Abstract:
4051 Background: Before 2000, trials comparing BSC +/- chemo for aGOAC showed overall survival (OS) benefit, but in predominantly fit patients (pts). We have revisited this question in a modern context, using low-dose chemo in a frail population, with comprehensive baseline health and frailty assessment. Methods: In the GO2 trial, elderly and/or frail aGOAC pts with a “certain” indication for chemo were randomised between 3 chemo doses. In this GO2 substudy, pts with an “uncertain” indication for chemo were instead randomised to BSC ± the lowest dose chemo. Pts were eligible if clinician and pt agreed the indication for chemo was uncertain. There was no PS threshold, but eGFR ≥30 and bili < 2xULN were required. Baseline assessment included global QL, symptom & functional scales, frailty and comorbidity. Randomisation was 1:1 to BSC alone, or with oxaliplatin 78 mg/m2 d1, capecitabine 375 mg/m2 bd d1-21 (modified if eGFR 30-50 ml/min or bili 1.5-2.0 xULN), q21d. QL was reassessed after 9 and 18 wks. The primary endpoint analysis was OS, adjusted for baseline factors. The sample size for this exploratory sub-study was not pre-set, but around 60 pts were anticipated. Results: 558 pts entered GO2 at 61 centres 2014-17, of whom only 45 pts (8%) at 21 centres entered this uncertain randomisation. This would provide 80% power at p = 0.05 (2-tailed) to detect an OS HR of 0.3. OS was shorter in pts with worse baseline PS (p<0.01) or distant mets (p<0.05). OS was not significantly improved with chemo; however we cannot exclude HR >0.32. QL deteriorated less with BSC+chemo than with BSC alone. Conclusions: In this frail, poor PS population, we observed a small survival benefit with chemo but this did not reach statistical significance. Clinicians should carefully consider BSC alone as a valid treatment option for aGOAC pts with poor PS and/or frailty. Clinical trial information: 44687907. [Table: see text]

Abstract:
4006 Background: Many pts with aGOAC are elderly and/or frail. We previously compared epirubin/ oxaliplatin/ capecitabine (EOCap) vs OCap vs Cap in a pick-the-winner study and found OCap best. GO2 was designed to find the optimum dose of OCap and to explore the use of an objective baseline geriatric assessment to individualize doses for maximum Overall Treatment Utility (OTU), a composite of clinical benefit, tolerability, QL and patient value. Methods: Pts with aGOAC were eligible if unsuitable for full-dose EOCap due to age or frailty, but fit for OCap; GFR ≥ 30, bili <2x ULN. Baseline assessment included global QL; symptoms; functional scales; comorbidity; frailty. Randomization was 1:1:1 to dose Level A (Ox 130 mg/m2d1, Cap 625 mg/m2bd d1-21, q21d), B (80% Level A doses) or C (60% Level A doses). Pts with GFR 30-50 ml/min or bili 1.5-2.0 xULN received 75% of the allocated dose of Cap. At 9 wks, pts were scored for OTU. Continuation thereafter was based on clinical judgement. Non-inferiority (vs A) was assessed using PFS censored at 12 months, with boundary HR 1.34 (based on discussion with pts and clinicians), needing 284 PFS events per 2-way comparison. Baseline fitness was assessed as predictive of OTU, overall and by interaction with dose level. Results: 514 pts were randomised, 2014-17, at 61 UK centres. Clinical trial information: 44687907. Non-inferiority of PFS is confirmed for Level B vs A (HR 1.09, CI 0.89-1.32) and for Level C vs A (HR 1.10, CI 0.90-1.33). Level C pts had less toxicity and better OTU outcomes than A or B. When analysed by baseline age, frailty and PS, Level C produced the best OTU even in younger, less frail and better PS patients; no group was identified who benefit more from the higher dose levels. Conclusions: This is the largest RCT to date specifically investigating frail and/or elderly aGOAC pts, and should guide future treatment. The lowest dose tested was non-inferior in terms of PFS and produced less toxicity and better overall treatment utility.[Table: see text]

Abstract:
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world. Cardiovascular risk assessment is an important step in preventing and treating the disease. The current study assesses the 10-year risk of cardiovascular disease in 306 VNU’s office workers in 2016-2017 based on the 2008 Framingham Risk Score. The study results show that the average risk score was 4.05 ± 4.76%; low risk was 90.52%; moderate risk: 7.85 %; and high to very high risk was 1.63%. Men have a higher risk score than women (p <0.001). The ten-year cardiovascular risk score shows that age and systolic blood pressure correlated with the risk at a medium level, and cholesterol and HDL correlated with it at a low level. Abstract:
The vernacular fiction 'novel' is a genre typically associated with the explosion of commercial printing activity that occurred in the late sixteenth century. However, by that time, representative works such as the Shuihu zhuan and Sanguo yanyi had already been in print for several decades. Moreover, those early print editions were printed not by commercial entities but rather the elite of the Jiajing court. In order to better understand the genre as a print phenomenon, this paper explores the publishing output of one of those elites: Guo Xun (1475- 1542), Marquis of Wuding. In addition to vernacular fiction, Guo printed a number of other types of books as well. This paper examines the entirety of his publishing activities in order to better contextualize the vernacular novel at this early stage in its life in print.

This study mainly discusses the original meaning of Xuan-Tian God that has strong religious impact on the Chinese Society and tries to comprehend ,from modern people’s astronomical viewpoint, the cultural influence and application derived from our ancestors’ astrological observation and creation. Therefore, this study is mainly researched into those astrological symbols that are related to Xuan-Tian God. The researcher’s series of Polaris-based creations are done through understanding the ideology of Taorism’s theory of “man is an integral part of nature” from ancient China’s cosmological perspective and further discuss the intrinsic nature of Xuan-Tian God from a contemporary viewpoint. The influential role modal of Xuan-Tian God existed among ancient followers along with its crucial impact on modern religion and culture have been transformed into elements for personal art creation which has been interpreted through an artistic approach. Viewers are then guided for personal experiments which turn the religious and cultural cognition of Xuan-Tian God into abstract and conceptual ones. Thus, the intrinsic nature of Xuan-Tian God has been re-contemplated so as to present both the researcher’s creation concept and the new look of the religious art.

Taoism’s Ceremony:From Visual Art’s prespective --Take the religious ceremony of Xuan-tian God for example-- Abstract In order to break through the constraint of the traditional religion art form, and to explore new looks of religion art, I learn from Taoism’s ceremony and activities that there are numerous Taoism's gods. I choose one particular god, the Xuan-tian God, as an example and analyze his features, and further incorporate such into my work. The purpose of this research is to discuss the artistic aspect of Taoism's ceremony. I use various angles of iconography, semiology, traditional art type of facial make ups, chromatology and social art as the fundamental spirit of my work. It uses the totem and shape in the shape of ancient Chinese word-sign and pattern as its main framework, which is in combination with religion art, and merging with contemporary art form. By means of conceptual art and installation art, I expect to show a general figure art. I represent my whole ideas in the form of mixture of traditional and contemporary art. I hope people may view these religious ceremonies from an artistic viewpoint, and appreciate the old beliefs and legend contained therein. From a new angle to see the religious art, people may see the beauty of our own culture. These local culture features will continuously be shown and cultivated in a more innovative way after more local artists deeply learn and recognize them.

Guogou village is a tranquil village with genuine and warm-hearted residents, and a sincere and respectful culture which has a long history. A cleansing ceremony is held to explore the relationship between the religion and the residents who worship there. We will discuss the Jiande Temple, the main temple of Chiayi’s Guogou township, where the supreme deity is Prince Li. There is a folk tale of Jiande Temple known as the “Huo Deng Ye Xun”, which involves a ceremony of intangible assets. We first introduce the culture and lifestyle of the residents of Putai, Chiayi, as well as their environment and industry in order to further understand the history and social fabric of the Jiande Temple, and then thoroughly analyse the effects of the Fire Lamp Night Patrol ceremony on the values of the local society, and the significance of the event. Furthermore, we analyse how purely regional beliefs develop into intangible cultural assets and combine with the cultural policies of the temple, and stimulate community integration and development. Also, this article will through the discussion of the Firelight Nightwatch event and temple ceremony, also help to further increase the understanding and awareness of Chiayi’s Jiande Temple Fire Lamp Night Patrol festival.

Abstract:
This chapter details Xuan's path that led her from the jungle to London and back to Saigon in 1956. It narrates how she first met Lau in the maquis and then in England where they got married. It also talks about Xuan's studies in piano at the Royal College of Music and Lau's education at the London School of Economics and Oxford. The chapter discusses Xuan and Lau's return to southern Vietnam, where they had to keep a low profile teaching piano and raising four children. It mentions Xuan's resentment of the rule of Ngo Dinh Diem, which she described as a dictatorial regime whose injustice the people had to bear daily.
