Abstract:
ObjectivesFoster care history is associated with many health and social problems, including sexual risk behaviours, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This cross-sectional study compares sexual risk behaviours among a sample of young adult substance users in Miami (N=602) with and without foster care histories.MethodsParticipants completed a comprehensive assessment which included sections on foster care, sexual risk behaviours and related health and social problems. Logistic regression was used to examine the relationship between foster care history, associated syndemic vulnerabilities and increased likelihood of having a prior HIV/STI diagnosis.ResultsBivariate analyses indicated that foster care alumni were more likely to report a prior HIV/STI diagnosis, higher condomless sex frequencies, being high on alcohol or drugs during sex, sexual victimisation and a history of homelessness compared with other participants in the sample (p<0.05). Multivariate analyses revealed that foster care history, sexual victimisation and group sex participation are associated with a prior HIV/STI diagnosis (p<0.05). Group sex participation doubled the odds of a prior HIV/STI diagnosis for foster care alumni, compared with other participants (p<0.5).ConclusionsThis exploratory study identifies characteristics that distinguish foster care alumni from non-alumni and signals the need to better serve the sexual and related health needs of individuals with foster care histories. Clinicians and healthcare providers should provide foster care alumni with detailed HIV/STI risk reduction information and resources and services to address related syndemic vulnerabilities (eg, victimisation and homelessness).

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo evaluate quality of paediatric endoscopy training of Young members of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN).MethodsAn online questionnaire designed by the Young ESPGHAN Committee was sent to 125 Young ESPGHAN members between February 2014 and September 2015. The questionnaire comprised 32 questions addressing some general information of the participants and the structure of their paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition programmes; procedural volume and terminal ileal intubation (TII) rate; supervision, assessments, participation in endoscopy courses and simulator training; and satisfaction with endoscopy training and self-perceived competency.ResultsOf 68 participants, 48 (71%) were enrolled in an official training programme. All alumni (n=31) were trained in endoscopy. They completed a median of 200 oesophagogastroduodenoscopies (OGDs) and 75 ileocolonoscopies (ICs) with a TII rate of >90% in 43%. There is a significant difference in numbers of ICs between the TII rate groups >90%, 50%–90% and <50% (median 150 vs 38 vs 55) (p<0.001). 11 alumni (35%) followed the ESPGHAN Syllabus during training. 25 alumni (81%) attended basic skills endoscopy courses and 19 (61%) experienced simulator training. 71% of the alumni were ‘(very) satisfied’ with their diagnostic OGD, while 52% were ‘(very) satisfied’ with their IC training. The alumni felt safe to independently perform OGDs in 84% and ICs in 71% after their training.ConclusionsDespite reaching the suggested procedural endoscopy volumes, a rather low TII rate of >90% calls for end-of-training certifications based on the achievement of milestones of competency.

Abstract:
Farmer institutions are places where people gather to channel their aspirations, opinions, and tools to fulfill their basic needs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics and the participation of members of the Japanese internship alumni association to the farmer institution. This research was conducted from September 2020 to March 2021. The respondents were determined as many as 50 alumni by purposive sampling ranging fromWest Java, Central Java to East Java Provinces. The data analysis used was descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that the characteristics of the members of the Japanese internship alumni association in general were relatively young, had relatively high formal and informal education, and most of their businesses had well developed. The participation of members of the Japanese internship alumni association to participate in the farmer institution was 94%. In addition, most of the Japanese alumni had a role as committee members in the farmers institution, 68%, and had been involved for a relatively long time in the farmer institution. The involvement of alumni in agricultural institutions for more than 10 years. One of the reasons for Japanese internship alumni to join the institution was to help gain access to knowledge and technology. This indicates that alumni had a high level of awareness of the strategic role of farmer institutions in advancing their business.

Abstract:
The objectives of the community service are: maintaining the alumni commitment as agricultural young entrepreneurs; increase the capacity and ability of alumni in the management of business in agriculture; increasing the business scale by adding the ability to finance agribusiness businesses; and developing business networks (net-working) and financing and marketing cooperation. The output expected as an output of this service activity is an article published in national or international journals. To achieve the purpose of this service, it is carried out with a coaching and mentoring approach. Coaching is done by the focus group discussion (FGD) method, training with the agribusiness field school method, and mentoring in the problem solving method. From a series of implementation activities can be summarized as follows: the commitment of alumni as young agricultural entrepreneurs is still able to be held which is shown by the still strong spirit and entrepreneurial spirit; (the alumni who are members of the PWMP Group have the ability to increase the capacity of business management in agriculture, including 3 (three) of the 7 (seven) PWMP groups that have opened business branches and appointed employees to assist production activities and services to customers; in general there has been an increase in the ability of financing sourced from an average allowance for operating results of 18.3% from November 2017 to July 2018 or 2.29% / month; and the development of business networks and marketing is still an obstacle for most young agricultural entrepreneurs, except the PWMP Bintang Tani Group which has a business network and regular customers in the marketing aspect.

Abstract:
This article describes the perspectives of alumni of National Civic Service (NCS) in Israel on its impact at the individual level. We compared 250 young women who were identified as youth at risk with 295 mainstream volunteers. Overall, the two groups show similar outcomes that are typical to this developmental stage of life. Yet youth at risk experience more difficulties. While NCS aims at increasing equality between groups, it seems that it is not enough to bridge the gaps between the groups. The findings imply a need for a continued intervention to accompany the at-risk alumni that would leverage the progress made during the NCS period.

Abstract:
This paper analyses the main perceived barriers to starting a company on the example of university students and alumni in Uzbekistan. On the basis of previous studies by foreign authors the main barriers faced by entrepreneurs including young entrepreneurs were identified. Based on the studied literature and the methodology used in prior researches the author created an online questionnaire using multi-choice questions divided into several sectors. As a possible solution to minimize the consequences of the perceived barriers the respondents were asked to consider their willingness to use crowdfunding platforms to raise funds for their own projects, as well as to finance projects of other young entrepreneurs. The results of the regression model and statistical data made it possible to draw conclusions that legislators can take into account in the framework of the ongoing policy of supporting young entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.

Abstract:
The authors were interested in identifying the influence of gender on smartphone adoption of Hungarian young adults. The theoretical framework of the study is based on the UTAUT2 and widened by the inclusion of a new variable: brand awareness. A survey was conducted among smartphone owners (students and alumni of Szent István University) aged between 16 and 35 using a nonprobability sampling technique. The results illustrate that from the UTAUT2 variables, only hedonic motivation and habit influenced behavioural intention, while at the same time brand awareness had direct influence only on actual smartphone use of Hungarian males. Apart from social influence, the relationships between indicators were significant in the case of females. The study increases the board of knowledge related to the formulation of behavioural intention, and it might be interesting for global smartphone manufacturers to understand factors influencing the actual smartphone usage in Hungary.

Abstract:
The achievement of legal permanence is not only a primary goal of U.S. child welfare policy but is also presumed to translate into relational permanence. This study examines whether state-sanctioned permanence translates into relational permanence among foster care alumni. In-depth interviews were conducted with a sample of 31 young adults who exited care as adolescents through adoption, guardianship, or relative placement to gain insights into how they make meaning of their relationships with caretakers over time. Constructivist grounded theory was used to develop a conceptual classification scheme of relational permanence that resulted in four types of young adult–caretaker relationships: enduring, ambivalent, spurned, and severed. Findings underscore the unintended consequences of solely focusing on legal permanence as an outcome, and implications for promoting relational permanence before and after foster care are discussed.

Abstract:
In this study, which is part of my PhD thesis project, I used the documentary method of interpretation to analyze a discourse on the prospect of leaving care and living autonomously that emerged from group discussions among youth living in a residential setting in <em>Alto Adige</em> [South Tyrol], Italy. The documentary method of interpretation not only examines the explicitly expressed contents of the discourse, but also reconstructs the young person’s implicit, or atheoretical, knowledge underlying and orienting habitualized social action. The method focuses on group-based social patterns that, when applied in care-leaver research, give valuable insights into structurally identical experiences young people in institutions of residential care share that concern the normative educational goal and expected learning outcome of autonomy. The analysis of the group discussions suggests that becoming autonomous in a residential institution is, from the perspective of the young people, a paradoxical arrangement with compulsory character, and that they have developed group-specific patterns and strategies to manage it. This article will present those social patterns and strategies. An understanding of the influence of the paradox is necessary if we are to improve outcomes of the social pedagogical treatment model in residential care settings and thus improve the life chances of residential care alumni and the experience of leaving care for young adults.

Abstract:
In the article, there have been portrayed silhouettes of the two Main School of Warsaw alumni, who were the last to debut as the men of letters – Gustaw “Gamaston” Kamieński and Stanisław Graybner. The author pictures life choices as well as writing selections of the writers who had studied amongst the positivistic exemplars, however, their first literary work was published on the eve of the Young Poland period, thus their careers represent this exact literary period. The novelty of the article is that so far in the literary researches their names have been completely left out. According to press criticism dated on the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the author proves that the late debuts did not help the aforementioned writers – even though they specialized in different literary genres (Kamieński in prose, Graybner in drama) they both created their work as if on the literary margins of the Young Poland period. Although their first work raised attention and the favor of receivers, the next ones brought only failures most of the time.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the analysis of university and labour market relationship. In addition to economic analysis, studying the involvement process of young people in the labour market is essential to identifying the link between higher education institutions (HEIs) and the labour market in order to assess and implement appropriate policies. This case study was conducted to discover the integration process of the classes of 2014, from three faculties of Armenian State Pedagogical University, in Armenia’s labour market. The research reveals the demand for these professions in the labour market and the pace of finding jobs. The article discusses the factors that hinder or contribute to the process of integration of young specialists in the labour market, as well as, the advantages and disadvantages of HEIs from young professionals’ perspective. Methodological recommendations and guidelines on the organisation of higher education following the labour market requirements are offered in the discussion section. It is significant to develop mechanisms for promoting employers' involvement in management offices and faculties of HEIs, to develop and fix legal norms, to improve the methodological principles and plans regarding the organisation of the practicum practices. It is proposed to expand the functions and role of career centres created in HEIs in order to establish the university's activity by the labour market requirements and to assist graduates in the labour market as well as provide continuous professional development programs and training for the teaching staff.

Abstract:
Due to their high rates of parental maltreatment and violence exposure, youth in the foster care system are considered particularly vulnerable to experiencing intimate partner violence (IPV) in adolescence and young adulthood. Those who have emancipated from foster care may be at a heightened risk, as they are significantly more likely to struggle in a variety of critical domains (i.e., mental health, substance use, and delinquency). This longitudinal study is the first to explore the impact of demographic, individual, family, and foster care system factors on IPV involvement for foster care alumni at age 23/24. Analyses were conducted on three waves of quantitative data from the Midwest Evaluation of the Adult Functioning of Former Foster Youth (the Midwest Study). We find that approximately 21% of the young adults in our sample were involved in some type of IPV at age 23/24, with bidirectional violence the most commonly reported form. Males were more likely than females to report IPV victimization, whereas females were more likely than males to report IPV perpetration and bidirectional violence. Young adults who reported parental IPV prior to foster care entry were more likely to be involved in bidirectionally violent partnerships than nonviolent partnerships in young adulthood, as were young adults who reported neglect by a foster caregiver and those who reported greater placement instability while in the foster care system. Anxiety at baseline increased the odds of IPV perpetration at age 23/24, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at baseline decreased the odds of IPV perpetration at age 23/24. Understanding the characteristics and experiences that place these young adults at risk for IPV will allow for more effective and targeted prevention efforts.

Abstract:
As strengths and weaknesses are regarded as internal features of an organization, the present study focused on strengths and weaknesses of Turkish public universities by analyzing the SWOTs (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) of twenty higher education institutions. By applying qualitative content analytical tools, we tried to make some comparisons, twenty universities, ten ranked at the top and ten at the bottom of the URAP list, were chosen to analyze the strengths and weaknesses. Findings show that all universities top or bottom ones have internal strengths and weaknesses on their own. The strengths of universities differ according to their size, field of service, structure, history and geographical locations. Top universities which are in big size, have a deeply rooted history and situated in a better geographical location can enjoy the strengths as qualified faculty members, organizational culture, internationalization process, infrastructure and good alumni relations. On the other hand, bottom universities which have not got those advantages deal with other strengths such as young faculty members, organizational support and internal communication. As for the weaknesses, top universities need more budget and acceptable rate of faculty member and student. Bottom ones need more qualified faculty members, students and staff. As they are located in disadvantageous regions, they are in need of some promotions to attract faculties, staff, national and international students. In addition, they also should be aware of the contributions of good alumni relations.

Abstract:
International talent’s mobility has increased over the last decade, especially in the wake of globalization and knowledge economy. China no longer exclusively shows an asymmetrical flow to developed countries, but it often turns out to be the most desirable destination of brain circulation for some overseas high-level young returned talents. In this context, based on the data obtained from the “Thousand Youth Talents Plan” (2011–2016) publicized by the Central Millennium Plan Office, the methods of the Moran’s I index, the Getis-Ord Gi* index, and the Poisson regression model are adopted in this study to analyze the location choice of overseas high-level young returned talents in China and its driving factors. The spatial configuration shows up that the United States is the most important origin overseas and China’s municipalities or provincial capitals are the most remarkable destinations. Moreover, the analysis reveals the distribution by academic majors is uneven, which may be caused by knowledge priority and legacies of China’s Soviet-style innovation system. The main analysis is extended with the Poisson regression model to estimate the significance of the influence factors. The empirical results show that the factors in order of importance are academic opportunity, urban amenity, and place attachment. Concretely, the most important factors for location choice of overseas high-level young returned talents, namely research and development (R&D) investment, internal convenience and hierarchy level in science and technology (S&T) system, external accessibility, transportation accessibility, university endowment, and health care are the substantial secondary factors, while place-oriented talent agglomeration and prior alumni connection play a minor role.

Abstract:
Introduction. Over the last 30 years, the educational model based on liberal arts and sciences has spread beyond its traditional United States to other parts of the world. However, recently, many liberal arts and science universities face a challenge: due to the pressures of the fast developing world, young people prefer more STEMs (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) oriented universities. The paper addresses the following question: How have private liberal arts universities adjusted to the global challenges of the 21st century? Methods and Materials. This paper conducts a case study of one of American leading private small universities – Reed College (Portland, Oregon, USA) by using reports on and studies of liberal arts universities and its graduates; interviews with students, faculty and administration of Reed College as well as academic writings on the subject. Paper examines the Reed College curriculum, faculty and student body, examines evidence from the current Reed faculty, student body and alumni, as well as the information about jobs that Reed alums land. Analysis. In the process of analysis, the paper discusses as to whether this adaptation has led to giving up on some of Reed College traditional principles. The role of international partnerships / programs in this process is analyzed. Results. The paper demonstrates that Reed College has been adapting to the global challenges of the 21st century by keeping its main focus on individual learning, research collaboration between faculty and students as well as expanding its majors to reflect the demands of the time, staying financially sound by incorporating alumni donations, and engaging internationally.

The modern model of state education in Russia promotes patriotism and devotion to the authorities. Young people must be proud of their origin and, in spite of deteriorating material conditions, should stay in the country contributing to its development. Cadet Corps Alumni are an example of a patriotic education model. Several years of learning in the military school shapes their beliefs and teaches them complete surrender to authority. Patriotism, combined with the sense of external threat, has become the driving force behind the reconstruction of the Russian superpower. One of the cornerstones of the school is the acceptance of Putin’s Russia by spreading the vision of becoming an international representative of the country. The increase in military spending and functioning of military schools such as the Corps of Cadets give rise to fears that in the future Russia the army will become one of the tools of the superpower on the arena of foreign policy.

Abstract:
The article analyses the organisation of higher education by the Calvinist Church of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (Unitas Lituaniae) in the 17th century, in the period of the weakening of the Reformation, covering the first half of the 17th century, and the second half of the century, when Evangelicals became a religious minority. Research reveals that the education of young people at foreign universities was funded by private means, collected in the districts and accumulated by the Synod. This article also investigates the formation of the institution of international alumni at the Synod of the Calvinist Church, which became part of the system of education of that Church. The stipendiaries had to make up for the financial aid by working at locations assigned by the Synod. The continuous operation of the institute of international alumni at the Synod for more than a century permitted cultural contacts and simultaneously promoted the infusion of new ideas into the evolution of Lithuanian culture. The most important of the latter included the formation of groups of clergymen and school teachers with a university education; the nurturing of Adomas Rasijus’ (ca 1575–1627/8) projects for the adjustment of the social structure and the refinement of the education system in Lithuania by the establishment of academic grammar schools for the nobility and merchants from Lithuania with special syllabi; the encouragement of S.B. Chylinski to translate the Bible into Lithuanian in the middle of the 17th century in Franeker and London; understanding the importance of the Lithuanian language as a written language and the language of the Holy Scripture; the possibility to get acquainted with the translation, text and commentaries of the Dutch Statenbijbel; the encouragement to complete the translation of the New Testament into the Lithuanian language and publish it in 1701; planning the translation of a commentary to the Dutch Statenbijbel into Polish.

Abstract:
The aim of this commentary is to present the position that a pattern language approach facilitates, even catalyzes (comparative) learning in planning for young professionals. This position builds on literature and is supported by the research work of six MSc Urbanism graduation projects, in which the students adopted a pattern language approach. Additionally, these alumni have been asked in retrospect to evaluate their pattern language experiences for their learning. The students say their pattern languages give focus, enrich the knowledge field, are flexible, and they do not prescribe what to do, or how to make a plan. Students see and appreciate the value of the simple, yet thoughtful structure of a pattern with both visual and verbal information. Additionally, they observe that this method enables the connection between disciplines, between theory and practice, and between stakeholders, and that, potentially, it is a helpful tool for all kinds of stakeholders. They refer to the method as a tool for communication, a tool for design and analysis, and a tool for learning.

Abstract:
During the Second World War Nazi occupying forces closed down the University of Warsaw and other Polish academies. Secondary and higher level education was forbidden. In spite of interdictions and death penalty threat many professors were teaching in private apartments. That activity created a structure of secret studies, which became part of the Polish resistance. The Medical Faculty was the most active department of the University of Warsaw. Many young people wanted to start or continue medical studies, therefore the Medical Faculty Council decided to establish a secret two-year Medical College, (which later evolved into full Medical Faculty) and legal private vocational school known as Professor Zaorski’s School. Officially the school was educating medical help staff (nurses, paramedics) but unofficially they were future medical doctors, because the institution secretly carried out the program of the first two years of regular medical studies. Alumni of Prof. Zaorski’s School could continue their studies at the secret Medical Faculty during hospital practices. The secret Medical Faculty of the University of Warsaw completed its activity along with the beginning of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944.

Abstract:
Nowadays the problems of medical ethics are gaining the special significance as a result of changes in social and economic relations, healthcare modernization due to appearance of new effective methods for instrumental and laboratory examinations, treatment approaches, development of market relations in medicine. The aim of the presented paper is to cover the actual aspects of medical ethics in pediatrics. The paper reviews the ethical aspects of the work of a in detail. Differentiated approach in choosing pediatrician interns, which is based not only on academic progress, but also on professional and moral qualities of the medical university alumni and continuity in their upbringing starting form the first years of the medical school until the end of post-graduate education, seems rationale. It is during the student years when the cognitive and moral values of a forthcoming specialist are formed, which may be a criterion of a suitability of working with children. The roles of the competition, including the modular approach to knowledge evaluation, professional competencies and rating system are stressed. Considering the modern requirements to a young professional, the accent is made on the role of the leading tutor in a forthcoming specialist formation. The requirements to a higher education teacher and the importance of the moral atmosphere in hospitals and faculties for forming the ethical features of a forthcoming pediatrician and improving his/her professional level according to the medical progress are outlined. Thus, teaching pediatrics has a lot of particularities, including teaching the basics of medical ethics, having an extremely important role in professional education of pediatricians for proper forming of the young professional according to contemporary life requirements.

Abstract Grassroots (GR) organizations that develop pipelines of pivotal leadership are better able to respond to the multiple challenges of the day. As public organizations, social media and biased-literature intensify advocacy for the reduction and constraint of animal agriculture (AA), it is clear AA is under concerted attack. Producers must not only learn to cope with changes in weather pattern intensification and droughts, depletion of resources, dramatic policy shifts and more, they must defend the activist narratives. The need for well-informed, competent GR leader communicators to advocate for the beef community has never been more urgent to the future of the beef industry. The Young Cattlemen Leadership Program (YCLP), a partnership between AU Animal Sciences and the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, is an outreach effort focused on the delivery of an integrated, customized blueprint of content workshops, legislative sessions, industry tours, conferences and mentoring for catalyzed leadership development to meet the current and future needs of a highly diverse state constituency. Based on survey feedback and case analysis, YCLP, now in its seventh cohort, is proving the effectiveness of the collaborative learning design model contextualized around issue topics surrounding AA as alumni have assumed multiple roles of leadership in the organization.

Abstract:
PurposeAs young people are seeking degrees that will help them with employment and as universities seek ways to increase enrollment and retention, the emphasis of the value of higher education has emerged as an important aspect in achieving these goals. The focus of this particular study, where a paucity currently exists, was to examine the concepts of value in relation to undergraduate business education. A main aim of this study was to identify values (beyond economic), based on time since graduation, and the motivating factors that help to define those values. One of the key trends this study revealed was a cross-generational assessment of value.Design/methodology/approachThe driving research question was regarding business undergraduate alumni's perceptions of value: Is there a relationship (based on time since graduation) in the value of an undergraduate degree? The Final Revised Survey was sent to 945 business college alumni, randomly selected from a list of 15,012 names. Quantitative data were disaggregated by groups: 0 = 3 years post-graduation (recent graduates), >3 = 6 years post-graduation (advanced graduates), >6 = 9 years post-graduation (experienced graduates) and >9 years (senior graduates) for analyses using Independent Samples T-Test, Simple Linear Regressions and Pearson's r Correlations tests.FindingsResults of the Pearson's r Correlation tests showed significant findings in terms of strength of relationship between variables involved the following: (1) gender and average motivation (0.004) (2) time since graduation and average commitment (0.047), (3) gender and average value (0.045) and (4) age and average value (0.036). This suggests that gender has the strongest relationship between variables. Also, age and time since graduation seem to be correlated to how alumni value their undergraduate education and are willing to commit to continuing to support an organization. The averages of three types of groups of continuous data (value, motivation and commitment) were analyzed as the results related to ethnicity and time since graduation. When comparing ethnic outcomes based on two categories, non-Caucasian and Caucasian, although there were fewer respondents in the non-Caucasian category, those individuals' perception of value, motivation and commitment rated higher (8.87, 7.71 and 5.83 respectively) than their Caucasian counterparts (8.41, 6.58 and 4.96 respectively). Additionally, it is interesting to note that for both groups, the average commitment score was the lowest out of the three for both groups. Finally, for Caucasians, time since graduation seemed to increase their perception of value of their undergraduate business degree. Whereas, for non-Caucasians, the perception of value was less. This specific result could be since in the age group for non-Caucasians seven of the eight respondents were in the = 47 age group.Research limitations/implicationsResults rested limited to opinions of undergraduate business alumni. Because the rate of return for the data results was limited, it is unlikely that a firm argument can be made solely on the results from the Pearson's r Correlation in terms of a conclusion for the research question for this study. However, based on the results of this study the responses can be generalized to the respondents, not the overall population. Therefore, the Null Hypothesis was rejected as preliminary findings, with the understanding that additional data could change this decision.Practical implicationsPractitioners (instructors and professional staff) in higher education can utilize the results of this study to align their decision making and engagement actions. For example, as the work of Starrett (2018) shows, in and out of classroom engagement, approachability and the ability to determine what their clients, (future students) are ways that practitioners can help to increase retention rates. For practitioners and policymakers alike, it is important that they work together to understand what today's potential students are looking for in their educational experience. In the past, extrinsic values such as fancy dorms and athletic facilities may have been key considerations. However, as this study has shown, today's potential students are seeking more intrinsic values from their college experiences such as a deeper connection with faculty and staff, a feeling of inclusion and belonging and commitment, on the part of a university, to their long-term success. Additionally, it is vitally important that both groups work together because everyone who works in higher education has a level of responsibility for enrollment and retention rates. This study provides information that will enable both groups to begin to meet those goals.Social implicationsSocial implications from this study surround better understanding of current and potential college students determine the value of higher educational degrees. Practitioners (instructors and professional staff) in higher education can utilize the results of this study to align their decision making and engagement actions. For example, as the work of Starrett (2018) shows, in and out of classroom engagement, approachability and the ability to determine what their clients, (future students) are ways that practitioners can help to increase retention rates. Additionally, it is vitally important that both groups work together because everyone who works in higher education has a level of responsibility for enrollment and retention rates. This study provides information that will enable both groups to begin to meet those goals.Originality/valueThis information is important to universities because the results can act as a guide to aid them in revising their current individual recruitment and retention models for accuracy and relevancy. While a review of the current literature showed an abundance of theoretical information about economic value, it also showed a deficit in connecting alternative meanings of value as it relates to the university selection and commitment process. This study called attention to the need to examine this area to clarify higher education's other values to society.

Abstract:
Abstract The education system in Romania will have to take into account the need to give people the skills and abilities needed to adapt quickly to changing labor markets. In the current context the study is based on comparative statistical analyses and correlations in the field of human resources in the higher educational system, analyses based on secondary data or information provided by the Romanian Statistical Yearbook published by the National Statistics Institute and other publications by public institutions in Romania such as: The National Bank, The Ministry of National Education, etc. The paper presents the major trends and shift in macroeconomic indicators specific to higher education and proposes a model to better understand the relationship between these indicators. In conclusion without continuous training and mobile resource salary comparable to those of EU countries, along with an infusion of capital proper, cannot achieve highly educated people well integrated, civilized, cultivated so as to reach sustainable growth on the long term. In this regard the Ministry of National Education and RQAAHE launched nationwide research projects involving both teaching staff in higher education, and the alumni and students. In order to decrease unemployment among young people (24-30 years) were involved in these projects and employers so that there is a better relationship between skills acquired in the continuous education and labor market; projects that are underway or to be implemented.

Abstract:
The heated discussion and debate about university disruptions triggered by the recent Jim Clifton article, "University: The Impending Disruption" in social media outlines questions and concerns about the future role of higher education in supplying industrial labor in the world. The trigger is Google and Ernst & Young ads will pay anyone who is able to work with him without having to have a diploma, including a diploma from a university. It's like lightning in broad daylight, surprising and reaching a position that has been enjoyed by universities in the world which in fact are suppliers of expertise, results of research, and thoughts needed by the industrial world. however, it seems that it has been canceled by Google and Ernst & Young, which soon followed other giant global companies. The college death bell was stretched by two giant companies, following an article written by Terry Eagleton, entitled "University Slow Death". Then the question is how does the STIT Islamic Education Study Program Raden Wijaya Mojokerto integrate academic education and job training towards graduate work readiness to meet the Industrial Age 4.0 ?. The results of the discussion concluded: The STIT Raden Wijaya Mojokerto Islamic Education Study Program in integrating academic education and job training towards graduate work readiness to meet the Industrial Age 4.0 must integrate the following dual tracks: 1) make alumni achieve professional talent from three qualification levels (skilled, expert and degree) because every job needs to learn practices that are embedded in a dual structure of education and training programs which essentially understand theory and master practice. Therefore, the content of practice needs to regulate the elements of training in each subject; 2) To obtain the ability to complete professional assignments fully expressed more precisely by the idea of holistic problem solving by playing an objective situation scenario for students competing with each other in high functionality and low cost.

The service learning in multimedia skills for teenagers and young people as training program for the community was conducted through the expertise of Bachelor Program in Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Kristen Maranatha, for Gereja Kristen Pasundan (GKP) Cideres. The purpose of this training was to equip people with skills or knowledge that can be useful in daily activities. As this training was given during the Covid-19 pandemic, by requirement of health and safety protocols, the service learning was implemented online via the internet in a form of webinar. Online digital activities are increasingly important as conventional physical interactions and communication in work or study environment become unsafe and to be avoided or to be done less often than usual. Unfortunately for most people, technical skills for working or studying online are not yet adequate, especially in multimedia using some recent tools and softwares. So in this program, basic multimedia producing skills using Microsoft Photos (video editing feature) and Microsoft Power Point were introduced. The end result of the training was satisfactory, as those who participate are being able to produce simple digital multimedia presentation using the aforementioned tools and softwares.
