AbstractDe halogenen behoren op grond van hun positie in het periodiek systeem tot Groep VIIA. Dit betekent dat zij zeven valentie-elektronen hebben en een extra elektron nodig hebben om het octet te completeren, hetgeen wijst op hun snelle reactieve vermogen. Het kernthema van de halogenen is het gevoel verraden of gekwetst te zijn. Om met dergelijke gevoelens om te gaan, klampen zij zich vast aan de mensen om hen heen. Om te voorkomen dat de relatie wordt verbroken, grijpen zij naar dingen waarnaar zij verlangen en proberen zij te vluchten om de afwijzing niet onder ogen te hoeven zien. Zij beseffen hun vergissing wanneer zij toch afgewezen worden en houden ze dan op tegen te stribbelen. Ze “laten de situatie los”; ze wenden zich af. Dit zijn de mislukte kanten van halogenen. Het voorvoegsel in dit stadium is ‘ex’. Ze zetten zichzelf vrijwillig of gedwongen uit de situatie; expiratie, geëxcommuniceerd, extravagant. De halogenen en andere anionen hebben het gevoel dat zij, om niet gekwetst te worden, iets moeten doen, handelen, presteren; daarom worden zij “doeners” genoemd. Met het begrijpen van de halogenen vanuit het psychologische perspectief wordt ons begrip van deze groep samenhangend.

Zie wat er gebeurt in de publieke sector: de voorbeelden van zelfverrijking zijn aan de orde van de dag. Of je nu praat over het onderwijs, woningcorporaties, de zorg, opvang van vluchtelingen: in vele sectoren zijn voorbeelden te vinden van vergaand mismanagement. Soms krijg je het gevoel dat al die managers er niet meer zijn ter ondersteuning en voortdurende verbetering van de primaire processen, maar dat zij een geheel eigen (droom)wereld hebben geschapen waarin zij zelf de scepter zwaaien en waarin het primaire proces (het onderwijs, de zorg, de huisvesting, de opvang van vluchtelingen) er is ter bevordering van hun eigen belangen. In bijna alle delen van de publieke sector heb ik een soort institutionele parade zien ontstaan waarin het er vooral op aan komt om hoog te scoren op de ‘league tables’.

Onbeperkt belastingplichtigen, zoals NV’s, BV’s en coöperaties, zijn volledig belastingplichtig op basis van hun rechtsvorm en vallen daarom voor alles wat zij doen onder de Vpb-heffing. Zij kennen geen onbelaste sfeer of onbelaste activiteiten. Dat is anders voor de beperkt belastingplichtigen, waarvan de bekendste verschijningsvormen de rechtsvorm van een vereniging of stichting hebben. Verenigingen en stichtingen zijn Vpbplichtig indien en voorzover zij een materiële onderneming drijven dan wel het daarop lijkt en zij in concurrentie treden met andere voor inkomsten- of vennootschapsbelasting belastingplichtige ondernemers. Abstract:
Les progrès de l’électronique ont connu depuis ces dernières décennies un essor spectaculaire. La grande majorité des appareils électroniques modernes sont conçus à base de circuits intégrés plus fiables, plus légers et moins encombrants. La planarisation s’impose comme l’une des alternatives incontournables à la miniaturisation des composants. Cette nouvelle technologie permet de réaliser des composants intégrés avec diverses structures. Par conséquent, la diversité de ces structures engendre de nouveaux problèmes notamment sur leur caractérisation. La problématique se pose sur la maitrise des fonctionnements et de savoir comment vont se comporter ces composants en fonction de la fréquence. Jusqu’à présent, au laboratoire, on peut caractériser des composants intégrés à l’aide d’un LCRmètre du continu jusqu’à quelques centaines de kHz, et en hautes fréquences avec des analyseurs vectoriels de réseaux. Cependant ces deux outils sont limités fréquentiellement et présentent des lacunes considérables dans un gap fréquentiel allant des dizaines de kHz à des centaines de MHz. Les objectifs de ces travaux de thèse sont donc de développer une méthode de caractérisation de composants intégrés passifs magnétiques notamment les inductances dans une large bande de fréquence allant du continu jusqu’à des centaines de MHz avec un impédancemètre 4294A. Cette caractérisation doit permettre de mesurer ou de déterminer les paramètres impédance Zij et les paramètres admittance Yij en garantissant une bonne précision, afin d’extraire les éléments du modèle électrique du composant à caractériser. Par la suite une étude comparative des résultats obtenus par les mesures effectuées avec l’impédancemètre et le VNA dans les bandes de fréquence de recouvrement [2 MHz-110 MHz] permettra de valider notre principe de mesure. Les résultats obtenus au cours de ces travaux permettent de déterminer avec une précision meilleure que 2 % les différents éléments du modèle électrique du composant à caractériser<br>The progress of electronics has seen a spectacular rise in recent decades. The great majority of modern electronic devices are based on more reliable, lighter and less bulky integrated circuits. The planarization is essential as one of the essential alternatives to the miniaturization of the components. This new technology allows components with various structures to be integrated. Consequently, the diversity of these structures produces new problems, particularly on their characterization. The problem concerns the component performance depending on the frequency. Until now, in the laboratory, integrated components can be characterized by using LCRmeter for frequencies included between the continuous and a few hundred kHz, and at high frequencies, by a network vector analyzer for frequencies included between tens of MHz and some GHz. However, these two devices are frequency limited and have considerable gap in a frequency ranging from tens of kHz to hundreds of MHz. The objectives of this thesis work are therefore to develop a characterization method of magnetic passive integrated components like inductances in a broadband frequency from continuous to hundreds of MHz. This characterization allows the impedance Zij and the admittance parameters Yij to be measured or to be determined in order to guarantee a good accuracy and to extract the electrical model elements of the component. Subsequently a comparative study of the results obtained with the impedance meter and the VNA measurements are realized in order to validate the measurement principle. The results obtained during this work allow an accuracy measurement lower than 2% for electrical model elements of the component to be determined

Les systèmes numériques utilisés pour l'Internet des Objets (IoT) et les Systèmes Embarqués ont connu une utilisation croissante ces dernières décennies. Les systèmes embarqués basés sur des microcontrôleurs (MCU) permettent de résoudre des problématiques variées, en récoltant de nombreuses données. Aujourd'hui, environ 250 milliards de MCU sont utilisés. Les projections d'utilisation de ces systèmes pour les années à venir annoncent une croissance très forte. L'intelligence artificielle a connu un regain d'intérêt dans les années 2012. L'utilisation de réseaux de neurones convolutifs (CNN) a permis de résoudre de nombreuses problématiques de vision par ordinateur ou de traitement du langage naturel. L'utilisation de ces algorithmes d'intelligence artificielle au sein de systèmes embarqués permettrait d'améliorer grandement l'exploitation des données récoltées. Cependant le coût d'exécution des CNN rend leur implémentation complexe au sein de systèmes embarqués. Ces travaux de thèse se concentrent sur l'exploration de l'espace des solutions pour guider l'intégration des CNN au sein de systèmes embarqués basés sur des microcontrôleurs. Pour cela, la méthodologie ZIP-CNN est définie. Elle tient compte du système embarqué et du CNN à implémenter. Elle fournit à un concepteur des informations sur l'impact de l'exécution du CNN sur le système. Un modèle fourni quantitativement une estimation de la latence, de la consommation énergétique et de l'espace mémoire nécessaire à une inférence d'un CNN au sein d'une cible embarquée, quelle que soit la topologie du CNN. Ce modèle tient compte des éventuelles réductions algorithmiques telles que la distillation de connaissances, l'élagage ou la quantification. L'implémentation de CNN de l'état de l'art au sein de MCU a permis la validation expérimentale de la justesse de l'approche. L'utilisation des modèles développés durant ces travaux de thèse démocratise l'implémentation de CNN au sein de MCU, en guidant les concepteurs de systèmes embarqués. De plus, les résultats obtenus ouvrent une voie d'exploration pour appliquer les modèles développés à d'autres matériels cibles, comme les architectures multi-cœur ou les FPGA. Les résultats d'estimations sont également exploitables dans l'utilisation d'algorithmes de recherche de réseaux de neurones (NAS)<br>Digital systems used for the Internet of Things (IoT) and Embedded Systems have seen an increasing use in recent decades. Embedded systems based on Microcontroller Unit (MCU) solve various problems by collecting a lot of data. Today, about 250 billion MCU are in use. Projections in the coming years point to very strong growth. Artificial intelligence has seen a resurgence of interest in 2012. The use of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) has helped to solve many problems in computer vision or natural language processing. The implementation of CNN within embedded systems would greatly improve the exploitation of the collected data. However, the inference cost of a CNN makes their implementation within embedded systems challenging. This thesis focuses on exploring the solution space, in order to assist the implementation of CNN within embedded systems based on microcontrollers. For this purpose, the ZIP-CNN methodology is defined. It takes into account the embedded system and the CNN to be implemented. It provides an embedded designer with information regarding the impact of the CNN inference on the system. A designer can explore the impact of design choices, with the objective of respecting the constraints of the targeted application. A model is defined to quantitatively provide an estimation of the latency, the energy consumption and the memory space required to infer a CNN within an embedded target, whatever the topology of the CNN is. This model takes into account algorithmic reductions such as knowledge distillation, pruning or quantization. The implementation of state-of-the-art CNN within MCU verified the accuracy of the different estimations through an experimental process. This thesis democratize the implementation of CNN within MCU, assisting the designers of embedded systems. Moreover, the results open a way of exploration to apply the developed models to other target hardware, such as multi-core architectures or FPGA. The estimation results are also exploitable in the Neural Architecture Search (NAS)

Abstract:
The purpose of this project was to investigate if retention of polar compounds that are given to treat tuberculosis, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease and childhood leukemia could be obtained with HILIC separation. By varying different parameters for different types of columns the compounds were analyzed with the aim of finding guidelines for future method optimizations. To perform these analyzes three different columns were tested – ZIC-HILIC (silica-based with zwitterions), ZIC-pHILIC (polymer-based with zwitterions) and XBridge Amide (amide functions). The results were evaluated with selected quality measures. The parameters being varied were pH, temperature, flow rate, type of buffer and ionic strength. In addition, comparisons between isocratic and gradient separations were performed.   Over 1 000 analyzes were conducted in which retention of 16 of total 18 substances were successfully obtained with HILIC. The columns that generated the best results in terms of greatest number of identified compounds were ZIC-HILIC and XBridge Amide. ZIC-pHILIC offered a wide pH range but generally gave inferior chromatography. The influence of the different parameters on the results has not been investigated in sufficient scope. This means that no specific methods for the different drug groups can be reported.

Abstract:
Narratives recollected from popular sources such as podcast and websites often inspire my animations, paintings, and drawings. My work serves as a pictorial manifestation of everything from visualized passages in literature to eavesdropping. I zigzag from one source to another, combining found images that are loosely associated with one another. I combine them in a simulated collage in order to form an interesting composition. My purpose is to create a magical moment that pulls us away from the monotony of life. Storytelling not only allows one to see oneself and how one relates to others, but it also can provide a way for a person to cope with the unpredictable nature of existence. I am hoping that my art will provide opportunities for the viewer to expand his/her own unique personal narrative.

Abstract:
Neste trabalho, foram depositadas sobre lâminas de silício camadas de zeólitos cristalinos, formados por cadeias de átomos de zinco e bases conjugadas do imidazol (ZIF: Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework), com o objetivo de avaliar os processos de adsorção e absorção do CO2 e aplicar essas camadas como pré-concentradores para a detecção de CO2. Para a deposição das camadas ZIF através dos processos Spinning e casting, foi proposta uma solução química alternativa que emprega etanol como solvente em vez de metanol como reportado na literatura, a fim de proporcionar um processo menos tóxico ao ser humano e viabilizar o armazenamento de CO2 para aplicações envolvendo não apenas a sua detecção mas também a sua remoção do ambiente. As camadas ZIF foram depositadas utilizando uma solução obtida a partir da mistura de nitrato de zinco (4,3g) e 2-metilimidazol (9,7g) em etanol com diversas diluições com a finalidade de variar o pH na faixa de 7,2 a 8,2. Como resultado, verificou-se que as camadas obtidas apresentaram estrutura cristalina ZIF-8 ou ZIF-90 apenas na situação de pH próximo de 7. Além disso, as camadas depositadas através da técnica Spinning apresentaram baixa aderência sobre lâminas de silício e não foi possível depositar camadas com espessuras na faixa de micrômetros. Por outro lado, camadas repetitivas com aproximadamente 7, 5µm de espessura foram depositadas nas lâminas de silício através do processo casting em solução de pH = 7,2 (50ml). Após o recozimento dessas camadas na temperatura de 150 ºC por 48h em ambiente de nitrogênio ultrapuro, obtiveram-se distribuições repetitivas de nanocristais com tamanhos na faixa de 5 a 400nm e estrutura cristalina tipo ZIF-90. Das medidas de espectroscopia IR nas camadas de ZIF-90, observou-se que a banda localizada em 2337cm-1 intensifica com o aumento da pressão do CO2 e com o tempo em que a pressão é mantida. Além da banda em 2337cm-1, foi observada uma segunda banda em 2360cm-1, indicando dois diferentes tipos de resposta: (i) a banda em 2337cm-1 foi associada a uma porção substancial de moléculas de CO2 absorvidas dentro da camada junto aos contornos dos nanocristais ou dentro da sua estrutura cristalina, e (ii) a banda em 2360cm-1 foi atribuída à porção de moléculas de CO2 adsorvidas na superfície. Além disso, se o tempo de exposição da camada de ZIF-90 ao CO2, na pressão atmosférica for de pelomenos 2h, atinge-se sensibilidade de 100ppm ao CO2, considerando a leitura mínima de absorbância como sendo igual a 0,02 para 0,5 l/min de CO2 fluindo sobre a amostra.<br>In this work, layers of crystalline zeolites formed by chains of zinc atoms and conjugate bases of the imidazole (ZIF: zeolitic Imidazolate Framework) were deposited to evaluate the desorption and absorption of CO2 and apply these layers as pre-concentrators for CO2 detection. For the deposition of ZIF layers by means of spinning or casting, it was proposed an alternative chemical solution which employs ethanol as solvent instead of methanol, as reported in the literature, to provide a less toxic process to humans and allow one the CO2 storage applications involving not just detection but also its removal from the environment. The ZIF layers were deposited using a solution prepared from a mixture of zinc nitrate (4.3g) and 2-methylimidazole (9.7g) with several dilutions in ethanol to vary the pH in the range of 7.2 to 8.2. As a result, the crystalline structure of the layers was ZIF-8 or ZIF-90 only for pH next to 7. Furthermore, the layers deposited by spinning showed low adhesion to the silicon wafers and it was not possible to deposit layers for thickness in the micrometer range. Moreover, repetitive layers of approximately 7.5µm in thickness were deposited on the silicon wafers by casting for pH = 7.2 (50ml). After annealing these layers at a temperature of 150 ºC for 48h in ultra-pure nitrogen, it was obtained repetitive nanocrystals with size distributions in the range of 5 to 400 nm having a ZIF-90 crystal structure. From infrared (IR) measurements of the ZIF-90 layers, it was observed a band located at 2337cm-1 that increases with the increase of the CO2 pressure and with the exposure time to this pressure. In addition to the band at 2337cm-1, it was observed a second band at 2360cm-1 indicating two different responses: (i) the band at 2337cm-1 is related to a substantial portion of the CO2 molecules absorbed into the layer along the contours of the nanocrystals or within the crystal structure and (ii) the band at 2360cm-1 is related to the portion of CO2 molecules adsorbed on the surface. Also, if the ZIF-90 layer is exposed to CO2 at atmospheric pressure for at least 2h, a 100ppm sensitivity to CO2 is achieved considering the minimum absorbance as being 0.02 when 0.5 l/min of CO2 is flowing on the sample.

Les réseaux zéolithiques à base d'imidazolate (e.g. ZIF-8) sont des matériaux membranaires attractifs pour la séparation de gaz, sous réserve de pouvoir disposer de membranes de haute qualité, stables et reproductibles sur des supports industriels. Dans ce travail plusieurs stratégies ont été examinées pour développer des membranes nanocomposites à base de ZIF-8 confiné dans les macropores de supports céramiques tubulaires. Trois approches ont été comparées: i) croissance de germes, ii) croissance in situ et iii) conversion de ZnO. L'influence des paramètres de synthèse (formulation des solutions de précurseurs, température &amp; durée de réaction, type de support &amp; prétraitement…) sur les caractéristiques et performances des membranes a été étudiée. Le protocole optimum retenu repose sur la conversion solvothermale de couches minces de ZnO déposées par ALD sur les grains du support. Three approaches were compared: i) seeded growth, ii) in situ growth and iii) ZnO conversion. The influence of synthesis parameters (precursor solution formulation, reaction temperature &amp; duration, support type &amp; pre-treatment…) on membrane characteristics and performance were studied. The selected optimum protocol was based on the solvothermal conversion, using a 2-methylimidazole/methanol solution, of a ZnO thin layer uniformly deposited by Atomic Layer Deposition on the grains of a ceramic support. The nanocomposite ZIF-8/ZnO/α-Al2O3 membranes exhibited enhanced selectivities for the separation of H2-containing gas mixtures

Abstract. Malaysia and global stakeholders are committed to addressing climate change and the prevailing fuel crisis driven by non-renewable fossils. One promising solution is the photocatalytic reduction of methanol production (e-methanol). However, there are challenges with the utilization of ZIF-67 catalyst, and existing literature lacks sufficient data on its interaction with CO2 and H2 during adsorption and e-methanol production. To address this gap, we conducted DFT simulations using BIOVIA Materials Studio software to study ZIF-67 and compare it with the extensively studied ZIF-8. The Sorption module revealed Type I adsorption isotherms for both ZIF-67 and ZIF-8 in CO2 and e-methanol capture. Additionally, hydrogen molecules exhibited slow adsorption rates on both ZIFs. Notably, CO2 showed stronger chemisorption interaction with ZIF-67 at 298 K, indicating its potential for CO2 capture. Furthermore, the two-step reactions for e-methanol production on ZIF-67 demonstrated lower energy (-363.65 kJ/mol) compared to ZIF-8 (-312.17 kJ/mol), attributed to their different band gap energies (0.009 eV and 4.313 eV, respectively). These findings suggest ZIF-67's potential as a thermodynamically favored medium for e-methanol production.

In het TechYourfuture project ‘Samen werken aan Bèta Burgerschap’, dat plaats vond in de periode maart 2015 - maart 2020, gaven de onderzoekers samen met scholen en bedrijven concreet invulling aan burgerschapsonderwijs. De maatschappij en maatschappelijke vraagstukken worden steeds complexer. Politieke, technologische, economische, sociaal-culturele of ecologische aspecten van een vraagstuk zijn met elkaar verweven. Daarnaast spelen ook globale en lokale dimensies een rol. Er zijn alleen hierdoor al meerdere antwoorden mogelijk op een vraagstuk. Gedurende het project hebben basisschoolleerlingen (wereldwijde) maatschappelijk-technologische vraagstukken geanalyseerd, bediscussieerd en daar oplossingen voor bedacht. Leraren hebben in het project geleerd bèta burgerschap activiteiten te ontwikkelen, uit te voeren en te evalueren. In de kern gaat het er in Bèta Burgerschap om dat leerlingen door groepsgewijs vraagstukken op te lossen burgerschapscompetenties ontwikkelen. Het gaat hier om drie hoofdcompetenties: (1.) Collectieve argumentatievaardigheden, (2.) Attituden ten opzichte van maatschappelijk technologische vraagstukken en, (3.) Bèta- en techniekkennis. In het onderzoek ‘Samen werken aan Bèta Burgerschap’ is gekeken naar de ontwikkeling van deze drie hoofdcompetenties bij leerlingen die deelnamen aan Bèta Burgerschap activiteiten, alsook naar de effecten van de training en video-coaching die de leerkrachten in het project gevolgd hebben. De resultaten hiervan zijn in het onderzoeksrapport te lezen. Het onderzoek laat zien dat Bèta Burgerschap een aanpak is die leerlingen mogelijkheden biedt om te oefenen met groepsgewijs probleem oplossen als burgerschapscompetentie. Door op school met maatschappelijk-technologische vraagstukken aan de slag te gaan, doen leerlingen meer kennis op over deze vraagstukken en worden zij zich meer bewust van wat er in de wereld speelt en van hoe zij zich verhouden tot deze vraagstukken. Om met Bèta Burgerschap aan de slag te gaan en het netwerk denken en de discussie doeltreffend te begeleiden, blijkt het professionaliseringstraject van toegevoegde waarde te zijn.
