Located in the south of the Moroccan Sahara, the Adrar Souttouf Massif is the northern continuation of the Mauritanides at the western margin of the West African Craton. Were tested a total of 5 sands: zirkon, ŠH22, chromite, olivine and dunite. Molding compounds were tested for thermal capacity, thermal conductivity and heat accumulation. The highest heat capacity was achieved in dunite sand. The largest heat accumulation had mixture with chromite sand and the best thermal conductivity was found in a mixture with olivine sand.

Cette thèse présente les résultats d’une étude de la mobilité de l’hydrogène dans l’andradite entre 400 et 700°C et dans le zircon entre 800 et 1100°C. Contrairement à ce qui est généralement observé dans ce type d’expériences, il n’a pas été possible de remplacer par du deutérium tous les hydrogènes présent dans la structure cristalline sous la forme de défauts ponctuels. A la fin de l’échange 15% à 35% des H dans l’andradite et 25% à 40% des H dans le zircon restent présent. Cependant, un état d’équilibre étant atteint, nous avons pu déterminer les lois de diffusion relative à ces échanges.

The techniques used in the analysis of the material include scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy and wavelength dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS and WDS), infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The differences in morphology of the zirconia (ZrO2) crystals observed in the PDZ are related to the thermal history of the material.

Zircon (ZrSiO4) is a durable mineral found in most igneous rocks; it is highly retentive of the trace element concentrations it acquires at crystallisation, and its high initial concentrations of U and Th relative to Pb make it the most important mineral for radiometric dating. Theoretical models of thermoluminescence (TL) and some physical properties of zircons are presented. Descriptions of the TL equipment and the experimental methods used, including the etching techniques, are given. Several methods of analysing the TL glow curves are described and some values of kinetics parameters are obtained.
