This master’s thesis was conducted at the Department of Nanotechnology and Functional Materials at Ångström Laboratory as part of an on-going project to develop hybrid nanocomposites from Cladophora cellulose and a sub-type of metal-organic frameworks; zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs). By utilizing a state-of-the-art interfacial synthesis approach, in-situ growth of ZIF particles on the cellulose could be achieved. In addition, ZIF-8 is composed of zinc and 2-methylimidazole thence it has strong fluorescent properties. Therefore, we used hydrothermal

In the first part, we prepare the nanoparticles for coating on the substrate to act as the nuclei for the secondary growth. The ZIF structures have been characterized by XRD and FTIR. The surface area was determined by N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms and SEM was used to observe the surface morphology and microstructure. The ZIF-8-67 containing both zinc ions (ZIF-8)

ZIF-8, which is constructed in tetrahedral frameworks by zinc ion at center and 2-methylimidazole as linker, was exploiter as stationary phase for capillary gas chromatographic separation of total combustible gases (TCG), including hydrogen (H2), carbon monoxide (CO), methane (CH4), ethane (C2H6), ethylene (C2H4), and acetylene (C2H2), dissolved in power transformer insulating oil. ZIF-8 was uniformly deposited on the inner wall of conventional capillary as porous lay

The higher the concentration of the reactants, the larger was the particle size of ZIF-67, while the smaller particle size of ZIF-67 was obtained when using the lower the concentration of reactants. The ZIF-67 samples with different particle sizes were calcined at 550°C in air atmosphere to obtain the cobalt oxide with rhombic dodecahedron structure. When the calcination temperature exceeded 650°C, the rhombic dodecahedron stru
