কবি রুদ্রমাণিক্য ছিলেন ভুলুয়ার মাণিক্য রাজবংশের শেষ নরপতি। তাঁর কাল ১৭শ শতকের শেষভাগ থেকে ১৮শ শতকের প্রথম ভাগ পর্যন্ত পিতামহ লক্ষ্মণমাণিক্য ছিলেন বাংলার বারভূঞার অন্যতম বলে খ্যাত। লক্ষ্মণমাণিক্যের চার পুত্র ধন্যমাণিক্য, চন্দ্রমাণিক্য, বিজয়মাণিক্য এবং অমরমাণিক্য। রুদ্রমাণিক্য বিজয়মাণিক্যের পুত্র। কবি তাঁর কাব্যের ৪-৮ নং শ্লোকে পিতামহ, পিতৃদেব এবং নিজের সংক্ষিপ্ত পরিচয় তুলে ধরেছেন। তাঁর ভাষায় লক্ষ্মণমাণিক্য ছিলেন বীরদের মধ্যে শ্রেষ্ঠ, সুপুরুষ, কীর্তিমান; এবং তাঁর যশ-খ্যাতি ছড়িয়ে পড়েছিল সর্বত্র। যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে তাঁর বিক্রমের নিকট শত্রুসৈন্যরা দলে দলে ভূপাতিত হত। তাঁর পিতাও ছিলেন ভুলুয়ার রা

During the time of the Abbasid Caliphate, numerous small regional dynasties rose to power in the eastern and western regions of Baghdad. In the west, dynasties such as the Idrisid, Aghlabid, Tulunid, Ikhshidid and Hamdanid emerged, while in the east, the Tahirid, Saffarid, Samanid, Ghaznawid, Buwayhid and Saljuq dynasties held sway. উত্তরবঙ্গের একটি বিশিষ্ট লোকনাট্য হল ‘পালাটিয়া’। উত্তরবঙ্গে প্রচলিত কুশান, কিচ্চাবন্দী, বিষহরা প্রভৃতি লোকনাট্যের পরিবেশনের একটি বিশেষ রীতি আছে। এগুলি গীতবহুল; প্রথমে পয়ার-গীতের মাধ্যমে কাহিনির কিছু অংশ বর্ণনা করা হয়, তার পর মূলী ও দোয়ারির কথোপকথনের মাধ্যমে সেই কাহিনি বা ঘটনার ব্যাখ্যা করা হয়, এর পর প্রয়োজন অনুসারে ঘটনাটি অভিনয় করা হয়। এক্ষেত্রে অনেক কথাই বর্ণনা ও ব্যাখ্যার মাধ্যমে বলে দেওয়া হয়, তাই সমস্ত ঘটনা অভিনয়ের প্রয়োজন হয় না। কিন্তু আলোচ্য ‘পালাটিয়া’ গানের উপস্থাপন রীতি ভিন্ন প্রকৃতির, সাধারণ যাত্রাপালর মতো। এক্ষেত্রে কাহিনি বর্ণনা নয়, সরাসরি পালা পরিবেশিত হয়, তাই এর নাম পালাটিয়া। এই না
