Abstract:
This work deals with the problem of accurately rendering mirror reflections on curved surfaces in real-time. While planar mirrors do not pose a problem in this area, non-planar surfaces are nowadays rendered mostly using environment mapping, which is a method of approximating the reflections well enough for the human eye. However, this approach may not be suitable for applications such as CAD systems. Accurate mirror reflections can be rendered with ray tracing methods, but not in real-time and therefore without offering interactivity. This work examines existing approaches to the problem and proposes a new algorithm for computing accurate mirror reflections in real-time using accelerated searching for intersections with depth profile stored in cubemap textures. This algorithm has been implemented using OpenGL and tested on different platforms.

Abstract:
During the Second World War France was divided into occupied and unoccupied zone. The unoccupied zone was ruled by autonomous regime with official seat in the town of Vichy. Representatives of the Vichist regime collaborated with the Nazis and carried out anti-Jewish policy. After the war General de Gaulle, in order to establish unity, declared the Vichist regime invalid. After the French society was cleared of the war collaborators the Vichy episode was erased from the history of France At the beginning of the seventies in France began to appear tendencies to search the real course of the war occupation period. Shooting the film Le Chagrin et la Pitié or editing the French translation of Rober Paxton's book La France de Vichy may serve as examples. Since the early nineties French intellectuals tried to persuade political representatives to recognize officially the responsibility of France for Vichy crimes. This act was done by President Jacques Chirac in 1995. Simultaneously with discussions on the Vichist past a struggle for fair punishment of war collaborators for crimes against humanity was going on in the French society. Paul Touvier, former militiamen, was sentenced in 1994 and Maurice Papon, former official of the Vichist regime, in 1998.

Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá možnostmi kvantitativního zobrazování ve skenovacím (transmisním) elektronovém mikroskopu (S|T|EM) společně s jejich korelativní aplikací. Práce začíná popisem metody kvantitativního STEM (qSTEM), kde lze stanovenou lokální tloušťku vzorku dát do spojitosti s ozářenou dávkou, a vytvořit tak studii úbytku hmoty. Tato metoda byla použita při studiu ultratenkých řezů zalévací epoxidové pryskyřice za různých podmínek (stáří, teplota, kontrastování, čištění pomocí plazmy, pokrytí uhlíkem, proud ve svazku). V rámci této části jsou diskutovány a demonstrovány možnosti kalibračního procesu detektoru, nezbytné pozadí Monte Carlo simulací elektronového rozptylu a dosažitelná přesnost metody. Navíc jsou v práci prezentovány korelativní aplikace konvenčních a komerčně dostupných kvantitativních technik katodoluminiscence (CL) a rentgenové energiově disperzní spektroskopie (EDX) spolu s vysokorozlišovacími obrazy vytvořenými pomocí sekundárních a prošlých elektronů.

Abstract:
This master thesis is about current operational amplifiers and mainly about their internal structures and possible modifications of these structures. The Current operational amplifier consists of several elementary blocks and these blocks are shortly described and used in internal structures of proposed operational amplifiers. Basic elementary blocks of the current operational amplifier are current mirror, diferentional amplifier, current source, transimpedation amplifier and additional elements of a circuit. In this thesis, several elementary structures of the operational amplifiers are introduced. Each amplifier passed through the analysis of the circuit in software MicroCap 9.0. In this software is done the simple DC analysis of the internal structure of the current operational amplifier in connection with a feedback. The solution was focused on bipolar and unipolar technology for each connection. I deal with a method of feedback connection to the operational amplifier and explore real characteristic of the appropriate amplifier in the designed feedback. In principle this design has important influence to the resulting properties of the circuit. Within the analysis of the circuits have been found, how each current operational amplifier works in a defined current range. Every type of surveyed amplifier is closely described, the internal structure is depicted and graph of current transmission of amplifier is shown. At the end of this thesis the amplifiers are compared and there are introduced their advantages and disadvantages.

Abstract:
T-intersections are one of the most common places where collisions happen. An intelligent traffic mirror is one the possible solutions to reduce the accident rate. The mirror detects the situation around the intersection, process the data and provides the driver with an information, whether the situation is safe and the driver can enter the junction safely. The aim of the thesis is a feasibility study of reliable detection of non-stationary objects based on cameras. The core of the intended product – the detection algorithm – detected the object on short distance from the camera reliably but as the distance was growing, the detection quality degraded. One of the possible solutions to achieve better detection results on longer distances may be achieved by using a camera with greater zoom. Based on the example improvement proposal, the feasibility of the solution based on optical methods was finally confirmed.

Abstract:
The dissertation thesis deals with the synthesis and design of active frequency filters using current (CC) and voltage (VC) conveyors, or current active elements CMI (Current Mirror and Inverter), MCMI (Multi-output CMI) and PCA (Programmable Current Amplifier). As introduction, these active elements are described as suitable for the design of the circuits working in the voltage-, current,- ,and mixed-mode, or in pure current-mode speaking about the current active elements. The new frequency filter structures presented in this thesis using the above mentioned active elements were designed by the generalized autonomous circuit method, transformation cells and signal flow-graph theory. The generalized autonomous circuit method is based on full admittance network to which generalized active elements are connected. The described admittance networks can be used for other active elements. The next method is based on the transformation cells that subsequently are used for the design of synthetic elements with higher-order imittance. Original conditions for the design of such blocks are given that lead to maximal simplicity of the final structure with minimal number of passive and active elements. For effective usage of another method utilizing signal flow-graphs, new reduced graphs of chosen active elements are given. Their usage leads to direct function blocks synthesis with required properties. The functionality and behavior of chosen circuit solutions have been verified by analyses in simulation programs. The active elements were simulated by the universal current conveyor (UCC) or universal voltage conveyors (UVC) that were designed at the FEEC, BUT in cooperation with AMI Semiconductor Design Centre Brno with the CMOS 0.35 m technology. These active elements have been also used for the realization of chosen filter structures. The experimental measurements were performed in the in the frequency range 10 KHz to 100 MHz.

Self-recognition is commonlly taken as a higher ability and it was previously considered to be exclusive to spieces who are cognitively more capable, as humans or apes. However during years other animal species with no expectancy of this ability were tested, such as elephants and cetaceans, and even there the signs of self-recognition were found. The most common test for self-recognition is the mark test. The animal is marked with none-olfactoric and none-tactile mark somewhere on the part of its body which can not be seen without mirror. If the subject recognizes itself in the mirror, it will try to wipe out the mark of its body with help of the mirror image. In our experiment we used great tit (Parus major) as a testing species and three types of mirror tests were carried our. Except the fact that great tits are able to succesfully learn to use the mirror image to search hidden food, we found no evidence of self-recognition in mark test. Therefore we believe that this passerine species is not capable of this type of self-recognition.

The reflection of childhood in Baroque miracles This Master's thesis aims to capture the reflection of childhood in miraculously answered prayers of the Baroque era. It works with a representative sample of cases, which was collected from several diverse Czech and Moravian pilgrimage sites (Karlov in Prague, Church of Our Lady Victorious with the statue of Infant Jesus of Prague, Hájek, Sázava, Chlum sv. Máří, Chrudim, Dobruška, Svatý Kopeček u Olomouce, and Křtiny). The sample thus comprises children coming from various environments and social strata. The records referring to miraculous answers to prayer are taken from manuscripts as well as from printed books of the period related to religious pilgrimages. The individual chapters outline the main aspects of Baroque-era children's lives found therein. The thesis first analyses issues associated with the birth of new life - the infertility of married couples, miscarriages, or complications during pregnancy, giving birth and childbed. A significant part of the thesis is given over to childhood illnesses - an extremely serious issue of the early modern era. Attention is also paid to diverse accidents and injuries of children. In addition, matters concerning adolescent and adult offspring are presented (the world of work duties, various wrongdoings, problems...

Abstract:
This paper is focused on the analysis of women and the way, how they construct their experience of the holocaust. Three Czech women`s autobiographical texts are explored. The main analytical concern is gender as a concept which is negotiated within the categories of "power/lessness" and "survival strategy". The research is based on the modified usage of the method of narrative analysis which is originally designed for oral historical interviews. The aim of the paper is to break the "typical woman holocaust testimonial" and to explore different ways of construction of women`s identity as authors and at the same time the main characters of the memoirs. The author argues that gender order which the women participate on and which they also actively construct determines the topics being articulated in memoirs and how the women`s experience is being interpreted. The main emphasize is put on epistemological issues of autobiographical texts analyses and the concepts concerning the holocaust memory. Broad holocaust usage is used since the women as the authors of the memoirs apply the holocaust experience also on their other "life cycle stages". The whole paper is primarily based on sociological and historiographical context. Key words: gender, order, holocaust, identity, politics of memory, power, survival strategy,...

Abstract:
in English A beautiful and healthy body now indicates a happy and contented life, and that is why our society is so obsessed by it. It was transformed into a commercial object, and the borders to which we can manipulate with it are pushed even further. At the same time, many people realize the necessity of cooperation with the body in order to reach a physical and mental health. Voices are heard calling for prevention of exploitation of human bodies and against the lowering of human dignity. We can see showing up different kinds of oriental philosophy, psychosomatic medicine or psychoterapeutic approaches targeted at the body, which are trying to outweigh the trends treating the body as a mere commodity. In spite of those efforts, the number of people with impaired perception and experiencing of their own body is still growing. The most frequent and most discussed are the eating disorders, which endanger seriously all aspects of a person's life. Most of the disorders will develop during adolescence, and that is why in my research I focused on the mapping of corporal experience of young people. In my work I employed the grounded theory method, or a qualitative research. The main research method used is semi-structured interview. The theoretical part consists of a philosophical historical and social...

In the beginning is important to mention close personal interest to write a final thesis on such a difficult but rewording subject based on direct connection with jewish community, their traditions and culture. The thesis is formulated in two parts. The First part reflects brief history of Jews ( Jews in general but also including Jews from Romania). The Second part is focused on Romanian Jewish writers and their literary contribution mainly during Second World War era, their difficulties, inrigues and torture. In this thesis I attempt to examine the right association of Romanian intellectuals between First World War (Jews received status of human rights which led to cultural and literature re-born time) and Second World War when the country was an ally and satelite of Nazi Germany. The thesis will focus on the impact of the ideas behind Hitler's power on Romanian society and in particular on its intellectuals.

Abstract:
The dissertation thesis is focused on the culture of the ethnic group Minangkabau, whose home territory is situated in the present-day Indonesian province of West Sumatra, yet whose diaspora, reaching its highest density in the islands of Sumatra and Java, recently covers the whole of the Indonesian archipelago, overlapping to the neighbouring countries of Malaysia, Singapore, and beyond. In the thesis, Minangkabau culture is viewed through the looking glass of the Minang folk theatre randai, which traces its origins to the iniciation of young Minang males, yet which has with time transformed into an important means of symbolic expression of the Minang identity. Selected randai plays recorded by the author in their authentic social context are used to provide examples for the explanation of some of the key concepts that form the core of Minang culture, while socio-historical conditions are considered for the influence they have had upon the shaping of these concepts to their present form. Topics that are subject to explanation include the following: the social position and the key social roles performed by women in the context of a system of social organization based on the principals of matrilineal kinship, relative to the position and roles of men; basic principals of Minang ethnopsychology as source of...

The main focus of the dissertation is 15th century Italian court dance, which was one of the prime manifestations of the emerging aristocratic society all across renaissance Europe. The dissertation draws on a detailed research into original dance notations and works on dance theory of dance masters Domenico da Piacenza, Antonio Cornazana and Guglielmo Ebreo/Giovanni Ambrosio and contains first-time Czech translations of important parts of these works. The dissertation contains a reconstruction of one such dance choreography. A certain journey into related fields and later historical periods are chapters on the aesthetic of movement (required posture, position of the head, facial expression, hand gestures etc.) and period etiquette (acceptance of social hierarchy in dance and beyond, ways of showing respect and greetings, asking to dance and...

Abstract:
Diploma thesis called Historical Films of Andrei Tarkovsky as the mirror of the thence Times deals with the first historical films of Andrej Tarkovsky: Ivan's Childhood and Andrei Rublev. Tarkovsky was one of the most influential directors of the artfilms in SSSR as well as in the world. His films are characterized by the subjectivity of the fimlmaker's perspective on Russia and SSSR. Even though his films were targeted at the Soviet viewer, it was difficult even for them to understand them fully. Tarkovsky was perceived as a semi-illegal author, even tough he kept proclaiming that he is a Soviet filmmaker without any intention to draw a political picture of the SSSR. Nonetheless, his films were almost banned for some time. Tarkovsky's s perspective of the Russian and Soviet history was in contrast with the thence official ideology. His goal was to reunite with the cultural tradition and recover the spiritual bridge with one's past. He tried to do it through the internal life of individuals. His films received a lot of awards abroad, however none in his home country. His best known film of Andrei Rublev was released five years after it was finished and three years after being shown at Cannes. Abstract:
This paper presents 12 individual case studies representing three different psychiatric diagnoses: depression, schizophrenia, and phobia. The collected data suggests that aspects of each one of the disorders covered are somehow reflected in the dreams and dream existence of the patients. Based on repeated in-depth interviews (n=48) with each of the participants (n=12), it is clear that dream content often repeats in each individual. Further phenomenological and qualitative content analysis revealed repetition of characteristic dream content (feelings, phenomenon, and existentials) in each of the three groups. While more research is needed, the results suggest dream content could be a significant tool in establishing a diagnosis and in aiding the psycho-therapeutic process.

Abstract:
If we survey the development of political thought in Islam we would come to know that Muslim scholars. during the past hundred years. have developed new theories in the tield of Islamic political thought in an unprecedented manner. Yet some of them have not been successful in developing theories fit for running the affairs of their societies. The Iranian Islamic Revolution of 1979 resulted in the replacement of the monarchy by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The inspiration for the new government came from Great Ayatollah Seyyed Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini. who first began formulating his concept of an Islamic government in the early 1970s. while in exile in the Shi 'a Islam learning and pilgrimage center ofNajaf in Iraq. Thus, it is necessary to delve into his ideas and examine his political thought for various reasons: I. Imam Khomeini's thought laid the foundation of a great movement i.e .. the Islamic Revolution in Iran: with the culmination of the Islamic Revolution in Iran the oppressed peoples of the world, in general. and the Iranians. in particular. have been eagerly \Vaiting to reap the fruits of the movement. hence, it should be studied thoroughly; 3 moreover. in order to keep the record of such a movement in the history, it is necessary to work out the ideas of a 1'vfujtahid who. in the light of the...

Abstract:
The basic aim of the thesis is to investigate whether the Romans of the East (Byzantines) during the 6th to the 8th centuries were interested in the Latin west and the imperial rule over it. In the first part of the work, the various discourses concerning the origins of the Justinianic conquest or reconquest of Africa and Italy articulated in the contemporary sources are identified and evaluated; the only one which cannot be shown or supposed to have been officially articulated is the discourse of a source of Pseudo-Zachariah Scholasticus which makes African and maybe also Italian exulants complaining in the imperial court about the local rulers responsible for the Vandal and Gothic wars. After some other preliminary studies (e.g. concerning the so-called problem of Theodericʼs constitutional position), it is concluded that the emperor Justinian was not interested in an ideologically founded restoration of the empire, but made the western wars because of his contacts with western aristocrats. In the second part of the thesis, the presentation of the Justinianic western wars and western events or realities in the works of the Byzantine historians from Marcellinus Comes and Procopius to Theophylactus Simocatta (the 6th to the early 7th centuries) is investigated and an attempt is made to explore...

Abstract:
The thesis deals with conversion to Judaism from the point of view of the Jewish oral tradition and history. First part is focused on the general issue of conversions, laws and regulations of the Jewish law (Halakha) dealing with conversions, and views held by scholars belonging to the Talmudic period. Chronologically ordered sections follow, containing examples of conversions of both individuals and ethnic groups (Samaritans) of the Biblical period with an emphasis on their presence in written oral tradition, in Mishna, Gemarah and midrashes. Examples of converts of the Hellenic and Roman periods are presented in a similar fashion. This part is concluded with a chapter on converts in the Sassanid Babylonia. The thesis then presents examples of conversions from the late Hellenic period and early Middle Ages, including peripheral parts of the then know world - northern Africa, Ethiopia, Yemen and the Khazar Khaganate in the steppes along the Volga river. The last part of the thesis consists of examples of individual conversions to Judaism in the Europe of Middle Ages and the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Abstract:
This work is the structured indictment of mediality in us. It argues that media do not satisfy us, nor we are controlled by them. We are much rather satisfied and at the same time controlled by the mediality inside ourselves. Mediality phenomenon is postulated here in the spirit of Jean Baudrillard's theory, not as a mediator of the relations between people, but as their killer. The expansion of digital media doesn't bring us closer to others, but it separates others from us in time and space. The others are transmitted to us only in the form of selected mosaic of images. This alienation is the result of a desire for our own particular worlds, not the conspiracy of power. Efficiency, speed, focus on result and positive thinking are the values that define the orientation of media development. The result is not imitation, but perfection. That's why we use the media. It lures us by the promise of immortality, but in conclusion it only creates a lifeless sign from us. Every human desire is ambivalent, and the desire to create our own post-mortem images can become in its hypertrophy the fatal fulfilment of the death instinct.

Abstract:
The thesis is based on a field research carried out on Java primarily in communities gathered around the ritual dance called jathilan - an ancient, exorcistic and unique trance dance which operates with a binary opposition of good and bad forces. The aim is to extend the field of knowledge about this ritual and to enrich the existing sources of the insight into the issue of participation in jathilan and related factors. Interviews with research participants bring unique testimonies that are set into the context of the Javanese rural community. The central topic of the study is the motivation and the experience of the participants of jathilan with emphasis on the central motif of jathilan - trance and kesurupan (obsession). Great space is also devoted to the religious dimension of the jatihlan and its reflection by the participants themselves. The thesis approaches this phenomenon from three perspectives: 1) As a way to strengthen local communities, popular culture and regional cultural identity. 2) As a manifestation of religious syncretism on Java and how this syncretism is reflected by the main actors in Jathilan. 3) As a dynamic social, artistic and religious phenomenon under transformative conditions. All these perspectives are examined by the optics of jathilan participants, analyzed and set...
