Tento text prezentuje politiku ako úsilie o dosiahnutie moci a ako úsilie o dosiahnutie spoločného dobra, a to s implikáciami pre tvorbu práva, pre obsadzovanie verejných funkcií a pre hodnotenie právnych a politických názorov vyslovených vo verejnom priestore. Autor si kladie otázku, či poňatie politiky v druhom z menovaných významov nie je len reliktom klasického politického myslenia, ktorý nemá v súčasnosti žiadne uplatnenie nielen kvôli praktickým ťažkostiam spojeným s hľadaním a presadzovaním spoločného dobra, ale aj kvôli sociálnym štruktúram, v ktorých sa politika odohráva a ktoré nabádajú politických aktérov, aby nakoniec uprednostnili skôr svoje vlastné mocenské záujmy.

Abstract:
Záujem žiakov o prírodovedné predmety celosvetovo klesá a žiaci ako dôvody nezáujmu uvádzajú náročnosť a nedôležitosť daných predmetov pre ich život a budúce povolanie. Cieľom výskumného šetrenia bolo zistiť, aká oblasť z prírodovedných predmetov žiakov zaujíma najviac, a tiež vplyv premenných ako sú gender a vek na záujem o biologické vedy (predpokladali sme, že žiaci prejavia najväčší záujem o biologické vedy). Výskumu sa zúčastnilo 389 žiakov nižšieho sekundárneho vzdelávania vo veku 10–15 rokov. Každý respondent mal na čistý hárok papiera uviesť ľubovoľný počet spontánnych otázok – mal napísať otázky, ktorých odpoveď ho zaujíma. Viac ako 91 % všetkých otázok predstavovali otázky z biológie a nie z fyziky alebo chémie. Väčší záujem o biológiu bol zistený u dievčat. Z oblasti biológie bolo najviac otázok položených v šiestom ročníku a najmenej v piatom ročníku, čo je pravdepodobne spôsobené obsahom kurikula. Tento jav je vysvetlený v záverečnej kapitole článku.

Abstract:
Wine is a specific product with a high level of differentiation according to the attributes on the basis of which consumers decide on its choice. These attributes include taste, price, brand, country of origin or vine variety. At present, ethical consumerism is gaining prominence and consumers are more interested in the impact of their behavior on society and the environment, which is another factor in their wine purchasing decisions. Opportunities for winemakers can also be the use of experiential marketing tools, which allows consumers to directly experience an unconventional brand experience. The aim of the paper is to point out current trends in the wine industry and to present the results of a survey focused on knowledge of wine events. The aim of the survey was also to create a typology of consumers in terms of their attitudes to wine and to identify interest in events organized by wine producers in Slovakia.

Abstract:
Spisovateľ Vilém Hejl (1934–1989) napísal v šesťdesiatych a sedemdesiatych rokoch tri romány (Zásada sporu, Hodina hvězdopravců a Ex offo), ktoré vydal až po svojom odchodu z Československa v roku 1978 do exilu. Vo svojích prózach Hejl opakovane tematizoval úlohu pamäte na utváraní dejín, respektíve citlivo vnímal rozpor medzi pamäťou kolektívnou a individuálnou a z toho plynúcu problematickosť jednotného výkladu histórie. A to najmä v čase, keď by dejiny a pamäť mali slúžiť ako nástroj na presadenie určitého výkladu minulosti, ktorý by vyhovoval záujmom vládnuceho režimu, prípadne jeho odporcom.

Abstract:
The concept of humanitarian interventions has seen increased interest especially since the end of the Cold War. During the last two decades, humanitarian interventions have been at the centre of the emerging doctrine of the responsibility to protect. Through collecting and analysing the United Nations documents and historical experience, this thesis concludes that within contemporary representation of the humanitarian interventions, inaction is not a viable answer to mass violations of human rights. However, as the case of Darfur shows, this renewed commitment towards collective action has not been translated into actions yet. The practice of humanitarian interventions and the role of the United Nations need to be consolidated so that the inconsistency and selectivity objections are eradicated.

The Central Asia region, that once used to be condemned for a period of time, is now a golden target of the world leaders because of its natural resources so essential for the world. This attempt to get the access to important energies could cause worries about The New great game in Central Asia to many people. The aim of this thesis is to compare the power leadership of four world leaders, Russia, China, the USA and the EU, based on their hard and soft power in Central Asia region and to investigate the possible clash of interests of these countries quoting The New great game, Huntington's theory of Clash of civilisations and Brzezinski's Great Chessboard. At the very end of the theses there is an agreement of their interests, which would bring the answer to the negative assumptions and worries about the development of competition of the great powers in Central Asia.

Abstract:
The financial crisis in the USA is due to its great consequences still considered to be current topic. Its causes were discussed and analyzed by many researchers, but mostly from the financial point of view. This thesis takes different approach and identifies the role of the moral hazard in the pre-crisis period. Moral hazard is very often underestimated and for many people uninteresting factor. Therefor, the thesis is divided into four parts, which present the theoretical background of moral hazard and bring up the importance and constant presence of it in today's world. The main part of this work is last chapter, which analyzes moral hazard in the causes of the financial crisis. Moral hazard played key role in the pre-crisis period when it was present at all possible levels deforming the behavior of market players and causing the market failure. The deformation had mostly form of excessive risk-taking, unfavourable financial products and abuse of the information asymmetry. Very specific and dangerous kind of moral hazard is associated with the government interventions such as Greenspan doctrine or Too big to fail policy. It is because of its systematic character, when opposed to the moral hazard in the private sector is not required the presence of information asymmetry.

Abstract:
The English school of international relations claims that the national interests of states and their behaviour in international relations are not only driven by selfish motives, but the so- called enlightened self-interest as well. The functioning of the community of the states is governed by common rules, laws, values and interests. According to the Solidarist current of the English school it is even acceptable to limit the sovereignty of the state which seriously violates international standards such as the protection of human rights. A discrepancy between the protection of the states' sovereignty and the protection of the rights of individuals was bridged by the Responsibility to protect doctrine adopted at the UN World Summit in 2005. This doctrine has served France and other states intervening in Libya as a support of the legality of their cause. However, the doctrine does not address the conditions of the intervention solely. It also delegates a responsibility to rebuild the war-torn countries to the interventionists. Therefore, it is an appropriate tool for the evaluation of the interests and motivations that have shaped the policies and activities of France in Libya. The diploma thesis is devoted to explanation of Czech position towards European monetary integration. Even though Czechia is committed to adopt euro, the official term has not been set. The main purpose of a thesis is to answer why the Czech Republic postponed entrance into to eurozone indefinitely. The first chapter applies materialistic aspects of liberal intergovernmentalist theory into the Czech context by analysing economic interests on micro and macro level. Detailed cost-benefit analysis results in a slight favour of entrance. However, valid economic arguments on both sides and lack of interest group pressure allow government to adopt waiting strategy. Second analytical part incorporates constructivist theory, particularly defines Czech national identity and its effect on public opinion on eurozone. The thesis refuses exclusive character of the Czech identity and its ability to fully explain postponement of euro adoption. Thesis main contribution to international relation research is final chapter, which extends traditional integration theories by perspective of ideology. Ideological prism seems to present the most eloquent explanation of the Czech position, especially dominance of firstly the Eurosceptic ODS and then populist party ANO, as well as conservative stance of CNB. Examining any topic in the Middle East requires a general knowledge because of the region's complexity and dynamics. Important characteristics is the link of Islam and politics, because this relation shaped political establishment of states. The strategic location and rich natural resources of this part of the world were tempting also for the global superpowers whose engagement divided the Middle Eastern states, particularly during the Cold War. An analysis of the factors and events that led to the formation of alliances and rivalries in the Middle East is the goal of this work. Research will focus on alliances of Iran and its Shia allies on the one hand and Saudi Arabia with the rest of Sunni monarchies on the other. Unlike other alliances mentioned in the work, these two blocks have long term character. They are also specific because of sectarian differences, their stance towards the United States and Israel and shared responses to emerging threats. Title of the thesis: New Czech corporate group law - the French Rozenblum concept, the German Konzernrecht or a third approach? This thesis aims to analyse the legal regulation of groups of companies in the Czech Republic after the recodification of private law, set against the backdrop of the French concept Rozenblum and the German model of regulation of groups of companies. The references and comparison with the Italian legal regulation as well as with model company statute European Model Company Act are also made in the corresponding parts of the thesis. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the main characteristics of the two important regulatory models of groups of companies in Europe, namely the German and the French model, and forms a basis for the analysis in the following chapters. The chapter then proceeds to outline the legal framework governing groups of companies in Italy as well as the regulation proposed for groups of companies in European Model Company Act and to describe the development of reflections and approaches of the European Union towards the phenomenon of groups of companies. The Master's Thesis "The Special Relationship, the ESDP and the British National Interest at the Turn of the New Millenium" analyses the relationship of the United Kingdom to both the United States and the European Union during the premiership of Tony Blair. By using critical discourse analysis and applying three criteria within the framework of the procedural concept of national interest, the work seeks to determine whether the creation and further development of the European Security and Defence Policy was in the British national interest and whether it was compatible with the close UK-US relationship. After having examined the British public political discourse of three main political parties on security and defence, this thesis arrives at the conclusion that for Britain it was essential to keep NATO at the centre of its security, to maintain the close relationship with the US and to improve Britain's position in Europe. The core attitudes of the British political elite remained unchanged in the respected period. On the discourse level, the ESDP was in the British national interest as it was presented as an effort to strengthen the European pillar within NATO. Current Legal Issues of Bank Regulation - Resume This thesis paper deals with issues that can be found in relation with bank regulation. At present, globalized world, banks as important financial intermediaries play a major role. Banks are present in our daily lives and whether or not we want to, they facilitate our everyday operations with the money, investment of free monetary resources, and also borrowing of money. We got accustomed to the convenience that the use of various banking services provides. Equally important are the services of banks for businesses enterprises, various investment companies and funds, and also the countries themselves (the governments). Failure of this system, now that so many subjects are dependent on it, could have far-reaching negative consequences. The bank regulation and its instruments serve as a protection against the rise of adverse consequences. With the growing importance of banks in our society, the importance of their regulation grows as well. But even this may not represent perfect protection and bank regulation may conceal other unforeseen problems. This thesis is focused on the transformation of hospitals into joint stock companies from 2010 to the end of 2011. It is primarily aimed at actors, their actions, positions, attitudes and interests in this process. Furthermore, it is concerned with the question of the public vs. private interests in terms of health protection, ensuring the availability and quality of healthcare. The transformation process of hospitals and the position of actors is explained by the combination of economic and public policy theory - neoliberalism, economic globalization, New Public Management and Advocacy Coalition Framework. We explain actions, attitudes and interests of actors in the transformation process of hospitals by using research methods such as an analysis of selected events in health care and research of actors' actions. These research methods are based on different methods of data collecting such as semi-structured and informal interviews, a questionnaire survey and the study of secondary sources. The main aim of this thesis is an analysis of the transformation process of hospitals into joint stock companies in context of selected events in health policy, with a focus on research of actors' actions, attitudes and interests in this process. Vysokoškolská učebnica vo forme elektronickej interaktívnej publikácie je určená vysokoškolským študentom, ktorí majú záujem o interdisciplinárny pohľad na zdaňovanie v kontexte prepojenia základných teoretických poznatkov z oblasti práva a ekonómie týkajúcich sa zdaňovania s akcentom na aplikačnú prax. Obsahom učebnice sú prioritne všeobecné teoretické poznatky z oblasti zdaňovania v zmysle ich historického kreovania a charakteristiky v rozsahu právneho a ekonomického rámca systému zdanenia všeobecne, ako aj v súčasnosti uplatňovaného v Slovenskej republike. Súčasťou učebnice sú aj obrázky a grafy (uvedené v prílohe), ktoré interaktívne dopĺňajú textovú časť a taktiež aj súbor otázok v (kontexte zamerania jednotlivých kapitol), ktorých úlohou je prispieť k naplneniu didaktických cieľov učebnice.

Kapitola Ľubice Voľanskej Organizačná antropológia ako metóda pri výskume nehmotného kultúrneho dedičstva? sa venuje otázke, či je antropológia organizácií viac ako metóda, alebo skôr ide o využitie etnografie v rámci výskumu organizácií, ktorá zažíva boom v posledných rokoch. V organizáciách rovnako existujú skupiny, ktoré si vytvárajú vlastnú kultúru, tá je však podobná kultúram väčšieho celku, ktorého sú súčasťou (v prípade firmy súčasťou firemnej kultúry) a jej význam môže v niektorých situáciách prevažovať nad inými charakteristikami jednotlivých členov či skupín. Aplikovaný prístup sa sústredí na možné riešenia zistených problémov súvisiacich najmä s komunikáciou medzi jednotlivými skupinami. Vo svojej kapitole Voľanská rozoberá rôzne výzvy, ktoré výskum v organizáciách prináša pre bádateľov a bádateľky: okrem vzťahov medzi členmi organizácie samotnými a ich okolím ide aj o ich expertné postavenie v danej oblasti, synchrónnosť udalostí odohrávajúcich sa v organizácii na rôznych miestach a v neposlednom rade aj o vzťahy medzi výskumníkmi či výskumníčkami a ich partnermi a partnerkami vo výskume. Výziev a špecifík je, pochopiteľne, viac, napríklad aj ideologické alebo finančné záujmy organizácií súvisiace s ochranou zdrojov a konkurenciou medzi organizáciami, ktoré musia bádatelia v teréne rovnako rešpektovať. Kapitola sa navyše zamýšľa nad tým, ako výskum organizácie či inštitúcie môže prispieť k diskusii o tradičnej ľudovej kultúre či nehmotnom kultúrnom dedičstve ako predmete etnologického bádania. Chápanie toho, čo patrí a čo nepatrí do oblasti nehmotného kultúrneho dedičstva, je totiž podmienené lokálnymi tradíciami vedeckého i spoločenského nazerania na problematiku a rovnako podlieha vývoju. Svoj výskum preto Voľanská vníma ako príspevok k diskusii o charaktere nazerania na nehmotné kultúrne dedičstvo na Slovensku a k snahe rozšíriť jeho chápanie v súvislosti s moderným obsahom termínu. Vo svojej kapitole totiž, využívajúc prístupy antropológie organizácií, analyzuje Národný žrebčín v Topoľčiankach ako sociálny priestor, v ktorom po niekoľko generácií prebieha medzigeneračná transmisia chovateľských, športových i výcvikových praktík, ale i od chovu neoddeliteľných prvkov agrárnej kultúry. Sociálny priestor žrebčína ponúka zároveň možnosti výskumu verbálnych prejavov, interpretačného umenia, zvykov a rituálov či tradičného remesla.
