Full text
Abstract:
The wave force dose not considered at the formula of mooring ship cable force in the Load Code for Harbor Engineering[JTJ215-98]. This brought the inconvenience to the calculation of designed cable force for mooring ship. By means of analysis for the laboratory model test result of mooring ship cable force under wave effect, Wave force formula of mooring ship under wave effect was gained. This formula well reflected the influence of ship size, ship load , ship rolling period, ship pitch period, wave period and wave height. The formula can be used in the calculation of standard value of mooring ship cable force under the wave effection, also it can be used to instruct the wave model test for mooring ship.

Abstract:
Xiao Hong (1911-1942), original name Zhang Naiying, lived through the first half of the twentieth century, leaving behind the image of a socially engaged writer, sensitive to the issues connected to the people of her troubled homeland, in the North East of China. After an initial enthusiastic reception of her most representative novel, The Field of Life and Death (1935) in the literary arena, she was later neglected by Chinese critics, and excluded from the Maoist literary canon, as her fictional creatures and her works did not fit the optimistic spirit and the class consciousness requested to the intellectuals of the time. She was then re-discovered only in the 1980s, when both in China and the West her works have been re-read with a feminist or cultural studies approach. In this paper I explore the personal and literary forms of escape underpinning her figure and literary production. Exile, escape, uncertainty are the key words which can adequately describe Xiao Hong’s life and writing, in which, as Yan Haiping (2006, 136) states, one can find the sense of a ‘mobile violence’, due to her choices both as a woman (who revolted against her traditionally bound clan) and as a writer, who adopted a quite innovative, fragmented style combining personal memories and a crude and yet poetic realism. The literary practice which mainly expresses her constant escape from stereotypes, ignorance and conventional fetters is the representation of a dislocated female body subject to any kind of violence and humiliation: Xiao Hong’s ‘placeless bodies’ (Yan Haiping 2006, 146) are tangible marks of subjugation but also of resilience against a gendered destiny, which let her construct her literary and personal identity on a popular standpoint.

Abstract:
Thomas R. Hoye of the University of Minnesota devised (Nature 2013, 501, 531) the reagent 2, that cyclized to a benzyne that in turn dehydrogenated the alkane 1 to the alkene 3, and 4. Abigail G. Doyle of Princeton University developed (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2013, 135, 12990) a reagent combination for the allylic fluorination of a terminal alkene 5 to the branched product 6. Yan Zhang and Jianbo Wang of Peking University oxidized (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2013, 52, 10573) the methyl group of 7 to give the nitrile 8. Hanmin Huang of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics found (Org. Lett. 2013, 15, 3370) conditions for the carbonylation of the benzylic site of 9, leading to coupling with 10 to form the amide 11. Yu Rao of Tsinghua University effected (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2013, 52, 13606) the direct methoxylation of 12, to give 13. Pd-mediated methoxylation had previously been described (Chem. Sci. 2013, 4, 4187) by Bing-Feng Shi of Zhejiang University. M. Christina White of the University of Illinois, Urbana found (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2013, 135, 14052) that with variant ligands on the Fe catalyst, the oxidation of 14 could be directed selectively to either 15 or 16. C–H bonds can also be converted to C–N bonds. Sukbok Chang of KAIST oxidized (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2013, 135, 12861) the unsaturated ester 17 with 18 to form the enamide 18. Gong Chen of Pennsylvania State University cyclized (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2013, 52, 11124) the amide 20 to the γ-lactam 21. Professor Shi reported (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2013, 52, 13588) a related approach to β-lactams. Ethers are easily oxidized. Taking advantage of this, Yun Liang of Hunan Normal University coupled (Synthesis 2013, 45, 3137) the bromoalkyne 23 with tetrahydrofuran 22 to give 24. Guangbin Dong of the University of Texas, Austin devised (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2013, 135, 17747) a protocol for the β-arylation of ketones, including the preparation of 27 by the coupling of 25 with 26.

Abstract:
This chapter explores Shou-Wu Zhang's minicourse on Faltings heights and L-functions. It essentially consists of three parts. The first part discusses conjectures and results in the literature which give bounds, or formulae in terms of L-functions, for “Faltings heights.” The authors also mention various applications of such conjectures and results. The second part is devoted to the work of Yuan–Zhang in which they proved the averaged Colmez conjecture. Here, the authors detail the main ideas and concepts used in their proof. The third part focuses on the work of Yuan–Zhang in the function field world. Therein they compute special values of higher derivatives of certain automorphic L-functions in terms of self-intersection numbers of Drinfeld–Heegner cycles on the moduli stack of shtukas. The result of Yuan–Zhang might be viewed as a higher Gross–Zagier/Chowla–Selberg formula in the function field setting. The authors then motivate and explain the philosophy that Chowla–Selberg type formulae are special cases of Gross–Zagier type formulae coming from identities between geometric and analytic kernels.

"Introduction." In Arithmetic and Geometry, edited by Gisbert Wüstholz and Clemens Fuchs. Princeton University Press, 2019. http://dx.doi.org/10.23943/princeton/9780691193779.003.0001.

Abstract:
This introductory chapter provides an overview of the three topics discussed in this book: Shimura varieties, hyperelliptic continued fractions and generalized Jacobians, and Faltings heights and L-functions. These topics were covered during the Alpbach Summerschool 2016, the celebration of the tenth session with outstanding speakers covering very different research areas in arithmetic and Diophantine geometry. The first course was given by Peter Scholze on local Shimura varieties and features recent results concerning the local Langlands conjecture. It considers the unpublished theorem which states that for each local Shimura datum, there exists a so-called local Shimura variety, which is a (pro-)rigid analytic space. The second course was given by Umberto Zannier and deals with a rather classical theme but from a modern point of view. His course is on hyperelliptic continued fractions and generalized Jacobians, using the classical Pell equation as the starting point. The third course was given by Shou-Wu Zhang and originates in the famous Chowla–Selberg formula, which was taken up by Gross and Zagier in 1984 to relate values of the L-function for elliptic curves with the height of Heegner points on the curves. Building on this work, X. Yuan, Shou-Wu Zhang, and Wei Zhang succeeded in proving the Gross–Zagier formula on Shimura curves and shortly later they verified the Colmez conjecture on average. In the course, Zhang presents new interesting aspects of the formula.

The residential building patterns are according to the living behavior, climate consideration, environmental requirement and market demands. Our previous studies have shown that sunshine regulation is by far the most important factor in the generation of the residential building pattern since 1980. This paper attempts to make a comprehensive evaluation to see the generating mechanism of the residential morphological patterns. Ten residential plots from two cities located in different climate zones of Xi’an and Nanjing are evaluated. Five factors, namely, the type of the apartment, plot FAR, land coverage, sunshine regulations and spatial characteristics of plot pattern, will be used as comprehensive evaluation indicators in the comparison. The study reveals how these factors interplay in the generation of the observed plot patterns and which factor is most important in this process. If the sunshine regulations were the key factor, how different the plot patterns in different climate zones and latitudes would have varied. Through evaluating generating mechanism we could find out the key generating factors, which is useful as the references for design. Abstract:
Abstract A great portion of the produced oil currently comes from mature fields, reason why the increase in oil production of current reservoirs is the main objective of oil companies. Thermal enhanced oil recovery processes have been studied, implemented and improved over the years. In the last decade there has been significant interest in the light oil air injection (LOAI) process since the successful implementation of the process known as High Pressure Air Injection in the Buffalo Field (USA), which is a variation from the air injection process in light oil, applicable to deep reservoirs with low permeability and porosity. Proof of this are the West Hackberry Field (USA), more than five commercial projects along the Willinston Basin (USA) and recently a pilot in the Zhong Yuan Field (China). Additionally, feasibility studies have also been initiated and performed in Mexico, Argentina and Colombia. This article proposes screening criteria for the selection of potential light oil reservoirs to be candidates for air injection, as well as a general methodology for the prioritization of the reservoirs with the highest LOAI implementation potential. Said methodology employs screening criteria, analogies and numerical simulation. The first part goes beyond the binary screening by assigning a weight to each one of the criteria, therefore resulting in a numerical ranking. For the analogies the reservoirs in which the technology has already been applied are grouped in four group types, against which the field on evaluation is compared. There is also a numerical simulation in 1D – 2D, where the injectivity with or without pressurization is evaluated, as well as the displacement stability. Additionally a multi-criteria evaluation method is used to select the best candidate.
