Abstract:
This paper explores how Abdullah Yusuf Ali interpreted the Jews in his tafseer book; The Holy Qur’an: Text, Translation and Commentary. His interpretation becomes worth to discuss due to his profile as a Moslem officer of Great Britain which politically supported the contemporary Jews in Israel. Additionally, Yusuf Ali was the big fan of the concept of inter-faith dialogue. On the other hand, he was so proud of being a Moslem so that he wrote an English translation and commentary of the Koran in order international society can understand Islam well. This paper is going to show how Yusuf Ali put himself as a Moslem and at the same time, a Britain officer, (and also admirer) who also lived in non-Moslem milieus. The discussion will explore two parts. The first one is the diction(s) used by Yusuf Ali to interpret the Jews verses, while the second is the contemporary contextualization on his interpretation on Jews verses into nowadays life. Using library research method through primary and secondary references combined with a hermeneutical approach, this paper comes to the following conclusion. First, there found five dictions to mention the Jews at the Jews verses, which are Jews, those who followed the Jewish law, those that stand on Judaism, those who follow the spirit of Moses and those who follow the Jewish scripture. Second, by the diverse diction, Yusuf Ali implied that The Jews is all about the spirit and physical action of individual instead of religious institution or affiliation.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This study aims to throw light on Abdullah Yusuf Ali's translation of the Qur'an into English. The paper will discuss the various aspects of his life and posit how aspects of his personal experience may be seen to have affected the particularities of his translation, focusing on instances of personal taʾwīl in his translation. As such, the study will focus specifically on examples from Abdullah Yusuf Ali's interpretations of the eternal bliss of Paradise and discuss the extent to which he considers this reward to be of a solely spiritual nature, free of material and corporeal pleasures. In the light of this discussion I will then advance the proposition that translation of the Qur'an by a single individual is potentially problematic, rather the cooperation of a group of scholars in undertaking such an exercise may be the best way to achieve a more accurate and effective rendition of the Holy Text.

Abstract:
The aim of the present study is to examine the semantic Loss and its causes in two English translations of Surah Ya-Sin by two translators: Abdullah Yusuf Ali and Arthur John Arberry. Semantic loss focuses on over-translation, under-translation or mistranslation of a source text and can result in partial or complete loss of meaning in the target text. Semantic loss is inevitable while translating from a source language due to the lack of equivalence of some cultural words in the target language. Baker’s typology of equivalence (1992) was adopted to identify causes of losses in the two English translations: Equivalence at word level, above word level, Textual, Grammatical and Pragmatic Equivalence. This research is qualitative in nature and is based on Hermeneutics, an interpretative framework of translation studies. The English translations of Surah Ya-Sin were selected from Abdullah Yusuf Ali’s work “The Holy Qur’an: Text and Translation” (1938) and Arthur John Arberry’s “The Koran Interpreted” (1968). Two language experts were consulted for the present study to understand the meanings of the source text. Moreover Tafsir by Ibn Khathir (2000) was used as a reference book. The analysis of the data revealed frequent partial loss of meaning in Abdullah Yusuf Ali’s translation and complete loss of meaning in Arthur John Arberry’s translation. Linguistic deviation from the source text was identified as one of the major causes of such losses.

Abstract:
The brief and little known Russian occupation of the Levantine port of Beirut in 1773–1774 reveals much about the nature of Russian engagement with the Arab Middle East. Rather than passing as an insignificant episode, it instead complemented a well documented Russian desire to play an expanded role in the Levant and take advantage of Catherine II’s first war with the Ottoman empire (1768–1774) to establish forward positions in the Mediterranean. Alongside the Russian naval victory at Chesme in July 1770, Russia accepted alliance overtures from Egypt’s Mameluk governor Ali Bey, who was in rebellion against the Ottoman Sultan. In a complicated series of diplomatic and military maneuvers, Russian forces offered to aid Ali and his allies. By 1773 this process came to involve an agreement with the Druze Emir Yusuf al-Shihab, who accepted Russian protection as part of a military alliance that called for a Russian attack on Beirut in exchange for tribute. Yusuf’s inability to pay the tribute led to a prolonged Russian presence in Beirut, but the situation’s eventual resolution and the Kücük Kainardja peace treaty of 1774 led to the Russians’ departure. Despite the episode’s brevity, it nevertheless allowed for the development of pronounced Russian intentions to create favorable relationships with the peoples and leaders of the Levant. The Russian relationship with Yusuf and other local potentates, moreover, mirrored Russia’s interactions with peoples and leaders on its vast steppe frontier, indicating another axis of imperial advance.

Abstract:
Abtract: This paper aims to explore the concept of non-radicalism da’wah initiated by Ali Mahfudz. Although Ali Mahfudz did not explicitly say in his magnum opus, that the concept of da’wah refers to the method of non-radicalism da’wah, the author sees many indications that support the concept. In conducting research, the authors use qualitative-library research with content analysis methods. In analyzing the data, the writer uses the indicator of non-radicalism da’wah formulated by Yusuf al-Qaradawi. The results obtained in this paper are (1) the concept of non-radicalism da’wah embodied through three major conceptions, namely mauidzah (tadzkir and qissah), isryad, and khitabah in which there are explanatory explanations about the importance of gentleness, wisdom, grace, be patient, and always follow the way of the Prophet's da’wah in the Koran which includes wisdom, mauidzah hasanah, and debate in the best way, (2) a preacher must balance between the use of revelation and reason, (3) in matters that are khilafiyah, Ali Mahfudz just explained it, without forcing the reader to be fanatical about one understanding, such as the law for someone who does not get da'wah based on the Muktazilah, Asy'ariyah, and al-Maturidiyah understandings, (4) permitting the use of israiliyyat as da’wah material, the use of takwil in interpreting the verse mutasyabihat, and the suggestion to refer the theologians (mutakallimin) in da’wah, (5) dynamism in his da’wah was allegedly caused by the transformation of religious experience from the Syafi'i school to the Hanafi school of thought.
 Keywords: Da’wah; Ali Mahfudz; Non-Radicalism ; Mu’idzah; Irsyad; Khitabah.

Abstract:
Long since Translation Studies emerged as a nascent academic discipline, it has seen a considerable number of descriptive theories and models, among which, Catford’s (1965) translation ‘shift’ approach has garnered particular attention within the realm of translational comparative studies. Quranic texts have constantly been the center of attention, as the Quran has established itself as the most famous and sublime text in Arabic. As such, the present comparative study aimed at investigating the frequencies of different types of translation shifts occurring in translations form Arabic into English drawing on Catford’s (1956) shift typology. To this end, seven translations of the first thirty verses of the Chapter ‘Yusuf’ rendered by Sarwar, Arberry, Irring, Pickthall, Saffarzade, Shakir and Yusef Ali were selected to be studied. First, each element was compared for any probable shift(s). Then, the Chi-square procedure was applied in order to establish the existence of any statistically significant differences in shift frequencies. The results indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between five types of shifts. The results also revealed that the most frequent translation shifts from Arabic into Persian were Unit shifts and Level shifts with a mean of 83 and 49 respectively.

Predicado normalmente del emir ‘Ali ibn Yusuf, el mencionado sintagma no plantea problemas en cuanto a su léxico o sintaxis. Searching for Solace consists of two parts, two appendixes, and a sectiondisplaying documents and photos of Yusuf Ali and those with whom he hadcontact. The author devotes the first part to A. Yusuf Ali's life and his service tothe British. He was born in 1872 in Surat, western India, into the Bohra mercantilecommunity, whose members trace their Muslim ancestry to the effonsof preachers sent by the FaJimid caliphs in Cairo. Ali was sent to Bombay forhis education. While there, he attended the new school of the Anjuman-e-Islamand, subsequently, a missionary school named after its founder, John Wilson. He was barely eight or nine years old when he left home. Classes were taughtin both Urdu and English. When he was fifteen, Ali left Wilson's school andentered its senior section, Wilson College, which was affiliated to the Universityof Bombay. Sherif thinks that Ali's education in the Anjuman schoolhelped him resist the cultural onslaught of the dominant British colonizer.Ali arrived in Britain in 1891 to study law at St. John College. He eventuallybecame one of its best students, which predisposed him to work in theIndian Civil Service (ICS), a much prized career. His first appointment, on 23January 1896, was assistant magistrate and collector in Saharanpur, India. Aftera few years in India, he returned to Britain in 1905 for a leave. While there, hemarried Teresa Mary Shalders. Sherif thinks that his marriage to an Englishwoman symbolizes Ali's desire to establish a bridge between India and the West. But this marriage ended in divorce in 1912 following his wife's an exttamaritalaffair. Their children were left in her custody. The affairs of his children are consideredto be one reason that pushed Ali to resign from ICS. But his loyalty tothe British empire remained sttong. When Britain declared war on Germany inAugust 1914, he reaffirmed his commitment: "I am prepared and shall bepleased to volunteer to temporary service, in any capacity in which I can be usefulon account of the War" (p. 32).Ali's strong commitment to the British was based on his belief that Indiacould learn a lot from Britain. But he also had a strong faith in Islam as a religionand civilization that could contribute much to the West. This should havebeen among the strong reasons that motivated him to ttanslate the Qur'an intoEnglish. His Interpretation of the Qur'an has made him famous among Muslimspeakers of English throughout the world. Abstract:
This study presents a comparative analysis of the translation of the holy Qur'anic verses by Pickthall and Yusuf Ali from one hand, and the translation of Sahih International from the other. By tracing the first translation style, it had been found that they tend to use archaism or old words to a large extent as they trying to make their translation sound like 'scripture' to an English- speaking audience, and this results in loss of meaning pose semantic difficulty in translating the Holy verses. Abdalati M. Ali in his paper (Lexical and Semantic Problems in Translating Quran) proves that Pickthall and Yusuf Ali tend to use archaism in their translation, as he puts that ‘'the translations of Pickthall and Ali appear to be written in an archaic form of English''. In contrast to the first style the Sahih International translation aims to provide a literal rendering of the Arabic of the Qur’an into “plain” English. It has become popular as a more contemporary translation, but focuses more on providing a literal meaning of the Arabic than on providing smooth English. This makes it a useful resource for students who are seeking to learn the literal meaning of the Arabic of the Qur’an. Being a text at the highest degree of eloquence, the Qur’ān, as a whole, poses a serious challenge for translators and linguists alike. The challenging areas within the Qur'anic text are indeed too numerous to count. This paper investigates one of the major problem areas when translating the Qur’ān, namely, archaic words. This linguistic feature is intrinsic to the Qur'anic text and, in turn, has an impact on its translation leading to ambiguity. In this regards the rendition of qur'anic verses is considered as a difficult mission, this is due to Quran is written in a highly symbolic and classical form of the Arabic language, therefore, rendering it requires a deep knowledge and grasping of its meanings in addition to that translators should be able to reflect those meanings into the target language. Based on the mentioned facts usage of archaic and old words will constitute obstacle because it increases the complexities of target text, thus, it will distort the implicit meaning, and confuse target readers. Analytical descriptive method of data collection has been followed which comprises tools, samples, procedures.

Abstract:

 ABSTRAC:
This paper focuses on discussing the distribution of the Naqsabandiyah order in the Riau-Lingga kingdom based on the book Kaifiyah al-Dzikir ‘ala Tharīqah an-Naqsabandiyah al-Mujaddidiyah al-Ahmadiyah (KZTN) by Syekh Muhamad Shalih az-Zawawi. With a socio-intellectual historical approach, it was revealed that the spread of the Naqsabandiyah Order could not be separated from the influence of Penyengat and Haramain relationship. This relationship stems from the journey of rihlah and performing the pilgrimage performed by Raja Ahmad and Raja Ali Haji and their entourage. The strong scientific relationship between Har Peace and the Archipelago, especially for the Riau Islands, strengthens the basis for the development of religious teachings and understanding in the Riau Islands. The most important feature in this network is that the scientific relationship forms a continuous salāsilaḥ and ijāzah as evidence of continuity of teachings and muktabarah. Apart from containing the side paths, the KZTN book contains the dhikr procedures that apply to the Naqsabandiyah al-Ahmadiyah order. Meanwhile, a figure who was quite influential in further developments was Yang Dipertuan Muda Raja Muhammad Yusuf al-Ahmadi, as a person who received bai'ah from Syekh Muhammad Shalih az-Zawawi as caliph of the tarekat for Riau-Lingga.

Abstract:
Pre-marital pregnancy, fornication, and free mixing between different genders are among the problems faced by Muslim youth nowadays. This paper aims to discuss the personality preparation guidelines in facing sexual activities based on the Story of Prophet Yusuf in al-Qur’an al-Karim as well as selected prophet’s narration in Hadith. The descriptive analysis shows that Qur’an and selected Hadith prepare four dimensions of guidelines which are: spiritual strength, mental strength, emotional strength as well as physical strength. The findings reveal that in terms of spirituality aspect, Muslim youth should be fully conscious of the existence of Allah and think of the bounty divine given by Allah. In terms of mental strength, Muslim youth must have positive thinking and consider the long term effects in this world and next before engaging themselves in the negative activities. Pertaining to emotional strength, Muslim youth should control their anger, and pertaining to physical strength, they need to keep their body healthy. Abstract:
The metaphor is one of the main problems in translation because it covers the whole figurative language uses. It also includes the most figurative language used in the Quran. Different theories and approaches have been proposed with regard to metaphor translation. In this paper, I favor using a lexicological metaphor concepts that proposed by Dickin, where the dictionary becomes the main source of the analysis. This paper is analyzing and comparing the translation of metaphor in Quran and their corresponding translated English versions through the two selected translations. The data analyzed consists of ten examples representing two types of metaphor in this paper; both are lexicalized and nonlexicalized metaphor. The findings obtained from the analyses of the related data show that there are some techniques of metaphor translation of the Quran, although every translator does not constantly translate metaphor with the same technique in the same type.

Abstract:
This study investigates the meaning of the Qur'ānic near-synonyms الإفك al-'ifk and الكذب al-kadhib (lie) and their English translation. It aims to identify the contextual meaning of these Qur'ānic near-synonyms based on the exegeses of the Holy Qur'ān. Then, it explains the nuances that exist between these two lexical items in terms of denotative meaning. This study also examines how the semantic differences between these Qur'ānic near-synonyms are reflected in the English translation of the Holy Qur'ān by Ali (2006). This study adopts the RC-S approach by Murphy (2003) as a theoretical framework for data analysis. It also employs the qualitative approach to collect and analyze the data of the study. The exegeses of the Holy Qur'ān are consulted to identify the semantic differences between the Qur'ānic near-synonyms. The findings reveal that there exist some differences in meaning between these Qur'ānic near-synonyms in terms of denotative meaning and that the semantic differences between these Qur'ānic near-synonyms are not reflected in Ali's English translation of the Holy Qur'ān. The study provides recommendations for readers and translators especially the translators of the Holy Qur'ān.

Abstract:
The present study is a Corpus-based research which analyzes the translation of Body-Related Metaphors in the Holy Koran by Yusuf Ali, Marmaduke Pickthal and Thomas Irving, within the framework of Newmarks procedures of metaphor translation. The data analyzed consists of a sample of 107 words and phrases which are categorized as metaphors of ear, eye, face, and hand. Out of the seven procedures proposed by Newmark for translating metaphors, the translators applied five procedures. None of the translators applied Newmarks fourth or sixth procedure and no new procedure was observed. The results revealed that among 107 metaphors examined, there is a general tendency (57.94%) towards reproducing the same image in the TL, and the three translators translated 68 metaphors (63.55%) using similar procedures. This study concludes that the likely and the most frequent metaphor translation procedures in the Holy Koran are: (1) to reproduce the same image in the TL, Newmarks first procedure; and (2) to convert metaphor to sense (literal meaning), Newmarks fifth procedure. Keywords: metaphor, the Holy Koran, Peter Newmark, procedure

'llm al khilaf is a science which deals with the Islamically sound argumentsused by Muslim jurists (fuqaha') to reach their various legal opinions. Assuch, it can also be known as comparative Islamic law. Historically, the variousmadhahib of Islam shared and benefitted from this science, and there is noreason why we also cannot benefit from it.We know that there were differences of opinion and practice even duringthe time of the Prophet Muhammad, for his Companions did not vieweverything the same way. This state of affairs naturally continued after theProphet’s death. The suhuf ascribed to some of the Companions and theinfixmation given in the relevant biographical literature were studied for details. The fiqh-related issues debated by the Companions increased in number andcomplexity during the time of the Successors (Tabi’un), when the developmentof Islamic jurisprudence was just getting started. The judicial and juristic opinions expressed in Majmu ‘al Fiqh by Zaydibn ‘Ali (d. l22/740), in al Muwatta’ by Imam Malik (d. 179/795), byMuhammad ibn al Hasan al Shaybani (d. 189/805) which he ascribed.to hismaster Abu Hanifah, and by Abu Yusuf Ya‘qub (d. 182/769), especially inhis Kitiib al Kharaj, a1 Radd ala Siyar al Awza'i, and Ikhtilaf Abi Hanifahwa Ibn Abi Layla may be cited here as the first scholarly sources of ‘ilmal khilaf. The related literature on differences between thefuqahii’ is fullof points which may be studied for further information. With the spread of Islam and the incorporation of many non-Muslimsubjects into its domains, new legal questions were raised. The resultingdecisions led to the profound and scholarly development of Ilm al khilafand the establishment of the methodological principles of Islamic law in severalbranches. This research aims to find out how the law and how to perform 'prayers without hindrance and compare it for the deceased based on the evidence of hadiths, as well as the analysis of fiqh scholars. The method used is tahlili and muqarin, which is to analyze the hadiths that contradict the explicit meaning, then compared between the hadiths with reference to the science of mukhtalif al-hadith. Figures using the tahili method include: Ibn Hajar al-'Atsqalaniy, Al-'Abbas Syihab al-Din Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Qastalani, Syams al-Din Muhammad bin Yusuf bin 'Ali al-Kirmani, Muhammad bin' Abd al-Baqi 'bin Yusuf al-Zarqani. Those who use the method of muqarin are Imam Nawawi and Badr al-Din Abu Muhammad Mahmud bin Ahmad. Differences of opinion among the scholars of fiqh (khilafiyah), because there is no explanation in qath'i both in the Qur'an and Sunnah. From here comes the ijtihad of scholars whose truth is relative (zhanniy). In the matter of the law of praying 'prayers without hindrance, and its qadha for the dead are found hadiths whose explicit meaning contradict each other. The science of mukhtalif al-hadith is a solution in ijtihad to compromise and get legal conclusions. The output of this study makes a positive contribution for Muslims to obtain legal clarity as a practical reference in practice.

AbstractThe Matenadaran, Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, is a unique repository of Armenian and Oriental manuscripts. The Oriental Collection of the Matenadaran (known usually as Arabo-Persian Collection), including manuscripts in Persian, Arabic, Turkish, Hebrew, Indian and other languages (total ca. 2,500), is formed over a long time and is regularly augmented by purchases and gifts. This collection covers nearly all subjects of human and natural sciences and culture, including theology, jurisprudence, Qur'ānic sciences, Tafsīrs, Hadīthes, lexicography, literature, poetry, history, politics, philosophy, logic, astronomy, magic, mathematics, medicine, veterinary, and agriculture. Among them there are some Sufi codices from the period of the 15th to the 19th century, illustrated and illuminated in the various ateliers in Iran and the region. The article presents the analysis of some Oriental medieval miniatures from the Matenadaran Collection connected with the Sufi motifs in their compositions. The most important are illustrative cycles of a copy dating back to 1848-1849 of the Commentaries of the Seven Qasidas by Husayn Ibn Ahmad al-Zuzani (Ms. no. 1610); of the Afghan manuscript of the 18th century Gulshan-i Afghan by 'Ali Akbar Oraqzay (Ms. no. 538); of a manuscript (no. 599) dated from 1841-1842 and containing the poem Yusuf va Zuleykha by 'Abd ul-Rahman Djami; and of a manuscript of 1629 (no.1036), the travel diary of the Iranian diplomat Muhammad 'Ali Bek Isfahani; as well a number of single miniature compositions from the collection of Louise Aslanian (Paris) (no.1999).

Abstract:
Reduplication can be defined as a morphological process where the root or stem of a word (or part of it) is repeated exactly or with a slight change. It can be found in many world languages with various types and uses. This paper investigates reduplication in terms of phonology, morphology, and semantics in some selected verses of the Glorious Qur’an concerning its kinds and its translation into English. The main problem of the present research is concerned with the way of translating reduplication concerning the Glorious Quran. Different interpretations of reduplication are adopted to show the efficiency and the rhetorical functions of these forms. More specifically, four translations of Pickthall, Yusuf Ali, Shakir, and Arberry are examined to find the strategies and methods used to translate reduplication accurately and appropriately. It is concluded that some translators succeeded in translating reduplication, whereas others could maintain neither the functions nor the impacts of such forms in English. However, it is challenging to render reduplication phonologically and morphologically into English due to the eloquence and inimitability of the Glorious Qur’an.

Abstract:
This paper is an attempt to study the Zwart’s comparative model of shifts and Nida’s naturalness applied in Persian to English translations of the Holy Qur’an. To achieve the purpose of the research, after considering the historical background related to this study, the researchers selected three English translations of the Holy Qur’an by Saffarzadeh (2005), Pickthall (1930) and Yusuf Ali (1977). As a next step, the first thirty verses of sura “Ya'sin” were considered and the Persian verses were contrasted with their English renderings. Then 51 shift cases were identified, and based on the Zwart’s comparative model of shifts, the number of naturalness were classified. Finally, the frequency of shift cases and naturalness were calculated. Based on the obtained results, the researchers concluded that the highest number of applying the shifts belongs to Pickthall with 21 cases. Furthermore, the most frequent naturalness found belongs to Saffarzadeh, which is exactly 47.54% of the total occurrence of the naturalness. The data were analyzed by ANOVA and Spearman’s Correlation test and its significance at the level zero; therefore, there is not any direct effect between these two factors i.e., Zwart’s comparative model of shifts and naturalness applied in Persian to English translations.

Abstract:
The article introduces the content of a previously unknown document related to the history of Turkestan emigration in Egyptin the 40s of the twentieth century. We mean the Charter of Turkestan Charity Society (Turkestan Jamiyat-i Khayriyesi), created inCairo in 1944 by a group of eminent people from the Bolshevik Central Asia political refugees. The document is written in two languages: Arabic and Turkish. Not only the main part of the document is of particular interest, but it also makes it possible to identify the names of prominent representatives of theTurkestan emigrant community who participated in the creation of the society. The relevance of the proposed material is caused by the fact that the information about the very process of creation and its initiators is not available neither in domestic nor in foreign theses published recently on the history ofTurkestan emigration. In addition, the article reveals some fresh evidence about a group of people who were in close relationship with one of the brightest representatives ofTurkestan emigration, a Tatar theologian, Musa Bigiev (1875–1949). Here we mean HH Princess Khadija Abbas Hilmi (1879–1951), a representative of the Muhammad Ali dynasty, as well as Musa Bigiev’s students Yusuf Uralgiray (1915–1976) and Muhammad Turkistani (1904–1991).

Abstract:
The present study is a linguistic assessment of the translation of Surat al-Fatiha.The researcher has chosen the translation of Surat al-Fatiha because of its importance to all Muslims around the world. This significance comes from its existence in every prayer Muslims do five times a day. Besides, Muslims opt to recite this holy sura whenever they start doing something whether it is simple or complicated seeking Allah's approval. Non-Arab Muslims as well as non-Muslims have to know the meaning of this significant sura through its translation into English. In fact, many translators managed to translate not only this sura but the whole Glorious Quran centuries ago. However, the present study tackles the translation of four prominent translations, i.e., those of Abdullah Yusuf Ali(1968) [first appeared in 1939], Arthur Arberry (1955), Shakir (2002), and al-Hilali and Khan (2007)[first appeared in 1974]. The study tries to show how different translators have applied translation strategies to arrive at a satisfactory target text in the hope of communicating the message to the largest possible number of receptors. It aims at describing the ways different translators follow in handling their translation as well as analyzing the lexical, structural, stylistic problems involved in translating Surat al-Fatiha.

Abstract:
This paper aims to analyse the characteristics of a Muslim Malay woman as portrayed in the novel titled ‘Diary of a Nurse’ by Aminah Mokhtar from the perspective of Feminism Talbiah. The concept of Feminism Talbiah integrates Elaine Showalter’s notion of Feminism and Yusuf al-Qardhawi’s thoughts of Muslim women. Talbiah means a total surrender to Allah SWT. Tauhid is an essential element of a Muslim Malay woman who engages in total surrender to Allah SWT in terms of her personality, psychology, spiritual and other aspects of life. Textual analysis of the novel reveals that the main character, who is a Muslim Malay woman named Siti Munirah, holds the concept of talbiah as reflected in her obedience to Allah SWT. This paper concludes the character of Siti Munirah is developed based on the element of tauhid, which is the element neglected in the western feminism. Keywords: Feminism, feminism Talbiah, female character, Ginocritic, Malay, Muslim, tauhid.Cite as: Ali, A.H., & Abdullah, I.R. Perwatakan wanita Melayu muslim dalam novel ‘Diari Seorang Jururawat’ karya Aminah Mokhtar [The characteristics of a Malay muslim woman in the novel ‘Diari Seorang Jururawat’ by Aminah Mokhtar].

Abstract:
Purpose: The formal objective of this study is to explore the beauty and ugliness contained within the poetry collection Maulīd Al-Diba'i, an Arabic-language text that conveys messages of beauty and ugliness in its verses. The material of this study is the poetry collection Maulīd Al-Diba'i, which was written by Imam Wajihuddin 'Abdur Rahman bin Muhammad bin 'Umar bin 'Ali bin Yusuf bin Ahmad bin 'Umar ad-Diba'ieasy-Syaibani al-Yamani az-Zabidiasy-Syafi'i (henceforth Abdur Rahman Al-Diba'i).
Methodology: The current research is descriptive that explains the crux of poetry. For this purpose the poetry collection Maulīd Al-Diba' I was used and analysed. To achieve the objective analytical method was used.
.Main Findings: Based on the analysis, it may be concluded that the poetry collection Maulīd Al-Diba'i is a work of Arabic-language Islamic literature that was influenced by the verses of the Qur'an and their beauty. The verses of Maulīd Al-Diba'i are conveyed through the language of prayers, hopes, and blessings. These prayers, hopes, and blessings contain within them their beauty, both at the surface and below it. The poet, Abdurrahman Al-Diba'i, readily conveys his prayers, hopes, and blessings by briefly retelling the story of the Prophet Muhammad's travels to spread Islam throughout the Arabian Peninsula.
Implications/Applications: This article applies the theory of aesthetic realism, which contains within it two key concepts: physical beauty and divine beauty. Physical beauty is related to the perceptions of the senses, and is cognitive, cultural, and natural, whereas divine beauty is perceived through the mind and promotes awareness and mental experience.
Novelty/Originality of this study: This research will uncover the facts that on what basis, in the poetry collection Maulīd Al-Diba'i, is there a dominant message of beauty that is expressed explicitly and opposed with a message of ugliness that is expressed implicitly. It will also add to literature explaining that the text Maulīd Al-Diba'i may be understood as a tool for satisfying the spiritual demands of readers and enabling them to contemplate their religion.

Abstract:
Background:Interstitial lung disease is an important cause of mortality and morbidity for RA. Lung computerized tomography (CT) is a valid method for the detection of interstitial lung disease (ILD) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. Besides, CT may have a role in the detection of progression in RA-ILD.Objectives:To compare the clinical and radiological features of RA-ILD patients with and without radiographic progression according to lung CT.Methods:From the hospital database, all patients recorded as having RA according to ICD-10 code and had a lung CT examination were recruited. RA was confirmed in 822 of 2305 (35.6%) records. Three radiologists re-evaluated lung CTs and 156/822 (18.9%) patients with had RA-ILD. Of these 156 patients, 101 (64.7%) had at least 1 follow-up long CT and these patients were included to analysis. Demographic and clinical data of the patients were recorded. ILD was divided into 3 main groups by radiologists: Usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP), non-specific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP) and airway disease (AD) (bronchiectasis and/or bronchiolitis without parenchymal involvement). Avila et al reported a grading system to assess the severity of ILD using HRCT (1). In our study we utilized a similar method using interlobular septal thickening, ground glass opacities, reticulations, traction bronchiectasis and honeycomb appearance as elementary findings to evaluate the RA associated ILD. Septal thickening, reticulations and ground glass opacities were considered as relatively mild features whereas traction bronchiectasis and honey comb appearance were considered as severe findings as those frequently result from advanced fibrosis. The lungs were divided into upper, middle and lower zones each with equal number of slices. Progression was defined as involvement of more zones in vertical extent by the same elementary findings or emergence of more severe findings (i.e traction bronchiectasis or honey comb appearance) in the same zones compared to previous exam. For the multivariate analysis, the possible factors identified with univariate analyses were further entered into the logistic regression analysis to determine independent predictors of radiographic progression. Results:In this study, 101 patients with 215 lung CT were included to analysis. 67 (66.3%) patients had 3 CTs, 30 (29.9%) patients 4 CTs and 17 (16.9%) patients had 5 CTs. Mean duration between first and last CT was 47.7±38.8 months. Of 101 patients, radiographic progression was seen in 42 (41.6%) patients. Univariate comparison of demographic, clinical and radiographic features of patients with or without radiographic progression were given in Table. In multivariate analysis (adjusted for ILD disease duration)having ground-glass opacity(aOR 8.6; CI: 1.65-44.9; p=0.011),male gender(aOR 2.9; CI: 1.13-7.4; p=0.026) were found as independent risk factors radiographic progression, whiletaking methotrexate (ever) (aOR 0.21; CI: 0.07-0.6; p=0.04) was found as an independent protector factor for radiographic progression. Conclusion:The prediction of ILD progression in RA patients were a challenge for clinicians. According to lung CT, baseline ground-glass opacities looks like prominent factor for ILD progression, particularly at male RA patients. Using methotrexate in ILD patients is a dilemma in routine practice, our results demonstrate that methotrexate (not other cs or bDMARDs) is protective drugs for ILD progression, however these results should be confirmed in the further studies.References:[1]Avila NA.
