Abstract:
Zhu Xi proposes that Geyi Buddhism plagiarized Laozi’s words and ideas. He suggests that the representative figure of Geyi Buddhism, Sengzhao’s idea of ‘seeking jing from dong’ and ‘dong is no different from jing’; Su Shi’s claim that ‘it goes like this, but it has never gone.’; Hu Hong’s thesis of ‘nature being ti(體) and heart-mind being yong(用)’; as well as Zhang Shi’s thought of ‘seeing jing in dong’ are ideas of ‘Dong Zhong Jing’ after all. Zhu Xi’s such interpretation indicates that there is some connection in terms of philosophical thoughts between Laozi, Sengzhao, Su Shi and Huxiang School. By criticizing Geyi Buddhism, Zhu Xi actually aims at targeting his opponents, i.e., Su Shi and Huxiang School’s theoretical problems. In this way, Zhu Xi does not really understand Geyi Buddhism from a narrow point of view as argued by most previous researches. Instead, he intentionally focuses only on a specific part of Geyi Buddhism in order to direct his criticism at Su Shi and Huxiang School effectively.

Utilizando el método de clasificación de problemas matemáticos en los libros de texto (Fan y Zhu, 2000) y el de estrategias empleadas en la solución de un problema (Fan y Zhu, 2007), este artículo reporta los resultados del análisis y clasificación del tipo de problemas matemáticos y estrategias de solución en una muestra conformada por los cinco libros de texto de matemáticas de primer grado de secundaria con mayor distribución en el ciclo escolar 2013-2014 en México. Se concluye que los libros de texto se enfocan en ofrecer un amplio compendio de problemas que, en su mayoría, no admiten el uso de diferentes estrategias para su solución, mientras otros se resuelven aplicando cierto algoritmo o procedimiento directo.

Abstract:
A new gall wasp species, Dryocosmus liui Pang, Su et Zhu n. sp., is described from Hunan Province, China. The new species forms integral galls on branches of Castanopsis tibetana Hance. The results of morphological comparison, pair-wise genetic distance of mtDNA COI, and phylogenetic analysis based on COI gene sequences did not support treating Chilaspis and Dryocosmus as separate genera. Our results also provided new evidence supporting the notion that the Nearctic Dryocosmus species may represent a lineage distinct from the Old World species of the genus.

Straipsnyje pateikiamas originalus metodas poprocesoriniam aukštesnės tikslumo klasės sprendiniui gauti. Šis būdas paremtas superkonvergavimo pradinio baigtinių elementų sprendinio savybėmis. Įrodyta, kad kiekviename elemente egzistuoja taškai, kuriuose baigtinių elementų sprendinys turi didesnį konvergavimo greitį palyginti su globaliu visai diskrečiajai erdvei įrodomu konvergavimo greičiu. Šie taškai vadinami superkonvergavimo baigtinių elementų sprendinio taškais. Poslinkių lauko superkonvergavimo taškai sutampa su baigtinių elementų mazgo taškais. “Superkonvergavimo lopinio atstatymo” būdas originaliai buvo panaudotas aukštesnės tikslumo klasės gradientų laukų (įtempčių, deformacijų) radimui. Šiame darbe pateikta šio “superkonvergavimo lopinio atstatymo” būdo versija, pritaikyta tiesioginiams aproksi-macijos kintamiesiams (poslinkiams). Pagrindinę pasiūlyto metodo idėją sudaro atstatyto poslinkių lauko interpoliavimas naudojant superkonvergavimo poslinkių reikšmes mažiausių kvadratų būdu. Su gautu poprocesoriniu sprendiniu gali būti įvertinta tikroji baigtinių elementų sprendinio paklaida bei jos pasiskirstymas tyrinėjamoje konstrukcijoje. Skaitiniai eksperimentai atlikti naudojant tiesinius keturkampius ir trikampius baigtinius elementus. Atlikus skaitinių rezultatų analizę, galima padaryti šias išvadas: Poprocesorinio sprendinio paklaidos, išreikštos energine norma, konvergavimo greitis yra viena eile aukštesnis nei pradinio baigtinių elementų sprendinio. Poprocesorinio sprendinio, gauto pasiūlytu metodu, paklaidos yra mažesnės už paklaidas, gautas viena iš populiariausių procedūrų, sukurta Zienkiewicziaus ir Zhu.

El presente trabajo es la primera parte de un estudio cualitativo cuyo objetivo es analizar cómo se abordan algunos aspectos de la resolución de problemas en documentos de diseminación del currículo chileno. Éste se eligió por su alto nivel prescriptivo (Oliva, 2017), pero que sin embargo se encuentra en el tercil más bajo de los resultados PISA (Piñeiro, Castro-Rodríguez, y Castro, 2016). Nos preguntamos, ¿qué rol juega la resolución de problemas en estos documentos? El marco teórico considera la definición de problemas del NCTM (2003), las concepciones sobre su uso en el aula de Schroeder & Lester (1989), la clasificación de tipos de problemas propuesta por Zhu & Fan (2006) y los aportes sobre la resolución de problemas en el currículo de Stacey (2005), Leong et al. (2016) y Piñeiro et al. (2016). Como resultado de esta primera parte se ha elaborado un sistema de categorías para realizar el análisis.

Much attention has been focused on the recrudescence of Chinese nationalism in the 1990s. The PRC government generally denies, but occasionally defends, the existence of nationalism within China (Xi 1996). Many Chinese scholars acknowledge the phenomenon and debate its impact, with most evincing a positive attitude toward nationalism (Zhang Xudong 1997; Xiao 1997; Sheng 1996; Wen 1996; Li 1995). Outside the PRC, Chinese nationalism is increasingly scrutinized (Zhao 1997; Zhu 1997, Gries 1999). Some hold that it is rational and manageable (Nathan and Ross 1997; Metzger and Myers 1998; Zheng 1999), while others speak in more premonitory tones (Chang 1998; Su 1997; Mosher 2000). All conclude that it is statesponsored, popular, and fills an “ideological vacuum” left by the waning of socialism (see, for example, Oksenberg 1997; Christensen 1996).

In China, rock art is spread mainly in the border regions – carvings and engravings in the north of the country and paintings in the south. Before the beginning of the 21st century, research books and albums of petroglyphs were published in four administrative units at provincial level in the north-west of the county: Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Xinjiang and Qinghai. Petroglyphs of Inner Mongolia were studied and published by Gai Shanlin, Liang Zhenhua and N. Dalengurib. The earliest and the latest books by Gai Shanlin available to us (published in 1985 and 2002 respectively) were entirely devoted to the interpretation of rock carvings and searches for their analogies. All four monographs on Ningxia rock art – by Zhou Xinghua, Li Xiangshi and Zhu Cunshi, Xu Cheng and Wei Zhong were published almost simultaneously, at the beginning of the 1990s. Ancient rock art of Xinjiang was published in albums by Zhao Yangfeng, Wang Linshan and Wang Bo and in books by Wang Binghua and Su Beihai. The monograph by Tang Huisheng and Zhang Wenhua was devoted to the description of Qinghai petroglyphs and the problems of their interpretation. The album of photos “The Rock Arts of China” is a kind of a guide to the main rock art sites known by 1993 in all the Chinese provinces. Generally, it can be stated that modern Chinese scientific rock art research was born in the first half of the 1980s, when the first articles on rock carvings started to appear in Chinese archaeological periodicals and flourished in the second half of the 1980s and the 1990s, when quite a number of monographs were published.

Abstract:
4591 Background: Sunitinib (SU) is a multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor with antitumor and antiangiogenetic activity. Evidence for clinical activity in HCC was reported in 2 phase II trials [Zhu et al and Faivre et al, ASCO 2007] using either a 37.5 or a 50 mg daily dose in a 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off regimen. The objective of this trial was to demonstrate antitumor activity of continuous SU treatment in patients (pts) with HCC. Methods: Key eligibility criteria included unresectable or metastatic HCC, no prior systemic anticancer treatment, measurable disease and Child-Pugh A or B liver dysfunction. Pts received 37.5 mg SU daily until progression or unacceptable toxicity. The primary endpoint was progression free survival at 12 weeks (PFS12) defined as ‘success’ if the patient was alive and without tumor progression assessed by 12 weeks (± 7 days) after registration. A PFS12 of ≤ 20% was considered uninteresting and promising if ≥ 40%. Using the Simon-two minimax stage design with 90% power and 5% significance the sample size was 45 pts. Secondary endpoints included safety assessments, measurement of serum cobalamin levels and tumor density. Results: From September 2007 to August 2008 45 pts, mostly male (87%), were enrolled in 10 centers. Median age was 63 years, 89% had Child-Pugh A and 47% had distant metastases. Median largest lesion diameter was 84 mm (range: 18 - 280) and 18% had prior TACE. Reasons for stopping therapy were: PD 60%, symptomatic deterioration 16%, toxicity 11%, death 2% (due to tumor), and other reasons 4%; 7% remain on therapy. PFS12 was rated as success in 15 pts (33%) (95% CI: 20%, 49%) and failure in 27 (60%); 3 were not evaluable (due to refusal). Over the whole trial period 1 CR and 40% SD as best response were achieved. Median PFS, duration of disease stabilization, TTP and OS were 2.8, 3.2, 2.8 and 9.3 months, respectively. Grade 3 and 4 adverse events were infrequent and all deaths due to the tumor. Conclusions: Continuous SU treatment with 37.5 mg/d daily is feasible and demonstrates moderate activity in pts with advanced HCC and mild to moderately impaired liver dysfunction. Under this trial design the therapy is considered promising (> 13 PFS12 successes). No significant financial relationships to disclose.

AbstractThe aim of this paper is to develop analytic techniques to deal with the monotonicity of certain combinatorial sequences. On the one hand, a criterion for the monotonicity of the function is given, which is a continuous analogue of a result of Wang and Zhu. On the other hand, the log-behaviour of the functionsis considered, where ζ(x) and Γ(x) are the Riemann zeta function and the Euler Gamma function, respectively. Consequently, the strict log-concavities of the function θ(x) (a conjecture of Chen et al.) and for some combinatorial sequences (including the Bernoulli numbers, the tangent numbers, the Catalan numbers, the Fuss–Catalan numbers, and the binomial coefficients are demonstrated. In particular, this contains some results of Chen et al., and Luca and Stănică. Finally, by researching the logarithmically complete monotonicity of some functions, the infinite log-monotonicity of the sequenceis proved. This generalizes two results of Chen et al. that both the Catalan numbers and the central binomial coefficients are infinitely log-monotonic, and strengthens one result of Su and Wang that is log-convex in n for positive integers d > δ. In addition, the asymptotically infinite log-monotonicity of derangement numbers is showed. In order to research the stronger properties of the above functions θ(x) and F(x), the logarithmically complete monotonicity of functionsis also obtained, which generalizes the results of Lee and Tepedelenlioǧlu, and Qi and Li.

Abstract:
Background:Conventional observational studies have identified serum urate (SU) as an independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs),1,2but the causal relationships remain unsettled, with potential confounding and reverse causality. When applied correctly, Mendelian randomization (MR) employing genetic variants as instrumental variables can eliminate these biases and allow for causal inference.Objectives:To conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of English-language, peer-reviewed MR studies on the causal effects of SU on CVDs and assess validation of key MR assumptions.Methods:A research librarian conducted a search (inception to January 2020) of four databases (Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science), which was supplemented by hand-search. Titles and abstracts were screened by two independent reviewers, who subsequently evaluated and extracted data from full-text of selected articles. Pooled meta-analysis was performed using random-effects weighting.Results:Of 1014 articles identified, 40 were selected for full-text review and 13 studies reporting on CVDs were included in the systematic review (Figure 1). The first was published in 2009 and five were published in 2018 or 2019 alone. The included studies were of varying quality in regards to satisfying the assumptions for MR design.Fig. 1: PRISMA flow diagram.Overall, there was little evidence for a causal association between SU and risk of CVDs (Table 1). Random-effects meta-analysis revealed that SU was not significantly associated with risk of CVDs (OR=1.04; 95% CI=0.99-1.09) (Figure 2). 11 of the 13 studies reported null estimates for the effects of genetically-determined SU levels on CVDs. Two studies with small numbers of cases (N=125 and 222) reported significant associations, but these pertained to highly-specific subgroups.Table 1.Summary of included studies. The professional training of specialists in multimedia design in higher educational establishments of the People's Republic of China is considered. The results of the analysis of scientific and methodological literature on the research problem indicate that its various aspects were reflected in the scientific works of scientists who considered the professional skills of future design professionals at the level of higher education (E. Antonovich, Liu Guilin, Liu Chunilin, Schi Chanfa, Yu Zuguan, A. Antipovsky, N. Borevskaya, L. Kalashnik, Liu Donmin, V. Danilenko, M. Opalev, N. Pazura, Su Xiaohuan, N. Franchuk, Zhu Mutsu, Jia Yachen, M. Yakovlev, etc.). At the same time, the problem of professional development of specialists in multimedia design is not sufficiently researched. The psychological and pedagogical peculiarities and organizational and pedagogical conditions of the development of professional training of specialists in multimedia design in higher educational institutions of the artistic profile of the People's Republic of China are theoretically proven. The systematization, comprehension and generalization of the research results are carried out; the features and general tendencies of the modern media industry and its influence on the development of professional training of specialists in multimedia design in higher educational institutions are established; the characteristics of the media environment are outlined, the content and structure of multimedia activities are substantiated, its classification is identified. The essence of the basic concepts of research (professional training, multimedia design, media design) has been specified. The expediency of the main educational blocks, which provide activation of creative possibilities and professional training of specialists in multimedia design in higher educational institutions, is determined; the essence of their constituents is revealed; the theoretical conclusions are specified, the prospects for studying the problem in question are specified.

The “Jinhou Su bianzhong” is one of the most important archaeological discoveries in recent decades. The long inscription of 355 characters provides important information concerning various aspects of late Western Zhou history. This article begins with a preliminary account of the Jinhou Su bells, including an annotated translation of the inscription. Next, studying the identification of the Zhou king in the inscription that has already prompted lively discussions, the author shows that more concrete evidence supports a King Li dating of the inscription. Based on the relationship between Zhou and Jin documented in the “Jinhou Su bianzhong” inscription, the author finally argues that the state of Jin was becoming powerful with the decline of the Zhou king's authority in the late Western Zhou period.

Abstract Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in controlling regulatory networks critical for gene expression, cellular growth, and development. Altered expression of lncRNAs are associated with tumor progression in multiple types of human cancers, but the mechanisms by which lncRNAs may control growth and proliferation in cancer cells remain unknown in most cases. Development of interventions targeting non-coding RNA regulation of cell growth would open new avenues for cancer treatment. To identify growth regulatory pathways controlled by non-coding RNAs, we used proteomics and genomics tools to study the effect of changes in lncRNA expression levels in human cancer cell lines. First, we identified five growth regulator lncRNAs based on data mining of CRISPR/Cas9 screens and high throughput sequencing studies from patient tumor and normal cells. These lncRNAs have been associated with progression and metastasis in breast, lung and colon cancers. We hypothesized that growth regulator lncRNAs play a role in cancer development by recruiting effector proteins to regulate gene expression. Next, we evaluated the cellular growth phenotype for each lncRNA in overexpression and knockdown strains using multiple established cancer cell lines. We analyzed cellular transcriptome changes after lncRNA perturbation using high-throughput RNA sequencing. Finally, RNA-protein interactions for each growth regulator lncRNA were identified using an RNA hybridization capture method paired with mass spectrometry that enables purification of direct and specific endogenous RNA-binding proteins. Using this combination of transcriptomics and proteomics data, we discovered that perturbation of growth regulator lncRNAs results in dysregulation of growth signaling pathways and increased expression of p53. We are currently identifying the sequence and structure determinants of RNA-protein complex formation to uncover the mechanisms of action of lncRNAs in controlling cancer cell growth. In this work, a compact, stable dual-wavelength Q-switched laser with a multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) slurry as saturable absorber (SA) which is independent of any host polymer has been demonstrated. The MWCNTs slurry is fabricated and the peak shift is investigated using Raman spectroscopy.The passively Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) oscillated simultaneously at 1532.32 nm and 1556.97 nm with 24.67 nm peak separation, at threshold and maximum input power of 26mW and 74mW respectively.By increasing the input pump power from 36 mW to 74 mW, the pulse train repetition rate increases from 25 kHz to 78 kHz, while the pulse width is reduced from 17.84 us to 5.24 ?s. The generated pulse produced maximum pulse energy and maximum peak power of 11.97 nJ and 2.05 mW, respectively at maximum input pump power. The recorded signal to noise ratio is about 62 dB and shows that the proposed MWCNTs slurry based SAis able to generate dual wavelength Q-switched pulse laser with high stability pulse. Climate change has stimulated great interest in developing clean and renewable energy conversion and storage solutions. Emerging technologies for solutions, like unitized regenerative fuel cells, metal-air batteries, and water electrolyzers, depend on the reliable catalyst materials suited for long-term application in alkaline environments[1]. In particular, the demanding reaction in these systems is the oxygen evolution reaction involving complex multielectron/proton transfer processes and thus sluggish kinetic.[2] At present, the state-of-the-art OER catalysts are IrO2 and RuO2. However, the high cost and scarcity of these materials severely prevent the wide-scale application of these systems.[3] Perovskite oxide (e.g., single perovskite expressed as ABO3) electrocatalysts are particularly considered next-generation OER catalysts due to their adjustable physicochemical properties and, as a consequence, their catalytic properties by substitution of ions in the A and B sites.[4] Via doping both at A and B site, double perovskite oxides structure can form (AA′B2O5+δ), which were shown to have stable structure during the OER due to proper O p-band center position relative to the Fermi level. The previous research shows that hexagonal perovskites exhibit enhanced catalytic activity rather than cubic or tetragonal perovskites, which is associated with the face-sharing octahedral unit. [5,6] In this work, we systematically investigate doping of parent La2CoMnO6 with Ba to tune the crystal structure and electronic structure. A series of the double perovskites with the chemical formula of La2-xBaxCoMnO6 (x = 0, 0.5, 1.5, 2) were fabricated via the modified Sol-Gel Pechini method. According to Goldschmidt tolerance factor, it is expected that when Ba amount increases in the A site, the crystal structure changes from cubic to hexagonal, which can contribute to electrocatalytic OER activity based above discussions. Furthermore, it is anticipated that increasing Ba content at the A site should result in higher valence state of transition metals due to stabilizing charge balance of the structure. It is widely reported that presence of higher valence state of transition metals is beneficial for OER. The crystal structure was confirmed by combining powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) patterns. The two-layer hexagonal structure of Ba2CoMnO6 (BCM) was further characterized by high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM). The results show doping of Ba into parent La2CoMnO6 resulted in the hexagonal phase formation and BCM achieves a current density of 10 mA cm–2 at a low overpotential of 288 mV and has the highest intrinsic activity in the series of BaxLa2-xCoMnO6 (x = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2). Furthermore, BCM exhibits outstanding stability of 12 h in a 0.1 M KOH electrolyte. The electronic structure and surface work function values of the catalysts were examined with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). XPS analysis revealed that valence state of Co and Mn increases through Ba amount in the structure, indicating the double perovskite oxide charge balance is maintained. In addition to valence state analysis, we performed work function analysis of the catalysts tested in this work. The result shows work function of the series of BaxLa2-xCoMnO6 (x = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2) substantially decreases with Ba content. Here, we show that the high intrinsic activity of BCM is not only related with the hexagonal structure and also may be related with exhibiting lower work function value in the series. Šiame straipsnyje išaiškinamas intuicijos sumoralinimas kiniškame kontekste bei keliamas klausimas apie zhijue sąvokos susiformavimą. Abstract Introduction: BCL2 family protein dysfunction is an important mediator of chemoresistance in lymphoid malignancies. Venetoclax (VEN), a BH3 mimetic that selectively targets the anti-apoptotic protein BCL2, is FDA approved for treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), with clinical trials underway for other lymphoid malignancies. Despite the clinical efficacy of VEN monotherapy, complete remission and progression free rates are still relatively low, thereby indicating the existence of inherent or acquired mechanisms of resistance. Preclinically, increases in anti-apoptotic BCL2 and MCL1 phosphorylation (BCL2-P/MCL1-P) and MCL1 protein level have been implicated in chemoresistance. We therefore question if phosphorylation of these proteins may drive VEN resistance and if removing this modification may re-sensitize resistant cells to VEN induced cell death. Methodology: BH3 profiling (a functional assay that assesses mitochondrial apoptotic priming and anti-apoptotic protein dependence), western blot and cell death assays were performed. Result: We report that VEN acquired resistant DLBCL cell line (OCI-Ly1R) has increased BCL2-P, MCL1-P and MCL1 protein levels as compared to sensitive parental cell line (OCI-Ly1S), while inherently resistant DHL cell line (Su-DHL4) possesses higher MCL1-P and MCL1 protein levels as compared to OCI-Ly1S. We further show that this increase in phosphorylation status contributes to the induction of VEN resistance. Using BH3 profiling, we demonstrate that anti-apoptotic protein phosphorylation-driven VEN resistance involves a change in sensitivity to pro-apoptotic proteins, with an increase in sensitivity to MCL1 inhibition and reciprocal decrease in sensitivity to BCL2 inhibition. We further show that BCL2 and MCL1 dephosphorylation by PP2A activating drugs (PADs) re-sensitizes resistant cells to VEN treatment. Mechanistically, PADs such as the fingolimod (FTY720) not only dephosphorylate BCL2-P and MCL1-P, but also dissociate BAX from BCL2 and destabilize MCL1 protein. These changes lead to the rewiring of cellular sensitivity to BCL2 inhibition, thereby re-sensitizing both VEN acquired and inherent resistant cells to VEN induced cell death. Importantly, the PP2A activating effects of FTY720 were recapitulated in primary cells from the peripheral blood of 16 CLL patients, where FTY720 treatment also reduced BCL2-P, MCL1-P and MCL1 protein levels and dissociated BAX from BCL2. This led to an increased sensitivity to BCL2 inhibition and enhanced cell death upon combined treatment with FTY720 and VEN. Conclusion: Our work defines a new targetable mechanism of VEN resistance in lymphoid malignancies due to the phosphorylation of anti-apoptotic BCL2 family proteins. PADs re-sensitize resistant malignant cells to VEN treatment via dephosphorylation of anti-apoptotic proteins, suggesting a promising combination approach to explore further. Abstract Background: Unlike apoptosis, necroptosis, a programmed necrosis discovered in the past decade, elicits robust adaptive immune responses, including inflammatory cascade, against bacterial infection. However, no human study has yet examined the role of necroptosis in colorectal carcinogenesis. Methods: To compare the roles of necroptosis (TRPM7, pMLKL) with inflammation (COX-2), apoptosis (BAX, TUNEL) and cell proliferation (Ki67) biomarkers across the colorectal carcinogenesis spectrum, we evaluated the trends of biomarker levels from normal colorectal mucosa, to small adenoma, large adenomas and early stages of CRC in tissue microarray (TMA). Furthermore, we compared whether these biomarkers in rectal biopsies can predict the risk of developing metachronous polyp/adenoma. Results: In TMA, we revealed that levels of TRPM7, did not apparently change from normal mucosa (median=1.1) to small adenoma (median=0.8), but then substantially dropped in large adenoma (median=0.1) only to rise dramatically increased in early colorectal cancer (median=7.4) (P for trend=0.004). pMLKL, tended to decrease during carcinogenesis, although not significantly. Ki67 linearly and significantly increased during carcinogenesis (Ptrend=0.002). Similar to Ki67, levels of BAX and TUNEL increased significantly during carcinogenesis, but BAX started to drop in early carcinogenesis. Thus, compared to TRPM7, a necroptosis biomarker, BAX, an apoptosis biomarker, had an almost completely opposite trend during carcinogenesis. COX-2 intensity in the epithelium, but not the stroma, increased in carcinogenesis (Ptrend=0.01). Of 124/227 participants who had follow-up colonoscopy within 5 years, 69 (55.6%) were identified as having metachronous polyp/adenoma. For single biomarker analysis, overexpression of COX-2 was significantly associated with an increased risk of metachronous polyp OR=3.61 ( 95% CI: 1.05-2.47, Ptrend=0.02) and adenoma (OR=3.58, 95% CI 0.96-3.36, Ptrend=0.04). Higher expression of TRPM7 was associated with risk of recurrent polyp and adenoma in a dose-response manner although it did not reaching statistically significance. According to the results of single biomarker analysis and biological plausibility, we combined COX-2 with two necroptosis biomarkers, i.e., pMLKL, TRPM7 and two apoptosis biomarkers (BAX and TUNEL) to generate composite index scores using factor analysis. Several of these composite scores were strongly associated with a 3- to 5-fold increased of metachronous polyp and/or adenoma risk in the highest quartile including COX-2 with pMLKL, COX-2 and TRPM7, BAX and TRPM7 and COX-2 with BAX. The results were similar after the exclusion of recurrence within one year after the completion of the PPCCT. Conclusion: Necroptosis plays a key role in colorectal carcinogenesis. Combining necroptosis biomarkers with inflammation and apoptosis biomarkers can improve the prediction of risk of metachronous polyp/adenoma compared to using necroptosis, inflammation or apoptosis biomarkers alone. Para abordar la problemática de la comprensión y el uso del gerundio en español, los estudiantes chinos suelen recurrir a categorías de palabras semejantes al gerundio de su lengua materna o del inglés. En su aprendizaje de español, el equivalente natural para la comprensión del gerundio lo protagoniza la partícula aspectual 着 (zhe), ya que comparte el significado aspectual imperfectivo. De esta forma, en el presente estudio nos proponemos contrastar estos dos elementos lingüísticos a través de sus características morfológicas, sintácticas y semánticas, con el propósito de alcanzar un resultado práctico que asista a los alumnos chinos en su adquisición del español como segunda lengua extranjera.

The nymphal and key imaginal characters of V. sinensis are described and figured. The monogeneric family Vietnamellidae has long series of autapomorphies (two pairs of projections on head, modified mandibles, slender maxillae with few setae, round hindwings, and half of egg covered with single cap) and some plesiomorphies (seven pairs of gills, large hindwings, few marginal intercalaries on forewings). The structures of mouthparts, head and forefemora suggest that nymphs of Vietnamella may be able to move substrates and scrape food from them. Morphological evidences show that the family Vietnamellidae is a basal clade of Ephemerelloidea.

The advent of electric vehicles, grid storage, and more powerful electronic devices has made it necessary to develop a new generation of high energy rechargeable batteries to overcome the inadequacies of the current lithium-ion batteries (LIB) technology. Replacing the conventional cathode material with Sulfur and pairing it with a Lithium (Li) metal anode to obtain the Lithium-Sulfur (Li-S) battery is a promising approach. Li-S has a theoretical specific energy density of 2600 Wh/kg, which is significantly higher than what the modern LIB can offer1. In addition, the low cost, natural abundance, and environmental friendliness of sulfur suit commercial consideration. However, the path to commercialization and adoption of Li-S has several challenges. One of the major challenges in Li-S batteries relates to the undesired solubility of the sulfur products in the liquid electrolyte, resulting in so-called Li polysulfides (LiPSs) “shuttling”. During the discharge, the reaction of Li and sulfur results in the stepwise transformation of stable ring-shaped sulfur (S8) to a series of LiPSs (Li2Sx, x = 1, 2, 4, 6, 8). Unfortunately, the long-chain LiPSs have high solubility in the electrolyte that facilitates the back-and-forth transport of the LiPSs between the electrodes. The result is a “chemical short” in the cell, a loss of active material, and poor cyclability2. To overcome this problem, a clear understanding of the discharge and charge electrochemical reactions in Li-S battery is much needed. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is a powerful technique to study the electrochemical mechanisms at work in many technologies, including the Li-S battery. Because of this, multiple EIS-based measurements for the Li-S battery have been reported. However, those attempts carried out EIS measurements during the first cycle3–5 or the first few cycles6, which does not provide robust insight into the conditioned charge and discharge processes taking place in a real battery as it operates for many cycles. Hence, a clear understanding of the electrochemical processes and their mechanisms in Li-S batteries at extended cycle numbers is needed. In this work, we expand our understanding of the Li-S charge and discharge mechanisms at a high number of cycles and various depths of discharge (DoD) and states of charge (SoC). An equivalent circuit model of the EIS spectra was proposed from the Nyquist plots. New insights about the individual contribution of charge transfer resistance and the impedance resulting from the deposition of non-conducting Li2S/Li2S2 at high number of cycles were achieved. Rad najprije utvrđuje da iz pojma prvobitnog znanja (liangzhi 良知) Wanga Yangminga王陽明 (1472. – 1529.) ne slijedi subjektivni idealizam te da je vezan za transcendentalnu subjektivnost u smislu fenomenologije. Zatim, raspravlja se o pitanju ima li Wang pojam prvobitne sposobnosti (liangneng 良能). Argumentira se da se može naći u dvije glavne Wangove teme – »znanje i radnja jedno su« (zhixing heyi 知行合一) te »razmatrati Nebo i Zemlju i mnoštvo stvari kao jedno (rizomatično) tijelo« (以天地萬物為一體) ili ih smatrati »izvorno jednim s mojim (rizomatičnim) tijelom« (本吾一體). Pokazuje se da su prvobitno znanje i sposobnost dva aspekta isto fenomena. Istinito je na razini virtualnog »rizomatskog tijela« (ti 體), a ne na razini stvari razmatranih kao potpuno oblikovane i aktualizirane (xing 形), kako se pojavljuju u empirijskom umu, zamagljeni žudnjama (yu 欲) koje postaju fiksirane na razini aktualnog. Te se žudnje mogu razriješiti putem »proširenja (prvobitnog) znanja« zhi (liang)zhi 致(良)知. Usporedni pojam »proširenja (prvobitne) sposobnosti« (zhi liangneng 致良能), koji Wang Yangming ne koristi, može se unijeti u sustav.

U ovom će se radu, na korpusu fotografija reproduciranih na stranicama specijaliziranih časopisa posvećenih fotografiji koji su izlazili tijekom međuraća, razmotriti uobičajene prakse prikazivanja s problemskim fokusom na rodne i klasne pozicije fotografa i fotografiranog/fotografirane te na odnose društvenosti i moći. Interdisciplinarnim povezivanjem perspektiva, spoznaja i pristupa povijesti umjetnosti te etnologije i kulturne antropologije, ovim će se radom doprinijeti propitivanju „prirodnosti” rodnog i klasnoga mjesta u društvu. Iz cjeline fotografija objavljenih u fotografskim časopisima odabrane su onenjih oko 350 objavljenih između 1927. i 1941. na kojima je prikazan ljudski lik, a razmatranje podrazumijeva napuštanje klasičnoga interpretativnog aparata, estetskih vrednovanja i oslanjanja na uobičajene povijesnoumjetničke interpretacije tih i sličnih slika te se nije obraćala pažnja na stilske preferencije autora ni na formalne značajke fotografije. Metoda kojom se provodila analiza prikazanih likova i situacija oslanja se na analizu sadržaja, preciznije inventara slike, i to prema učestalosti pojavljivanja pojedinih motiva, a glavni aspekti prema kojima su razmatrane odabrane fotografije uključile su reprezentaciju prema zanimanju (profesiji kojom se bavi prikazani lik), prema načinu provođenja slobodnog vremena i prema emociji koju lik iskazuje, a uzeti su u obzir i predmeti koji ga okružuju, poza koju zauzima, radnja kojom je zaokupljen, prostor u kojem je smješten, dobna struktura i dr. Takva metoda rezultirala je kompleksnim razumijevanjem dominantnih prikazivačkih praksi i obrazaca, ali i pretpostavljenih društvenih asimetrija te nas dovela do spoznaja na koji način onovremene fotografije izražavaju, odražavaju, ohrabruju i perpetuiraju stereotipiziranje određenih društvenih skupina. Analizirani prikazi pokazuju da su na fotografijama neke uobičajene situacije ispuštane na račun drugih koje su pak forsirane. Na temelju tih znatnih asimetrija zaključujemo da slika društva koju nam pruža međuratna fotografija nije sušti odraz društva, već posljedica jednog određenog sustava vrijednosti, koji možemo obuhvatiti terminom građanski svjetonazor. Analiza reprezentacijskih obrazaca pokazala je kako su na fotografijama društvene skupine konstruirane po principu rodnih i klasnih binarnih opozicija, uvriježenih u građanskoj imaginaciji. Pa su tako opoziciji muško–žensko pridružene analogne opozicije pamet–ljepota, um–emocije, rad–odmor, ozbiljnost–zabava, duhovnost–erotičnost, dok opoziciju građanstvo–puk prate analogni pojmovi: mozak– trbuh, individualnost–društvenost, duhovnost–pobožnost. Fotografije time potvrđuju kako su žene u društvenom prostoru odvojene negativnim simboličkim koeficijentom od muškaraca, a jednako tako da je puk shvaćen kao negativna referentna točka građanskog načina života. Ovdje je riječ o uspostavljanju matrice predodžbi koje nisu povijesna istina, već konstrukt stvoren na mnijenju, a njihova učestalost i prisutnost u fotografiji i umjetnosti općenito pridonosi naturalizaciji rodnih i klasnih razlika te posljedičnom učvršćivanju i perpetuiranju društvenih asimetrija i nejednakosti.

Three fossil species of Equisetum (Equisetaceae) were reported from the Neogene of south-western China and northern Vietnam, based on well-preserved rhizomes with tubers. Equisetum cf. pratense Ehrhart from the middle Miocene of Zhenyuan County, Yunnan Province, China is characterised by a bunch of three ovate tubers with longitudinal ridges on the surface. Equisetum yenbaiense A.T. Aung, T. Su, T.V. Do &amp; Z.K. Zhou, sp. nov. from the late Miocene of Yenbai Province, Vietnam is characterised by four bunches of elongate tubers arranged in a whorl on a node. Equisetum yongpingense A.T. Aung, T. Su &amp; Z.K. Zhou, sp. nov. from the late Pliocene of Yunnan is characterised by fibrous roots on most nodes and two to four bunches of large cylindrical tubers arranged in a whorl on a node. Floristic assemblages suggest that these species might have grown near a riverside or lakeshore. These new fossil records improve our understanding of species richness of Equisetum and their distribution range during the Neogene in Asia.

A criatividade, em contexto organizacional, tem sido definida enquanto a produção de ideias originais, úteis e apropriadas (Zhou & Su, 2010) e constitui um passo necessário para a inovação (Amabile, 1988). No entanto, existem questões sobre as condições convenientes que estimulam a criatividade que não estão esclarecidas (Mumford, Hester & Robledo, 2012), nomeadamente o impacto de recompensas extrínsecas (Oldham & Baer, 2012) e o impacto do feedback negativo (Zhou, 2008). O presente estudo examina o efeito destes dois fatores anteriores na geração de ideias criativas. Foi realizado um estudo experimental com quatro condições (2x2 inter-individual), com 80 enfermeiros de um hospital central. Esta investigação contribui para obter mais conhecimento sobre as condições apropriadas para que a criatividade e a inovação prosperem nas organizações.

Mintis, kad tinkamas suvokimo suderinimas veda į šį būvį, yra giliai įsišaknijusi Liezi požiūryje į kosminės ir visuomeninės tvarkos evoliuciją. Čia aprašomas laipsniškas suvokimo proceso modifikavimas, leidžiantis jį sugretinti su pirmame skyriuje išdėstyta kosmogonija. Taigi, straipsnio tikslas yra išanalizuoti šiuos procesus, paaiškinti, kaip jie susiję tarpusavyje, ir ištirti, ką reiškia tapti „tobulu žmogumi“. Galiausiai paaiškėja, kad tik visiška suvokimo, įskaitant pagrindinio veikiančiojo – xin 心 („širdies”), užmarštis leidžia „tobulam žmogui“ tapti vieniu su pirmapradėmis jėgomis ir įgyti jų galią.

To achieve lithium-ion batteries with high energy density at competitive prices for automotive and large-scale applications, cathode active materials (CAMs) based on Li- and Mn-rich NCMs (LMR-NCMs), like Li1.14(Ni0.26Co0.14Mn0.60)0.86O2, are promising candidates.[1] However, LMR-NCMs still suffer from high gassing, particularly during cell formation, and detrimental voltage and capacity fading over their cycle life.[2,3] Different approaches can be utilized to try to mitigate these issues, such as the use of electrolyte additives, novel material designs (compositional gradients, etc.), or post-treatments.[4–7] In this study, we investigated the effect of a water-based post-treatment of LMR-NCM. It consists of a washing process of the LMR-NCM that results in a partial delithiation of its near-suface region by a lithium/proton ion exchange, while at the same time avoiding transition metal dissolution. A recalcination of this protonated near-surface layer of the LMR-NCM particles results in the formation of a protective spinel-like surface layer. We observed that after this treatment, the gassing during formation is decreased by »10-fold. Furthermore, the cycling performance of graphite/LMR-NCM full-cells is also drastically increased. By conducting on-line electrochemical mass spectrometry (OEMS) measurements, we analyzed the gas evolution of as-received and post-treated LMR-NCMs during the first activation cycle. It is known from the literature that the activation of LMR-NCMs is accompanied by a strong O2 and CO2 evolution during the first charge.[2] As seen in Figure 1, CO2 is evolved simultaneously with O2 from Li/LMR-NCM half-cells, prepared with untreated, as-received LMR-NCM (as-received, black line). With post-treated LMR-NCM, both CO2 and O2-evolution during the activation cycle are reduced by »10-fold (post-treated, green line). Only a small amount of the first-charge capacity (<10%) is lost due to the post-treatment, as seen in Figure 1a, reflecting the slight extent of delithiation that is part of the post-treatment. As will be shown, cycling tests of graphite/LMR-NCM full-cells with a post-treated LMR-NCM reveal a greatly increased cycling stability in comparison to cells with an as-received material. Abstract:
В статье приведены результаты сравнительной оценки ферментативной активности серых лесных почв при органическом и традиционном земледелии, а также сравнительные данные интегральной оценки, проведенной по комплексу агрохимических, физико-химических, агрофизических и биохимических показателей. Показано, что органическое сельское хозяйство способствует повышению содержания гумуса, валового и щелочногидролизуемого азота, а также общей активности ферментов и экологической устойчивости серых лесных почв в Предкамье Республики Татарстан. Результаты многомерного дискриминантного анализа указывают на статистически достоверную разницу в экологическом состоянии серой лесной почвы при органическом и традиционном земледелии. По комплексу агрохимических и физико-химических показателей, а также по биохимическим параметрам, общей ферментативной активности серые лесные почвы органических агроценозов наиболее приближены к уровню природных биоценозов. Установлено, что по средним показателям ферментативной активности серые лесные почвы органических и традиционных агроценозов являются среднеобогащенными по уреазной и инвертазной активности и бедными – по каталазной. Показано, что изменение общей ферментативной активности серых лесных почв напрямую зависит от их обогащенности щелочногидролизуемым азотом, валовым азотом, обменным калием, подвижным фосфором и гумусом. По степени чувствительности к агрогенному воздействию ферменты типичных серых лесных почв достоверно образуют следующую последовательность: активность инвертазы > активность уреазы > активность каталазы. This commentary addresses “Numerical investigation of the potential contamination of a shallow aquifer in producing coalbed methane” by Xianbo Su, Fengde Zhou, and Stephen Tyson. We think the models used in the simulations described in the paper are unrealistic, even as a conceptual worst case scenario. Concerns regarding how the results of these simulations are interpreted and portrayed, and in particular how they are related to previous works are discussed in detail. We believe the original paper uses language which could be misleading, and possibly alarmist, and we suggest references cited in the original paper may have been misinterpreted.

U ovom radu prikazana je novoosnovana Očna klinika Medicinskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu na temelju fotografske zbirke pohranjene u Odsjeku za povijest medicinskih znanosti HAZU. Zbirku je Odsjeku donirao povjesničar medicine i oftalmolog Vladimir Dugački. Zbirka se sastoji od fotoalbuma smeđih korica s ornamentima, dimenzija 22,5 × 15,5 cm, koji sadrži 12 monokromnih fotografija 13,5 × 8 cm Očne klinike te osam uvećanih fotografija formata 22,5 × 17 cm nalijepljenih na karton. Premda nisu datirane fotografije vjerojatno potječu iz razdoblja nakon otvorenja Klinike između 1923. i 1926. godine. Neki od fotografiranih prostora prepoznatljivi su i okom laika (predavaonica, knjižnica, operacijska dvorana), dok se u funkciju onih ispunjenih aparaturom, može proniknuti tek uz neophodno medicinsko znanje i poznavanje razvoja struke. Namjera naručitelja ovih fotografiranja predstojnika Klinike Alberta Botterija bila prikaz novoosnovane klinike, ne samo po prostoru u koji je smještena, aparaturi i instrumentima kojima je opremljena, već i po njezinoj specijalističkoj usmjerenosti i znanju koje se iz tog sustava generira. Ekspertizu Očne klinike definiraju specijalizacija i subspecijalizacija, usmjerenje spram određenog organa u skladu s razvojnim dosezima medicine toga doba. Klinika je novo i drugačije iskustvo prakse liječnika, fragmentiran fokus na dijelove organizma, umijeće njihovog sjedinjavanja u kliničkoj interpretaciji i artikulaciji, što se na simbolički način može iščitati iz fotografija. Svaka fotografija iz albuma klinike funkcionira za sebe, ali i kao dio narativne linije cjeline, potvrđujući sustav ove ustanove kao radilišta koje izrasta iz identiteta novoosnovanog Medicinskog fakulteta, njegove akademske i opće društvene uloge.Za razliku od drugih klinika, čije su rane fotografije uglavnom snimili amateri, vizualna reprezentacija Očne klinike prepuštena je profesionalcu, poznatom zagrebačkom fotoatelijeru Foto Tonka koji je vodila Antonija Kulčar. Botteri je nedvojbeno svoju, ujedno i prvu Očnu kliniku u regiji želio predstaviti javnosti kao ustanovu usmjerene i organizirane funkcionalnosti, specijalizacije i prepoznatljivosti, ali i kao ogledalo svoje kompetentnosti i vještine opremanja kako bi stala uz bok sličnim europskim ustanovama. U tom kontekstu sačuvane fotografije Očne klinike, koje su desetljećima ostale izvan društvenog pogleda, svojom ispražnjenošću od ljudi i tehnologiziranom hladnoćom čine svojevrstan antipod bujnom, razigranom životu koji uobičajeno proizlazi iz Tonkinog atelijera. Gotovo paradoksalno, taj vizualni ispis ustanove koja se bavi očima ostao je izvan očiju javnosti, premda su vjerojatno mnogi klijenti Tonkinog atelijera ondje katkada zatražili pomoć.

U središtu su članka četiri umjetničke intervencije koje su početkom 2019. godine izvedene u Zatvoru u Zagrebu u cilju estetizacije zatvorskog prostora. Rad se temelji na kvalitativnom etnografskom istraživanju koje je provedeno tijekom oslikavanja u navedenom zatvoru, u cilju razumijevanja: a) umjetničkog koncepta i nastajanja umjetničkog djela u zatvorskim prostorima, b) dinamike i značenja koju umjetničko djelo u zatvoru izaziva te c) promjene doživljaja kako pojedinačnih zatvorskih prostora tako i šire društvene percepcije o zatvorskom sustavu. Pristupi istraživanju i interpretaciji proizlaze iz antropologije prostora i mjesta te antropologije umjetnosti. Istraživanjem se analiziraju društveni, interakcijski, edukativni, estetizirajući, terapijski i afektivni učinci konkretnih umjetničkih intervencija u zatvoru. Poseban je interes fokusiran prema odnosima koji postoje ili se mijenjaju tijekom intervencija između svih uključenih aktera (umjetnici, razni profili djelatnika u zatvoru, zatvorenici). Ključan doprinos kulturnoantropoloških istraživanja proizlazi iz sposobnosti etnografije da bilježi i promišlja umjetnost ostvarenu kao relacijsku i komunikacijsku aktivnost, a u smislu primjene etnografskog istraživanja, riječ je o novitetu u istraživanju hrvatskih zatvorskih sustava.

Since the Jin Hou Su chime-bells from the cemetery of the Jin lords at Tianma-Qucun, Shanxi, became known to the scholarly world, the problem of the dates contained in its inscription has attracted the attention of scholars both in and outside of China. In this article we discuss two aspects of this problem. First, while the “thirty-third year” date of the inscription must certainly refer to King Xuan's reign, which is to say 795 B.C., the four full date notations of the inscription are incompatible with this year, but are instead compatible with the following year, 794 B.C. This article suggests two ways to reconcile this discrepancy. Second, while there can be no doubt that Jin Hou Su is Jin Xian Hou, the “Jin shijia” chapter of the Shi ji gives his dates of reign as 822 to 812 B.C., which is in turn incompatible with either 795 or 794 B.C. However, in the Shi ji's genealogy of Jin lords, the son of Xian Hou is Mu Hou and the grandson of Mu Hou is Zhao Hou, which contradicts the zhao-mu structure of the Zhou ancestral system. Therefore, we propose that the Shiji has reversed the order of Xian Hou and Mu Hou, such that Xian Hou's reign actually extended from King Xuan's thirty-third year through his forty-third year (795-785 B.C.). Not only does this simple change in the genealogy of the Jin lords resolve the problem of the dates in the Jin Hou Su bells inscription, but it also serves to explain an entire array of problems in the chronology of early China.

U radu se—u kontekstu europske amaterske fotografije devetnaestoga stoljeća—progovara o okolnostima nastanka zagrebačkoga Kluba amatera fotografa i najranijem razdoblju njegova djelovanja (do 1898.). Posebna je pozornost pritom poklonjena preciznom utvrđivanju datuma osnutka kluba (4. rujna 1893.), za koji se dosad mislilo da je bio utemeljen godinu dana ranije. U nastavku je obrađena i organizacija kluba, njegova fotooprema i atelijeri, načini financiranja, odnos s Društvom umjetnosti te prvi organizirani nastupi na izložbama i najraniji članovi. Klub amatera fotografa u Zagrebu utemeljen je 4. rujna 1893. Ideja za njegovo osnivanje potekla je od skupine entuzijasta, mahom članova Društva umjetnosti, na sastanku održanomu na Josipovcu krajem kolovoza 1893., u vrijeme širenja fotoamaterskog pokreta po čitavoj Europi. Impuls za organiziranje zagrebačkih fotoamatera bez sumnje je bio uspjeh polučen na Međunarodnoj izložbi umjetnina održanoj 1891. u Zagrebu, dok je kao model mogao poslužiti bilo koji od postojećih klubova diljem Austro-Ugarske Monarhije. Ipak, glavni je uzor u organizacijskom i praktičnom smislu bez sumnje bio bečki Klub amatera fotografa (Camera Club), čijemu su članstvu pripadali i neki od zagrebačkih fotoamatera. Od početaka tijesno povezan s Društvom umjetnosti, Klub amatera fotografa, posredstvom Izidora Kršnjavoga, u nekoliko je navrata obilno dotirala Zemaljska vlada, čime je postavljena i solidna infrastruktura za fotografsku djelatnost. Prvi je klupski atelijer bio u prostoru jednoga od osnivača, Julija pl. Zigeunera Blumendorfskoga, da bi po njegovu odlasku iz Zagreba fotoamateri od veljače 1894. nastavili raditi u atelijeru znamenitoga fotografa Ivana Standla. Njegov je atelijer u Mesničkoj ulici ujedno zadnji prostor koji su zagrebački fotoamateri rabili tijekom 19. stoljeća, pa tako s krajem 1898. završava i prvo poglavlje organiziranoga fotoamaterizma u glavnome hrvatskom gradu. Period koji je razmatran u članku (1891.–1898.) moguće je podijeliti na tri razdoblja: prvo (pripremno) od Međunarodne izložbe umjetnina 1891. do utemeljenja kluba 4. rujna 1893., drugo (samostalno) od utemeljenja kluba do njegova sjedinjenja s Društvom umjetnosti 1. siječnja 1895. te treće od početka 1895. do napuštanja Standlova atelijera 12. srpnja 1898. Kroz tih je sedam godina fotoamaterizam u Zagrebu prošao put od hobija nekolicine imućnijih građana i plemića do ozbiljne organizacije s poslanjem širenja interesa za fotografiju, a preko nje i upoznavanja širega općinstva s njezinim umjetničkim odlikama. Vrhunac organizirane fotoamaterske djelatnosti u Zagrebu svakako je bilo izlaganje članova Kluba amatera fotografa na Hrvatskoj narodnoj umjetničkoj izložbi, održanoj na prijelazu 1894. u 1895., da bi nedugo potom, po pripajanju kluba Društvu umjetnosti, kroz svega tri godine takva, organizirana djelatnost gotovo u potpunosti zamrla. Kao ozbiljnija se iznimka u periodu nakon 1894. velikim brojem izložaba i osvojenih nagrada istaknuo Leo Antun pl. Vetter, jedan od prvih zagrebačkih fotoamatera, poznat još s Međunarodne izložbe umjetnina 1891. Njegove su snimke između 1894. i 1898. nekoliko puta objavljivane u prestižnome bečkom glasilu Wiener Photographische Blätter. Upravo su Vetter i Antun Stiasni ml.—čija je ozbiljnija fotografska karijera tek počinjala—svojim kontinuiranim radom pomogli prebrođivanju krize organiziranoga fotoamaterizma u periodu od sjedinjenja Kluba amatera fotografa s Društvom umjetnosti do njegova ponovnoga aktiviranja u obnovljenom društvu početkom 20. stoljeća.

U radu se razmatra povezanost fotografije i skulpture te posebno dokumentacijska, promotivna i produkcijska uloga fotografije u kiparskom stvaralaštvu Oscara Nemona. Postavlja se teza da je mjesto autoportretne skulpture u Nemonovu opusu zauzela fotografija: u fokusu su one fotografije koje nadilaze razinu popratne dokumentacije Nemonova kiparskog stvaralaštva i koje se mogu iščitavati i tumačiti na sasvim drugoj, konceptualnoj razini supstituta autoportreta u skulpturi. Fotografija se hipotetički razmatra kao medij samoreprezentacije u Nemonovu kiparskom opusu, odnosno kao alternativno sredstvo realizacije ideje umjetničkog djela — autoportretne skulpture.

Asthma is one of the most common allergic respiratory diseases around the world and places great burden on medical payment. Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) is commonly used for Taiwanese children to control diseases. The aim of this study is to analyze the CHM prescriptions for asthmatic children by using a nationwide clinical database. The National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD) was used to perform this study. Medical records from 1997 to 2009 with diagnosis with asthma made for children aged 6 to 18 were included into the analysis. Association rule mining and social network analysis were used to analyze the prevalence of single CHM and its combinations. Ma-Xing-Gan-Shi-Tang (MXGST) was the most commonly used herbal formula (HF) (20.2% of all prescriptions), followed by Xiao-Qing-Long-Tang (13.1%) and Xing-Su-San (12.8%). Zhe Bei Mu is the most frequently used single herb (SH) (14.6%), followed by Xing Ren (10.7%). MXGST was commonly used with Zhe Bei Mu (3.5%) and other single herbs capable of dispelling phlegm. Besides, MXGST was the core formula to relieve asthma. Further studies about efficacy and drug safety are needed for the CHM commonly used for asthma based on the result of this study.

Energy storage systems made from abundant materials are essential for the transition to a more sustainable economy. Although today lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are the most popular battery technology, the growing demand and low availability of lithium, as well as the use of cobalt and other rare metals raise questions about the sustainability and long-term viability of LIB as the only energy storage solution. The high abundance of sodium content and relative similarity to LIBs, allows the sodium ion batteries (SIBs) to be considered as alternative for stationary energy storage [1]. However, the widespread adoption of SIB technology is hampered by many challenges, including the relatively low energy density compared to LIB. Lower energy density electrodes, such as Na2FeP2O7, are generally stable during cycling [2], while many higher energy density electrodes, such as NaxMnO2, have had a shorter cycle life [3]. In this work we show several possible solutions how to improve the electrochemical properties of the SIBs made of these cathode materials. The promising cathode material Na2FeP2O7 was studied to improve its electrical conductivity, which is often low in the case of sodium pyrophosphates. Solution synthesis was used to prepare pristine Na2FeP2O7 and Na2FeP2O7/C composite cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries, using glucose as a carbon source. While the pristine Na2FeP2O7 displays capacity of only 45 mAh/g due to the relatively large grain size, the addition of carbon increases the capacity to up to 92 mAh/g (95% of the theoretical 97 mAh/g capacity) with excellent rate capability, as 44 mAh/g capacity is still retained even at 20 C (1.94 A/g) current. The optimal content of carbon was found to be 4.8%. The initial capacity of 81 mAh/g is fully retained after 500 cycles at 1 C, indicating excellent cycle life of Na2FeP2O7/C. Electrochemical measurements were carried out in 1 M NaClO4 salt in propylene carbonate as electrolyte and show that the addition of 5 wt.% fluoroethylene carbonate solid electrolyte interphase stabilizing additive greatly benefits the rate and cycling performance of Na2FeP2O7/C as measured in half-cells [4]. Na0,67MnO2 is another compound that is widely studied as cathode materials in sodium ion batteries. Currently polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is the most popular binder choice. In our study, a novel tetrabutylammonium (TBA) alginate binder is used to prepare a Na0,67MnO2 electrode for sodium-ion batteries with improved electrochemical performance. The ageing of the electrodes has been characterized. TBA alginate-based electrodes are compared to PVDF and Na alginate-based electrodes and show favorable electrochemical performance, with gravimetric capacity values of up to 164 mAh/g, which is 6% higher than measured for the electrode prepared with PVDF binder. TBA alginate-based Na0,67MnO2 electrodes also display good rate capability and improved cyclability and their solid–electrolyte interface is similar to that of PVDF-based electrodes. As the only salt of alginic acid soluble in non-aqueous solvents, TBA alginate emerges as a good alternative to PVDF binder in battery applications where the water-based processing of electrode slurries is not feasible, such as the demonstrated case with Na0,67MnO2 [5]. Overall, we have shown that binder and electrolyte selection can significantly improve the electrochemical properties of electrode materials for SIBs. Članak istražuje odnos između kategorije fotografske slike i pojma „memorijski projekt” iscrtavajući pritom historijsku transverzalu koja povezuje prvu knjigu opremljenu fotografskim tablama The Pencil of Nature Williama Henryja Foxa Talbota, književni opus W. G. Sebalda i kapitalno djelo Abyja Warburga Bilderatlas Mnemosyne. Polazeći od Sebaldova iskaza prema kojemu sjećanje nije ništa drugo doli citiranje i tvrdnje Kaje Silverman da fotografska slika nije ni indeks ni reprezentacija nego analogija, detektiraju se analogije između diskursa Foxa Talbota i Sebalda, odnosno Warburga i Sebalda, i postavlja teza da su The Pencil of Nature i Bilderatlas Mnemosyne te nadasve život i djelo Waltera Benjamina upisani u Sebaldov književni opus kao citati bez navodnih znakova. Ta je teza argumentirana bilješkom iz Benjaminove kartoteke koja se odnosi na spoznajnu teoriju i koja glasi: „Ovaj rad mora maksimalno razviti umjetnost citiranja bez navodnih znakova” te zaključkom Giorgia Agambena da je najenigmatičniji pojam Benjaminove misli, pojam slike, Bild, pravi terminus technicus njegova poimanja povijesti. Susljedno tome, članak razmatra Sebaldovu aproprijaciju i operacionalizaciju Benjaminova pojma dijalektičke slike, kao i elaboraciju koncepta nekronološkog vremena kroz specifični digresivni i tangencijalni narativni postupak „pisanja slikama” koji se manifestira u umetanju reprodukcija fotografskih slika u tkivo književnog teksta i kroz virtuoznu izvedbu ekfrastičkih opisa u kojima se događaju rasprizorenja, odnosno artikulira nesvodiva razlika između povijesne istine i materijalne istine. Članak se usredotočuje na Sebaldovu internalizaciju Warburgova pojma migrirajućih motiva pri „pisanju slikama”. Nadalje, tekst argumentira tvrdnju da je Sebald maestralnom primjenom citiranja bez navodnih znakova ispisao vlastite teze o pojmu povijesti da bi ukazao na ishodišta genocidnih politika dvadesetog stoljeća u povijesti europskog kolonijalizma. Zaključno, u članku se tvrdi da su Sebaldove „prozne knjige neodređene vrste”, poput Warburgove „antropologije slika i ikonologije njihovih intervala”, inaugurirale ono što Georges Didi-Huberman naziva novim žanrom spoznaje.

U historijatu Života umjetnosti fotografija je nekoliko puta „zavrijedila” zasebne sveske i temate, objavljene u raznim desetljećima, u kojima su bila istaknuta pojedina važna pitanja posvećena nekim od aspekata ovog medija. Prvi put bilo je to 1968., kad je uvodničar šestog broja Mladen Grčević zagovarao „jednu univerzalnu povijest fotografije”, svjestan njezine važnosti za „ekspresiju suvremenog čovjeka”, kojega je upravo fotografija „naučila gledati”. Ovih nekoliko njegovih riječi važno je za tadašnje razumijevanje fotografije koja je dugo vremena bila na margini umjetničkih zbivanja, dok danas suvereno zauzima jedno od središnjih mjesta suvremenoga kritičkog diskursa o kulturi i umjetnosti. Zbog toga se iznova javlja potreba za kritičkim čitanjem kako njezina povijesnog razvoja tako i raznih uloga koje je preuzela.

Abstract:
U tekstu se izlažu okolnosti i tijek angažmana ugledne minhenske tvrtke Franz Hanfstaengl na fotografiranju umjetnina u Strossmayerovoj galeriji 1920-ih godina. Uvidom u relevantne, dosad neobjavljene, arhivske dokumente rekonstruira se kronologija događanja i utvrđuju njihove uzročno-posljedične veze. Na temelju pak komparativne analize izvornoga fotografskog materijala, starih prodajnih kataloga ove njemačke tvrtke i drugih specijaliziranih fotografa, kao i starih muzejskih kataloga Galerije slika Muzeja likovnih umjetnosti u Budimpešti, produbljuju se spoznaje o ulozi pojedinih sudionika pothvata te se njihova motivacija i specifičan doprinos sagledavaju u kontekstu profesionalnih interesa odnosno poslovnih strategija. S obzirom na to da su u fokusu razmatranja dodirne točke onodobnih povijesnoumjetničkih i fotografskih praksi, tekst u jednakoj mjeri zahvaća metode i historiografiju spomenute discipline, kao i povijest fotografije.

Abstract:
Redatelj i pjesnik Ivan Martinac izveo je 1989. godine s još šestoricom izvođača performans Nije vrijeme za plodove. Splitskom povijesnom jezgrom nosili su stablo suhe trešnje koje je oblikom podsjećalo na križ, a njihovu je procesiju fotografirao Jadran Babić. Martinac je tri godine poslije objavio zbirku Ulazak u Jeruzalem, gdje u pjesmi Rajski vrt opisuje taj performans zazivajući uskrsnuće za sebe i šestoricu preostalih izvođača. Gestama iskupljenja Martinac se bavi i u svojem jedinom dugometražnom igranom filmu Kuća na pijesku (1985.) u kojem, kao i u performansu, ritualizacijom svakodnevnog zaziva transcendentno. Film Kuća na pijesku i performans Nije vrijeme za plodove upotrebljavaju geste i kretnje kao postupke kroz koji se otkrivaju najdublji mehanizmi te se ponavljaju do u beskonačnost, odnosno do prezasićenja vremena, prostora i samog predstavljanja kako bi se postiglo iščeznuće svakog značenja.
