Abstract:
In order to understand the characteristics of heavy metal pollution in shallow groundwater in farmland in Huaibei Plain, 69 samples were collected from typical farmland areas in Xiaoxian County to determine the content of heavy metal elements such as Cr, Zn, Cu, Cd, and Ni. The single-factor pollution index method and Nemerow comprehensive index method are used to evaluate and analyze the pollution degree and the health risk assessment method is used to explore the health risk level. The results show that the concentrations of Cr, Zn, Cu, Cd and Ni were respectively 1.27μg∙L-1~268.78μg∙L-1, 0.45μg∙L-1~ 266.1μg∙L-1, 1.77μg∙L-1~ 29.8μg∙L-1, 0.10μg∙L-1~ 21.54μg∙L-1 and 0.9μg∙L-1~ 252.85μg∙L-1. The Nemerow comprehensive index of each heavy metal element is 0.031~5.507, and the pollution degree is Ni>Cr>Cd>Zn>Cu. The Nemerow comprehensive pollution index of each sampling point is 0.251~9.325, with an average value of 1.934. The overall value is 9.523, and the pollution level is extremely poor. The overall health risk is at a risk-free health level. There are 19 samples which the carcinogenic risk index of the Cr is greater than 10-4, and the number of samples with health risks accounts for 27.5%. Cr is the main source of heavy metal health risks in shallow groundwater in farmland.

Abstract:
AbstractThe Xiaoxia anticline is a basement-cored fold in the northeastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau. It formed during the Middle–Late Cenozoic in a NNE-orientation oblique to prevailing WNW-striking thrusts in the surrounding region. The fold lies within the fault-bounded Xining Basin, which has behaved as a clockwise rotating and internally deforming block during the mid–late Tertiary. Proterozoic crystalline basement rocks and Jurassic–Cretaceous–Cenozoic terrestrial sediments exposed within the fold record three separate oblique-slip deformation events as determined by cross-cutting generations of faults and folds. The modern Xiaoxia anticline developed by: (1) outward-directed thrusting on the two fold limbs and, (2) oblique-slip thrusting on closely spaced minor NNE-striking faults that caused distributed uplift and passive shear folding of the sedimentary cover within the fold core. Tilted and thrusted river terraces on the flanks of the Xiaoxia anticline dated by optically stimulated luminescence and electron spin resonance indicate that folding has continued into the Late Quaternary (post-45.5 ± 5.5 ka) and therefore may still be active today. The development of the Xiaoxia anticline appears to be best explained in the context of the kinematic evolution of the Xining Basin's bounding strike-slip faults. Formation of the Xiaoxia anticline demonstrates that partitioned transpression in an evolving transpressional setting can invert intra-montane basins and produce basement-cored folds, thereby contributing to regional plateau uplift.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper examines the reactions to the trauma of the Ming-Qing dynastic transition in the novellas of a writer known only as “Xiaoxiang mijinduzhe” (The Hazy Crossing Ferryman of Xiaoxiang). His works provide an informative contrast to the more celebrated loyalist literature of the same era: they express unease at foreign rule but do not show an idealistic loyalism to the Ming. Though the Yongle period (1402–1424) of the Ming is held up as a lost golden age, the post-Yongle Ming dynasty is portrayed as an era of corruption and chaos, presided over by incompetent and/or dissolute emperors. The novellas also reflect on the lessons of the transition on a deeper level, questioning the long-standing cultural preference for the civil arts over the martial arts. While the novellas acknowledge the poignancy of the passing of an era, they also strike hopeful notes for the future under the Qing.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: The High Throughput Truthing (HTT) project is assessing pathologist agreement estimates of stromal tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (sTILs) density in hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stained breast cancer biopsy slides. The HTT project will create a validation dataset for artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) algorithms in digital pathology fit for a training, proficiency testing, and regulatory purpose. Methods: The pilot study crowdsourced pathologists to estimate sTIL density in 640 regions of interest (ROIs) across 64 slides via two modalities: an optical microscope (eeDAP) and two digital platforms (caMicroscope and PathPresenter). eeDAP is a hardware-software interface that presents the observer with pre-defined fields of view on H&E slides that corresponds to the ROI on a whole slide image. The PathPresenter and caMicroscope web-applications replicate the eeDAP workflow on the whole slide image without microscope hardware. In the workflow, pathologists evaluated the eligibility of an ROI for sTILs content then estimated the densities of tumor-associated stroma and sTILs in the ROI. Inter-pathologist agreement within ROIs was characterized with the root mean-squared difference. Using 72 of the highest variability ROIs selected from the pilot study, seven practicing pathologists participated in a subsequent focus group to improve the clinical training and data-collection workflows. Results: The pilot study collected 7,373 sTIL density estimates from 35 pathologists between February 2020 and May 2021. The focus group provided an additional 411 evaluations on 72 ROIs and in-depth discussions to identify pitfalls, gaps in training, and workflow improvements. Installation of eeDAP for physical data collection guided improvements in documentation and operation capabilities. Updated training materials refine the definition of tumor-associated stroma, provide reference images to differentiate sTILs from other cell types, and provide feedback during training. Digital and microscope platforms benefitted from enforcing registration and training, standardizing workflows, and accelerating eeDAP slide-image registration. Conclusions: The slides, images, and annotations provided by volunteer collaborators and participants for our pilot study led to improvements in data collection tools and crowdsourcing workflows to ensure consistency and minimize annotation variability. Our pilot dataset and analysis methods are available on a public HTT Github repository to allow open access to our methodology and feedback from the digital pathology and statistics communities. These data-collection and analysis methods are applicable to other quantitative biomarkers for validation of AI/ML algorithms. The lessons learned from this work will be applied to the HTT pivotal study and inform future quality data-collection methods of pathologist annotations. Citation Format: Katherine N. Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a notoriously hard to treat and aggressive breast cancer (BC) subtype. Androgen receptor-positive (AR+) TNBC is characterized by AR overexpression and sensitivity to AR antagonists. In contrast, basal-like TNBC lacking AR expression, also known as quadruple-negative breast cancer (QNBC), is refractory to AR antagonists. Women of African descent are predisposed to TNBC. Moreover, QNBC differences between African American (AA) and European American (EA) patients have been noted, with the former expressing distinct basal and immune signatures and having worse outcomes. Although AR testing is not part of standard BC diagnosis and the QNBC subtype is usually reported as TNBC, QNBC may have distinct biological and clinical characteristics. In this study, we examined the prevalence and clinical characteristics of QNBC.Methods: We immunohistochemically evaluated AR expression in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded TNBC samples (n=760) from our multi-institutional cohorts across the US and Nigeria. Samples with ≥1% AR-positive nuclei were deemed AR-positive. Descriptive statistics were generated for clinicopathological characteristics. Kaplan-Meier (KM) survival analyses were performed to compare overall survival (OS) between patient groups with a different AR status. Multivariable Cox regression analysis was conducted to select the covariates (a≥0.20 removal criterion). AR mRNA levels in patients with BC were evaluated using RNA-seq data retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). The Cancer Proteome Atlas (TCPA) BRCA dataset was used to assess AR protein levels. Results: We found an association between African ancestry and AR loss. QNBC accounted for 92.1% of BCs in Africans, 82.4% in AAs, and only 39.8% in EAs. Similarly, analyses of RNA-seq data from TCGA revealed that tumors in AAs with TNBC (n=32) had lower AR mRNA levels than their EA counterparts (n=67). Consistently, AR protein levels in TNBC tumors were lower in AAs than in EAs. Univariate analyses revealed a significant association between QNBC status and high tumor grade (grade 3: 83.02% vs. 66.41%, p<0.001) and high expression of the proliferation marker Ki-67 (≥14%: 85.41 vs. 75.51%, p=0.022) in patients from our multi-institutional cohorts. Race-wise associations showed a non-significant trend of QNBCs in AAs toward higher tumor grade (85.65% vs. 80.27%, p=0.196) and Ki67 expression levels (87.77% vs. 81.06%, p=0.113) compared with QNBCs in EAs. Compared with EAs with QNBC, a higher proportion of AAs with QNBC aged ≤56 (59.17% AAs vs. 45.7 EAs, p=0.011) and had tumors >2 cm (60.88% AAs vs. 45.65% EAs, p=0.075). KM survival analyses indicated that patients with QNBC had worse outcomes than those with TNBC, with significant differences in women of African descent (p<0.05). Furthermore, a race-wise comparison uncovered that while AA and EA patients with TNBC displayed similar OS, AAs with QNBCs had worse OS than their EA counterparts (p=0.03). Finally, we stratified samples in the TCGA BC dataset (n=920) according to AR mRNA levels into AR-low (n=243) and AR-high groups (n=677) and found that among patients in the AR-low subgroup, AAs (n=90) had significantly worse OS than EAs (n=153; p=0.008). No significant differences in OS were observed within the AR-high group (p=0.93).Conclusion: Our findings suggest a strong association between AR loss and African descent. These data offer compelling evidence to support that racial BC disparities in the US lie within the QNBC subgroup rather than the TNBC subtype. These findings also suggest that the widening BC mortality gap between AAs and EAs essentially whittles down to a failure to characterize the QNBC subtype. Abstract:
Abstract Background This study discusses the effectiveness of artificial intelligence in one-to-one psychological intervention system for middle school students. The purpose of this study is to determine whether middle school students have enough trust in AI machines, to explore their internal psychology, and to evaluate the intervention effect of AI in middle school students' one-to-one psychological intervention system. Subjects and Methods 76 eighth grade students from two parallel classes in the same grade were randomly assigned to the same teacher. The research tools used include two sets of autonomic nerve detectors produced by South Korean medicore company and two sets of self-developed artificial intelligence one-to-one psychological intervention systems, including two artificial intelligence robots Xiaoxin and two emotional bracelets. 36 students in the intervention group received one-on-one intervention of artificial intelligence robot Xiaoxin, and t-test was conducted on physical stress, psychological stress, stress index, sympathetic nerve activity, stress resistance and average heart rate. Test participants can effectively alleviate psychological stress and prevent depression. The data showed that the DASS-21 comprehensive score of subjects participating in the test was 1.7 times that of subjects not participating in the test. In contrast, without participation, they are more likely to show depression, anxiety and stress, and tend to be passive in simple coping styles. The improved method can effectively alleviate the psychological pressure of employees and improve the ability to actively deal with pressure. Results Except for the four indexes of nerve stress and sympathetic nerve activity, P < 0.001. After the intervention, the average heart rate, physical stress and stress index decreased significantly, while the anti stress ability increased significantly. Statistical analysis shows that the one-to-one intervention of artificial intelligence robot Xiaoxin can effectively alleviate students' physical stress and stress index, and improve students' stress resistance. The intermediary effect analysis of emotional arousal found that the direct effect of anger on MCT fluency was significant, B = 3.80, P < 0.001, CI = [1.99, 5.62], and the indirect effect of arousal on MCT fluency was significant, B = 0.58, CI = [0.08, 1.66]; The direct effect of anger on MCT anger was significant, B = 6.08, P < 0.001, CI = [3.26, 8.89], and the indirect effect of arousal on MCT anger was significant, B = 0.80, CI = [0.08, 2.41]; The direct effect of anger on MCT harmfulness was significant, B = 0.42, P = 0.004, CI = [0.14, 0.69], and the indirect effect of arousal on MCT harmfulness was not significant, B = 0.03, CI = [− 0.03, 0.18]. The direct effect of anger on aut fluency was significant, B = 2.58, P = 0.032, CI = [0.23, 4.92], and the indirect effect of arousal on aut fluency was significant, B = 1.22, CI = [0.27, 2.62]); The direct effect of anger on aut novelty was significant, B = 4.60, P = 0.008, CI = [1.23, 7.96], and the indirect effect of arousal on aut novelty was significant, B = 1.79, CI = [0.42, 3.91] (see Figure 4D). The above results show that emotional arousal plays a partial mediating role in the influence of anger on the fluency and novelty of malicious creativity and general creativity, but it has no mediating role in the influence of anger on the harmfulness of malicious creativity. Conclusion Artificial intelligence one-to-one psychological intervention system is effective. Among the 38 students in the intervention group, this shows that most students have a high sense of trust in the artificial intelligence robot Xiaoxin. This sense of trust is enough to make the artificial intelligence one-to-one psychological intervention system play the role of psychological intervention. We should fully understand the important position of artificial intelligence robot in emotional factors, actively improve its role psychological ability, pay special attention to its impact on life attitude and healthy behavior, and be a healthy self-manager, coordinator and collaborator. According to the psychological characteristics of these groups, we should actively and flexibly organize colorful activities, strive to create a relaxed and harmonious living atmosphere, create a friendly and mutually beneficial emotional artificial intelligence relationship, encourage and guide these groups, adjust their psychology to the best state, and promote the healthy development of their good cognition and life.

Abstract:
Efficient and economical drilling and blasting method is widely used in tunnel excavation projects, but the vibration problem caused cannot be ignored. The blasting vibration in the near area directly damages the surrounding rock and supporting structure, and the vibration in the middle and far area affects the stability of the surrounding rock, the primary support, and even the secondary lining. Based on the blasting excavation of Xiaoxiku tunnel, blasting vibration tests were carried out. In addition, the measured data were analyzed by using nonlinear regression and Fourier transform of Sadowski formula. According to the interference vibration reduction method, the blasting vibration of group holes is analyzed, and the results provide a reference for blasting design optimization of Xiaoxiku tunnel or similar soft rock tunnel. The results showed that the blasting vibration test data showed that the peak vibration velocity generated by the blasting of cut hole is the largest. Based on the measured vibration waveform of single-hole blasting, MATLAB software is used to carry out superposition operation, so as to determine the best delay time of single-hole continuous blasting vibration reduction, and the value is calculated as 7 ms. According to the superposition operation results, the experiments of the cut area under different delay intervals were carried out. The measurement vibration waveform showed that the peak vibration velocity is the minimum when the delay interval is 7 ms. The actual measurement results are the same as the calculation results. The measured blasting waveform distribution is relatively uniform, and the vibration duration is moderate. The vibration speed decreases, while the main frequency increases.

Abstract:
To narrow the gap between theoretical research and practical application of short-term optimal reservoir power generation operation under uncertain conditions, a comprehensive study is conducted on the formulation, evaluation, and implementation of operation schemes throughout the entire procedure of optimal operation. Firstly, the three implementation modes of the optimal operation scheme are assessed with the post-evaluation method. After the optimal implementation mode is determined, the formulation and implementation of optimal operation schemes are improved by combining the advantages of conventional and optimal operation and using the concept of warning water level in operation rules. Finally, the Xiaoxuan Reservoir is taken as an example for simulation calculation under different operating conditions. The results show that the operation model integrated with operation rules has both the security of conventional operation and the profitability of optimal operation. The accordingly-formulated optimal operation schemes, when implemented with the output control mode, can provide valuable guidance for the actual operation of hydropower stations.

"Petrogenesis of the Cretaceous granitoids in Zhejiang, northeast South China Block and their implications for episodic retreat and roll-back of the Paleo-Pacific Plate." Abstract:
Abstract Two Cretaceous granitoid belts (i.e., the northwest and southeast belts) have been identified in Zhejiang, northeast South China Block. In this study, seven granitoid plutons from both the two belts were collected for zircon U-Pb dating, whole-rock geochemistry, Sr-Nd isotope, and zircon Hf isotope analyses. Chronologically, the Longyou (132 Ma), Sucun (136 Ma), Shanghekou (131 Ma), and Huangshitan (ca. 126 Ma) plutons from the northwest belt display older magma crystallization age than those of the Xiaoxiong (100 Ma), Zhujiajian (108 Ma), and Qingbang island (108 Ma) plutons from the southeast belt. The Sucun quartz monzonite and the Longyou, Shanghekou, Zhujiajian, and Qingbang island granites therein are fractionated I-type granites (i.e., partial melting of meta-igneous rocks) with relatively moderate-low Zr saturation temperature (723–823 °C) and pronouncedly evolved Nd and Hf isotopic compositions (εNd(t) = –8.17 to –5.67 and εHf(t) = –15.07 to –5.67), indicating that they are derivatives of ancient crustal melt-dominated magmas. The Huangshitan granite shows A-type granitic (i.e., granites that are alkaline and anhydrous and from anorogenic setting) features with high Ga/Al (3.47–5.58), rare earth element (REE) content (271–402 ppm), and Zr saturation temperature (781–889 °C). It holds less enriched Nd and Hf isotopic compositions (εNd(t) = –4.13 to –3.60 and εHf(t) = –5.90 to –2.16) and is attributed to partial melting of mature crustal materials with minor basaltic magma incorporation. The Xiaoxiong (quartz) syenitic porphyry is characterized by moderate SiO2 content (60.68–69.92 wt%), high alkali (9.03–11.66 wt%) and REE contents with fractionated REE pattern [(La/Yb)N = 13.8–26.1]. Its relatively depleted Nd and Hf isotopic compositions (εNd(t) = –3.67 to –3.42 and εHf(t) = –5.76 to –2.25) imply that it could be a derivative of basaltic magma from K-rich metasomatized mantle. Available geochronological data indicate that there were two episodic magmatic pulses at ca. 140–120 Ma and ca. 110–85 Ma associated with the Paleo-Pacific Plate underthrusting beneath the northeast South China Block. Here we put forward an episodic slab retreat and roll-back model to account for generation of these magmatic rocks. Firstly, the subducting Paleo-Pacific slab roll-back initiated at ca. 140 Ma and reached climax at ca. 130–120 Ma, which led to formation of the Longyou, Sucun, and Shanghekou I-type granites and the Huangshitan A-type granite, respectively. Subsequently, a flat slab subduction stage occurred with eastward trench retreat, causing a period of magmatic quiescence from ca. 120 to 110 Ma. The following second slab roll-back started at ca. 110 Ma and reached climax at ca. 100 Ma, giving rise to the earlier Zhujiajian and Qingbang island I-type granites and the later Xiaoxiong (quartz) syenitic porphyry.

Abstract:
As one of the most famous craft-carving stones in China, Shoushan stone commonly consists of clay minerals, including the kaolinite, pyrophyllite, or illite group, which is the product of hydrothermal alteration. In Fujian Province, the Xiaoxi Formation of the Early Cretaceous is a critical formation containing pyrophyllite deposits (including Shoushan stone). Here, we carry out a geological field investigation of a typical section in the Shoushan basin of southeastern China to identify lithology and volcanic sequences of the Xiaoxi Formation. The section included four lithofacies: eruption facies, flood lava facies, sedimentary facies, and volcanic channel facies. The petrogenesis of these lithofacies demonstrates the evolution of volcanism, which is critical for understanding the formation of the Shoushan-stone-associated hydrothermal system. For the geochronological study, the samples of unaltered rhyolitic tuff are collected from the layers topping and bottoming a pyrophyllite orebody. The zircon U-Pb dating results constrain the age of pyrophyllite alteration during the episodic eruption. Shoushan stone is formed in an epithermal hydrothermal environment, so we suggest that high-quality Shoushan stone is formed by the hydrothermal alterations in the interval time of the volcanic episode (135–131 Ma) and after volcanic activity (<131 Ma). Furthermore, the Shoushan basin’s stratigraphic section suggests that there have been large-scale hydrothermal systems in the volcanic basin during the Early Cretaceous volcanism. The stratigraphic correlation and geochemical results indicate that the Mesozoic basins in the Fu’an-Yongtai volcanic eruption belt have the potential for pyrophyllite deposit exploration.
