Abstract:
Yagya is an ancient Hindu Vedic ritual aimed at ablution of the body and surroundings by reinforcing the natural equilibrium in various components of the body and ambient environment. Yagya is directed with selective medicinal preparation of herbs that is forfeited in the holy fire inflamed by specific woods along with the chant of distinct Vedic Hymes (mantras). Medicinal smoke significantly removes human pathogenic microbes. The vaporization and sublimation of ingredients of havan samagri in an inverted pyramid shaped yagya-kunda deliver vast amount of therapeutic and environmental benefits. The chemical transformation (into vapor or gaseous phase/ colloidal forms) of the herbal/ plant medicinal preparations in Hawan lead to release of medicinal phytochemicals; which affect many endogenous chemicals including hormonal axis. These fumes help in purifying the air and have anti-epileptic, anti-pyretic, anti-fungal, antibacterial effects amongst the numerous other benefits. Regular chanting of hyms helps in purifying the mind. Improvement has been noticed with respect to digestion, hypertension, mental agitation and sleep after chanting the Mantras.

Abstract:
Epileptic seizure is a neurological condition in which brief to long episodes of vigorous shaking, convulsions, blackouts, fainting, unresponsiveness, jerks, etc. occur in the patients. Current treatment approaches are anti-seizure medicines, which patients are bound to take throughout life. These medications are mostly not able to reverse or eradicate the condition. Vedic literature recommends Yagya as a therapy for mental conditions similar to mania, seizure, etc. Yagya-Therapy provides pulmonary inhalation of medicinal-smoke of multiple herbs (generated through oblation in fire along with chanting of Vedic hymns), which have the potential for seizure treatment. A case study is being reported wherein Yagya-Therapy was prescribed to an epileptic seizure patient. Before the start of Yagya-Therapy, the patient (Male/65 years) had been suffering from epileptic seizures (~8-10 episodes annually) since ~3 years (pre-observation). Subsequently, the patient has been doing Yagya-Therapy since past ~3.5 years, wherein only 2-3 episodes occurred during the first year, that too during sleep only, and after that no seizures have been experienced. All this time, the patient continued to take the allopathic medication that he was taking earlier. Thus, Yagya-Therapy can be an effective treatment option for epileptic seizure patients.

Abstract:
Sub-clinical hypothyroidism (SCH) is a condition in which Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) levels are increased, Thyroxine (T4) level is normal to low, and Triiodothyronine (T3) level is normal. Daily use of the synthetic thyroid hormone such as levothyroxine has been a standard approach to SCH. However, most modern approaches are unable to revert the condition to its normal level. Traditional approaches such as Yagya-Therapy can be an effective option in this regard. Yagya-Therapy provides pulmonary inhalation of medicinal-smoke of multiple herbs (generated through oblation in fire along with chanting of Vedic hymns), which have the potential for hormonal balance A case study is being reported wherein a patient (Male/60 years), who had been suffering from SCH since past 2 years and 4 months (pre-data), had been continuously taking allopathic medication for SCH, B12 complex and high blood pressure, and all this time TSH never became normal. The patient continued with the aforesaid medication, and took Yagya-Therapy for 3 months as an add-on therapy. Subsequently, after 4 months of completing Yagya-Therapy, post-data was recorded. Before Yagya-Therapy, TSH levels were very high, i.e. 4.79-11.82 µ/ml, which became normal (3.0 µ/ml) after the Yagya-Therapy. The earlier low levels of B12 (238-326 pg/ml) also increased to the upper side of the normal range (1034 pg/ml). Patient's other complaints such as tiredness, weakness, sleep issues were also resolved completely. Thus, the present study indicates the effectiveness of Yagya-Therapy in the treatment of SCH.

Abstract:
Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a malignant disease of the hematopoietic system that involves infiltration of blood, bone marrow, and other tissues by poorly differentiated hematopoietic cells. Although several treatment methodologies have been employed for the treatment of AML, complete remission and long-term management of this disease is still not achieved. Purpose: As per the classical texts of Ayurveda, the disease that resembles the symptoms associated with malignancy is called Arbuda, and when Rakta (Blood) Dhatu is primarily involved in its manifestation, it is called Raktarbuda, which has associated symptoms of bleeding tendency, anemia, etc. Arbuda may be produced by the vitiation of the three Doshas (i.e. Vata, Pitta and Kapha), and Rakta (blood), Mamsa (muscles) and Medas (fat) Dhatus; hence, treatments, including herbal medicines, that balance these are recommended for the management of the symptoms associated with Arbuda. Yagya Therapy provides pulmonary inhalation of medicinal smoke of multiple herbs (generated through oblation in fire along with chanting of Vedic hymns), which provide therapeutic benefits. The Vedic hymns also contribute to the positive restructuring of the psyche of the patient. Methods: A case report about a female patient, who was suffering from symptoms associated with AML, as well as other associated ailments, has been presented in this article. The patient was prescribed an integrated approach including Yagya Therapy (using an appropriate herbal formulation - hawan samagri), and some other Ayurvedic treatments like decoction of medicinal herbs, Ayurvedic medicines, dietary recommendations, etc. Results: Before starting the integrated approach including the Yagya Therapy (prescribed in the present study), the patient had several complaints including bleeding piles, constipation, vomiting, breathlessness, body pain, head-ache, sleeplessness, loss of appetite, weakness, stress, depression; after taking the integrated approach including Yagya Therapy, the complaints of bleeding piles, vomiting, breathlessness were completely resolved; there was about 75% relief in the complaints of constipation, loss of appetite, body pain; and there was notable relief (about 50%) in the remaining complaints as well. Overal, there was definite improvement in the contition of the patient. Conclusion: The integrated approach including Yagya Therapy showed encouraging results with regards to the management of symptoms associated with AML, as well as other associated ailments.

Abstract:
Background: Crohn’s disease (an inflammatory bowel disease - IBD) is a chronic gastrointestinal inflammatory disorder. Common symptoms include rectal bleeding, persistent diarrhea, abdominal pain, extreme fatigue, weight loss, constipation, etc. Although it is a widespread disease, its etiology and mechanism are still not properly understood. Hence, even though several treatment methodologies have been employed for the management of the symptoms associated with the Crohn's disease - side-effect free, long-term management of this disease is still not achieved. Purpose: As per the classical texts of Ayurveda, Pachak Pitta, Saman Vayu and Kledak Kapha are responsible for proper digestion; vikriti (vitiation) of these Doshas can lead to various types of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Hence, herbal medicines that balance these Doshas, as well as provide nourishment to the body tissues, can be recommended for the management of the observed symptoms of the disease in the present study. Methodology: A case report about a male patient, who was suffering from symptoms similar to those found in Crohn's disease, has been presented in this article. Abstract:
This opinion delves into India's profound connection with Agni, exploring its significance as a symbol of divinity, transformation, and guidance. The ancient practice of Yagya, a ritual centered around Agni, has evolved through time, maintaining its relevance in modern India. Agni's teachings are reflected in Vedic mantras and are interwoven into the fabric of daily life through rituals like Balivaishya Yagya. The manuscript discusses Agni's role in 16 Sanskaras, guiding individuals through life's stages while promoting values and virtues. It also explores Agni's metaphysical dimension, manifested as sacred eternal flames or lamps, revered by Yogis and the masses alike. The spiritual essence of Agni is emphasized through practices like Yogagni, Pranagni, and Mantragni. Additionally, Maharshi Aurobindo's perspective unveils Agni's deep symbolism in Vedic hymns as a bridge between humanity and divine realms. Ultimately, the opinion underscores that Agni is not a mere concept, but an integral thread woven into the tapestry of Indian life, continuing to inspire generations to embrace wisdom, virtue, and spiritual growth.

Abstract:
Background: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a disabling mental disorder, characterized by continous flow of unwanted mental events (thoughts, urges, etc.), accompanied by repetitive physical or mental acts to allay the fear caused by those events. Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) is a common endocrine disorder, characterized by various symptoms such as irregular menses, hyperinsulinemia, obesity, infertility, hirsutism, etc. Although several treatment methodologies have been employed for the treatment of these disorders, side-effect free, long-term, and simultaneous management of these diseases is still a challenge. Purpose: As per the classical texts of Ayurveda, the disease that resembles the symptoms associated with OCD, is Atatvaabhinivesha; It is caused by Dhi Vibhransh, i.e. vitiation of the Dhi element of Buddhi (intellect), and is characterized by the vitiation of one or more of the three Doshas, i.e. Vata, Pitta and Kapha. As per the classical texts of Ayurveda, the disease that resembles the symptoms associated with PCOD, is characterized by the vitiation of Kapha Dosha, along with Vata Dushti (vitiation). Hence, treatments that balance these Doshas, as well as have Rasayan (provide rejuvenation and nourishment to the body tissues) properties, are recommended for the management of the symptoms associated with these diseases. Methods: A case report about a female patient, who was suffering from symptoms associated with both OCD (since past 19 years) and PCOD, as well as other associated ailments, has been presented in this article. The patient was prescribed an integrated approach including Yagya Therapy (using an appropriate herbal formulation - hawan samagri), and some other Ayurvedic treatments like decoction of medicinal herbs, Ayurvedic medicines, dietary recommendations, etc. Results: Before starting the integrated approach including the Yagya Therapy (prescribed in the present study), the patient had several complaints including irregular menses, hirsutism, hypertension, hyperinsulinemia, high serum testosterone level, sleeplessness, emotional weakness, depressive and obsessive thoughts, mood swings; after taking the integrated approach including Yagya Therapy, the complaint of PCOD was completely resolved, and the menses had become regular; complaint of vomiting was completely resolved, and blood pressure remains normal now; there was about 75% relief in the complaints of sleeplessness, loss of appetite and weakness; and there was notable relief in most of the other complaints as well. Overall, there was definite improvement in the contition of the patient. Conclusion: The integrated approach including Yagya Therapy showed encouraging results with regards to the simultaneous management of the symptoms associated with OCD and PCOD, as well as other associated ailments.

Abstract:
Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee is a major cause of mobility impairment. Therapeutic interventions conventionally employed for OA include the use of physiotherapy, patient education and weight control, drug therapy that includes non-opioid analgesics, topical analgesics, opioid analgesics and intra articular steroid injection. At times, cases of OA also extend on to knee arthroplasty (knee- replacement) surgery too. However, side-effect free, long-term management of this disease still remains a challenge. Purpose: Classical Ayurveda locks in the symptoms of Osteoarthritis as Janu Sandhigata Vata, where Janu refers to knee, sandhi is joint and Vata is the air element permeating the knee joint – in this case,.With advancing age, the influence of Vata Dosha increases, resulting in the gradual degeneration of the body. Sandhigata Vata can be defined as a disease of sandhi (articulation) with symptoms of - sandhi shool(shola- pain) (joint pain), sandhi shotha (shotha - inflammation) (inflamation in joints), etc. Hence, the medicinal herbs that balance the Vata Dosha, as well as provide nourishment to the body tissues, are used in the Ayurvedic treatment of OA of the knee. A number of medicinal herbs have been found to be effective in this regard. Yagya Therapy provides pulmonary inhalation of medicinal smoke of multiple herbs (generated through oblation in fire along with chanting of Vedic hymns), which have the potential for the treatment of OA of the knee, and associated difficulties. Methodology: A case report about a male patient, who was suffering from Osteoarthritis (OA) in the right knee, as well as other associated difficulties, has been presented in this article. The patient was prescribed an integrated approach pivoting onYagya Therapy (using an appropriate herbal formulation - hawan-samagri), and some other Ayurvedic treatments like decoction (kwath) of medicinal herbs, Ayurvedic medicines, dietary restrictions, etc. Discussion: Before taking up the integrated approach pivoting on Yagya Therapy (prescribed in the present study), the patient suffered from excruciating knee-pain that resulted in a limping gait. Post-initiation of the prescribed treatment the pain issue accompanied by limping gait is seen to be almost completely resolved. The patient is able to manage long walks up to half a kilometer without experiencing discomfort. . Earlier, the patient had to take support while changing posture from sitting to standing, and vice-versa; now he can change posture without support; Prior to therapy, patient was not able to sit cross legged on floor, which is an integral part of Indian lifestyle – now he does so, sans any discomfort. There is a definite amelioration in the patient’s pain management regime. Conclusion: The present study shows encouraging result with regards to the effectiveness of integrated approach including Yagya Therapy in the treatment of symptoms associated with OA of the knee, and associated complexities.
