Abstract:
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) divides fracture treatment into three stages. Many TCM herbs and formulas have been used to treat fractures for thousands of years. However, research regarding the Chinese herbal products (CHPs) that should be used at different periods of treatment is still lacking. This study aims to identify the CHPs that should be used at different periods of treatment as well as confirm the TCM theory of fracture periods medicine. We used prescriptions of TCM outpatients with fracture diagnoses analyzed using the Chang Gung Research Database (CGRD) from 2000 to 2015. According to the number of days between the date of the fracture and the clinic visit date, all patients were assigned to one of three groups. Patients with a date gap of 0-13 days were assigned to the early period group; those with a date gap of 14-82 days were assigned to the middle period group; and those with a date gap of 83-182 days were assigned to the late period group. We observed the average number of herbal formulas prescribed by the TCM doctor at each visit was 2.78, and the average number of single herbs prescribed was 6.47. The top three prescriptions in the early fracture period were Zheng-gu-zi-jin-dang, Shu-jing-huo-xue-tang, and Wu-ling-san. In the middle fracture period, the top three formulas were Zheng-gu-zi-jin-dang, Shu-jing-huo-xue-tang, and Zhi-bai-di-huang-wan. In the late fracture period, the top three formulas were Shu-jing-huo-xue-tang, Gui-lu-er-xian-jiao, and Du-huo-ji-sheng-tang. The main single herbs used in the early fracture period were Yan-hu-suo, Gu-sui-bu, and Dan-shen. From the middle to the late period, the most prescribed single herbs were Xu-duan, Gu-sui-bu, and Yan-hu-suo. We concluded that the results showed that the CGRD utilization pattern roughly meets the TCM theory at different fracture periods.

Abstract:
Thi article uses geographical “apparen time” to study historical sound change in “real ime”. The natural process of sound change is used to determine the sequential order of the changes. Based on analysis of kaikou syllables of the zhi rhyme group from 116 Wu dialects, it is clear that the main stratum of these finals is /i/, and later developments of /i/ all take the form of lowering the F2 value of the vowel. It is shown that the process of apicalization is found in syllables with MC jing, zhuang, zhi, zhang, and jian initial groups. According to the pronunciation of these syllables, the Wu dialects can be divided into seven sub-types. This article also discusses other related phonological phenomena, such as the pronunciation of the zhi 支 rhyme, the merger with division II syllables, and the changes caused by euphemism.

Abstract:
Underwater acoustic signature identification has been employed as a technique for detecting underwater vehicles, such as in anti-submarine warfare or harbour security systems. The underwater sound channel, however, has interference due to spatial variations in topography or sea state conditions and temporal variations in water column properties, which cause multipath and scattering in acoustic propagation. Thus, acoustic data quality control can be very challenging. One of challenges for an identification system is how to recognise the same target signature from measurements under different temporal and spatial settings. This paper deals with the above challenges by establishing an identification system composed of feature extraction, classification algorithms, and feature selection with two approaches to recognise the target signature of underwater radiated noise from a research vessel, Ocean Researcher III, with a bottom mounted hydrophone in five cruises in 2016 and 2017. The fundamental frequency and its power spectral density are known as significant features for classification. In feature extraction, we extract the features before deciding which is more significant from the two aforementioned features. The first approach utilises Polynomial Regression (PR) classifiers and feature selection by Taguchi method and analysis of variance under a different combination of factors and levels. The second approach utilises Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) selecting the optimised parameters of classifier via genetic algorithm. The real-time classifier of PR model is robust and superior to the RBFNN model in this paper. This suggests that the Automatic Identification System for Vehicles using Acoustic Signature developed here can be carried out by utilising harmonic frequency features extracted from unmasking the frequency bandwidth for ship noises and proves that feature extraction is appropriate for our targets.

Method: Single-center, phase 1/2 clinical trial (NCT02735291). A total of 1-5×107/kg CD19-CD137-ζ CAR T cells manufactured by lentiviral transfection were infused to treating r/r B-ALL. Before infusion, individualized chemotherapy was given based on the tumor burden and bone marrow hyperplasity, then monitoring temperature, blood pressure etc., so as to determine and handle adverse reactions. CR, EFS, OS and their possible influencing factors were analyzed by SPSS10.01 software. Results: 1) Patients: A total of 40 patients with r/r B-ALL were enrolled, 22 males and 18 females, aged from 2 to 72. Among them, 32 patients were followed at least 2 months post infusion of CAR T-cell; 4 have not reached the minimum time requirement for efficacy assessment; 4 did not have cells infused. In the 32 patients evaluated for efficacy assessment, 2 had primary refractory B-ALL, 30 with relapsed and refractory B-ALL; 7(21.9%) previously received alloHSCT and 2 of them using blinatumomab failed; 23(71.9%) had cytogenetic aberrations relating poor prognosis; 11(34.4%) had extramedullary disease (EMD). 2) Efficacy: Up to the day cutoff, 32 patients who received a Sino19 cell infusion and had at least 2 months of follow up, the total CR rate with or without hematologic recovery was 78.1% (95% CI, 63 to 93), the rates of OS in all who had the infusion of Sino19 cells were 74% (95% CI, 57 to 91) at 6 months and 40% (95% CI, 20 to 60) at 12 months, the median of OS was not reached. Among the 25 patients with CR, 4 patients underwent allogeneic hemtologic stem-cell transplantation (alloHSCT) and alive with no relapse at the cutoff time. The rest of 21 patients had 9.6 months (2.2 to 27.4) of median following-up duration, 5 of them had relapse-free survival for more than 15 months and the longest lasted for 22 months. Except 4 who underwent alloHSCT, the rates of EFS for the other 28 patients were 66% (95% CI, 48 to 84) at 6 months and 32% (95% CI, 14 to 50) at 12 months. 3) Adverse reactions: 91% (29/32) of the patients had fever after CAR T infused. According to the NCI-CTCAE v4.03, 21.9% (7/32) had grade≥3 CRS, 6 reversed with glucocorticoid alone or plus tocilizumab and supportive care, 1 died of disease progression at the same time of CRS. Only 2 patients had transient absent-mindedness or deliration. 4) Factors influencing efficacy: ⅰ) EMD, Patients with EMD showed lower CR (54.5% vs. 90.5%, p=0.032), higher relapse (100% vs. 40%, p=0.019) and shorter OS (P=0.025) and EFS (P<0.001), compare with those without EMD; ⅱ) CAR T-cells in-vivo proliferation, CR rate in patients with no proliferation significantly lower than those with expanding (50% vs. 100%; p=0.021). OS and EFS were also significantly different. ⅲ) Regulatory T cells (Tregs), patients with higher Tregs (more than ULN) had more relapse than that with lower or normal Tregs (91% vs. 11%; p=0.001), the OS and EFS also was obviously poor. ⅳ) Cytogenetic, 4 patients with T315I mutation got CR, but 3 relapsed and all died within 6 months, other 1 undergone alloHSCT. ⅴ) CAR T-cells in vivo detected more than 6 months post-infusion, but its persistence do not show relationship to relapse and OS. C onclusion: The Sino19 cell lead to high CR rates in r/r B-ALL, with good safety profile. Some patients can achieve continuous complete remission. EMD, no in-vivo proliferation, higher Tregs and Ph+ with T315I mutation may hinder the efficacy. This is the first clinical report on the relationship between Tregs and CAR T efficacy. Disclosures No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Abstract:
The alkali volcanics and intrusive rocks, dated at around 35-33Ma, are cut by mineralised northeast and east trending faults showing predominant evidence for strike-slip. Mineralisation includes haematite-Au-Cu and is accompanied by iron-rich alteration of the volcanic rocks. Detailed assessment of the geometry of the fault system at Pu Sam Cap suggests that the faults formed as a Riedel shear system during left-lateral slip within the Song Hong-Song Chay shear zone and the numerous contemporaneous northwest trending faults to the south; the northeast trending faults are interpreted as dextral “book-end’’ faults between major northwest trending faults enclosing the Pu Sam Cap massif. As mineralisation is hosted within these faults and is also associated with lamprohyric dykes it confirms a thermal event younger than the alkaline volcanics and syenitic intrusives at Pu Sam Cap, suggesting a hidden, young porphyry system. The age of faulting, and thus the maximum age for this young intrusive event, is attributed to the 23-21Ma period of late-stage left-lateral strike-slip motion across northwest Vietnam.ReferencesAnczkiewicz R., Viola G., Muntener O., Thrirlwall M., Quong N.Q., 2007. Abstract:

Abstract:
Graphene-based composites have received a great deal of attention in recent year because the presence of graphene can enhance the conductivity, strength of bulk materials and help create composites with superior qualities. Moreover, the incorporation of metal oxide nanoparticles such as Fe3O4 can improve the catalytic efficiency of composite material. In this work, we have synthesized a composite material with the combination of reduced graphene oxide (rGO), and Fe3O4 modified tissue-paper (mGO-PP) via a simple hydrothermal method, which improved the removal efficiency of the of methylene blue (MB) in water. MB blue is used as the model of contaminant to evaluate the catalytic efficiency of synthesized material by using a Fenton-like reaction. The obtained materials were characterized by SEM, XRD. The removal of materials with methylene blue is investigated by UV-VIS spectroscopy, and the result shows that mGO-PP composite is the potential composite for the color removed which has the removal efficiency reaching 65% in acetate buffer pH = 3 with the optimal time is 7 h.
Keywords
Graphene-based composite, methylene blue, Fenton-like reaction.

Abstract:
碩士
國立中山大學
中國文學系研究所
101
The essay takes “Sheng Wu Ji” and “Hai Guo Tu Zhi” which Wei Yuan published after the Opium War as the major text to analyze; besides, other relative text such as “Yi Sao Ri Kou Ji” and “Mo Gu” also are the reference material. The essay will discuss the purpose and content which Wei Yuan constructed western ideology and performed through Chinese ideology. The predecessors who researched on Wei Yuan mostly regarded “learning advantages of the Western” which he advocated as the performance of moving towards modernization; they thought of Wei Yuan as a great man who made a breakthrough. By studying “Sheng Wu Ji” and “Hai Guo Tu Zhi” carefully, the essay concludes that Wei Yuan’s purpose to construct western ideology is to resist Western invasion and to find ways to make the country wealthy and the military powerful. The Western invasion ignited Chinese to defend Sinocentrism. In terms of Chinese Ideology, Wei Yuan developed the classic further, “Spring and Autumn Annals” especially. It played the role to explain the times and connect Chinese and Western ideology. The statecraft thought transformed traditional sense of urgency into actions, and it totally appeared in the process of construction of Chinese and Western ideology. Wei Yuan started from introspection of the times and advocated strategies of statecraft. He believed only keeping stable domestic affairs can the Chinese court system revives. According to the purpose and process which Wei Yuan construct Chinese and Western ideology, it not only proved the value of moving towards modernization but also included a traditional Chinese scholar’s superiority complex towards Sino Culture-Specific. He expected to base on interpretation of classics, figuring out the strategies which made the country wealthy, the military powerful and the world peaceful.

Abstract:
碩士
中國醫藥大學
中國藥學研究所
96
The current edition of the Taiwanese Herbal Pharmacopoeia contains more than two hundred species of Chinese medicine. However, when compared with the 2005 edition of PRC (People''s Republic of China) Pharmacopoeia and 14th edition of Japanese Pharmacopoeia, the Taiwanese Herbal Pharmacopoeia dwarfs in coverage and is in need of supplement in the revised edition. The establishment of stipulation around the chemistry specification and index composition analyses, therefore has become a critical concern. During the experiment, we selected 40 commonly used items based on two conditions: 1) items that are recorded in PRC Pharmacopeia but not in Taiwan Herbal Pharmacopeia; and 2) deletings items that are rarely or never used in Taiwan. For each of the 40 herbs, twenty specimen were collected or purchased around Taiwan and performed with five tests, and analzyed. The five tests include: 1) desiccation ; 2) total ash; 3) acid-insoluble ash; 4) diluted ethanol-soluble extraction; and 5) water-insoluble extraction. In addition, we performed HPLC analysis on the following herbs: Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, Scrophulariae Radix, Rehmanniae Radix, Forsythiae Fructus and Polygoni Multiflori Radix. We leveraged not only from data derived from this experiment, but also compared with other foreign Pharmacopoeia, we also diccussed with representetives from Bureau of Food and Durg Analysis, Department of Health, and staffs from major GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Pharmaceutical manufacturers in Taiwan to ensure the feasibility of the specifications. The outcome of the discussion will be consolidated into stipulation proposal for revising the new edition of the Taiwan Herbal Pharmacopeia.

Abstract:
Paul J. Chirik at Princeton University reported (Science 2012, 335, 567) an iron catalyst that hydrosilylates alkenes with anti-Markovnikov selectivity, as in the conversion of 1 to 2. A regioselective hydrocarbamoylation of terminal alkenes was developed (Chem. Lett. 2012, 41, 298) by Yoshiaki Nakao at Kyoto University and Tamejiro Hiyama at Chuo University, which allowed for the chemoselective conversion of diene 3 to amide 4. Gojko Lalic at the University of Washington reported (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2012, 134, 6571) the conversion of terminal alkenes to tertiary amines, such as 5 to 6, with anti-Markovnikov selectivity by a sequence of hydroboration and copper-catalyzed amination. Related products such as 8 were prepared (Org. Lett. 2012, 14, 102) by Wenjun Wu at Northwest A&F University and Xumu Zhang at Rutgers via an isomerization-hydroaminomethylation of internal olefin 7. Seunghoon Shin at Hanyang University (experimental work) and Zhi-Xiang Yu at Peking University (computational work) reported (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2012, 134, 208) that 9 could be directly converted to bicyclic lactone 11 with propiolic acid 10 using gold catalysis. A nickel/Lewis acid multicatalytic system was found (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2012, 51, 5679) by the team of Professors Nakao and Hiyama to effect the addition of pyridones to alkenes, such as in the conversion of 12 to 13. Radical-based functionalization of alkenes using photoredox catalysis was developed (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2012, 134, 8875) by Corey R.J. Stephenson at Boston University, an example of which was the addition of bromodiethyl malonate across alkene 14 to furnish 15. Samir Z. Zard at Ecole Polytechnique reported (Org. Lett. 2012, 14, 1020) that the reaction of xanthate 17 with terminal alkene 16 led to the product 18. The radical-based addition of nucleophiles including azide to alkenes with Markovnikov selectivity (cf. 19 to 20) was reported (Org. Lett. 2012, 14, 1428) by Dale L. Boger at Scripps La Jolla using an Fe(III)/NaBH4-based system. A remarkably efficient and selective catalyst 22 was found (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2012, 134, 10357) by Douglas B. Grotjahn at San Diego State University for the single position isomerization of alkenes, which effected the transformation of 21 to 23 in only half an hour.
