Abstract:

Production is a very important process for a business that produces products. In a culinary business, for example, production is a determining factor so that the culinary products produced can be distributed to stores for sale. The culinary business is mostly done by small and medium businesses. One of them is UKM Yandi which a produces potato flakes as its culinary products. UKM Yandi distributes a potato flakes to 10 minimarkets in Padang every week. The problem that occurs is often the amount of production is greater than the demand of the minimarket while the remaining stock in the minimarket is still large, so there is often a buildup of products on the minimarket because it is not sold. This research provides a solution for UKM Yandi to forecast the production of potato flakes using the Fuzzy Tsukamoto approach, using input variables, the remaining stock at the minimarket in the previous week and the request submitted by the minimarket for the following week, while the output variable is the amount of production carried out by UKM Yandi. This research makes a web-based application that can be used by UKM Yandi owners to forecast the production of potato flakes, so they can be accessed from anywhere. The results of this research are able to help and facilitate UKM Yandi in forecasting the production of potato flakes because it produces a number with a certain number of packets to be produced

Abstract:

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia is very high, so that maternal health problems are a national problem. This problem needs to get top priority. The health of pregnant women is crucial for the growth of the fetus they contain. Pregnancy can cause a decrease in maternal resistance. This decrease will trigger the arrival of various diseases. For that we need a system that can identify uterine diseases quickly and accurately. This study aims to identify uterine diseases in pregnant women based on symptoms experienced. This identification is the initial information that is useful to support the decision to take preventative action. Data processed in this study were 20 patients. This data is sourced from the Sungai Melati City Clinic which goes to an obstetrician, Dr. Yandi Zulkarnaen, SpOG. The method used in processing data is Android-based Forward Chaining. The results of this study include the name of the disease, description of the disease, and treatment solutions. After testing and calculating the level of system accuracy, a good degree of accuracy is obtained from the system calculation results with an expert decision of 90% of the 20 test data. Based on the level of accuracy, the expert system is very precise in identifying uterine diseases quickly and accurately.

Abstract:

Translocations play an important role in the conservation of endangered species, and successful translocations are dependent on research into their response to such manipulations. The development of Hamersley Iron’s Yandi Iron Ore Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia provided a unique opportunity to study the response of the western pebble-mound mouse, Pseudomys chapmani, to translocation. The translocation tested the effect of levels of individual familiarity within translocation groups on translocation success. A key part of the translocation involved the use of competent burrow systems in empty mounds. Success was measured by comparing the long-term survival, reproductive activity and site fidelity between treatments. Of 101 mice translocated, 65% were recaptured at least once post-release. Both the translocated and resident non-translocated groups had experienced a significant loss of individuals after 35 days; however, estimates of rates of survival after 176 days had increased to levels equivalent to those immediately following release. Eight mice were recaptured at, or close to, their points of release 6 months post-release. Reproductive activity was recorded in 13 of the 29 (44%) translocated females recaptured post-release, which was equivalent to that observed in non-translocated mice. Familiarity within translocation groups did not appear to affect translocation success as all treatments had similar rates of survival. This study demonstrated that successful translocations of P. chapmani are possible given a competent burrow system.

Abstract Insights by Professor Michio Yanai on tropical waves, which have been vital ingredients for progress in tropical meteorology over the last half-century, are recollected. This study revisits various aspects of research on tropical waves over the last five decades to examine, in Yanai’s words, “the nature of ‘A-scale’ tropical wave disturbances and the interaction of the waves and the ‘B-scale’ phenomena (cloud clusters),” the fundamental problem posed by Yanai at the design phase of the GARP Atlantic Tropical Experiment (GATE) in 1971. The various contributions of Michio Yanai to the current understanding of the dynamics of the tropical atmosphere are briefly reviewed to show how his work has led to several current theories in this field.

Abstract:

AbstractStudies on mating ecology and sex allocation in fig-parasitizing wasps ovipositing from outside the fig have given valuable insights into known factors that are responsible for the theory of sex ratio. Similarly, internally ovipositing fig-parasitizing wasps and fig-pollinating wasps provide interesting models for comparative analysis. In addition to the fig-pollinating wasp Eupristina sp., we found that Ficus curtipes hosts two species of internally ovipositing fig-parasitizing wasps: D. yangi and Lipothymus sp. Eupristina sp. males showed less aggression. Eupristina sp. has wingless males that mate only within the natal patch, providing excellent examples of full local-mate competition. D. yangi males showed high levels of aggression and lethal combat. D. yangi has winged males but mate mostly within the natal patch. Only a few matings occur after male dispersal. Its sex ratio was lower than the prediction of partial local mate competition theory. Wingless male Lipothymus sp., which mate partly after dispersal, did not present fatal fight. Therefore, the mating behaviour of D. yangi and Lipothymus sp. did not follow predicted patterns, based on wing morph. The mating pattern of D. yangi and Lipothymus sp. should follow the partial local mate competition theory. Furthermore, there was not a significant correlation between the proportion of males and the proportion of fruit parasitized in both winged D. yangi males and wingless Lipothymus sp. males.

Abstract - High employee performance is important in achieving organizational goals, especially in the world of public services that can be focused again is at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) General Ahmad Yani Metro whose employee performance of which most (76.8%) are civil servant (PNS) is in the spotlight, because based on the results of the 2017 annual report and news coverage related to service to patients, General Ahmad Yani Metro Hospital received complaints from patients and visitors. This research itself aims to determine the effect of leadership and emotional intelligence on the performance of PNS General Ahmad Yani Metro Public Hospital. Processing research data obtained from 215 civil servants (PNS) in General Ahmad Yani Metro Hospital with data analysis techniques using multiple linear regression methods and the research instrument is a questionnaire. The results support all proposed hypotheses: Leadership has a positive effect on the performance of civil servants in General Ahmad Yani Metro Hospital, Emotional Intelligence has a positive effect on the Performance of Civil Servants in General Ahmad Yani Metro Hospital, and Emotional Leadership and Intelligence together positively influences the performance of Civil Servants in General Ahmad Yani Metro Hospital Keywords: Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Employee Performance Abstrak - Kinerja pegawai yang tinggi adalah hal yang penting dalam pencapaian tujuan organisasi, terutama dalam dunia layanan publik yang dapat difokuskan lagi adalah di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Jenderal Ahmad Yani Metro yang kinerja pegawainya yang mana sebagian besar (76,8%) adalah pegawai negeri sipil (PNS) menjadi sorotan, karena berdasarkan hasil laporan tahunan 2017 dan pemberitaan media masa terkait dengan pelayanan pada pasien, RSUD Jenderal Ahmad Yani Metro mendapatkan komplain dari pasien dan pengunjungnya. Penelitian ini sendiri bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepemimpinan dan kecerdasan emosional terhadap kinerja PNS RSUD Jendral Ahmad Yani Metro. Pengolahan data penelitian diperoleh dari 215 pegawai negeri sipil (PNS) di RSUD Jenderal Ahmad Yani Metro dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan metode regresi linier berganda dan instrumen penelitiannya adalah dengan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian mendukung semua hipotesis yang diajukan yaitu Kepemimpinan berpengaruh positif pada Kinerja PNS di RSUD Jendral Ahmad Yani Metro, Kecerdasan Emosional berpengaruh positif pada Kinerja PNS di RSUD Jenderal Ahmad Yani Metro, serta Kepemimpinan dan Kecerdasan Emosional secara bersama-sama berpengaruh positif pada Kinerja PNS di RSUD Jenderal Ahmad Yani Metro. In analyzing the data, theory of Fargo (2007) and Jay (1992) are used to describe lexical form of dirty words. The result of this research reveals that those are five categories out of ten found. There are 9,5% of obscenity, 40% of slang, 3% crusing, 27% of epithets, and 20,5% of scatology. This shows that slang and Epithets are the most used in Miki Yoshikawa’s Yanki-kun to Megane-chan volume 1 comic.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan strategi pemasaran yang dilakukan oleh PT Pegadaian (Persero) Cabang Syariah Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru dilihat dari konsep bauran pemasaran (marketing mix) dan untuk mengetahui tingkat penerapan karakteristik pemasaran syariah di PT Pegadaian (Persero) Cabang Syariah Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru. Subjek penelitian ini adalah nasabah dan karyawan PT Pegadaian (Persero) Cabang Syariah Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah nasabah dan karyawan PT Pegadaian (Persero) Cabang Syariah Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru. Nasabah PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Cabang Syariah Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru berjumlah 2.310 orang, sedangkan karyawan PT Pegadaian (Persero) Cabang Syariah Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru berjumlah 9 orang. Sampel untuk populasi nasabah berjumlah 96 orang, diperoleh dengan menggunakan rumus slovin. Sedangkan sampel untuk populasi karyawan diambil dari seluruh karyawan yang berjumlah 9 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah dekriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: a) Strategi pemasaran yang dilakukan oleh PT Pegadaian (Persero) Cabang Syariah Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru berjalan dengan sangat baik, karena nilai Persentase (P) berada pada interval 81% – 100%, yaitu 83%. b) Penerapan karakteristik pemasaran syariah pada PT Pegadaian (Persero) Cabang Syariah Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru berjalan dengan sangat baik, karena nilai Persentase (P) berada pada interval 81% – 100%, yaitu 98%.

Parenting principles are also applied in PAUD. Good parenting at an early age will make children grow up well in the future. A person's mental health problems are often related to early parenting. On this basis, counseling on positive parenting for Bunda and Yanda in early childhood education was carried out. The socialization activities were carried out in Dengok Village, Padangan District, Bojonegoro Regency. Activities carried out to provide solutions to existing parenting problems. Counseling is carried out in two days at intervals of one week to provide opportunities for Bunda and Yanda in PAUD to look for parenting problems in the field so far. The results obtained are quite encouraging because of the increased understanding of Mothers and Yanda in PAUD about positive parenting methods which in turn will make children happier and improve mental health.

H-point standard addition method (HPSAM) is developed for simultaneous determination of eosin-Yand ponceau-s in micellar media. Nickel chloride (NiCl2) is used as chromogenic reagent for complexes formation of eosin-Yand ponceau-Sfood colorants. The measurements were carried out using sodium lauryl sulphate as a surfactant, in buffered solution at pH 6.0. The concentration range of 0.115-2.53 μg/mL of eosin-Yand 0.159-3.80 μg/mL of ponceau-S. The proposed procedures have been applied successfully for the simultaneous determination of eosin-Yand ponceau-Sin synthetic binary mixtures and real samples.

After simulating climate scenarios using incremental scenarios, the impact of future climate change on water requirement of winter wheat, summer corn and cotton in Yanqi basin was analyzed. The results showed that, (1) There was linearly proportional relationship between the crop water demand and increased temperature; when the future temperature rose 1-4 °C, the relative and absolute increase of water requirement of summer corn and winter wheat were more than that of cotton; the absolute and relative growth of water requirement of cotton was smaller. (2) In the different region, the relative increase of water requirement in Yanqi County was more than that of any other county; the relative growth of Hejing County is smaller 0.5%-47.21% than that of Yanqi County. The absolute increase of water requirement in Hejing County was the largest; the absolute increase in Heshuo County was the minimum, smaller 0.413-2.955mm than that of Hejing county. (3) Climate warming impacted on irrigation water demand of summer corn and cotton seriously, with the minimum impact on that of winter wheat. When the temperature rose 1-4°C, total irrigation water requirement in Yanqi basin increased by 6.02, 13.99, 20.87 and 28.17 ×108 m3. It can be seen that, it is appropriate to reduce summer corn planting area in the Yanqi basin, especially in Hejing county in the dry years.

Abstract This paper handles a unique example of religious tolerance and Christian-Muslim coexistence in one of the most conservative Islamic societies; the Saudi Arabian society, by going through the story of Khawaja Yeni, the Greek merchant who lived in the city of Jeddah in the middle of the twentieth century, integrated with its people, formed extensive relations with its Muslim people, and was able to remain vivid in the collective memory of its inhabitants despite his death has Christian decades ago. The Yeni model represents a model of mutual understanding and coexistence between Islamic and Christian cultures. It would not have mattered if the story had been in another Islamic country, but it was in Saudi Arabia and in the city of Jeddah, which is part of the emirate of Mecca, the holy capital of Muslims, this has made the story of Yeni eye-catching and intriguing. Therefore, I saw fit to give that subject a special care and a thorough inquest in order to capture the details of the social, cultural and religious life experienced and interacted with by this Greek merchant. In the absence of official documentation of the details of public life in the mid-20th century, the stories and news about Yeni remained only circulating amongst the inhabitants of Jeddah, and were not written or collected in an academic research that would have saved them from loss and made them available for specialists to study and analyze. Therefore, I relied on the method of “oral history’s documentation” and I gathered these narratives from the mouths of the men who lived and worked with Yeni. Then I analyzed these narratives and drafted them in an academic form that brings together all the narratives from popular circles about the personality of this wonderful Christian who gave a wonderful example of coexistence and integration into a very conservative Islamic society.

While most of the chapters address specific areas and discuss timely issues, in this prologue I will describe some of Professor Yanai’s contributions during the early period of his career from my own point of view. As this is a personal reminiscence, I would like to emphasize how Professor Yanai influenced me. Both Professor Yanai and I became graduate students at the University of Tokyo to begin our career as meteorologists in 1956 and 1957, respectively. Since we studied and worked together so closely for a long time, in this article I will call him Yanai-san as I have done in our personal interactions.

Ahmad Yani Airport that located in Semarang City is the gateway and transit point for the cities around Semarang. These things made number of passengers and goods are increasing in the Ahmad Yani Airport. The existence Obstacle of Limitation Surfaces on Ahmad Yani Airport did not obstruct the city and the building development therefore it can be built around the airport. The passenger and goods growth rate development Ahmad Yani Airport are not matched by the infrastructure and non-flight facilities growth. In the result of it, there are deficiencies of landside facilities and airport support facilities as a central air transportation. OLS existence is still regarded as a obstruct city growth. This study uses quantitative methods by projection analysis of passengers and flight flow data in previous years. The results are used to find the range of the airport number of passengers and airport facilities volume requirements in the future. The results showed that the rush hour number of passengers at Ahmad Yani Airport is 2864 people and the sum total of passengers per year 57,727,482 in 2035. Terminal area needs a minimum of 12,626 m2 and 38,556 m2 of parking area. The Ahmad Yani Airport required the most supporting room facilities, such as; concession airport room, parking area, pedestrian path, airport hotel, and followed by other facilities. Superimpose and normative analysis showed that the potential placement for the new airport facilities is on the north Ahmad Yani Airport runway.

AbstractMost legumes in natural conditions form a symbiosis with arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. AM fungi in saline soils have been reported to improve salinity tolerance and growth in plants. In the present study, interaction between mycorrhizal fungus,Glomus mosseae, and salinity stress in relation to plant growth, nitrogen fixation, and nutrient accumulation was evaluated in alfalfa (Medicago sativa). Two alfalfa cultivars (Bami and Yazdi) were compared under different levels of salinity with and without mycorrhizal inoculations. Salt stress resulted in a noticeable decline in shoot and root dry matter accumulation, resulting in a decline in the shoot to root ratio (SRR) in all plants. However, Bami was found to be more tolerant to salinity than Yazdi. Inoculated plants exhibited better growth and biomass accumulation under stressed as well as unstressed conditions. Mycorrhizal colonization (MC) was reduced with increasing salinity levels, but the mycorrhizal dependency (MD) increased, which was more evident in Yazdi. Nodulation was completely inhibited under salt stress conditions for both non - AM inoculated alfalfa varieties. Nodulation only occurred in inoculated plants. Nitrogenase activity was reduced with increasing salt concentrations. AM inoculated plants had considerably higher nodule numbers, dry weights, and nitrogenase activity under nonsaline environments. Bami had a comparatively lower Na+concentration and higher K+and Ca2+concentrations than Yazdi. Although nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) contents declined with increasing salinity, Bami had higher levels of N and P, as compared with Yazdi. Plants inoculated withGlomus mosseaehad better plant growth and nitrogen fixation under salt stress.

The Yanqi Basin and the Konqi River Basin of the Kaidu-Konqi River Basin were chosen as the study sites in this paper in order to investigate suitable scales of natural and artificial oases with a specified water resource and water quantity planned by the local government. Combined with remote-sensing images from 2013, water resources in 2013, 2025 and 2035, and weather and socioeconomic data, suitable scales of oases were analyzed. The results showed that: (1) The total available water quantities in the Yanqi Basin and the Konqi River Basin without river base flow, and the input of water into Bosten Lake and Tarim River, over high-, normal and low-flow periods, in 2025 and 2035, were 19.04 × 108 m3, 10.52 × 108 m3, 4.95 × 108 m3, 9.95 × 108 m3 and 9.95 × 108 m3, as well as 21.77 × 108 m3, 13.95 × 108 m3, 10.11 × 108 m3, 12.50 × 108 m3, and 9.74 × 108 m3. (2) The water demand of the natural oasis in the Yanqi Basin and the Konqi River Basin was 2.59 × 108 m3, and 4.59 × 108 m3, respectively. (3) The total water consumption of the artificial oasis in 2013, 2025, and 2035 were 10.51 × 108 m3, 10.99 × 108 m3 and 10.74 × 108 m3 in the Yanqi Basin, respectively, and 18.59 × 108 m3, 14.07 × 108 m3 and 13.30 × 108m3 in the Kongqi River Basin, respectively. (4) Under government planning, the optimal area in 2025 and 2035 should be 5,100.06 km2 and 5,096.15 km2 in the Yanqi Basin oases, and 6,008.53 km2 and 4,691.36 km2 in the Konqi River Basin oases, respectively, under the different inflow variations, and 4,972.71 km2 and 4,969.22 km2 in the Yanqi Basin oases, and 5,975.17 km2 and 4,665.67 km2 in the Kongqi River Basin oases, respectively, under the appropriate proportion. Tanpa adanya pembaca dan penafsir dari Al-Qur’an itu sendiri teks tidak akan mampu berbicara mengenai dirinya sendiri. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan guna menjelaskan bagaimana proses interaksi antara Sakban Yadi dengan Al-Qur’an itu sendiri di dalam membangun makna dan kemudian memvisualisasikan kedalam bentuk karya seni lukis kaligrafi. Peneliti berasumsi bahwa karya kaligrafi Sakban Yadi memiliki relevansi antara prespektif Sakban Yadi sebagai seorang muslim yang sekaligus sebagai seorang seniman yang melibatkan pada proses pemahamannya terhadap isi kandungan Al-Qur’an. Abstract:

The use of land as a trade and service area contributes greatly to the development of urban economic structures, including in the District of Kartasura. Especially Kartasura's market activity which is always developing because it is a place to fulfill primary needs. However, the existence of this market and also the trade and service activities around it are increasingly troubling due to irregularities and disrupting transportation activities around the market. Geographically, Kartasura Subdistrict is quite close to the Surakarta City area (around 10 Km), and Surakarta City has a very rapid and dense development intensity and has a limited development area, so the development of socio-economic activities tends to move towards the Kartasura Sub-District area.Close socio-economic relations with Surakarta City made Kartasura experience rapid development in the growth of new activities along the A. Yani road. Such as education, health, trade and services, industry and office activities. With the growth of new activities along the A Yani road, traffic jams often occur at peak hours. The congestion is due to the mixture between modes of transportation, trade, industry and offices.The purpose of this study is to identify the performance of the A Yani road, to determine the effect of land use on congestion that occurs. To achieve these objectives, the analysis used is quantitative calculations. By comparing the road conditions at peak and non peak hours on the A Yani road. The method used in this study is analyzing the volume of the road (V) A Yani experiencing congestion, analyzing side barriers, speed, road capacity (C) A Yani, and the level of road service (V / C) A Yani. In addition to the quantitative analysis also conduct qualitative analysis to clarify the quantitative analysis that has been done. So that what is a problem on Jalan A Yani can also be analyzed, what are the factors that cause congestion and finally show conclusions and recommendations of problems.Keywords: Land use, Traffic Congestion

Abstract:

A weak concentration of landowner system is among the main properties of African people specially those in the South of Sahara. To have acces to land is a question which concerns above all the level of rationalisation than that of true distribution. This paper deals with the strategies of both landowner system and marriage settlement in the Yansi society. The Yansi people are living in the Kinzwene area specially in the constituency of Bagata in the province of Bandundu of Zaïre country. These people have opted for a marriage settlement based on matriarchy. With reference to Bohanman’s methodes of conception to write down this paper, we have proceeded by confrontation of these methods to the Yansi social reality. From this we can say: the land appropriation and the one of a woman (as spouse) are from a system of affectation to using things but not from the right to have it used according to the european comman law which is based on the former roman law. Only one adage rules the both landowner and marriage settlement strategies: “NSO MPE NGUL M’WAG” (if a cassava field is left, it is given to wild boars). This maxim brings a reply to the women moving, the fields and the properties regime inside the same linear system or in the archilinear one. According to Yansi people, landowner system is a question which concerns at the same time the economic, the social and cultural aspects. What is called “formal marriage” (Ukwel Kituül) is a kind of marriage settlement strategy both social and temporal. The Yansi landowner system and marriage settlement are to be seen as a way tot remain interdependent from generations to others.

Penelitian ini bermaksud mengungkap praktik atau model pelaksanaan wakaf produktif yang dilakukan oleh Bank Wakaf Mikro Syariah di Jombang, Jawa Timur. Model pelaksaan wakaf produktif sangat jarang ditemukan di lembaga lain, dan bahkan nyaris tidak ada. Selain itu, model tersebut dapat menjawab kegelisahan para pelaksana di lembaga perkawakafan terkait dengan strategi yang tak kunjung menemukan formasi tepat. Signifikansi penelitian ini terletak pada model pemberdayaan dan pemberian modal usaha sebagai pentuk wakaf produktif kepada beberapa UMKM potensial. Model ini menjadi pembeda dengan beberapa lembaga wakaf. Metodei yangi digunakani adalahi metodei kualitatifi deskriptif,i darii hasili wawancarai datai diperolehi darii pimpinani ataui staffi yangi terkait,i sertai didukungi dengani studii dokumentasii yangi dapati membantui keakuratani informasii yangi dibutuhkani olehi peneliti, diantaranya struktur organisasi dan standart oprasional. Sehingga menghasilkan beberapa temuan, yaitu dalam program tahap awal dalam Bank Wakaf Mikro adalah â€œPemberdayaan Masyarakat melalu Pendirian LKM Syariah sekitar Pesantrenâ€ yang diprakarsai oleh Lembaga Amil Zakat Nasional Bank Wakaf Mandiri (LAZNAS BSM) yang mana pendiriannya difasilitasi oleh Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) dan Pusat Inkubasi Bisnis Usaha Kecil (Pinbuk). Proses pelaksanaan wakaf produktif di Bank Wakaf Mikro Denanyar, menggunakan sistem penyalurannya dengan produktif, disalurkannya kepada nasabah yang punya usaha untuk mengembangkan usaha nashabah yang mana cara penyalurannya itu dengan sysitem Kelompok Usaha Masyarakat Sekitar Pesantren Indonesia (KUMPI).

Abstract:

Problems related to pedestrian pathways are often found in trades area of a city including the city of Payakumbuh, espceially in the area by the Ahmad Yani Street where as this street connect 2 main markets namely the Central Market of Payakumbuh city and the Ibuh market. Which is why this research need to be conducted, so that people can evaluate the level of Ahmad Yani street’s sidewalk service based on the level of service (LOS) value using the HCM 2000 method, the service standards are based on the Minister of Public Works Regulation Number : 03/PRT/M/2014. In addition, a pedestrian perception survey was carried out by the use of a questioner survey using the percentage interval analysis and regression analysis. Based on the analysis, the level of service from the west side of Ahmad Yani street’s sidewalk is categorized as “A” and as for the east side is categorized as “B”. The percentage of comfort level from Ahmad Yani Street’s sidewalk of Payakumbuh city is 41,85%, which is categorized as inconvenience. The result of regression analysis indicate that the variable that affect the level of comfort from Ahmad Yani street’s sidewalk are accessibility variables with a regression coefficient of 0.644; surface conditions variable with a regression coefficient of 0.384; sanitation variable with a regression coefficient of 0.672; aesthetics variable with regression coefficient of 0.743; and sidewalk obstacle/hindrance variables with regression coefficient of -0.240. The five variables are proved to significantly affect the level of comfort from Ahmad Yani street’s sidewalk. The variation of the level of comfort from Ahmad Yani street’s sidewalk of Payakumbuh city is 47,06% influenced by those five factors as shown by the R-Squre value of 0,4706 where as the rest 52.94% are affected by factors outside of this research model.

AbstractThe consumption of dog “meat” is dividing the Chinese society into two camps. Is dog eating part of the mainstream food culture or is it a declining practice? With the help of a survey of 1,265 respondents in Yanji and Dalian, the study confirms different rates of acceptance regarding dog eating among the respondents by age, ethnicity, education, rural-urban residence status, and profession. Contrary to the belief that urbanization weakens traditional behaviors, our study found that Yanji, with its high urbanization rate, considers dog “meat” consumption to be acceptable. The local subculture appeared to be a strong intervening factor. Unlike Korean vegetable side dishes, dog “meat” is not a mainstream food choice in Yanji. The eating habit may continue for a long time if it is not banned. However, the decline of the eating habit seems irreversible.
