Abstract:
The thesis "Art of Magnetic Tape Music" is dedicated to the genesis of the art of music magnetic tape and its effects on the development of modern music. Through a detailed survey of texts dealing with related issues and preserved audio recordings from around the world, the work seeks to map the importance of magnetic carriers, which inherently has helped the creation of electroacoustic music and also development of pop music. Special emphasis is placed on the fifties and sixties of the twentieth century, when the methods of audio recordings manipulation were developing rapidly and were used for compositional practice which at that time was experiencing numerous innovations and technological development. Described is a generally accepted typology, methodology used and the specific design of equipment needed for sound work with a magnetic medium. Marginal survival technique for the magnetic tape manipulation in the global audio digitization at the turn of the millennium is also taken into account.

Abstract:
Primary focus of the dissertation is comparison of loudspeaker and headphone reproduction and its influence on the mix balance of classical music recordings. A listening test, which represents an essential part of the thesis, was performed on a test group of sound engineers who prepared mixes of selected recordings using both loudspea-kers and headphones. An analysis of the resulting mixes was performed to find out if any systematic changes could be detected between headphone and loudspeaker mixes. The results disclosed a systematic change in preference of reverberation. Individual approaches of the sound engineers are documented by an extensive graphical section of the thesis. Level of stability of the individual models has been examined using repeated testing on selected participants. Selected headphone and loudspeaker mixes have been further evaluated by a listening group in a second listening test. Differences between the mixes were judged using both loudspeakers and headphones. Answers of the participants were analysed to see if there was an increased preference of headphone mixes when judged using headphones and vice versa. The results didn't show significant preference changes based on type of reproduction. The selected mixes weren't found to be "more optimal" when listened to on their respective reproduction device, nor could they be identified based on the subjective preference test. A special part is devoted to evaluation of an internet-based survey featuring a statistical documentation of loudspeaker and headphone usage in todays music recording industry. Special look has been taken at the group of respondents who indicated classical music as primary music genre of their profession. Another theoretical part of the thesis covers the artistic and technical approach of sound engineers to classical music sound image creation, including commonly used technical resources and stylization methods.

Abstract:
In my diploma thesis i deal with legal aspects of the protection of sound recordings of musical compositions in the Czech Republic and the Russian Federation. In connection with the development of modern technoligies that facilitate access to copyright works, for example the internet, protection of copyright and rights related to copyright is becoming a very important and should be corresponding. The first chapter deals with the definition of the basic concepts of copyright. The second chapter focuses on the issue of copyright infringement and infringement of related rights in the Czech Republic and Russia. In the following section copyright's international treaties (TRIPS, ACTA and others) are analyzed and liabilities, which arise from them. The fourth chapter deals with the issue of enforcement of copyright. In the last chapter, I compare effectiveness of Czech and Russian legal norms for the protection of copyright, based on anonymous sociological research among university students relatively to the origin of audio recordings of musical compositions.

Abstract:
This thesis follows the trend of last decades in using neural networks in order to detect speech in noisy data. The text begins with basic knowledge about discussed topics, such as audio features, machine learning and neural networks. The network parameters are examined in order to provide the most suitable background for the experiments. The main focus of the experiments is to observe the influence of various sound events on the speech detection on a small, diverse database. Where the sound events correlated to the speech proved to be the most beneficial. In addition, the accuracy of the acoustic events, previously used only as a supplement to the speech, is also a part of experimentation. The experiment of examining the extending of the datasets by more fairly distributed data shows that it doesn't guarantee an improvement. And finally, the last experiment demonstrates that the network indeed succeeded in learning how to predict voice activity in both clean and noisy data.

Abstract:
The aim of the thesis is to answer the questions regarding the subjects authorized to take a sound or audiovisual record, and to assess the legality of using such records as evidence in administrative proceedings. The thesis is formally divided into three chapters. The first one addresses the basic concepts emerging throughout the thesis, and the admissibility of other evidence not expressly mentioned by law. The second part of the thesis offers an insight to obtaining of sound and audiovisual records, and their further use as evidence pursuant to the basic human right documents. It describes and analyses the assessment of permissibility of such evidence that is applied by the European Court of Human Rights. The last chapter works with national legislation of both public and private law, and with the case law of domestic courts; from which it infers the subjects authorized to take these records, which may be used as evidence by an administrative authority. Based on the analysis of legislation and case-law, the thesis defines subjects authorized to obtain a sound or audiovisual record, and sets conditions for such obtaining. Simultaneously, it highlights the issues resulting from the current national legislation on obtaining sound or audiovisual records by selected public authorities, mostly...

Abstract:
Rights of producers of audio and audiovisual recordings. The goal of this thesis is to examine the history and development of copyright and copyright legislation as it relates to manufacturers of music and film music, with an overview of present day legal recourse available to intellectual property owners in the Czech Republic and the European Union in general. Recorded music and motion pictures are phenomena of the 20th and 21st centuries. Today they constitute major industries, and as such must be protected by copyright. This thesis analyzes the legal issues surrounding the rights of audio and audiovisual recordings, which is a highly current topic. Due to the constant development of information and communication technologies and the seeming anonymity of the online environment, copyright violation is increasing at a tremendous rate. The introduction deals with the influence of copyright laws on manufacturers of audio and audiovisual recordings. The rights conferred by these laws are distinct from the rights of the authors of the material, principally in that the manufacturers have only property rights as opposed to personal rights. Chapter two outline the historical development of manufacturers' rights from the beginning to the present day, with regard to the effects of international treaties and...

Abstract:
Resume The thesis is focused mainly on the rights of phonogram and audiovisual fixation producers. Choosing this topic came as a result of my own personal interest in music, as well as the constantly active public debate regarding the protection of rights of the producers in relation to the expantion of internet and related transmission of digital data. Part one is followed by establishing main terms, specifically the phonograms and their producers, and audiovisual fixations and their producers. The history of copyright protection and related rights is discussed in the third part. Despite the long history of intelectual property protection, copyright and related rights were not included into the Czech legal system until 1953. The historical excursion into copyright and related rights leads to exploration of the rights of phonograms and audiovisual fixations producers, especially in the light of how easy their worldwide distribution in today`s world is. Copyright is based on the quasidual concept of personal and property rights. Producers of phonograms or audiovisual fixations are granted solely property rights. The last two chapters are devoted to the explanation of individual rights and their potential civil or public protection under the valid Czech legal system.

Abstract:
58 Summary The goal of this thesis is to briefly analyze problems related to the legal issues of phonogram producers and audio-visual producers, who have a big influence on our society. One of the main roles of audio studios and film producers is to spread and open up author right of artists, which is very costly. Audio studios or film producer are entrepreneurs therefore they do all the work by themselves, under their own name and their own responsibility in order to make profit. Thus there is no doubt that they will try to protect their investments as much as they can. In these days it is important to realize how much money are all the producers actually loosing if someone is breaching copyright law and certain related rights. In the introduction of my thesis I focus on the relationship of phonogram and audio visual producers and copyright law. It is about related rights, so the legal regulation might differ from copyright law. Because we talk about rights certain related to copyright law, legal regulations are different from author's right. The main difference is that phonogram producers don't dispose of any moral laws, only with economic laws, unlike authors. In the next chapters I briefly talk about historical development of the rights of producers, where it is possible to observe how rights as well as...

Abstract:
The subject of my thesis is The Rights of Producers of Phonograms (Sound Recordings) and Films. I have chosen this topic because of my fondness for music and for media that carry such recordings. The Rights of Producers are denominated as rights related (to Copyright) because of the absence of creativity and individuality. The term neighbouring rights is exactly equivalent. In the first chapter I provide reader with basic terms and a concept of continental copyright law as well as a comparison with common law copyright system. These two law systems are essentially important to comprehend the rights of producers in general and to have basic overview on their role in global society and economy. Both authors' rights and related rights are copyrights in the sense of common law. The second chapter analyses international law on this subject. I describe the relationship between czech national law and international law. Although the majority of international agreements is phrased generally, mentioned agreements have impact on legislations of contracting parties. They form a part of czech law since their ratification and publication in Collection of Laws. The important agreements on the subject are Rome Convention, Geneva Convention, TRIPS Agreement and WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty. In addition, I...
