adalah 5 x 14 = 70 orang. Variabel yang akan diteliti adalah faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efisiensi kerja karyawan yaitu : Kemampuan fisik (X1), Pendidikan dan pelatihan (diklat) (X2), Pengalaman kerja (X3), Kesejahtraan (X4), Syarat kerja (X5), Lingkungan kerja (X6), Waktu jam kerja (X7), Ketaatan (X8), Jadwal pekerjaan (X9), Pengorganisasian (X10), Sarana dan prasarana (X11), Kondisi ruangan kerja (X12), Penghargaan (X13) dan Kepemimpinan (X14). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang paling dominan mempengaruhi efisiensi kerja karyawan pada PT. Petro Fajar Berlian, Medan adalah kondisi ruangan kerja dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,848. Faktor kedua yang memiliki pengaruh dominan terhadap efisiensi kerja karyawan adalah kesejahteraan karyawan dengan nilai korelasi 0,842. Faktor ketiga yang memiliki pengaruh dominan terhadap efisiensi kerja karyawan adalah kemampuan fisik karyawan dengan nilai korelasi 0,798. Dari hasil pengujian faktor dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada faktor 1 bernilai 0,502; faktor 2 bernilai 0,477, faktor 3 bernilai 0,579, faktor 4 bernilai 0,572 dan faktor 5 bernilai 0,399. Kelima faktor yang terbentuk sudah tepat karena mempunyai nilai korelasi yang cukup tinggi. Dengan demikian, antara faktor cenderung terjadi interkorelasi.

The total viable bacterial count in the paddy field was 120x10-6 cfu, 121x10-6 cfu and 147x10-6 cfu in Nenmeni, Kaniyambatta and Pozhuthana Gramapanchayat and that of fungi was 30x10-3 cfu, 32 x10-3 cfu and 37 x10-3 cfu. Likewise, the total viable count of bacteria in areca nut at Nenmeni, Kaniyambatta and Pozhuthana Gramapanchayat was 66 x10-6 cfu, 80 x10-6 cfu, 118 x10-6 cfu and that of fungi was 14 x10-3 cfu, 18 x10-3 cfu, and 30 x10-3 cfu. The total viable count of bacteria in banana field at Nenmeni, and Pozhuthana was 51 x10-6 cfu and that of Kaniyambatta Gramapanchayath was 56 x10-6 cfu. The viable fungal colony at Nenmeni and Kaniyambatta was 18x10-3 cfu and that of Pozhuthana Gramapanchayath was 24 x10-6 cfu.

Dairy products is considered the most complete foodstuff that provide human with most of their vital needs. The aim of this study to evaluate some chemical parameters and bacteriological quality of traditional white soft cheese. Our finding indicates that, the pH ranged between 5.72 to 7.25 with an average of 6.53, moisture percentage ranged between 37.76 % to 54.95 % with an average of 45.03%, fat percentage between 1.2 % to 4.3 % with an average of 2.36 %, protein percentage ranged between 16.3 % to 23.16 % with an average of 19.55 %. Ash percentage ranged between 1.7% to 2.8% with an average of 2.20. Total solid percentage ranged between 25 % to 37.7 %with an average of 31.26 %. Acidity ranged between 1.3 % to 2.5 % with an average of 1.70 %. Salt percentage ranged between 1.4 to 4.3 with an average of 2.89 %. The standard plate count of soft cheese was detected to be the interval of 1.2 x 104 - 4.7 x106 cfu/g. In the all cheese samples the coliform bacteria count was detected to be between 4.0 x103 to 8.6 x105 cfu/g. The yeast and mold count was found to be 9.6 x10 to 3.2 x105 cfu/g. The results found 20 % of Staphylococcus aureus contaminations, 13.33 % of Salmonella spp. contaminations. Cheese produced in Erbil are not agree with the Iraqi Standard.

Abstract INTRODUCTION: Our previous studies have shown that clinically-relevant levels of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell (HSPC) expansion are possible by ex vivo co-culture of cord blood (CB) mononuclear cells (MNC) with third-party bone marrow (BM)-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) and growth factors.1 A recently activated M. D. Anderson protocol requires that BM from a haplo-identical family member be used for the de novo generation of sufficient MSC for subsequent co-culture, a process requiring ∼3 weeks. Time constraints, uncertainties associated with the identification of a suitable BM donor and potential variation in MSC performance make logistical execution of this strategy difficult. We therefore investigated the potential efficacy of ‘off-the-shelf’ commercially-available sources of MSC. Since MSC do not express HLA-II (DR) they are non-immunogenic, suggesting that this might be a valuable alternative strategy. We compared ex vivo CB HSPC expansion obtained following CB MNC co-culture with 2 commercially-available research-grade MSC isolated by density separation and plastic adherence (MSC#1, Cambrex, Walkersville, MD and MSC#2, Allcells, Emeryville, CA). A third MSC, isolated by Stro-12 selection (MSC#3, supplied by PJS) was also evaluated. METHODS: Two MDACC frozen CB units (CB#1&2) were thawed, washed and co-cultured with adherent monolayers from each MSC. Total nucleated cell (TNC) and HSPC (CD34+ cells and colony-forming units, CFU) numbers were measured at input (Day 0) and output (Day 14). RESULTS: TNC and HSPC numbers revealed that the 2 commercially-available research-grade MSC (MSC#1&2) supported ex vivo CB HSPC expansion. MSC TNC CB34+ CFU n/a - not available CB#1 #1 x 6 x23 n/a #2 x 3 x 8 x15 #3 x 6 x16 x23 CB#2 #1 x 7 x20 x31 #2 x 5 x10 x20 #3 x10 x16 x34 1 Robinson et al. x13 x14 x25 MSC#2 performed less well than MSC#1 for both CB units suggesting that variation may exist between individual MSC. These data suggest that the screening of clinical-grade MSC that perform optimally during ex vivo expansion co-culture might be warranted to best utilize this ‘off-the-shelf’ strategy. Data were similar to previous reports where TNC, CD34+ and CFU numbers were shown to increase approximately 13, 14 and 25-fold, respectively.1 Data were also similar for MSC#3, suggesting that the method used to isolate MSC does not appear to be an important variable for effective CB MNC/MSC co-culture. CONCLUSION: Although research-grade MSC were compared from different commercial sources, these data suggest that, in principle, commercially-available clinical-grade MSC might prove a valuable ‘off-the-shelf’ option, potentially reducing the time to therapy and addressing concerns associated with identifying a BM donor and variation in MSC performance. Future studies will evaluate FDA-compliant MSC that could be used clinically.

Telah dilakukan monitoring beberapa parameter difusi (waktu relaksasi, koefisien resistansi dan koefisien difusi) gas SF6 di dalam buah tomat (Lycopersicon esculentum) dengan menggunakan metode spektroskopi foto-akustik (SFA) laser CO2. Gas SF6 menyerap paling kuat pada garis 10P16 dan etilen pada garis laser 10P14 dengan frekuensi resonansi sebesar 1650±5 Hz. Batas deteksi terendah (BDT) yang dihasilkan oleh SFA untuk gas SF6 diperoleh 2,6±0,4ppt dan untuk etilen sebesar 0,32±0,03ppb. Monitoring difusi gas SF6 pada buah tomat dan pengukuran emisi etilen dalam kurun waktu 15 hari menghasilkan pola karakteristik waktu relaksasi, koefisien resistansi dan koefisen difusi terhadap emisi etilen. Dalam proses pematangan, waktu relaksasi dan koefisien resistansi buah tomat mengalami penurunan masing-masing dari 2,85±0,07 menit ke 0,86±0,01 menit dan dari (5,95±0,27)x102 detik cm-1 ke (1,53±0,06)x102 detik cm-1.Sedang koefisien difusi mengalamai kenaikan dari (1,73±0,01)x10-2 cm2 detik-1 ke (6,70±0,03)x10-2 cm2 detik-1. Dari hasil tersebut dapat direkomendasikan kepada pengelola pengendalian pematangan buah tomat untuk mendapatkan optimasi parameter difusi sehingga diperoleh pematangan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pasar.

Recent evidence suggests that type II diabetes is associated with increased risk and/or aggressive behavior of several cancers, including those arising from the colon. Concerns have been raised that endogenous hyperinsulinemia and/or exogenous insulin and insulin analogs might stimulate proliferation of neoplastic cells. However, the mechanisms underlying possible growth-promoting effects of insulin and insulin analogs in cancer cellsin vivo, such as changes in gene expression, are incompletely described. We observed that administration of the insulin analog X10 significantly increased tumor growth and proliferation in a murine colon cancer model (MC38 cell allografts). Insulin and X10 altered gene expression in MC38 tumors in a similar fashion, but X10 was more potent in terms of the number of genes influenced and the magnitude of changes in gene expression. Many of the affected genes were annotated to metabolism, nutrient uptake, and protein synthesis. Strikingly, expression of genes encoding enzymes in the serine synthesis pathway, recently shown to be critical for neoplastic proliferation, was increased following treatment with insulin and X10. Using stable isotopic tracers and mass spectrometry, we confirmed that insulin and X10 increased glucose contribution to serine synthesis in MC38 cells. The data demonstrate that the tumor growth-promoting effects of insulin and X10 are associated with changes in expression of genes involved in cellular energy metabolism and reveal previously unrecognized effects of insulin and X10 on serine synthesis.

Este trabalho constituiu-se na análise da variabilidade genética de acessos de egéria (Egeria spp.) coletados em sete reservatórios de geração de energia do Estado de São Paulo. Foi utilizada a técnica de RAPD (DNA polimórfico amplificado ao acaso), na qual seis primers (X03, Y09, Y11, Z11, Z12 e W06) permitiram a análise de 23 locos polimórficos na espécie Egeria densa. Os materiais dos reservatórios de Nova Avanhandava e Promissão foram os mais semelhantes geneticamente, visto que se localizam em seqüência no rio Tietê. Os reservatórios de Salto Grande e Promissão apresentaram plantas com o maior índice de distância genética (0,1792). Para a espécie Egeria najas foram analisados 52 locos polimórficos, resultantes da amplificação de nove primers (X01, X02, X03, X05, X09, X10, X11, Z11 e Z13). A maior distância genética verificada foi de 0,2791, entre os reservatórios de Ibitinga e Jupiá, como conseqüência da distância geográfica entre esses reservatórios.

Abstract. The heterogeneous reaction between O3 and authentic Saharan dust surfaces was investigated in a Knudsen reactor at approx 296 K. O3 was destroyed on the dust surface and O2 was formed with conversion efficiencies of 1.0 and 1.3 molecules O2 per O3 molecule destroyed for unheated and heated samples, respectively. No O3 desorbed from exposed dust samples, showing that the uptake was irreversible. The uptake coefficients for the irreversible destruction of O3 on (unheated) Saharan dust surfaces depended on the O3 concentration and varied between 3.5 x10-4 and 5.5 x10-6 for the initial uptake coefficient (g0 approx 3 x10-5 at 30 ppbv O3 STP) and between 4.8 x10-5 and 2.2 x10-6 for the steady-state uptake coefficient (gss approx 7 x10-6 at 30 ppbv O3 STP). At very high O3 concentrations the surface was deactivated, and O3 uptake ceased after a certain exposure period. Sample re-activation (i.e. de-passivation) was found to occur over periods of hours, after exposure to O3 had ceased, suggesting that re-activation processes play a role both in the laboratory and in the atmosphere.

Determinou-se a ocorrência de Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp. e de microrganismos indicadores de contaminação fecal em queijos-coalho comercializados em 15 pontos de venda do Mercado Central de Aracaju, SE, durante quatro meses. Dezesseis amostras (26,7%) foram positivas para Salmonella spp. e 28 (46,7%) positivas para estafilococos coagulase positiva. Quanto à contaminação por coliformes totais, 56 (93,3%) das amostras apresentaram valores entre 8,0 x10² e 1,23 x10(4)NMP/g, e de 2,72 x10² a 1,12 x10³NMP/g para coliformes termotolerantes. Estes valores não atenderam à legislação brasileira para queijo-coalho e as amostras analizadas podem ser classificadas como impróprios ao consumo humano.

In this work, the activity concentrations of naturally occurring radioactive material including 238U, 232Th, and 40K were measured of some amber rice samples cultivated in southern Baghdad and Al Najaf governorate and used in Baghdad governorate, Iraq in 2018, using gamma-ray spectrometer with NaI (Tl) detector. The results show that the activity concentrations for 238U ranged from (2.68 to 10.81) Bq/kg with average 5.94 Bq/kg, 232Th ranged from (B.D.L to 3.37) Bq/kg with average 2.65 Bq/kg, and for 40K ranged from (4.48 to 35.7) Bq/kg with average 16.84 Bq/kg. The annual effective dose from rice consumption by adults for 238U, 232Th, and 40K ranged from (0.41 to 1.6) x10-5 Sv/y with average 0.9 x10-5 Sv/y, (B.D.L to 0.42) x10-5 Sv/y with average 0.2 x10-5 Sv/y, and (0.17 to 1.2) x10-5 Sv/y with average 0.45 x10-5 Sv/y respectively. All values of the average specific activities are less than the global average values of ICRP, and the annual effective dose from rice consumption by adults was lower than the permissible limit of (1 m Sv/y) recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection.

Keberlanjutan usahatani komoditas buah Alpukat di Indonesia perlu diperhatikan, Hal itu dikarenakan alpukat memiliki potensi pasar yang besar di Indonesia. Keberlanjutan usahatani tersebut salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan, dimana faktor lingkungan ini terdiri dari beberapa indikator. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh faktor lingkungan dalam mempengaruhi keberlanjutan usahatani alpukat. Metode penentuan sampel petani menggunakan stratified random sampling dan didapat 125 responden. Analisis data menggunakan analisis jalur (Path analysis) dengan software AMOS 24.0. Hasil analisis jalur didapatkan bahwa faktor lingkungan berpengaruh langsung terhadap keberlanjutan dengan koefisien regresi terstandar 0,290. Pembentuk variabel faktor lingkungan terdiri dari lima indikator, meliputi penyiangan rumput dan pembersihan sampah, pemangkasan ranting, pemberian insektisida, pemberian pupuk, dan pemanenan. Nilai koefisien didapat dari indikator pemberian pupuk (x11 = 0,990); pemberian insektisida (x12= 1,050), pemangkasan ranting (x13=1,080), penyiangan rumput dan pembersihan sampah (x14= 1,050), serta pemanenan (x15 = 1,000). Berdasar data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa semua indikator pembentuk variabel lingkungan berpengaruh terhadap keberlanjutan usahatani alpukat.

Background. Patients with comorbid pathology occupy leading positions in the practice of a doctor of any specialty especially in patients with HIV. Reproductive system is known to be the gateway for viruses. This fact could explain the severity of changes developing in the female reproductive system infected with HIV, in particular in the endometrium. The purpose of this study was to assess morphological changes in the endometrium caused by the combined effects of HIV infection and chronic alcoholism. Materials and methods: The study included sectional material taken from 60 women of reproductive age (20-40 years). They were all divided into two groups. The first group (30 people) consisted of HIV-positive individuals who, according to a survey of relatives and according to an autopsy (the main symptom is the presence of alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver), alcohol abuse was confirmed. The following parameters were determined: the average diameter of the endometrial glands (proliferative type), the minimum diameter of the endometrial glands (proliferative type), the maximum diameter of the endometrial glands (proliferative type), wall thickness (proliferative type), the relative volume of the epithelium (proliferative type), the average diameter of the glands (secretory type), the minimum diameter of the glands (secretory type), the maximum diameter of the glands (secretory type), the relative volume of the epithelium (secretory type), the thickness of the epithelium. Results. the average diameter of the endometrial glands (proliferative type) decreased from 51.71 ± 2.90 x 10-6 m in the comparison group to 39.42 ± 2.35 x 10-6 m in the HIV-infected group, which was 23.77%. The minimum diameter of the endometrial glands (proliferative type) reduced from 32.47 ± 1.83 x10-6 m to 27.13 ± 1.73x10-6 m (16.45%), the maximum diameter from 72.14 ± 2.21 x10-6 m to 63.84 ± 3.29 x10-6 m (11.5%). the relative volume of the epithelium (proliferative type) decreased by 5.41% (from 54.43 ± 1.79% in the study group to 49.02 ± 2.65% in the control group). The thickness of the uterine wall was also significantly reduced from 15.18 ± 1.60 x10-6 m to 14.52 ± 1.19 x10-6 m, which was 4.35%. The maximum volume of glands (secretory type) changed from 127.98 ± 2.10 x10-6 m to 97.18 ± 3.12 x10-6 m (24%). Changes by 3.6% were also observed when examining the wall thickness (from 13.02 ± 1.36 x10-6 m to 12.55 ± 1.68 x10-6 m). Conclusion. The study evaluated features of endometrial restructuring in alcohol-abusing HIV-infected women.

The purpose of this study was to determine concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in air samples in Port Harcourt metropolis, Rivers State, Nigeria, evaluate their potential risks to human health and identify pollution sources by characterizing the PAHs. Sixteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were measured with a total concentration range of 0 to 9,589 mg/kg in the rainy season and 0.46 to 131mg/kg range in the dry season. High molecular weight PAHs dominated the PAH profiles accounting for 91% in dry season and 45% in the wet season. The overall assessment of the ratios of LMW to HMW of minimum, maximum and mean concentrations indicated pyrogenic sources. Benzo (a) pyrene equivalent (BaPeq) analysis showed that benzo (a) pyrene, DiBenzo (a,h) antracene and Indeno (1.2.3-cd) pyrene contributed the highest cancer toxicity with 94% and 85% in wet and dry seasons, respectively. The total incremental lifetime cancer risks of PAHs ranged from 0 to 4.90 with a median value of 3.37 x10-2 in wet season; while in the dry season, ILCR of PAHs ranged from 1.62 x10-5 to 7.42x10-3 with a median value of 1.15 x 10-3 . These values showed pervasive pollution indicating a major carcinogenic risk of PAHs. Mean ILCR in wet season was 3.37 x10-2 (33,700 x10-6 ) meaning 1 in every 30 persons in the study area is estimated to develop cancer. In the dry season, mean ILCR was 1.15 x10-3 (1,150 x10-6 ) meaning 1 in every 870 persons in the study area is estimated to develop cancer.

For nonclinical safety-assessment of insulin analogues in vivo, mitogenic effects are compared to that of human insulin. Besides histopathologic evaluation, this usually includes assessment of cell proliferation (CP) in mammary glands. Insulin analogue X10 is recommended as positive control, due to its known carcinogenic effect in rat mammary glands. Here, we discuss the mitogenic effect of insulin in vivo and use of X10 as positive control. We present results from 4 nonclinical rat studies evaluating effects of repeated dosing with insulin detemir (≤26 weeks) or degludec (52 weeks) in mammary glands. Studies included human insulin-dosed groups as comparators, CP, and histopathologic evaluation. One study included an X10-dosed group (26 weeks), another ≤3 weeks of dosing with X10 or human insulin evaluating effects of these comparators. Neither human insulin, insulin detemir, degludec, nor X10 induced mammary tumors or increased CP in the studies. The CP marker proliferating cell nuclear antigen varied within/between studies and was not correlated with the remaining markers or CP fluctuations during estrous cycle, whereas the other CP markers, Ki-67 and 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (BrdU), correlated with estrous cycle changes and each other. In conclusion, we propose that the mitogenic effect of insulin in rat mammary glands is weak in vivo. Cell proliferation evaluation in nonclinical safety assessment studies is not predictive of the carcinogenic potential of insulin, thus, the value of including this end point is debatable. Moreover, X10 is not recommended as positive control, due to lack of proliferative effects. Typical CP markers vary greatly in quality, BrdU seemingly most reliable.

Membrane compositions used were:(a) PVC (30 mg), NPOE (60 mg), DBA218C6(6 mg) and KTCPB (4 mg); (b) PVC(30 mg), NPOE (60 mg), DBA218C6(7 mg) and KTCPB (3 mg); (c) PVC (30 mg), NPOE (59 mg), DBA218C6 (8 mg) and KTCPB( 3 mg). The concentration range of interference ions Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) were 1.0 x 10-3 - 1.0 x 10-1 M. In the present work, geodesic trajectories in Kerr-de Sitter geometry is used to fit the rotation curve of galaxies and estimate the values of mass M, Kerr parameter a, and cosmological constant Ë. In this work, non-linear least square fitting of rotational velocity is used to estimate the some of the parameters. These estimates are mass in the range of (0.12±0.02) x1010 M to (70.37±11.26) x1010 M, the Kerr parameter in the range of (0.7044±0.1127) to (0.9990±0.1598), and the cosmological constant in the range of (1.790±0.286) x10-49 km-2 to (7.523±1.204) x10-42 km-2 for positive value of Ë while - (3.983±0.637) x10-41 km-2 to - (1.860±0.298) x10-42km-2 for negative value of Ë. The negative Ë values are found only for some galaxies with large recessional velocity. Many public transport drivers in City of Dili do not apply various regulations from the government. Located on Becora-Baidi, Becora-Bidau, and Tasi Tolu-Bidau Road. This causes congestion and traffic accidents, and impact on economy. The purpose of study is to determine the trip generation model and its factors, city transportation service performance, and how to formulate TDM concept in public transport. The survey conducted was daily volume of public transport, questionnaires, and interviews 2020. Looking for value of angkot generation with instrument test and multiple regression (IBM SPSS 22). To analyze services used parameters and Severy Index. Then, concept of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) with Guttman Scale. After analyzing, the trip generation value, Y = -1,3920 + 0,0275.X1 + 0,4958.X2 + 0,1734.X3 – 0,0601. X4 - 0,0657.X5 - 0,0001.X6 - 0,0193.X7 - 0,7670.X8 + 0,8801.X9 + 0,6721.X10 + 0,1058.X11, positive value is factor that most influences the respondent's decision to trips using public transportation: gender (X1), age (X2), job (X3), duration of trip (X9), number of passengers (X10), and waiting time for public transportation (X11). However, in service level is still “low” category. Then, for TDM concept gets 87% in 51%-99% range. Means that angkot users agree, if TDM concept is propose to the government of Dili City, and public transportation will be better in the future.
