W osiemnastowiecznej Francji théâtres de société stały się jedną z ulubionych rozrywek arystokracji, szlachty i zamożnych mieszczan. Niekiedy wymagały olbrzymich nakładów finansowych (jak u Księżny du Maine czy Markizy de Pompadour), często obywały się bez skomplikowanej dekoracji i wyszukanych kostiumów; niemal zawsze były organizowane przez kobiety, niemal zawsze łączyły się z aktywnością prowadzonych przez nie salonów. Ta moda na prywatne teatry tworzone z myślą o zaprzyjaźnionych widzach przyczyniła się do osłabienia hierarchiczności francuskiego społeczeństwa: gośćmi wykwintnych salonów stawali się aktorzy, nierzadko udzielający lekcji gry teatralnej (a nawet współwystępujący z możnymi amatorami na scenie), częstsze też stały się dyskusje między arystokracją a dramatopisarzami tworzącymi niektóre ze swoich utworów właśnie z myślą o théâtres de société, bądź jedynie współpracującymi przy prywatnych pokazach ich sztuk. Théâtres de société, wbrew wielu wyobrażeniom, nie były zatem pustą rozrywką – miały duży wpływ na zmiany hierarchii osiemnastowiecznego społeczeństwa.

Abstract:
Dihydrodinophysistoxin-1 (dihydro-DTX1, (M-H)−m/z 819.5), described previously from a marine sponge but never identified as to its biological source or described in shellfish, was detected in multiple species of commercial shellfish collected from the central coast of the Gulf of Maine, USA in 2016 and in 2018 during blooms of the dinoflagellate Dinophysis norvegica. Toxin screening by protein phosphatase inhibition (PPIA) first detected the presence of diarrhetic shellfish poisoning-like bioactivity; however, confirmatory analysis using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) failed to detect okadaic acid (OA, (M-H)−m/z 803.5), dinophysistoxin-1 (DTX1, (M-H)−m/z 817.5), or dinophysistoxin-2 (DTX2, (M-H)−m/z 803.5) in samples collected during the bloom. Bioactivity-guided fractionation followed by liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) tentatively identified dihydro-DTX1 in the PPIA active fraction. LC-MS/MS measurements showed an absence of OA, DTX1, and DTX2, but confirmed the presence of dihydro-DTX1 in shellfish during blooms of D. norvegica in both years, with results correlating well with PPIA testing. Two laboratory cultures of D. norvegica isolated from the 2018 bloom were found to produce dihydro-DTX1 as the sole DSP toxin, confirming the source of this compound in shellfish. Estimated concentrations of dihydro-DTX1 were >0.16 ppm in multiple shellfish species (max. 1.1 ppm) during the blooms in 2016 and 2018. Assuming an equivalent potency and molar response to DTX1, the authority initiated precautionary shellfish harvesting closures in both years. To date, no illnesses have been associated with the presence of dihydro-DTX1 in shellfish in the Gulf of Maine region and studies are underway to determine the potency of this new toxin relative to the currently regulated DSP toxins in order to develop appropriate management guidance.

La nostra conoscenza delle popolazioni di galassie che abitavano l'Universo a z>3 si basa principalmente su campioni di galassie selezionate in banda UV. Tuttavia, negli ultimi anni è stato scoperto che queste sorgenti non rappresentano proprio tutte le popolazioni presenti a quell'epoca. Infatti, grazie agli studi effettuati nel far-IR e sub-mm, è emersa una popolazione di galassie massive e otticamente invisibili ad alto z: le cosiddette galassie HST-dark. In questo lavoro sono stati raccolti tutti i dati di letteratura relativi alle galassie HST-dark, selezionate in maniera differente in: Franco et al. 2018, Wang et al. 2019, Yamaguchi et al. 2019, Gruppioni et al. 2020 e Smail et al. 2020. Le 87 galassie del catalogo con emissione sub-mm presentano un redshift fotometrico stimato che va da 1 a circa 7.5 con un valore mediano =3.90. Attraverso la procedura di SED-fitting sono stati stimati i parametri fisici delle sorgenti del campione ottenendo valori mediani per la massa stellare e per la luminosità infrarossa rispettivamente pari a log(M*/Msun) = 10.92±0.41 e log(Lir/Lsun) = 12.22±0.42. Si tratta dunque di galassie massive e molto star-forming, probabilmente non visibili nelle bande ottiche/near-IR perché contenenti grandi quantità di polvere oscurante. Confrontando la posizione delle galassie HST-dark sul piano M*-SFR con la sequenza principale delle galassie star-forming, è emerso che un'ampia frazione di queste sorgenti occupa la regione sub-MS e la percentuale di esse aumenta all'aumentare di z. Dalle stime ottenute sulla massa stellare, si è osservata l'esistenza di una frazione significativa (40% del campione) di galassie altamente massive (M*>10^{11} Msun), presenti anche ad alto z, che sembrano dominare la massive-end della SMF stimata attualmente in letteratura. Infine, calcolando la SMD e la SFRD si è trovato che le galassie HST-dark contribuiscono in maniera significativa ad entrambe le quantità, fino anche a ~35% delle stime totali a z>5.

Abstract:
The correlation between NMR chemical shifts of interstitial atoms and electronic structures of boron- and carbon-centered hexazirconium halide clusters was investigated by density functional theory (DFT) calculation. The influences of bridging halide and terminal ligand variations on electronic structure were examined respectively. Inverse proportionality was found between the chemical shifts and the calculated energy gaps between two Kohn-Sham orbitals of t1u symmetry, which arose from the bonding and antibonding interaction between the zirconium cage bonding orbitals and the interstitial 2p orbitals. Chemical shielding properties of the interstitial atoms were calculated with Gauge Including Atomic Orbital (GIAO) method. Stepwise ligand substitution of terminal chlorides on [(Zr6CCl12)Cl6]4-cluster by tri(n-butyl)-phosphine oxide (Bu3PO) was conducted with the aid of TlPF6. Composition of the reaction mixtures was analyzed by use of both 13C and 31P NMR. A preliminary scheme for synthesis and separation of [(Zr6CCl12)Cl6-x(Bu3PO)x]x-4 (x = 3 ?? 5) mixture based on solubility difference was reevaluated. Three 1,10-phenanthroline based bidentate ligands, namely, 2,9-Bis(diphenyl-phosphinyl)-1,10-phenanthroline, 2,9-Bis(diethoxyphosphoryl)-1,10-phenanthroline, and 2,9-Bis(di-n-butoxyphosphoryl)-1,10-phenantholine, were synthesized for bridge-chelating the hexazirconium clusters. Coordination chemistry of these ligands with the [Zr6BCl12] and [Zr6CCl12] clusters was subject to preliminary investigation.

Abstract:
We use the deep CANDELS observations in the GOODS North and South fields to revisit the correlations between stellar mass (M-*), star formation rate (SFR) and morphology, and to introduce a fourth dimension, the mass-weighted stellar age, in galaxies at 1.2 < z < 4. We do this by making new measures of M-*, SFR, and stellar age thanks to an improved SED fitting procedure that allows various star formation history for each galaxy. Like others, we find that the slope of the main sequence (MS) of star formation in the (M-*; SFR) plane bends at high mass. We observe clear morphological differences among galaxies across the MS, which also correlate with stellar age. At all redshifts, galaxies that are quenching or quenched, and thus old, have high Sigma(1) (the projected density within the central 1 kpc), while younger, star-forming galaxies span a much broader range of Sigma(1), which includes the high values observed for quenched galaxies, but also extends to much lower values. As galaxies age and quench, the stellar age and the dispersion of Sigma(1) for fixed values of M* shows two different regimes: one at the low-mass end, where quenching might be driven by causes external to the galaxies; the other at the high-mass end, where quenching is driven by internal causes, very likely the mass given the low scatter of Sigma(1) (mass quenching). We suggest that the monotonic increase of central density as galaxies grow is one manifestation of a more general phenomenon of structural transformation that galaxies undergo as they evolve.

I crescenti problemi legati ai cambiamenti climatici rendono l'impiego delle energie rinnovabili sempre più interessante. In questa ottica, in Germania si sta pianificando di aumentare la produzione di energia pulita attraverso lo sfruttamento dell’energia eolica. Nuovi impianti di turbine eoliche sono previsti nel Mare del Nord in acque medio profonde (25-45m) dove la parte immersa della struttura della turbina eolica (chiamata sottostruttura) è spesso costituita da una struttura jacket (traliccio) o tripod (a treppiedi). Questo tipo di sottostrutture trasmettono principalmente carichi assiali alle fondazioni (in genere fondazioni su palo), e il carico a trazione è la forza che maggiormente ne influenza il dimensionamento. Molte compagnie energetiche tedesche sono interessate a migliorare l’efficienza e i costi dei loro impianti eolici e, per questo, incaricano università ed istituti di ricerca (come il Fraunhofer IWES) per indagarne gli aspetti, come ad esempio il comportamento delle fondazioni offshore. All’autore di questa tesi è stata data l’opportunità di studiare e lavorare al Fraunhofer IWES e perciò questa tesi tratterà del compramento di pali caricati assialmente e staticamente pensati per sottostrutture jacket o tripod per turbine eoliche. Nello studio effettuato per questa tesi, i dati seprimentali, ottenuti da una campagna sperimentale condotta (in larga scala 1:10 1:5) su pali infissi in terreno sabbioso, sono confrontati attraverso l’impiego delle load-transfer curves (funzioni che descrivono il comportamento d’interfaccia palosuolo) usando sia un’approccio classico (fornito dal metodo di calcolo API Main Text) sia approcci più recenti (dati dai metodi di calcolo CPT). Uno script Matlab creato appositamente dall’autore di questa tesi riesce ad implementare 11 diversi tipi di load-transfer curves. Il lavoro di tesi si conclude con un esempio pratico in grado di fornire un’idea di come questo script può essere usato nella progettazione.

The theme of this thesis is the preparation of project documentation at the level for the implementation of the construction of primary schools in the village Moravany u Brna. In the framework of the preparatory study work has been processed the entire campus, including outdoor sports facilities, paved surfaces, parking lots and additional objects required for the running of the school. The subject of this thesis is only part of the main object SO01 elementary school and part of it and this is a three storey building with the main longitudinal structural wall system. The carrier of the walls and the ceiling structure is of reinforced concrete. The roof structure is designed as a desktop with internal drainage. The façade of the building is divided according to the floor, the first floor is addressed to the contact insulation system for cladding of ceramic straps in the second and the third floor is designed to ventilated the facade of fiber cement plates with colored solution. The subject of the proposal is to solve traffic in peace into two parking lots and the Terminal for lifting children.

Abstract:
L’opposition au coup d’État de 1973 au sein des forces armées chiliennes a été significative. En effet, un nombre symptomatique d’officiers, tout comme un nombre considérable des membres de la troupe, ont répondu « Non » à l’ordre de renverser le gouvernement légitime. Ces militaires légitimistes ont été particulièrement actifs dans la Marine, institution qui vit un conflit entre sa structure archaïque et le statut social de technicien acquis par les marins. Ce derniers perçoivent, avant d’autres secteurs de la société, le danger d’un coup d’État et vont tenter de s’organiser, tout d’abord pour informer les autorités et ensuite pour tenter de le faire avorter.

Notre objectif est de retracer l’histoire du mouvement des marins légitimistes et notre hypothèse de travail est que le coup d’État de 1973 n’est pas l’œuvre de l’armée mais d’une fraction de celle-ci.

Nous avons consulté quatre catégories de sources :

1) La presse :6 quotidiens et 2 hebdomadaires opposés au gouvernement d’Allende; 4 quotidiens, 2 hebdomadaires et un bimensuel proches du gouvernement ou de gauche.

2) Les essais, documents politiques, témoignages et mémoires, particulièrement les mémoires des quatre amiraux organisateurs du coup d’État.

3) Les procès entamés contre les marins dès la fin du gouvernement d’Allende, dont les 6.000 pages du célèbre procès 3926 contre les marins de la flotte.

4) Nous avons interviewé 30 marins, ce qui correspond à environ un tiers des marins condamnés par les tribunaux navals sous la dictature. En outre, nous avons interviewé, des militants, des avocats, un procureur, un général de l’aviation opposé au coup d’État, un officier de la Marine opposé au coup d’État et un officier de la Marine favorable au coup d’État. Au total 52 interviews qui totalisent un bon millier de pages.

L’introduction présente le sujet et explique sa pertinence :les réunions entre les marins et les dirigeants politiques restent un événement souvent cité dans l’historiographie qui justifie le coup d’État.

Le ch. I est un travail de compilation sur l’histoire des révoltes de marins au XXe siècle, pour identifier les éléments communs entre elles.

Le ch. II tente de situer la Marine chilienne dans son contexte historique et social, rappelant les conflits qui ont secoué la force navale et sa réorganisation lors du début de la Guerre froide et décrivant le contenu de l’enseignement donné à l’École navale des officiers.

Le ch. III décrit la vie sociale dans la Marine de 1970 –l’année de l’élection présidentielle– surtout les relations difficiles entre la troupe et les officiers. Celles-ci se manifestent à travers des réactions contradictoires au résultat de l’élection. Pendant les premiers mois du gouvernement d’Allende, un nombre croissant d’officiers manifeste son opposition, alors que des « hommes de mer » (la troupe) s’organisent pour le défendre.

Les ch. IV et V couvrent la période qui va de 1971 jusqu’à la première tentative de coup d’État le 29 juin 1973 (el Tanquetazo). Elle est marquée d’une part par l’adhésion de la plupart des officiers aux thèses putschistes, et d’autre part, par un notable développement des groupes de marins antiputschistes. Nous décrivons les relations structurelles entre les officiers et civils conjurés et l’établissement des relations entre des groupes de marins et certains partis politiques de gauche. Ce travail décrit la réunion secrète où plusieurs groupes de marins, tentent d’établir une coordination et discutent s’il faut agir avant que le coup d’État ne soit déclenché ou seulement en réaction à celui-ci.

Le chapitre VI couvre les cinq « semaines décisives » qui s’écoulent entre la tentative de putsch du 29 juin et l’arrestation des marins de la flotte, le 5 août 1973. Dans la Marine, la préparation du coup d’État arrive à sa phase finale, avec un affairement perceptible. Beaucoup de marins craignent d’être forcés à y participer. Dans ce contexte, le groupe de marins de la flotte formule une ébauche de plan d’occupation des navires et organise des réunions avec des dirigeants de gauche pour tenter une action qui ferait avorter le coup d’État imminent. Nous avons pu retracer ce plan ainsi que les célèbres réunions avec les dirigeants du PS, du MAPU et du MIR, grâce à plusieurs témoignages de marins et de « civils » présents dans ces réunions.

Le chapitre VII décrit la période entre l’arrestation des marins et les semaines qui suivent le coup d’État, décrivant les premières tortures, la difficile situation du gouvernement d’Allende, qui attaque en justice les marins « infiltrés », et le débat politique et juridique suscité par les arrestations et tortures, un des derniers débats démocratiques.

Le chapitre VIII expose la poursuite des procès sous la dictature. Parmi les avocats pro deo qui se contentent d’une timide défense pour la forme, nous avons trouvé une défense exceptionnelle des marins sur le plan politique :« le devoir de tout militaire est de défendre le gouvernement légitime », affirme l’avocate Lidia Hogtert, une dame de 75 ans, qui, en 1975, ose défier la justice militaire. En 1988, à la fin de la dictature, lorsque l’ancien secrétaire du MAPU Oscar Garretón se présente devant la justice navale, le cas connaît un nouveau retentissement :après plusieurs condamnations par des tribunaux militaires, Garreton obtient une victoire complète à la Cour Suprême. Il est acquitté de toute accusation pour « sédition et mutinerie ».

Experimental and computational studies are performed to study pressure and temperature distributions and flow patterns on impingement target surface subject to a single impinging air jet from a plenum. The experiments cover a range of jet-to- target plate distance, Z/D, from 1.5 to 12 for Reynolds number range from 5000 to 60000. The main objective is to investigate the optimal jet-to-target distance (Z/D) for stagnation point heat transfer and location of second peak of local heat transfer at small Z/D value of 1.5. Pressure and temperature sensitive paints measurements techniques are implemented to obtain the distribution of pressure and temperature on target surface. Flow visualization test has also been performed using surface oil and smoke technique to obtain the streamline distribution over the impinged surface and to qualitative study jet characteristics. The optimal (Z/D) is found to be 4.8 and second peak location for Z/D of 1.5 is at radial location (r/D) of 1.8. Comparison of average Nu with correlation from open literature, shows agreement to within experimental uncertainty for Z/D=5, while for Z/D=1.5 a 23% difference is found. Experimental results are compared to computational (CFD) prediction using Realizable κ-ε turbulence model.

Since the ductility of cast austenitic stainless steel pipes decreases due to thermal aging embrittlement after long term operation, not only plastic collapse failure but also unstable ductile crack propagation (elastic-plastic failure) should be taken into account for the structural integrity assessment of cracked pipes. In the ASME Section XI, the load multiplier (Z-factor) is used to derive the elastic-plastic failure of the cracked components. The Z-factor of cracked pipes under bending load has been obtained without considering the axial load. In this study, the influence of the axial load on Z-factor was quantified through elastic-plastic failure analyses under various conditions. It was concluded that the axial load increased the Z-factor; however, the magnitude of the increase was not significant, particularly for the main coolant pipes of PWR nuclear power plants.

Abstract An experimental and numerical study is performed to investigate heat transfer and pressure loss characteristics for impingement. Experimental heat transfer is measured by the thermochromic liquid crystal. The CFD model uses a steady state RANS approach and the shear stress transport (SST). The effect of Reynolds number (5000–25000), the distance between the holes and the distance from the hole to target on the impingement is investigated in the present study. Local Nusselt number as well as area and line average values are gotten experimentally and numerically. Besides, numerical simulations provide the detailed flow characteristics of the problem and complement experimental measurements. The result shows that the heat transfer increases with Reynolds number increasing. But the qualitative distribution of local heat transfer does not change with the increase of Reynolds number, when it is sensitive to P/D and Z/D. The performance of heat transfer is best when Z/D = 2. And the high heat transfer region of Z/D = 1 is closer to the exit than that of Z/D = 2 and Z/D = 3. The main reason is the effect of cross flow and the momentum of the jet reaching the wall. The performance of heat transfer is best when P/D = 5. And the high heat transfer region of P/D = 4 is closer to the exit than that of P/D = 5 and P/D = 6. The main reason is the effect of cross flow and interactions between jets.

Modelling and forecasting of dynamic processes and distribution of various substances of anthropogenic and natural origin in coastal and shelf zones of the seas and oceans are of great interest due to the high anthropogenic load of these zones. The aim of this paper is to present some examples of modelling and short-term forecasting of dynamic fields – the current, temperature and salinity in the easternmost Black Sea covering Georgian sector of the Black Sea and adjacent water area using a high-resolution regional model of the Black Sea dynamics. The z-level regional model is based on a full system of ocean hydro-thermodynamics equations and is nested in the basin-scale model of the Black Sea dynamics of Marine Hydrophysical Institute (Sevastopol). To solve the model equation system, a numerical algorithm based on the splitting method is used. Calculations show that circulation processes in the easternmost water area of the Black Sea are characterized by a permanent alternation of different circulation modes with the formation of mesoscale and submesoscale eddies throughout the year, which significantly affect the formation of thermohaline fields; atmospheric wind forcing substantially determines not only the peculiarities of the sea surface horizontal circulation, also the vertical structure of the current field.

Abstract:
Reverse flow combustors were widely used in small and micro gas turbine engines. The wall area of this type of combustors was quite large. And there were two flow turning points in their flow-path. Thus the wall cooling and main flow dilution were two intrinsic problems for them. Apart from that, their high pressure losses and heavy weight were also two problems which seriously deteriorate the performance of the engines. Moreover, their primary hole jets on opposite walls were non-symmetrical, which would affect the stability and intensity of the recirculation flows. In order to improve the combustion performance, a new conceptual Z-flowpath combustor was proposed. The new combustor consisted of two 45 degree yawing instead of returning in the main flow-path. The flowfield of the new combustor was predicted by the commercial code FLUENT, after a validation for the flowfield in a model reverse flow combustor with previous experimental results. The prediction showed that the flowfield of the primary zone in the Z-flowpath combustor was highly symmetrical, the size and the intensity of the recirculation zone were about 10 and 2 times greater than the normal reverse flow combustor, respectively, while the pressure loss and the total area of the flame tube wall of the Z-flowpath combustor were decreased dramatically to be 69.4% and 51% of that in the reverse flow combustor, respectively.
