French missionary Dallet (1874) wrote in book that Korean people is truly different from Chinese people. This is also applied to the two languages (Dallet, 1874). Several researchers studied the relation between Persian language and Korean language (Park et al., 2019; Kim and Park, 2022). Now, the present researcher chose several Persian words randomly, and the researcher tried to find out the relation between the two words (Persian and Korean). SummaryIn addition to parenteral anticoagulants and vitamin K antagonists (standard AC), non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOAC) are increasingly being used for the acute and long-term treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT).The international, prospective, non-interventional XALIA study compared the acute and long-term treatment of DVT with rivaroxaban or standard AC under routine clinical practice and confirmed the safety and efficacy of rivaroxaban demonstrated in Phase III studies: annual event rates for major bleeding, VTE and all-cause mortality were 1.2 %, 2.4 % and 0.8 % respectively, compared to 3.4 %, 3.9 %, and 6.2 % with standard AC.The XALIA-DE subgroup analysis examined whether the XALIA results were applicable to Germany. The 586 rivaroxaban patients were younger and fewer had active cancer than the 355 treated with standard AC. As in XALIA, the incidence of major bleeding (1.6 vs. 4.1/100 patient-years [PY]), recurrent VTE (1.9 vs. 4.7/100 PY) and all-cause mortality (1.6 vs. 6.8/100 PY) were lower under rivaroxaban than under standard AC. These rates indicate a favourable benefit-risk profile of rivaroxaban under the conditions of everyday practice.

Abstract:

Background The noninterventional XALIA study compared rivaroxaban with standard anticoagulation for deep vein thrombosis treatment. This substudy describes the demographics, clinical characteristics, and outcomes of the patients with cancer. Methods Therapy type, dose, and duration were at the physician's discretion. The cohorts identified were rivaroxaban (rivaroxaban alone or after heparin or fondaparinux for ≤48 hours); early switchers (rivaroxaban after heparin or fondaparinux for >48 hours to 14 days and/or a vitamin K antagonist [VKA] for 1–14 days); standard anticoagulation (heparin or fondaparinux and a VKA); low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) alone; and miscellaneous (other heparins, fondaparinux alone, VKA alone). Primary outcomes were major bleeding, recurrent venous thromboembolism, and all-cause mortality. Results In XALIA, 587 patients (11.4% of the XALIA cohort) were with cancer: 146 (24.9%) rivaroxaban, 30 (5.1%) early switchers, 141 (24.0%) standard anticoagulation, 223 (38.0%) LMWH, and 47 (8.0%) miscellaneous. Patients with gastrointestinal or lung cancer more commonly received LMWH than rivaroxaban; the opposite occurred in patients with breast or genitourinary cancer. Rates of primary outcome in the rivaroxaban group were as follows: major bleeding, 1.4% (n = 2); recurrent venous thromboembolism, 3.4% (n = 5); and all-cause mortality, 4.8% (n = 7). Conclusion In XALIA, physicians treated cancer-associated thrombosis with various anticoagulant regimens, most commonly LMWH. In addition, the choice of anticoagulant varied with cancer type. In rivaroxaban-treated patients, rates for the primary outcomes were low, suggesting that patients administered rivaroxaban were a good prognosis group.

Abstract:

El presente artículo se centra en el estudio de la historia de la arquitectura habitacional decimonónica en un contexto local desde una aproximación social, a partir de las experiencias de vida cotidiana contadas en narraciones tanto escritas como verbales, que configuran a los inmuebles como un reservorio simbólico de recuerdos de la vida familiar de élite, contenedor de significados y valores que trascienden más allá de su historia material. En este sentido se estudia de manera inductiva a la vivienda decimonónica localizada en el Centro Histórico de Xalapa, cuya historia se apuntala en las dinámicas socioculturales de principios del siglo XX, estudiadas desde las narraciones de los testigos de aquella época como una síntesis de relaciones entre materialidad, interacción social y memoria, lo que finalmente otorga un andamiaje que favorece la aproximación historiográfica desde una visión social.

El hecho de que para 2050 el español se habrá convertido en la primera lengua internacional del mundo ha llevado a hablantes de otras lenguas a convertirse en turistas idiomáticos del español, es decir, a hacer una corta estancia en un país hispanohablante con el fin de aprender esta lengua. Para dar cauce a este creciente número de estudiantes de español, distintos países hispanohablantes, entre ellos España, Colombia, Argentina y Uruguay, han diseñado planes estatales que pretenden crear y sistematizar una oferta de cursos de español. Este artículo determina cuál es el estado de la cuestión en cuanto al turismo idiomático en México y, desde ese punto de partida, estudia la oferta y la demanda de esta misma clase de turismo en Xalapa, ciudad que es sede de la Escuela para Estudiantes Extranjeros de la Universidad Veracruzana, escuela que, desde su fundación en 1957, ha contribuido a la internacionalización de la lengua española por medio de la impartición de cursos de español como lengua extranjera y de cultura mexicana al flujo de estudiantes extranjeros que llegan a la Universidad Veracruzana. Asimismo, el artículo se propone estudiar los alcances y limitaciones del concepto de “turista idiomático” en diversos contextos de México.

The New World species attributed to the genus Malaxa Melichar (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Delphacidae) are reviewed with special reference to the type species Malaxa acutipennis from the Philippines. We provide an amended diagnosis for Malaxa acutipennis contrasted with the genus delineation presented for Chinese Malaxa, most recently by Hou et al. (2013). We find Malaxa to be an Old World genus and segregate New World species into two new genera, Lamaxa and Xalama, diagnosed most readily by proportions of the antennae and features of the terminalia. Both Lamaxa and Xalama are uncommonly encountered. Lamaxa is distributed widely through the Neotropics, whereas Xalama is heretofore known only from Bolivia and Peru.

Abstract:

Introducción: la Universidad Veracruzana ha introducido el Modelo Flexible Integral, basado en la educación por competencias, para crear profesionales capaces en su profesión. Sin realizar aún una evaluación sobre la aplicación del modelo educativo en la Facultad de Medicina Campus Xalapa. Objetivo: conocer la opinión de los alumnos de la facultad de medicina campus Xalapa de la Universidad veracruzana sobre el aprendizaje de las competencias del médico general que forman parte de su perfil de egreso. Resultados: de las 7 competencias, sólo tres se encontraron en desacuerdo los alumnos encuestados con la manera en la que se imparten. Conclusiones: En la Facultad de Medicina Campus Xalapa se observa una carencia de evaluación en la enseñanza por competencias; apreciando debilidades que son susceptibles de fortalecer y mejorar en el eje basado en la relación entre conocimiento y la práctica clínica.

Abstract:

Abstract Background: XALIA is a prospective, non-interventional study of rivaroxaban in the treatment of acute deep vein thrombosis. The overall XALIA results showed that rivaroxaban was associated with similarly low rates of major bleeding and symptomatic recurrent venous thromboembolism (VTE) as standard anticoagulation. A subset of patients in XALIA had active cancer at the time of enrolment into the study. Purpose: To describe the demographics, clinical characteristics, treatment strategies and outcomes of patients in XALIA with cancer and VTE. The primary outcomes were major bleeding, recurrent VTE and all-cause mortality. Methods: Patients with deep vein thrombosis with or without concomitant pulmonary embolism aged ≥18 years who had active cancer and were scheduled to receive ≥3 months of anticoagulation with rivaroxaban or standard therapy were eligible. Therapy type, dose and duration were at the physician's discretion. For the purpose of this substudy, we defined the following treatment cohorts: rivaroxaban cohort (patients treated with rivaroxaban alone or who received heparin/fondaparinux for ≤48 hours before switching to rivaroxaban); early switchers cohort (patients treated with rivaroxaban who received heparin/fondaparinux for >48 hours-14 days and/or a vitamin K antagonist [VKA] for 1-14 days before changing to rivaroxaban); standard anticoagulation cohort (patients treated with heparin/fondaparinux and a VKA or a VKA only); and heparin/fondaparinux cohort (patients treated with heparin/fondaparinux alone). Results: Of 5136 patients in XALIA who received study medication, 587 (11.4%) had active cancer at baseline. Of these, 146 (24.9%) received rivaroxaban, 30 (5.1%) were early switchers, 167 (28.4%) received standard anticoagulation (of which 26 [4.4%] received a VKA only) and 244 (41.6%) received heparin/fondaparinux only, of whom 223 (38.0%) received low molecular weight heparin and the remainder other heparins or fondaparinux. Demographics are shown in Table 1. The most common type of active cancer at baseline in all cohorts was genitourinary, with the exception of the heparin/fondaparinux cohort where gastrointestinal cancer was the most common type (Table 2). The incidence rates for the primary outcomes for each cohort are shown in Figure 1. The rates of major bleeding were highest in the standard anticoagulation cohort (n=8 [4.8%]) and lowest in the early switchers (no major bleeding events occurred). The rates of recurrent VTE were similar in the in the rivaroxaban, early switcher and standard anticoagulation cohorts (n=5 [3.4%], n=1 [3.3%] and n=6 [3.6%], respectively) and were highest in the heparin/fondaparinux cohort (n=12 [4.9%]). All-cause mortality was highest in the heparin/fondaparinux cohort (n=61 [25.0%]) and lowest in the early switchers (no deaths occurred). Conclusions: In the real-world XALIA study, 38.0% of patients with cancer received treatment with low molecular weight heparin, which was in line with guidelines. The remaining patients received rivaroxaban, standard anticoagulation or were early switchers. For the three primary outcomes, the lowest incidence rates were observed in the early switcher cohort. The highest rates were in the standard anticoagulation cohort for major bleeding and the heparin/fondaparinux cohort for recurrent VTE and all-cause mortality; rates for all three primary outcomes were low in the rivaroxaban cohort, suggesting that rivaroxaban may be a safe and effective treatment option for patients with VTE and active cancer. English Abstract:Green Belts are often proposed as an alternative for containing urban sprawl, restoring ecological processes, recovering connectivity, and maintaining the multi-functionality that cities need. This article analyzes a proposed Green Belt for Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. It is spatially examined through GIS analysis and designed on the notion of Garden City as a strip to circumvent the city. Existing conditions are also discussed. Two existing conservation initiatives are compared to the proposed Green Belt strategy. Its establishment requires agreements between Xalapa and surrounding municipalities. The proposed strategy brings local government and citizens together to preserve the remaining vegetation and thus promote the well-being of local inhabitants.Spanish Abstract:Los cinturones verdes frecuentemente se han propuesto como una alternativa para contener la expansión urbana desordenada, restaurar los procesos ecológicos y recuperar la conectividad, y mantener la multifuncionalidad que las ciudades necesitan. Este artículo analiza un esquema de Cinturón Verde para Xalapa, Veracruz, México. Es espacialmente examinado, diseñado bajo el concepto de Ciudad Jardín, como una franja que rodea a la ciudad, el análisis se elaboró con un SIG. Las condiciones existentes también se discuten. Se comparan dos iniciativas de conservación existentes con la estrategia propuesta de Cinturón Verde. Su establecimiento requiere acuerdos entre Xalapa y los municipios aledaños. Les conditions existantes sont également discutées. Deux initiatives de conservation qui suivent la stratégie de la ceinture verte sont comparées. Leur mise en oeuvre implique des accords entre Xalapa et les municipes des alentours. La stratégie proposée impose la réunion des gouvernements locaux et des citoyens pour préserver la végétation restante et faciliter la promotion du bien-être des habitants.

Abstract The Xalapa monogenetic volcanic field, Veracruz, Mexico is located at the eastern end of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. This study uses specimens from 0.8 ka to 5.96 ± 0.156 Ma Xalapa lava deposits and from 4.5 ± 0.028 Ma La Concha ignimbrite. The study identifies the magnetic mineralogy by reflected light microscopy, thermomagnetic curves, and coercivity estimates. It further defines the magnetic domain size distribution by hysteresis plots, Day diagrams, and first-order-reversal-curves. Characteristic remanent directions and virtual geomagnetic poles are also calculated. The characteristic remanent directions are used to establish the magnetostratigraphy and to identify the net rotation experienced, at each site, since the emplacement. The results allow the identification of the rotation domains, and R′-, P-, and Y-shears, active since the past ∼2.5 m.y. in the region and a better characterization of the displacement along the Río Actopan fault, active in the Xalapa monogenetic volcanic field.

SummaryVenous thromboembolism (VTE), comprising both deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), is a serious and common cardiovascular disease associated with the risk of chronic complications, recurrent VTE events and even death. The treatment landscape has, in recent years, seen a paradigm shift from the use of traditional anticoagulants (low-molecular-weight heparin [LMWH] overlapping with and followed by a vitamin K antagonist [VKA]) to non-VKA oral anticoagulants (NOACs). This class of agents, encompassing direct factor Xa inhibitors and direct thrombin inhibitors have shown non-inferior efficacy and better safety to standard of care in randomised controlled trials (RCTs). The direct, oral factor Xa inhibitor rivaroxaban was the first to be approved for treatment of acute DVT and PE and secondary prevention of recurrent VTE events based on data from EINSTEIN DVT and EINSTEIN PE, respectively. Real-world evidence now helps to further support data from RCTs, and also bridges the gap for physicians regarding any areas of clinical uncertainty that may not be addressed by RCTs. XA inhibition with rivaroxaban for Long-term and Initial Anticoagulation in venous thromboembolism (XALIA) was the first large, prospective, observational, real-world study that has investigated the safety and effectiveness profile of rivaroxaban in patients with DVT and PE associated with DVT in routine clinical practice. This article will present the key clinical outcomes from this important global non-interventional study, and will discuss remaining questions to be addressed in Phase IV studies.

Recent work on Arabic metrics aims at developing a coherent research programme which relies on the systematic analysis of electronic corpora. The computer program XALIYL performs, for any line of ancient Arabic poetry, an automatic recognition of the metre used. This operation takes place whatever the length of the verses, and regardless of whether they are encoded in ordinary Arabic script (with the addition of vowels) or by means of the TRS system, which relates functionally to ordinary Arabic script. XALIYL produces a textual database that contains the syllabic decomposition for each hemistich of each line, as well as its metrical analysis. It can cope not only with the general problems linked to re-syllabification and sandhi, but also with problems of syllabification specific to Arabic metrics. Errors due to the metrical scanning or to the editing of poems can be located automatically. Moreover, by allowing a computerised search for formulae, XALIYL provides significant information on the “formulaic systems” of ancient Arabic poetry.

Registramos de manera casual, en repetidas ocasiones, un individuo de búho cornudo (Bubo virginianus) en un fragmento de bosque perturbado adyacente a un canal de drenaje a cielo abierto dentro de la ciudad de Xalapa, Veracruz (19°31’10.401”N, 96°54’42.297”O; 1342 m snm). A pesar de que se trata de una especie común presente en casi todo México, a excepción de algunas regiones del sureste del país, este registro es el primero para la ciudad de Xalapa y complementa otros registros de búho cornudo para la zona central del estado de Veracruz.

On March 8, 1679, Polonia de Ribas entered her last will and testament into record at the offices of Alonso de Neira Claver, the royal notary public of Xalapa. The will included information about Polonia's family, possessions, debts to be collected, and how she wanted her estate distributed after her passing. She was well acquainted with the appropriate processes and venues to ensure that such matters were officially acknowledged. In the second half of the seventeenth century, Polonia demonstrated her legal acumen by documenting half a dozen transactions with the notary public in Xalapa.

Abstract:

En este fragmento notamos el propósito de aproximarnos, a través de la imaginación, a los elementos de una espléndida naturaleza que, en la sexta década del siglo XIX, caracterizaba a esta zona en la que nos hemos reunido. Al transcurrir el tiempo esta se urbanizó y en sus calles se levantaron cientos de casas-habitación, desde las más humildes hasta un chalé de influencia alemana, además de la apertura de innumerables comercios, carnicerías, tiendas, escuelas, imprentas, parques, tintorerías, sanatorios y templos, junto a personalidades que contribuyeron a forjar la idea del barrio como concepto e identidad en la imaginada construcción de la ciudad.

El presente artículo, da cuenta del establecimiento del “camino militar” en la ruta por Xalapa del Camino Real de Veracruz durante la guerra de Independencia mexicana. Con base en documentación inédita hallada en diversos archivos de México y España, el texto expone los diferentes proyectos bosquejados entre 1811 y 1816 por el gobierno virreinal para recuperar el control del itinerario, enfocándose además, en las novedades técnicas puestas en operación por el brigadier realista Fernando Miyares y Mancebo en la edificación de los bastiones que conformaron la estructura de defensa instrumentada por este personaje en el trayecto Xalapa-Veracruz.

The artist has created valuable works of art that attract the attention of the most beautiful traditions of the pre-existing artistic heritage with a choice of different themes and styles. He created expressive images that characterize the environment in which any subject is reflected, and tried to make room for elements of national motives. This is an indication of his rich artistic imagination and delicate taste. The carpets created by the carpet artist are distinguished by the fact that the ornaments are very complex and very versatile. The ornament of these carpets will remain the object of research for a long time, because its artistic-schematic aesthetic, spiritual and emotional content is an inexhaustible treasure. The carpet patterns created by the carpet artist attract the audience's attention at first sight. The carpets he authored are always met with interest, love and appreciation. Arturo Meseguer Lima era oriundo de la Ciudad México, pero radicado en Xalapa, Veracruz, desde temprana edad. Descubrió el teatro cuando era adolescente. A principios de los años 70, fue miembro fundador de la compañía Ateneum –el nombre con el que el director Raúl Zermeño, a su llegada de Polonia, re-bautizó la reestructuración de la Compañía de Teatro de la Universidad Veracruzana–, aunque no descarto alguna posible participación anterior, arrastrado por Enrique Pineda, en la efímera aventura de una carpa instalada en el Parque Juárez de la ciudad de Xalapa, donde se presentó por primera vez el monólogo La virgen loca, de Hosmé Israel.
