Ciyun Zunshi (964 ~ 1032) lived in Tiantai Sect in Song Dynasty, during which Pure-land Sect was very popular with many sects of Buddhism seeking their destiny of returning to the pure land. In Song Dynasty, Tiantai Sect advocated and practiced the doctrines of Buddha. Zunshi was determined to preach the way of Tiantai by practicing the way of Buddha. In his entire life, he had always been preaching, repenting in system and ritual and reciting Buddhism sutras, especially for the importance of the methods of redemption. The book “Wang Sheng Jing Tu Chan Yuan Yi” written by him was a convergence of ideas of Pure-land and Tiantai which intelligently combined and applied the doctrines of two sects, presenting the practice of religious life. “Wang Sheng Jing Tu Chan Yuan Yi” was a collection of redemption methods compiled by Zunshi from Amitayus Sutra and other Mahayana Sutras that honor the Pure-land. The first chapter is introduction which mainly elaborates the motive and purpose of this thesis and the comments over the present studies and theses related to Ciyun Zunshi’s life, ideas and methods of redemption, and discusses the research scope and thesis structure. The second chapter mainly introduces Ciyun Zunshi’s era background and life, his works and his practices of Buddhism ideas. The third chapter is about the causes of redemption rites in “Wang Sheng Jing Tu Chan Yuan Yi”, and the formation background and era of the book as well as the structure of ritual redemption. The fourth chapter analyzes the content and religious features of “Wang Sheng Jing Tu Chan Yuan Yi” to probe into the characteristics of the Redemption of Pure-land, such as Sin Purgatory through redemption, causes of Samadhi achievements and pure-land of afterlife and the Convergence of the ideas of Tiantai Sect and Pure-land as well as other religious features. Summary The dissertation focused on the analysis on, with semiotic methods, how Yao Yi-wei employed the transformability of ideographic system to materialize his inner impetus for creation in a polysemous way, how he viewed his creation as “an artistic presentation of personal ideals of life”, and how his imagination towards Sublimity could be effectively expressed through the dramatic structure of “Antithesis of Human/Situation”. Furthermore, his creation practice also made reference to, from within, the impacts of the context of “contextual structure” and “social consciousness” that constructed his inner impetus and ideas for creation, from which the image of intelligentsia and artistic attitudes of his “self-definition” were analyzed. With such a method, the dissertation excavated the interrelationship among Yao’s structure of dramatic aesthetics, his practice of creation, and the mode of proliferation of the dramatist’s signs in different contexts, and it described the intertextuality of his approach to the values of life/aesthetics, contents of consciousness/society, and personal/historical interpretive system. The discourses were made from the following four levels: it started from the construction of ideographic system of dramatic texts (“Sun Fei Hu, the Snatcher of Wedding”, “Shen-Sheng”, and “Fu Ching-Chu”), to find out, layer by layer, the visages and thoughts, and employments of symbols and presentation of intentions. Then it further found out, through the intertexuality of his contextual structures, the experiential world and the attitudes and self-definitions he held. These four levels are listed as follows: 1. The possibility of signifying the dramatist’s inner ideals. 2. The logic for deciphering the dramatic actions and symbols. 3. The combination of power structures in the conflicts of wills. 4. The diverse discourses presented in contextual structures of dramatic forms. It is namely a multi-level deciphering of his dramatic texts, and with which, found out the self-consciousness projected in them by the dramatist and the diverse presentations in aesthetics, thinking, and contextual structures, etc. Furthermore, it found out how the dramatist, under the “political/aesthetic ideology” that he dwelt, defined and fought for the right for interpretation of his subjectivity through thinking and self-awareness, and proposed his imagination towards Sublimity in his artistic ideals. Key words: Yao Yi-wei; transformability of signs; imagination towards sublimity; power structure; national allegory.

Of all the 17 Chapters in YiLi, 12 of them have the Note after the Scripture. Zhu Xi changed the content in the book Yi-li-Jing-Zhuan-Tong-Jie, and Shi-Zuo Sheng did the similar thing in the book Yi-Li-Ji-Bian. So here comes the question: why they did this? How? Is it reasonable? Did they have any difference? What’s the influence? To solve the problem, I will compare the contents done by these two. YiLi is a very complicated book and related to many aspects in ancient society, in the meantime, my writing skills are still shallow, so I am not being capable to analyze all the contents in the book. As a result, I choose the ShiGuanLi / ShiHunLi/ ShiXiangJianLi to be analyzed.

In this thesis, I take the discourse of new Taiwan documentary as the subject of discussion, and review the Green Group’s Anti-DuPont Movement in Lukang, Wu Yi-Feng’s Moon Children, and Shen Ko-Shang’s Silent Delta and A Rolling Stone. By reviewing these crucial events of contemporary Taiwan documentary studies, I try to figure out how the discourse constructed, functioned and its blind-spot, and thus propose a new perspective. Chapter Two uses the Green Group’s Anti-DuPont Movement in Lukang as the main subject of discussion, and explores the logic of representation of Diceng (subaltern) on visual medium. By comparing the different version of Anti-DuPont Movement in Lukang, I want to indicate how the Green Group shaped subaltern. First, by editing the image of street demonstrations and protestors in, the abstract concept Diceng can incarnate itself in those image. Additionally, by replacing locality and local knowledge with universal discourse like science and human right, thus this film constructed Taiwaneseness. And I call this process “the discovery of subaltern”. Chapter Three uses Wu Yi-Feng’s Moon Children as the main subject of discussion, and focuses on ethical and aesthetic issue of new Taiwan documentary. By comparing two different attitude toward this work—taking realism as real, or taking realism as particular way of expression, I want to bring up problematics that had been ignored in previous discussion. First, how the normalization narrative suppresses the alterity of others. Additionally, when realism became the only means of re/presenting real, facing and shooting the pain of others is an inevitable consequence. Thus, I suggest that we should seek the aesthetics besides realism as a methodology, to reconcile enlightenment role with ethical issue of new Taiwan documentary. Chapter Four uses Shen Ko-Shang’s Silent Delta and A Rolling Stone as subjects of discussion, and argue that visuality is radical and necessary in contemporary Taiwan documentary. In Silent Delta, by suspending the definite meaning, Shen forces audience to interpret this work without clear information. Therefore, when audience try to interpret it, they have to take reality as external reference, thus recognize the alterity of these isles reflexively. Then in A Rolling Stone, by separating audio and visual, Shen tries to reconcile the conflict between documentary’s enlightenment role with ethical issue. Through aesthetics, these two works are both overcoming and dealing with problematics and ethical issue that the previous documentaries can’t do. In short, by reviewing these crucial events of new Taiwan documentary studies, this thesis points out the particularity of this discourse, and how it was constructed. Thus, the universality and superiority of this discourse can be deconstructed. Furthermore, by proposing a new perspective and framework, this thesis attempt to reboot and renew Taiwan documentary studies.

This thesis is based on the study of Shang Binghe Yi-ology and the divination research of the hexagrams of the Yi. It aims to explore the Shang Binghe Yi-ology and to understand the situation of the actual divination, especially the application of Shangs Yi-ology’s imaging rules of the hexagrams. To understand the applicability of Shangs Yi-ology, and to show that Shangs Yi-ology has its practical side in addition to its theory. The combination of both theory and practice is the biggest feature of Shangs Yi-ology. This feature is also the biggest division and difference comparing to other purely theoretical Yi-ology factions. This thesis is divided into nine chapters. Chapter one is "Introduction", which discusses research motives and purposes, the discussion of related literatures, and the scope and methods of research. Chapter two is "Shangs Yi-ology’s Image-Numerology", which discusses the mystery of the trigram- image, as well as principles, materials, and methods of Shangs Yi-ology’s trigram-image- taking. Chapter three is "The Characteristics of Yi-principles of Shangs Yi-ology", which discusses some characteristics of Shangs Yi-ology. For example, the Yi ‘s principles have trigram-line with corresponding trigrams, trigram-line within trigrams , trigram-line within the opposite symbol of trigrams, the relativity between youth and elder ,etc. The part of Yi-principles about Shangs Yi-ology’s which have not been summarized in the previous researches will be clarified and explored. Chapter four is "The Method of Using Shangs Yi-ology’s Hexagram-image", which discusses Shangs Yi-ology’s using rules of the hexagrams, especially those have not been summarized will be explored. For example, the trigram-line image rules, the folded trigram-image rules, etc. Chapter five is “The Analysis of the Hexagram Names of ‘Jie’, ‘TongRen and ‘DaYou’,’JiaRen’,’Feng‘ from Shangs Yi-ology”, which discusses the unclear Shangs‘s explanations. The research of creation starts from myself, coming from my own life experiences, including sketching on the street, gazing at the people, receiving external information as well as hearing the intrinsic sound. The oppressed the time of growth, the frustration of feelings and the trouble of the relationships make me restless in the deep mind. The escape and self-block cause me to be lonely. The anger and depression deepen the gulf of the bitter. The experiences, combining the memories and feelings and forcing me to face my own intrinsic situation, always merge in my mind unintentionally. The creation becomes the only exit of my extremely restless condition. Through the way, I can dig out my heart which is closed in the dark black hole, reflecting my internal. The topic of this research is “me”. My works are taken as the objects of observation through the literature methodology. The academic theories are the foundation of my creation, according to the aspects of the “existence”, “symbol”, “subconscious” and “performance”. The process of the thinking of creation is that analysis description, works research, experiences reading, experiences narration, the connotation clarification. Through analyzing the works, the intrinsic mind can be understood precisely. My creations are divided into three series: “Gazing myself”, “Gazing the feelings of the family” and “Gazing the affections of lover”, attempting to shape my own image and to reflect my reality via my body, status and stories; meanwhile, presenting my desires without veiling and common viewpoints and weakening the characteristics of the feminine by the technique of shaping in order to free myself from the myth of the genders. Moreover, my own image and style can be constructed by discovering and communicating with myself continuously. The creations reveal the self-intrinsic reflection, the restless condition and the sense of the loneliness and sadness which are the fundamental keys of my creations. The development of life experiences changes my mind; furthermore, the contradiction and the diversity fill the process of the creations. Although the repression and the restless condition have not vanished during the period of the creations, gazing myself clarified the sorrowful and vague inside condition; finally the self-existence would be realized after all.
