Abstract:

Introduction Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a physical and mental disorder in which long-term fatigue is the main symptom. CFS patients are often accompanied by functional gastrointestinal diseases (FGIDs), which lead to decreased quality of life and increased fatigue. Prolong-life-with-nine-turn-method (PLWNT) is a kind of physical and mental exercise. Its operation includes adjusting the mind, breathing and cooperating with eight self-rubbing methods and one upper body rocking method. PLWNT was used to improve the digestive function in ancient China and to treat FGIDs such as functional dyspepsia and irritable bowel syndrome in modern times. Previous studies have shown that PLWNT can reduce fatigue in patients with CFS. But it is unclear whether the effect of PLWNT on CFS fatigue is related to gastrointestinal function. The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between PLWNT and fatigue and gastrointestinal function in patients with CFS. Methods This study is a non-inferiority randomized controlled trial (RCT). The whole study period is 38 weeks, including 2 weeks of baseline evaluation, 12 weeks of intervention and 6 months of follow-up. Ninety-six CFS patients will be stratified random assigned to the intervention group (PLWNT) and the control group (cognitive behavior treatment) in the ratio of 1:1 through the random number table generated by SPSS. In the evaluation of results, Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory-20 (MFI-20), Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS), Bristol Stool Form Scale (BSFS), and Short Form 36 item health survey (SF-36) will be evaluated at week 0 (baseline), week 6 (midterm), week 12 (endpoint) and month 9 (follow up). The intestinal flora will be evaluated at week 0 (baseline) and week 12 (endpoint). The data results will be processed by statistical experts. The data analysis will be based on the intention to treat principle and per-protocol analysis. In the efficacy evaluation, repeated measurement analysis of variance will be used for data conforming to normal distribution or approximate normal distribution. The data which do not conform to the analysis of repeated measurement variance will be analyzed by the generalized estimation equation Linear discriminant analysis will be used to clarify the difference species of intestinal flora. The significance level sets as 5%. The safety of interventions will be evaluated after each treatment session. Discussion This trial will provide evidence to PLWNT exerting positive effects on fatigue and gastrointestinal function of CFS. It will further explore whether the improvement of PLWNT on CFS fatigue is related to gastrointestinal function. Makala haya yanahusu nafasi ya lugha ya Kiswahili katika mfumo wa elimu ya juu nchini. Msingi wake unatokana na ujumuishaji mno wa kimapokeo kwamba kila kinachofundishwa kwa ‘Kiswahili’ ni lugha ya Kiswahili. Uchambuzi wa sera na maandiko mengine yanayohusiana ama na lugha na elimu au lugha na utamaduni ulifanyika na kuwasilishwa kinathari. Vilevile, maudhui ya kozi za taaluma za Kiswahili zinazofundishwa Chuo Kikuu cha Dar es Salaam (CKD) hususani katika Taasisi ya Taaluma za Kiswahili (TATAKI) yalifanyika. Matokeo ya uchambuzi huo yamedhihirisha kwamba lugha ya Kiswahili imevuka mipaka ya kufundishwa kama somo na kuwa lugha ya kufundishia taaluma za Kiswahili katika ngazi za shahada ya awali, umahiri na uzamivu. Hii ina maana kuwa lugha ya Kiswahili inatumika katika uzalishaji wa maarifa yanayotokana na tafiti. Tafiti ni sehemu ya masharti ya kukamilisha shahada za umahiri na uzamivu katika vyuo vikuu duniani. Licha ya ombwe la sera ya lugha ambalo ni kikwazo kikubwa cha upanuzi wa matumizi ya Kiswahili katika elimu ya juu nchini, mtazamo wa makala haya ni kwamba Kiswahili kinatumika kufundishia. Wito wa makala haya ni kwamba wigo wa matumizi ya Kiswahili kufundishia elimu ya juu upanuliwe katika nyuga zingine za kitaaluma baada ya kuonesha ufanisi katika taaluma za Kiswahili. Wito huu unatolewa kutokana na urazini thabiti kwamba Kiswahili bado hakitumiki kufundishia elimu ya sekondari. Maoni ya makala haya ni kwamba kutokutumika kwa Kiswahili katika ngazi hiyo, ni tatizo la wafanya maamuzi kuhusu lugha na elimu. Hatua madhubuti inayopaswa kuchukuliwa kwa mahali pa kwanza ni kuipa lugha ya Kiswahili hadhi ya kuwa lugha ya kufundishia elimu ya juu na elimu ya sekondari. Hatua ya pili ni kuhakikisha kwamba katiba ya nchi inaitambua lugha ya Kiswahili kuwa ni lugha ya Taifa. Hii itasaidia kuhalalisha upangaji wa rasilimali za kuendeleza lugha hiyo na kuchochea wigo mpana wa kufundishia kwa maslahi ya taifa.

Abstract:

China is an ancient civilization with a history of 5,000 years, with a long history and many ethnic groups. From the Han Dynasty to the middle of the Tang Dynasty, there were "baixi" (百戏) and "Can Jun xi" (参军)). During the Middle and late Tang Dynasty, opera was gradually formed. During the Song-Jin dynasties, opera developed rapidly and laid the foundation for the Yuan Ming Opera. This article, firstly, examines the historical and cultural background of the Yuan Zaju and analyzes the reasons for their popularity in feudal society; secondly, the plot structure of the Yuan Zaju has a linear course. The main structural scheme of Yuan-Zaju and its modern social influence.

Abstract:

Main purpose of this research is trying to understand food likeliness of Taiwan college students, and probe whether these food are healthy. Three survey steps are taken as: step 1, market survey for what kind of foods are selling around the campuses; step 2, questionnaire investigation for students food preference; step 3, analyzing whether these favorite foods are healthy or not. The result shows: major consideration for students food selection are “taste” and “price”; 63% of students are taking food or snacks late at night at least once a week. Top three most favorite foods are: Taiwanese fries (yan su ji), carbon grilled chicken and fried fish steaks. Quantities of these foods are small, prices are low, and easy access from roadside food stands. Problems of them are high calories, easy to accumulate free radical in human body, plus insanitary food processing environment. They are harmful to student health. We suggest Taiwan government take it seriously.

Abstract:

Durante o desenvolvimento ou modificação de um software, deve ser garantido que o produto final chegue ao usuário com a menor quantidade de erros possíveis. Métodos de predição de defeitos em software podem ser usados para isso. Neste artigo é apresentado um estudo utilizando, para a solução do problema de identificação de erros Just-In-Time (JIT), rede neural artificial (Artificial Neural Network - ANN) e árvore de decisão (Decision Tree - DT). As bases de dados utilizadas como treino, teste e validação neste trabalho foram as mesmas utilizadas e compiladas por [Kamei et al. 2013]. Os resultados obtidos, tanto com a ANN e com a DT são em média superiores aos trabalhos de [Kamei et al. 2013] e [Yang et al. 2017].

Abstract:

En este trabajo se presenta un modelo computacional para el diseño óptimo de configuración de semáforos basado en la combinación del modelo de tráfico LQM (Link Queue Model) desarrollado recientemente por Wen-Long Jin (2013) con una técnica de optimización denominada Recocido Simulado. El modelo LQM conduce a un sistema de ecuaciones diferenciales ordinarias no lineales de primer orden teniendo tantas incógnitas (densidades medias espaciales) como tramos existan en la red. Se ha adoptado el mencionado modelo de tráfico ya que ha demostrado una gran efectividad balanceando adecuadamente la velocidad computacional, la estabilidad numérica y el realismo físico de sus predicciones. Por otra parte, se utiliza el método de Recocido Simulado como técnica de optimización ya que el problema analizado es no convexo, es decir la función objetivo puede presentar varios mínimos (o máximos) locales. Abstract:

The article examines the elements of mysticism and folklore in the novel Laughter and Tears (2021) by Chinese writer Liu Zhenyun (born 1958). In modern Chinese literature, there are many works in which everyday reality is described with the help of mystical and folklore elements. Examples of this kind of narration are the prose of Mo Yan, Jia Pingwa, Chen Zhongshi, Han Shaogong. In Liu Zhenyun’s novel Laughter and Tears mysticism and folklore are not so much auxiliary means as a kind of framework and play a plot-forming role. The legend of Hua Erniang, the legend of the White Snake, the Yanjin “tales”, the reincarnations of the souls of the dead, the relocation of ghosts into the bodies of people, traditional divination practices — all these are the tools by which the fates of people, ghosts and immortals intersect and merge in the novel. This kind of narration perfectly reflects the current state of folk culture and customs in the Chinese hinterland, which in the novel is represented by Yanjin. Liu Zhenyun skilfully uses folk tales and mystical elements to overcome the barriers between reality, imagination and fantasy, blurring the line between life and death. Having studied the motives of the author’s use of elements of mysticism and folklore in the novel Laughter and Tears, it can be argued that they are the driving force of the narrative and are pivotal for the plot of the novel, developing and deepening it’s theme about the fate of people and interpersonal relationships.

Abstract:

Abstract Platform Vortex Induced Motion (VIM) is an important cause of fatigue damage on risers and mooring lines connected to deep-draft semi-submersible floating platforms. The VIM design criteria have been typically obtained from towing tank model testing. Recently, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis has been used to assess the VIM response and to augment the understanding of physical model test results. A joint industry effort has been conducted for developing and verifying a CFD modeling practice for the semi-submersible VIM through a working group of the Reproducible Offshore CFD JIP. The objectives of the working group are to write a CFD modeling practice document based on existing practices validated for model test data, and to verify the written practice by blind calculations with five CFD practitioners acting as verifiers. This paper presents the working group’s verification process, consisting of two stages. In the initial verification stage, the verifiers independently performed free-decay tests for 3-DOF motions (surge, sway, yaw) to check if the mechanical system in the CFD model is the same as in the benchmark test. Additionally, VIM simulations were conducted at two current headings with a reduced velocity within the lock-in range, where large sway motion responses are expected,. In the final verification stage, the verifiers performed a complete set of test cases with small revisions of their CFD models based on the results from the initial verification. The VIM responses from these blind calculations are presented, showing close agreement with the model test data.

Abstract:

Durante las últimas cinco décadas, Argentina experimentó un desempeño económico deficiente, marcado por múltiples crisis macroeconómicas y la incapacidad de mantener una estrategia productiva coherente. En el siglo XXI se observaron dos etapas diferentes. La primera se inició tras la severa crisis del régimen de convertibilidad, sobre fines de 2001, y permitió recuperar el crecimiento, la creación de empleo, la producción y mejorar la distribución el ingreso. Esa fase llegó a su fin en el año 2011, tras lo cual Argentina ya no pudo crecer de manera sostenida y experimentó un deterioro en sus indicadores sociales. En años recientes, los desequilibrios macroeconómicos se intensificaron, con la aceleración de la inflación como uno de los síntomas más evidentes. A diferencia de lo ocurrido en la década de 1980, los países de la región muestran, salvo excepciones puntuales, estabilidad y crecimiento, aunque a tasas relativamente bajas. La crisis argentina es específica y sus causas deben ser buscadas en la gestión de las políticas públicas y el funcionamiento del sistema político. En la campaña electoral de 2023, la polarización se ha intensificado y el hartazgo provocado por la crisis ha llevado a que los debates políticos queden encerrados en temas recurrentes. Esto nos lleva a interpretar el desempeño argentino a partir de la metáfora que propone El eterno resplandor de una mente sin recuerdos, la gran película protagonizada por Jim Carrey y Kate Winslet, en el que la angustia por un fracaso amoroso se enfrentaba mediante una extraña técnica que consistía en borrar de la mente los recuerdos de la relación fallida. Sin embargo, esta técnica solo lograba éxitos parciales, lo que llevaba a repetir la misma secuencia de sucesos y los mismos errores. En este trabajo se presenta una caracterización del desempeño económico argentino y finaliza con un análisis de los posibles escenarios tras la victoria de Javier Milei en las elecciones presidenciales celebradas el 19 de noviembre de 2023 y sus primeras medidas de gobierno.
