Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
The pore structure of rocks can affect fluid migration and the remaining hydrocarbon distribution. To understand the impacts of the base-level cycle on the pore structure of mouth bar sand bodies in a continental rift lacustrine basin, the pore structure of the mouth bar sand bodies in the ZVC (ZV4 + ZV5) of the Guan195 area was studied using pressure-controlled mercury injection (PMI), casting sheet image and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that three types of pores exist in ZVC, including intergranular pores, dissolution pores, and micro fractures. The porosity is generally between 1.57% and 44.6%, with a mean value of 19.05%. The permeability is between 0.06 μm2 and 3611 μm2, with a mean value of 137.56 μm2. The pore structure heterogeneity of a single mouth bar sand body in the early stage of the falling period of short-term base-level is stronger than that in the late stage. During the falling process of the middle-term base level, the pore structure heterogeneity of a late single mouth bar sand body is weaker than that of an early single mouth bar sand body. In the long-term base-level cycle, the pore structure heterogeneity of mouth bar sand bodies becomes weaker with the falling of the base-level.

Abstract:
This paper examines the characteristics of the zero voltage switching (ZVS) and zero voltage transition (ZVT) soft-switching applied in the 3-phase current fed dual active bridge (3P-CFDAB) converter, which combines the advantages of the dual active bridge (DAB) converter and current-fed full bridge (CFFB) converter. When an active clamp circuit is added to the CFFB converter, the circuit configuration of the DAB converter is shown in part of the entire circuit. This allows the use of pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques which combine the PWM techniques of both the DAB converter and CFFB converter. The proposed converter performs both duty and phase control at the same time in order to reduce the circulating current and ripple current of the output capacitor, which are the disadvantages of the CFFB converter and DAB converter. In addition, the ZVS and ZVT soft switching areas were analyzed by means of the phase current and leakage inductor current in each transformers. To verify the principle and feasibility of the proposed operation techniques, a simulation and experiment were implemented with the 3P-CFDAB.

Abstract:
This paper proposes an improved design to calculate the snubber auxiliary elements of ZVT DC-DC PWM converters with snubber assisted auxiliary switch. The proposed improved design guidelines are based on the reduction of the conduction losses through the auxiliary circuit. It is accomplished by the unique location of the turn-off snubber capacitor, which is shared by both active switches. By means of this improved design guidelines the converter efficiency can be increased. An efficiency comparative analysis is carried out and the experimental results, obtained from 1 kW, 100 kHz laboratory prototypes, show a relevant improvement in converter efficiency compared to the original converter design. In addition, experimental results also confirm that with the improved design the ZVT PWM converters with snubber assisted auxiliary switch can be competitive with ZVT PWM converters with constant auxiliary voltage source (True PWM ZVS pole).

Abstract:
Zeolites are hydrated crystalline aluminosilicate minerals of natural occurrence, structured in rigid third dimension net that can be used as slow release plant-nutrient source. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of plant growth substrate under zeolite application, enriched with N, P and K, on dry matter yield and on nutrient contents in consecutive crops of lettuce, tomato, rice, and andropogon grass. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, with 3 kg pots with an inert substrate, evaluated in a randomized block design with three replications. Treatments consisted of four types of enrichment of concentrated natural zeolite: concentrated zeolite (Z) only, zeolite + KNO3 (ZNK), zeolite + K2HPO4 (ZPK) and zeolite + H3PO4 + apatite (ZP), and a control grown in substrate fertilized with a zeolite-free nutrient solution. Four levels of enriched zeolite were tested: 20, 40, 80, and 160 g/pot. Four successive crops were grown on the same substrate in each pot: lettuce, tomato, rice, and andropogon grass. Results indicated that N, P and K enriched zeolite was an adequate slow-release nutrient source for plants. The total dry matter production of above-ground biomass of four successive crops followed a descending order: ZP > ZPK > ZNK > Z.

It will be shown that for z = (z1,…,zn) ∈ (ℂ*)n, Gn(z) is irreducible if and only if z1k⋯znk ≠ 1. Abstract:
This study presents an improved zero voltage switching (ZVS) boost converter with an active snubber cell providing soft switched operation for all semiconductors. The active snubber cell reduces the reverse recovery loss of the boost diode and also provides the zero voltage transition (ZVT) Turn-on and ZVS Turn-off for the boost switch. The zero current switching (ZCS) Turn-on and ZVS Turn-off for the snubber switch is also achieved. All diodes in the converter can be operated with soft switching (SS). In the snubber cell, SS energy can be transfered effectively to the output by the use of a snubber inductor and a capacitor. This energy transfer allows the use of additional parallel connected capacitor to the boost switch to provide ZVS turning off. There is no additional voltage and current stress on the boost switch and boost diode. The voltage stress of the snubber switch is also limited by the output voltage and the current stress of the snubber switch is reduced by the energy transfer to the output. SS operating of the semiconductors is maintained at very wide load ranges. The operation of the proposed converter is presented with a detailed steady state analysis. The predicted theoretical analysis is validated by a prototype with 500[Formula: see text]W output power and 100[Formula: see text]kHz operating frequency. The measured maximum efficiency values are obtained as approximately 97% and 85.4% at full load and 10% load conditions, respectively.

Abstract:
The degradation of iprodione (IPR), a once frequently used but recently banned dicarboximide fungicide, by UV-C light-, zero-valent iron- (ZVI), and zero-valent aluminium (ZVA)-activated persulfate (PS) oxidation processes was comparatively studied in distilled (pure) water (DW) and simulated, tertiary treated urban wastewater (SWW). The performance of PS-activated oxidation processes was examined by following IPR (2–10 mg/L) removal, PS (0.01–1.00 mM) consumption, metal ion release (for the two heterogeneous catalytic oxidation processes), dissolved organic carbon (DOC) removal as well as hydroxylated aromatic and low molecular weight aliphatic degradation products. The effect of pH and PS concentrations on IPR removal was examined in DW. While the experiments in DW highlighted the superior performance of UV-C/PS treatment (with 78% DOC removal after 120 min at pH = 6.2), the performance of UV-C/PS treatment decreased sharply (to 24% DOC removal after 120 min at pH = 6.8) in the complex wastewater matrix (in SWW). Complete IPR (in 20 min) and 40% DOC (in 120 min) removals were obtained with ZVI/PS treatment (1 g/L ZVI, 1.5 mM PS, pH = 3.0), which was the most effective oxidation process in SWW. The treatment performance was strongly influenced by the SWW constituents, and UV-C/PS treatment appeared to be the most sensitive to it.

Abstract:
Input shaping has been demonstrated to be a simple method of reducing vibration in many types of controlled machines. The method is implemented by convolving a command signal with an impulse sequence of input shaper to produce a shaped input that is then used to command the system. Designing the input shaper involves determining the amplitudes and timing of the impulses such that the resulting shaped commands lead to desired levels of vibration reduction. Up to now, to the best knowledge of the authors, it is known only few special types of input shapers (ZV, ZVD, ZVDk, EI, SI,...). This paper presents two general approaches for parametrization of all three impulse zero vibration input shapers.

Abstract:
The zero-valent iron (ZVI) particles were synthesized by the aqueous phase reduction, and the tapping mode image of atomic force microscope (AFM) showed that the diameter of the ZVI particles was in the range of 90 nm - 400 nm. By comparison of the debromination of BDE-47 by sunlight, ZVI, ZVI impregnated activated carbon (ZVI/AC) and ZVI impregnated ion exchange resin (ZVI/IER), the debromination effect was found to descend in the following order: ZVI/IER > ZVI/AC > ZVI > sunlight. Second order and first order kinetic models were used for the fitting of the debromination data of BDE-47. Results show that the debromination data of BDE-47 by the sunlight, ZVI, ZVI/AC and ZVI/IER in the current study are generally best described by the pseudo first order equation. Meanwhile, the debromination data of BDE-47 by the ZVI and ZVI/IER can also be described by the pseudo second order equation.

Abstract:
Zero-valent iron (ZVI) application in groundwater remediation is limited by its vulnerability to passivation, which significantly decreases its surface reactivity. Both biological and chemical processes can potentially passivate ZVI, although the understanding of biological passivation is limited. This study was conducted in bench-scale reactors packed with fresh ZVI or ZVI pre-exposed to nitrate (NO3−) and in the presence or absence of a denitrifying bacterial enrichment (DNBE). The first-order rate coefficients (k) for NO3− reduction by ZVI in the presence and absence of DNBE were 0.20 and 0.09 s−1, respectively, suggesting that both ZVI and microbes contribute to NO3− removal. Abiotic reduction of nitrate was observed in reactors with trichloroethene (TCE) if ZVI was present; however, it resulted in reduced rates of TCE reduction (k = 0.29 s−1) when compared to reactors with fresh ZVI and no nitrate (k = 0.55 s−1). The TCE reduction efficiency decreased by 49% (k = 0.15 s−1) in the presence of DNBE, suggesting that microbial growth on ZVI or catalyzed oxidation of ZVI surface can inhibit TCE reduction by ZVI. Contrary to the presumption that denitrification may decrease ZVI passivation by nitrate, results from this study suggest that denitrifying bacteria actually exacerbate ZVI passivation.
