Abstract:

The present paper provides a brief look and an analysis of contemporary Latvian science fiction short stories. Three speculative fiction short story collections of the same series have been analysed: „Purpura karaļa galmā” (2013, Zvaigzne ABC), „Zilie jūras vērši” (2015, Zvaignze ABC) and to this day the latest collection of stories „Piena ceļa dvēseles” (2017, Zvaigzne ABC). These short stories are the result of a literary contest. All three books combined add up to fifty-two different stories of the speculative fiction genre. Some of the stories are the author’s literary debut. This article focuses on clearly defined science fiction stories, with the aim to make a precise comparison with science fiction stories published abroad or a comparison with global trends in the same period. To analyse all science fiction stories from all three story collections, specific guidelines were created. The title, the characters, the place and time, the topic and conflict as well as the originality and authenticity were all factors taken into account. Alongside with stating the facts, a comparison with global works and trends was made. The article ends with the author’s summary of the meaning of contemporary science fiction stories as well as their role in the field of Latvian literature.

Abstract:

ZusammenfassungDas retinale Pigmentepithel (RPE) ist eine hochpolarisierte Einzelschicht quaderförmiger Epithelzellen, die dicht mit Melanin gepackt sind. Sie liegt zwischen den lichtempfindlichen Außensegmenten der Photorezeptoren und der Aderhaut (Choroidea), spielt eine essenzielle Rolle bei der Entwicklung der Photorezeptoren und übernimmt wichtige Funktionen in Bezug auf Nährstoffversorgung und Erhaltung, im Retinalstoffwechsel und bei der Abschirmung von der Blutversorgung der Aderhaut. Die Photorezeptoren durchlaufen täglich einen Erneuerungsprozess, bei dem 10% der äußeren Segmente durch das retinale Pigmentepithel phagozytiert werden. Dies erfordert eine enge Wechselwirkung zwischen dem retinalen Pigmentepithel und der Retina. Daher kann eine Störung oder eine Verzögerung der Reifung des RPE erhebliche krankheitsauslösende Auswirkungen auf die Netzhaut haben, die zu einer Degeneration der Photorezeptoren führen. Auch die Alterung des RPE beeinträchtigt die unterstützenden Funktionen, was zum fortschreitenden Verlust von Photorezeptoren und Sehvermögen beiträgt. Wie viele okuläre Zelltypen bildet auch das RPE während seiner Entwicklung eine Primärzilie, eine auf Mikrotubuli basierende Ausstülpung der Zellmembran. Sie wird mit einigen wichtigen zellulären Prozessen und verschiedenen Signalwegen in Verbindung gebracht, die wichtige Funktionen in der Entwicklung unterschiedlicher Gewebe haben. Unter anderem ist der WNT-Signalweg (WNT: wingless-related integration site) essenziell für die Polarisation und Reifung des RPE und dadurch ausschlaggebend für die Funktion dieses Epithels. Der kanonische WNT-Signalweg ist zunächst für das Zellschicksal unabdingbar. Jedoch ist dessen Herunterregulieren, was von der Lokalisation von Inversin an der Basis des Ziliums und dadurch auch von der Funktionalität der ziliären BBS-Proteine (BBS: Bardet-Biedl-Syndrom) abhängt, unerlässlich für die Umstrukturierung des Zytoskeletts und den RPE-Phänotyp. Die Zilie und ihre regulatorische Funktion sind im RPE nur transient vertreten und bilden sich im Laufe der Entwicklung wieder zurück. Durch Eingriffe in den WNT-Signalweg können die Reifung und Polarisation des RPE in vitro manipuliert werden, sodass dessen Ausdifferenzierung gewährleistet und schlussendlich möglicherweise transplantierfähiges Gewebe hergestellt werden kann. Außerdem kann die Applikation von Substanzen, die in den Signalweg eingreifen, in vivo die Differenzierung des RPE verbessern und zu einer Verbesserung des Phänotyps führen, was die retinale Degeneration aufhalten kann. Diese Literaturrecherche soll die Wichtigkeit des retinalen Pigmentepithels und die Relevanz des Zusammenspiels mit dem WNT-Signalweg für die Entwicklung des Auges deutlich machen und einen Überblick über den derzeitigen Forschungsstand geben.

Abstract:

Lucrarea reprezintă o analiză a cercetărilor științifice efectuate în perioada anilor 2018 –2020 la cultura murului, orientată spre studierea adaptabilității soiurilor de mur în condiţiile climei schimbătoare. În lucrare sunt prezentate rezultatele cercetărilor şi observărilor efectuate asupra parcurgerii fazelor fenologice şi durata acestora, care este în corelaţie directă cu evoluţia şi intensitatea factorilor ecologici. În urma cercetărilor efectuate privind desfăşurarea fenofazelor pe parcursul perioadei de studiu a soiurilor de mur Darrow, Arapaho, Thornfree și Smoothstem, s-a stabilit că: desfacerea mugurilor s-a desfășurat între 27.03 și 20.04, cu durata de 26-58 de zile. Începutul înfloririi a avut loc în perioada 08.05–09.06, cu durata de 15-21 de zile. Maturarea fructelor s-a început în perioada 16.06– 23.07, cu durata de 33-47 de zile. La soiurile de mur studiate perioada de la începutul vegetaţiei până la maturarea fructelor variază între 86 și 100 de zile.

Abstract:

The quintessential Berlin artist Heinrich Zille, while remaining almost unrecognized outside Germany and certainly neglected in art historical circles on both sides of the Atlantic, nonetheless offers an important way to understand the modern city in late-nineteenth-century Europe. Zille, I argue, represents a proletarian modernism, a way of viewing and embracing a vibrant working-class domesticity—a milieu—that the Großstadt itself had created. In so doing, he offered intimate representations of Berlin for Berliners; he was decidedly grounded in the local and telescoped Berlin from its districts to its neighborhoods to its streets. What reemerged at this insider level, however, were glimpses of the wider world into which Berliners had been cast. Zille thus blurred distinctions between public and private spaces that marked the social boundaries of the city and drew from both the local and the global in ways that have gone unrecognized in his work. His perspective on the new capital, in other words, was accomplished by embracing the liminal, and he ultimately offered a kind of palatable social protest—a vision of reform without socialism—that was itself quite remarkable.

Abstract:

ZusammenfassungDie primäre ziliäre Dyskinesie (PCD) ist eine klinisch und genetisch heterogene hereditäre Erkrankung. Der komplexe Phänotyp der Erkrankung erklärt sich durch angeborene Dysfunktionen respiratorischer Flimmerhärchen (Zilien), embryonaler Zilien und von Spermienschwänzen. Aufgrund einer verminderten mukoziliären Reinigung der Atemwege entwickeln Betroffene rezidivierende Infektionen der oberen und unteren Atemwege. Embryonale Ziliendefekte sind dafür verantwortlich, dass die Hälfte der PCD-Patienten einen Situs inversus (Kartagener-Syndrom) aufgrund einer zufälligen Anordnung der Links/Rechts-Körperasymmetrie aufweist. Bei betroffenen Männern verursacht eine Fehlfunktion der Spermienschwänze oft eine verminderte Fertilität (∼60%). Bei klinischem Verdacht kann die Diagnose durch Elektronenmikroskopie, hoch auflösende Immunfluoreszenzmikroskopie, und/oder direktmikroskopische Evaluation des Zilienschlages bestätigt werden. Kürzlich konnten Mutationen bei rezessiv vererbter PCD in den Genen DNAI1, DNAH5, DNAH11 nachgewiesen werden. Selten finden sich RPGR-Mutationen bei Jungen mit X-chromosomal rezessiver PCD und Retinitis pigmentosa. Das aktuelle therapeutische Konzept wird vorgestellt.

Katika makala hii, mwandishi anaeleza maudhui mbalimbali yanayopatikana katika nyimbo za tohara za Wamasaaba nchini Uganda. Alifanya hivyo kwa kurejelea angalau mfano mmoja wa nyimbo hizo kwa kila maudhui. Mwandishi amepanga maudhui hayo kulingana na utaratibu wa utendaji wa matukio ya tohara. Kutokana na jambo hili, mwandishi ameangalia matukio mbalimbali katika utekelezaji wa tohara kwa sababu nyimbo hizo huambatana na matukio fulani. Kwa kufanya hivyo, mwandishi ametaja tukio na kutoa mfano wa wimbo unaoimbwa. Baada ya kutoa mfano wa wimbo, anauchanganua na kubainisha maudhui mbalimbali yaliyomo. Mwandishi anafanya hivyo hatua kwa hatua mpaka mwisho. Dhamira ya utafiti ni kueleza jinsi Wamasaaba walivyobobea katika utanzu huu wa sanaa. Hali kadhalika, madhumuni ya utafiti huu ni kueleza namna nyimbo za kiutamaduni zilivyo muhimu katika maisha ya binadamu, kufafanua athari za nyimbo za tohara kisaikolojia na kuonyesha nguvu za mawasiliano za nyimbo za kiutamaduni. Mkabala wa utafiti huu ulikuwa wa nyanjani. Kwa kutumia mkabala huu, mtafiti alizuru nyanjani na kukusanya nyimbo. Katika kazi yake, mtafiti alitumia mbinu ya uchunguzi shiriki. Kwa kutumia mbinu hii, mtafiti alifuatilia makundi ya watendaji na kushuhudia jinsi matukio ya tohara yanavyotekelezwa. Kulingana na aina ya utafiti, mtafiti hakuuliza watu maswali. Mtafiti alitumia kinasa sauti kurekodi nyimbo. Baada ya mchakato huo kukamilika, mtafiti alizichanganua nyimbo ambazo alizikusanya halafu akawasilisha matokeo ya utafiti wake. Nyimbo zilizokusanywa zilijumlisha zile za kupokea wageni, zile zinazoonyesha huzuni kwa mhusika, zile zinazodhihirisha furaha kwa mhusika, zile za kuonya mhusika nk. Mtafiti alianza uchanganuzi wa nyimbo kwa kuziandika kwenye karatasi. Baada ya kufanya hivyo, alizipanga kulingana na madhumuni ya utafiti. Alipomaliza kufanya hivyo, mtafiti alieleza maudhui mbalimbali kama yalivyojitokeza katika kila wimbo.

Abstract:

Trombocitoza reprezintă creşterea numărului de trombocite peste 500.000/mm³. Obiectiv. Obiectivul acestui studiu este de a evalua frecvenţa şi severitatea trombocitozei reactive la pacienţii pediatrici splenectomizaţi. Material şi metodă. Am realizat un studiu retrospectiv în care au fost incluşi 20 de pacienţi (4-16 ani) care au suferit o intervenţie de splenectomie în intervalul 2006-2015. Criteriile de includere în studiu au fost: pacienţi cu vârsta sub 18 ani, care au fost splenectomizaţi şi care au dezvoltat trombocitoză ulterior intervenţiei. Rezultate. În lotul studiat, 80% dintre pacienţii splenectomizaţi (16) au dezvoltat o formă de trombocitoză; în 4 cazuri formă severă (trombocite > 1milion/mm3), iar în 7 cazuri formă uşoară. Nu s-au observat diferenţe semnificative în repartiţia pe sexe a pacienţilor (9 de sex feminin şi 11 de sex masculin). La 13 dintre pacienţi trombocitoza s-a remis după 30 de zile şi doar în 3 dintre cazuri episodul a durat >360 de zile. Fenomene tromboti_ce s-au observat la un singur pacient din lotul studiat. Toţi pacienţii au beneficiat de măsuri de tromboprofilaxie şi hidratare, iar 2 cazuri au necesitat asociere terapeutică de Hidoxiuree. Concluzii. Studiul nostru relevă o frecvenţă crescută a trombocitozei după splenectomie (80%), cu un vârf maxim de incidenţă la 2-10 zile postchirurgical, trombocitoza fiind în general benignă şi cu remisie spontană; evenimente trombotice s-au semnalat într-un singur caz, iar trombocitoza severă a fost mai frecventă după splenectomia de cauză traumatică.

Abstract:

Prezentăm cazul unui nou-născut diagnosticat cu suferintă perinatală și injurie renală secundară, transpoziție de vase mari și debit sistemic scăzut, tratat cu prostaglandină, atrioseptostomie, urmate de operația de switch arterial. Postoperator, pacientul este oliguric și necesită hemodiafiltrare pentru 12 zile, după care funcția renală este restabilită. În evoluție, apare bloc atrioventricular (BAV) grad III, urmat de implantare de stimulator cardiac permanent, dar o altă complicație postoperatorie – chilotorax – duce la oprirea stimulării electrice, urmată de disfuncție cardiacă severă și, consecutiv, injurie renală recurentă și anurie. Se reinstituie hemodiafiltrarea pentru încă 7 zile, fără recuperarea funcției renale. Asfixia perinatală, malformația cardiacă cu debit sistemic scăzut, prostaglandina, atrioseptostomia, circulația extracoroporeală, tulburările de ritm, chilotoraxul, sepsisul, stopul cardiac sunt factori intricaţi care aduc injurie renală importantă. Asocierea lor scade major șansele de supraviețuire chiar dacă pacientul beneficiază de tratament suportiv și hemodiafiltrare precoce.

ZusammenfassungDas Bardet-Biedl-Syndrom (BBS) ist eine seltene, erblich bedingte Ziliopathie, bei der neben einer Netzhautdystrophie, meist in Form einer Stäbchen-Zapfen-Dystrophie (Retinitis pigmentosa, RP), zahlreiche weitere Symptome bestehen, vor allem Stammfettsucht, Polydaktylie, Nierenveränderungen und Lernbehinderung bzw. Intelligenzminderung. Mindestens 25 ursächliche Gene, die für Proteine mit wichtiger Rolle bei Entwicklung und Funktion primärer Zilien kodieren, sind bisher bekannt. Die Störung der mit zahlreichen Entwicklungssignalwegen assoziierten Zilien erklärt die in unterschiedlichen Organen auftretenden Symptome. Aufgrund der ursächlichen Beteiligung so vieler Gene ist das BBS eine Erkrankung, bei der Ärzte in besonderem Maße von neuen Methoden der molekulargenetischen Diagnostik profitieren: Durch Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) können alle krankheitsrelevanten Gene im Rahmen einer sogenannten „Panelanalyse“ parallel untersucht werden. Signifikante Genotyp-Phänotyp-Korrelationen hinsichtlich der Art der Netzhautbeteiligung bestehen nicht. Neben der klassischen autosomal-rezessiven Vererbung wurden oligogene oder triallelische Vererbungsformen, bei denen die Erkrankung aus einem kombinierten Effekt verschiedener Allele in mehreren Genen resultiert, beschrieben. Nach heutigem Kenntnisstand, der zunehmend aus großen NGS-Studien gespeist wird, spielen Letztere aber keine (wesentliche) Rolle. Mangels kausaler Therapieansätze beschränkt sich die augenärztliche Behandlung auf eine umfassende Rehabilitation mit vergrößernden Sehhilfen sowie die Versorgung mit Langstock und dem Training von lebenspraktischen Fähigkeiten.

Abstract:

Molasses, which is a traditional food substance obtained by boiling the fruit with local procedures and is abundantly eaten by Turkish people, are commonly produced from grapes. Zile, which is county of Tokat city placed in Central Black Sea region, is famous with molasses in Turkey. A special soil called as molasses soil containing CaO is added into to molasses in order to resolve acidification during production process. The purpose of this study is to determine the element concentration levels in grabe molasses soil samples collected from Zile by using energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF). For this purpose, thirty-eight elements and eleven oxides were detected in molasses soil samples. The average concentrations of six major oxides (MgO, Al2O3, SiO2, K2O, CaO and Fe2O3) were found as 1.58%, 7.96%, 17.01%, 1.01%, 30.52% and 8.72%, respectively. Also, the average concentrations of three minor (Na2O, P2O5 ,TiO2) and two trace (SO3, MnO) oxides were found as 0.96%, 0.12%, 0.95% and 0.04%, 0.1%, respectively.

Abstract:

În lucrare sunt prezentate rezultatele cercetărilor efectuate referitor la fazele fenologice de dezvoltare a plantelor de măceș la soiurile: Vitaminnîi VNIVI, Voronțovschi în perioada anilor 2016–2018. În urma cercetărilor s-a stabilit că desfacerea mugurilor s-a produs între 01.04 și 10.04, înflorirea – între 05.05 și 15.05, maturarea fructelor – între 10.07 și 18.07. Durata medie dintre fazele de dezmugurire şi înflorire a atins 36-37 de zile, iar dintre fazele de înflorire şi maturare a fructelor aceasta a variat între 61 și 64 de zile. Recolta maximă de 7,5 t/ha a fost obţinută în anul 2016 la soiul Vitaminnîi VNIVI, iar la soiul Voronțovschi II recolta maximă de 7,0 t/ha a fost obţinută în anul 2018. Masa medie a fructului de măceş la soiurile studiate a variat între 0,9 și 1,1 g. Recolta medie a fructelor de măceş la soiurile studiate a variat între 5,7 t/ha (soiul Voronțovschi II) şi 6,2 t/ha (soiul Vitaminnîi).

O objetivo geral foi identificar os elementos que pressionam os gestores de uma empresa de logística de transporte no município de Betim. O instrumento para coleta de dados da pesquisa foi parte do questionário aderente ao modelo explicativo de estresse em gestores (MTEG) desenvolvido por Zille (2005). A metodologia adotada foi quantitativa com aplicação de questionário. Como resultado foi possível perceber sintomas significativos de estresse nos gerentes.

Abstract:

Sunt prezentate două cazuri de sindrom nefrotic (SN) indus de medicamente cu nefrotoxicitate la nivel tubular, cu evoluţie diferită în contextul maladiilor incriminate etiologic. Fetiţă în vârstă de 5 luni, internată cu SN (dovedit clinic şi biologic) şi insuficienţă renală acută, după o spitalizare în alt servici pentru bronhopneumonie. Fetiţa a fost tratată cu ceftriaxonă şi gentamicină 12 zile. Suspiciunea de SN congenital a fost înlăturată de evidenţierea necrozei tubulare renale în fază de recuperare (biopsie renală). Evoluţia a fost favorabilă în 7 zile sub dializă peritoneală. Adolescentă de 16 ani cu boală Basedow tratată de 3 ani cu carbimazol. S-a prezentat cu sindrom nefrotic care nu a fost influenţat de corticoterapie. Examenul histopatologic a evidenţiat necroză tubulară toxică, fibroză interstiţială, absenţa leziunilor glomerulare. A fost sistat tratamentul nefrotoxic, s-a practicat tiroidectomie după care edemele s-au redus, dar funcţia renală a continuat să se deprecieze, în condiţiile terapiei nefrotoxice administrată timp de 3 ani. Concluzii. Necroza tubulară renală exprimată clinic şi biologic prin sindrom nefrotic, însoţit de insuficienţă renală este o situaţie rară la copil; gentamicina şi carbimazolul pot fi incriminate etiologic. Suferinţa renală poate fi ameliorată sau nu prin înlăturarea medicamentului cauzal. Eşecul terapeutic s-a corelat cu durata agresiunii medicamentoase şi evoluţia unor comorbidităţi.
