Abstract:

El LCM 2016-2017 (Moreno et al., 2017) mostró el déficit en Latinoamérica en el uso de big data para la toma de decisiones basada en issues; una de las grandes transformaciones actuales en relaciones públicas. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar el impacto de la implementación de estrategias de issues management y big data para el nuevo sistema de residuos de Córdoba (Argentina) —“Recuperando Valor”— durante diciembre 2018. Se analizaron más de 10.000 publicaciones en redes sociales mediante un sistema de alertas programadas (QSocial) por temas, actores, impactos y frecuencia a través de distintos modelos analíticos: Imagen de Gestión; Sentimientos; Preocupaciones Ciudadanas, Género, Humor Social y Valoraciones. Las organizaciones no solo comunican estratégicamente: son comunicación estratégica (Grandien y Johansson, 2016). Ello implica una función de dirección y asesoramiento (Zerfass y Franke, 2013) —o función política (Simões, 2001 inspirado en Matrat, 1971)—, atendiendo la opinión pública mediante la gestión de issues (Nothhaft, 2010). En la práctica implica construir, administrar y monitorear en tiempo real el desarrollo e impacto de un conjunto de temas que cobran relevancia en las distintas agendas y por consecuencia en la producción de contenidos y la gestión de relaciones con los distintos públicos en función de sus intereses. Issues and Big Data in Public Relations Management. The Case of the Implementation of the New Garbage System Called “Recuperando Valor” in Córdoba, ArgentinaThe LCM 2016-2017 (Moreno et al., 2017) showed the deficit in the use of big data for making decisions based on issues in Latin America; this is one of the great transformations that we currently envision in public relations. The objective of this research was to analyze the impact of the implementation of Issues Management and big data strategies for the new garbage system in Córdoba (Argentina) —“Recuperando Valor”— during December 2018. More than 10,000 publications on social networks were analyzed through a system of programmed alerts (QSocial) taking into account topics, actors, impact and frequency through different analytical models: measurement of Management Image; Feelings; Citizen Concerns, Gender, Social Humor and Evaluations. Organizations not only communicate strategically: they are indeed strategic communication (Grandien and Johansson, 2016). This requires a management and advisory function (Zerfass and Franke, 2013) —or political function (Simões, 2001 as inspired by Matrat, 1971)—, considering public opinion through issues management (Nothhaft, 2010). Abstract:

Purpose – This paper aims to posit the central argument that traditional media of old presented a clear, ordered world of communication management for organisations to extol their corporate social responsibility (CSR) credentials. In contrast to this, new Web 2.0 social media is increasingly being used by activists and hactivists to challenge corporate communication CSR messages and does so by highlighting instances and examples of corporate social irresponsibility (CSI) (Jones et al., 2009; Tench et al., 2012). Design/methodology/approach – The paper reports on research data from the European Communication Monitor, 2010, 2011 and 2012 (www.communicationmonitor.eu/) and draws on work already published in this area (Tench et al., 2009; Verhoeven et al., 2012; Zerfass et al., 2010, 2011) to illustrate the unruly, unregulated Web 2.0 social media communication landscape in Europe. A range of literature is drawn on to provide the theoretical context for an exploration of issues that surround social media. Findings – In late modernity (Giddens, 1990), communication comes in many guises. Social media is one guise and it has re-shaped as well as transformed the nature of communications and the relationship between organisations and their stakeholders. Originality/value – Communicating CSR in the Wild West of social media requires diplomatic and political nous, as well as awareness and knowledge of the dangers and pitfalls of CSI. The data reported on in this paper well illustrate the above points and set out scenarios for future development of corporate communication of CSR through and with social media.

Abstract:

Purpose – Noting findings by Michaelson and Stacks in the USA and Zerfass and colleagues in Europe that research-based measurement and evaluation (M & E) of public relations and corporate communication are still not widely applied despite more than a century of discussion and intense focus since the 1970s, the purpose of this paper is to explore the causes of this deadlock and presents an alternative approach and model to overcome identified obstacles and provide new insights to advance this important area of theory and practice. Design/methodology/approach – This paper is informed by critical analysis of the large body of literature on M & E, analysis of M & E reports, and ethnographic research among senior management. Findings – This analysis reveals that, along with long-cited barriers such as lack of budget, lack of knowledge and lack of standards, three other obstacles prevent demonstration of the value of PR and corporate communication. Based on critical analysis of literature and M & E reports and ethnography, this paper presents a new approach and model for M & E to help practitioners overcome these obstacles. Research limitations/implications – This analysis and the approach and model presented address an area of concern identified in research globally, such as a 2008 Delphi study by Watson and the European Communication Monitor in 2011 and 2012. The findings provide theoretical and practical contributions to address the deadlock between normative theories of M & E and practical implementation. Originality/value – The approach and M & E model presented make a significant original contribution to theory and practice.

ZusammenfassungUm eine ausreichende Durchgasung im Hochofen zu gewährleisten, müssen feinkörnige Einsatzstoffe mithilfe des Sinterprozesses agglomeriert werden. Mechanische Belastungen an Förderanlagen, Kühlern, Sieben und Bunkern zwischen Sinteranlage und Hochofen führen zum teilweisen Zerfall des Sinters. Der dabei entstandene Feinkornanteil (< 5 mm) muss vor der Beschickung des Hochofens ausgesiebt und als Rückgut unter hohem Energieaufwand, Kosten und entsprechenden CO2-Emissionen erneut der Sinteranlage zugeführt werden. Ziel der aktuellen Forschungsarbeit ist die Bereitstellung eines geeigneten Materialmodells, das es ermöglicht, den Zerfall von Hochofensinter während Transport und Lagerung mittels Diskrete Elemente Methode (DEM) vorherzusagen. Dies ermöglicht kritische Bereiche zu optimieren, um den Zerfall zu reduzieren. Dabei wird zuerst die Bruchcharakteristik des Sinters mittels eines eigens entwickelten Prüfstands für Einzelpartikelversuche analysiert. Mit den Versuchsergebnissen wird anschließend ein geeignetes Materialmodell in die DEM implementiert, welches auch in der institutseigenen Versuchsanlage verifiziert werden soll.

Abstract:

ZusammenfassungDas Ziel dieser Arbeit war es, die Präzision porto-systemischer Shunt-Messun-gen zu bestimmen und jene Faktoren zu quantifizieren, die diese Meßgröße signifikant beeinflussen. Dafür wurden 10 Patienten mit Kopf- und Hals-Karzinomen zunächst nach intraarterieller Applikation von 100 MBq 99mTc-MAA Szintigraphien und anschließend nach fraktionierter intravenöser Applikation von 4 × 10 MBq 99mTc-MAA. Für die Berechnung der Shunt-Volumina wurde der von Wheeler et al. beschriebene Algorithmus benutzt. Zusätzlich wurden für alle Applikationen die relativen Shunt-Volumina berechnet und jeweils für (a) die Port-Retention, (b) die biologische Degradation, (c) den physikalischen Zerfall, (d) Restaktivitäten und (e) die Kombination von (a)-(d) korrigiert. Der mittlere Variationskoeffizient im Gesamtkollektiv betrug 9,4%. Der Einfluß von (a), (b) und (d) war jeweils signifikant, wogegen der physikalische Zerfall keinen signifikanten Einfluß innerhalb der Untersuchungsdauer auf die Meßergebnisse zeigte. Wurden alle Einflußfaktoren vernachlässigt, zeigte sich ebenfalls kein signifikanter Unterschied zu den vollständig korrigierten Meßergebnissen. Somit ist die fraktionierte quantitative Port-Szintigraphie eine einfache und schnelle Technik für die präzise Bestimmung relativer Shunt-Volumina bei Patienten unter lokaler Chemotherapie.

Diese Schadstoffe, wie beispielsweise Viren (die an in der Raumluft schwebende Aerosolpartikel gebunden sind und im Laufe der Zeit inaktiv werden), Bakterien (die sich bei bestimmten Raumtemperaturen und -feuchten mit zunehmender Zeit intensiv vermehren können) oder radioaktive Isotope (die nach bestimmten Gesetzmäßigkeiten zeitabhängig zerfallen) sind derzeit gerade für die Gesundheit in Aufenthaltsräumen bedeutungsvoll.

Kurzfassung: Die internationalen Beziehungen machen derzeit einen fundamentalen Wandel durch, der Ähnlichkeiten mit früheren wechselhaften Perioden der Geschichte aufweist. Oft gingen diese Perioden in Krieg und Instabilität über, wenn es nicht gelang, neue politische Ordnungsmuster zu verankern. Die derzeitige Phase ist gekennzeichnet durch den Zerfall einer unter Bedingungen westlicher Hegemonie gestalteten internationalen Ordnung, die droht in eine Phase der Anarchie überzugehen. Die Ursachen dafür dürften in Folgewirkungen der Globalisierung und anderer Elemente der liberalen Ordnung zu suchen sein, die bislang zu wenig Beachtung fanden.

Ca. 475.000 gedruckte Werke aus den Erscheinungsjahren 1840–1990 ihres Bestandes, die vom Zerfall bedroht sind, werden für eine Sicherungsmaßnahme ausgewählt. Die ZBW digitalisiert diese Publikationen und stellt sie im Open Access zur Verfügung. Die Retrodigitalisate werden digital langzeitarchiviert. Eine Originalerhaltung ist für einen besonders hervorgehobenen Teil dieser Bestände vorgesehen. In diesem Beitrag wird das Konzept vorgestellt und über erste Erfahrungen mit der Retrodigitalisierung berichtet.

ZusammenfassungNachdem ein viertel Jahrhundert lang die Annahme verbreitet war, die Welt strebe dem demokratischen Frieden zu, wähnen heute viele den Rechtspopulismus auf einem nicht zu stoppenden Siegeszug. Dieses lineare Denken rechnet mit dem (Hirn)-Tod der NATO, dem Ende des Westens und dem Zerfall der liberalen internationalen Ordnung. Statt sich dem Fatalismus hinzugeben, sollten die Freunde der Freiheit den Westen neu denken, indem sie die liberale Überdehnung der vergangenen Jahre hinter sich lassen und stattdessen einen bescheidenen und zugleich robusten Liberalismus entwickeln, der die Grundlage einer erneuerten Ordnung bilden kann.

Abstract:

Der Autor skizziert die Allgemeine Verführungstheorie von Laplanche und fragt, wie provozierend deren Annahmen – traumatische Verführung durch den Erwachsenen – für den Leser sind. Dann versucht der Autor, Laplanches Borderline-Modell zu präzisieren, in dessen Zentrum die Verleugnung steht, ein psychotischer Abwehrmechanismus, mit dem sich das Ich vor dem völligen Zerfall schützt: es wehrt die Schamangst durch Verleugnung ab. Dabei bedient es sich der Ichspaltung, der Trennung von Fühlen und Denken. Die transgenerationelle Weitergabe von Traumata folgt diesem Schema: Der Erwachsene leugnet seine Scham und beschämt das Kind Nicht ich bin verunsichert, sondern Du bist falsch. Das Kind muss verleugnen. Bemerkungen zur Therapie beschließen den Beitrag.
