Анотація:
Deprea (Solanaceae) is a small South American genus of 10 species occurring in Andean areas from Venezuela to Bolivia. The circumscription of Deprea has been repeatedly modified in recent years, with new species being described and others transferred into or out of the genus. The relationships of Deprea to other genera of Solanaceae are still poorly understood, although it seems to be closely related to Larnax. A phylogenetic analysis was performed to test the monophyly of Deprea. Sequences from three molecular markers (nuclear ITS and waxy and chloroplast psbA-trnH) were analyzed by parsimony and Bayesian methods. All the species of Deprea and Larnax sampled were intermixed in a strongly supported clade in the consensus trees, and therefore the currently recognized Deprea species do not form a monophyletic group. At least four strongly supported clades could be recovered within the Deprea + Larnax assemblage, but the affinities of several species of both genera remained unresolved. Additional sampling including the majority of the Deprea + Larnax species and more representatives of genera in the Physalideae should be done to clarify relationships within the clade and to pinpoint the closest relatives of Deprea + Larnax.

The topic of my thesis is to study the complex reconstruction of the locomotive servicing depot Praha Liben. The locomotive depot is both operational maintenance and repair trains. The section reconstruction begins in turnout number 1, the whole area locomotive depot will be reconstructed. The main task is to propose an exchange of stepped old construction turnout for turnout new one in the whole area of the depot. The total number of changed points is 27. Depot demolition tasks in order to extend the track number 10 on the minimum usable effective length of 105 meters is the other task. Establishment of two dead-end tracks number 15 and 17 will be extend to an effective length of 105 metres. Retaining wall with PU componentsis designed along track 17. The next task is to solve the drainage area. The area will be drained interconnected system drains into the sewer and trench walls.

Government social researchers are a group of civil servants who have been overlooked in the existing literature on policy-making in the UK. Their role is particularly intriguing in policy areas relating to environment, food, and energy policy. In these domains, researchers in Science and Technology Studies have argued that policy-makers hold flawed assumptions about citizens’ views and likely actions, contributing to an image of UK policy institutions as overly technocratic and resistant to change. In this context, this thesis aims to understand changes in social research capacity and influence in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) between 2001 and 2015. Based on an analysis of more than 200 documents and 46 interviews with civil servants and external researchers, this thesis illuminates the growth of social research capacity and influence within DEFRA and DECC, since these departments were formed in 2001 and 2008 respectively. The first two empirical chapters (4 & 5) explain how social research capacity expanded within specific institutional, political, and epistemic contexts, through changes in how actors perceived the meanings, roles, and value of social research. It is shown that, contrary to what has been implied by recent literature, DEFRA and DECC are epistemically diverse and dynamic: they house multiple and conflicting epistemic perspectives which are reshaped over time. Moreover, social researchers are committed to performing a ‘challenge function’, whereby they question assumptions, values, and the framing of ideas. Indeed, such challenging has been important in shaping the capacity for social research within these departments. Social researchers’ ‘challenge function’ has also contributed to their gaining greater influence in DEFRA and DECC. Considering policy areas from each department in depth, Chapters 6 & 7 show that social researchers have enabled both ‘single-loop’ and ‘double-loop’ learning. As a result, in both departments social researchers have had some success in encouraging their colleagues to develop and test out policy ideas with the help of empirical research about citizens’ perspectives and everyday lives. While social researchers’ 'challenge function' is a significant policy learning mechanism, it has also been inhibited in various ways within these departments. The thesis concludes that their challenge function could be strengthened if social researchers gain greater representation in the senior civil service and more institutional recognition of their expert knowledge relating to a policy area (besides their skills). Moreover, better interdisciplinary collaboration is needed early on in policy development processes. Such changes have the potential to improve both the effectiveness and democratic legitimacy of policy-making within DEFRA and DECC.

Objects of the thesis: Production of cooked, smoked sausages, evaluation of sausages of organoleptic characteristics and microbiological. Aim of the thesis is to rate the possibilities of sodium salt reduction in the heat-treated meat products. Purpose of the thesis: 1. Summary of the scientific literature on possibilities of sodium salt reduction in the heat-treated meat products. 2. Research of possibilities of the change of the sodium salt by the alternative ingredients in the cooked and smoked sausages. 3. Formation of the products recipes, manufacture of the products and sensory evaluation. 4. Statistical processing of the obtained results, generalization, and formulation of conclusions. Work preparation place ant term: The research was performed at the Food Safety and Quality Department of the Veterinary Academy of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and at the company of meat processing “X”. My research explores policy-making in the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). I focus on the part of Defra that seeks to control exotic animal diseases such as Foot and Mouth Disease and Avian Influenza. The research investigates how civil servants make policies to control animal disease, how scientific expertise is used in decision-making, and the differences in styles of policy-making that occur during disease outbreaks compared with 'peace-time'. In contrast with conventional policy analysis, my research takes an interpretive approach to the study of policy-making. The emphasis of my analysis is on the understandings that officials hold about aspects of policy-making and how these understandings influence their behaviour. I gathered accounts from Defra officials and their advisers, using participant observation and interviewing, about what it means to be a bureaucrat and to provide expertise. Drawing on insights from organizational sociology, I treat these accounts as stories about policy-making with not only explanatory but performative power. Using John Law's (1994b) concept of 'modes of ordering', I view policy-makers' stories as organizing narratives that structure interactions and generate' organizational materials and realities. I argue that three modes of ordering can be identified in Defra's exotic disease division: rationalism, bureaucracy, and expediency. These three modes interact, overlap and contradict one another as Defra staff seek to make sense of the organization and their role within it. I conclude that the differences between these three modes of ordering account for differences in the way that policy-making is organized over time and between policy contexts. During disease outbreaks, for example, Defra officials think of themselves as 'heroes' and act accordingly, while during 'peace-time; they consider themselves bureaucrats or rational decision-makers to justify their inability to achieve policy outcomes.

Анотація:
This master thesis has been performed by request of Dekra Industrial AB. Dekra Industrial AB is a Swedish subsidiary company of the German company Dekra and works for example with safety inspections within the nuclear power industry. The inspections performed by the company are often non-destructive testing (NDT) such as visual inspections of nuclear reactor pressure vessels. The inspection methods used today are considered to be further developed and there is a strong demand of improving the visual inspection. 3D-Imaging techniques are starting to be used as a measuring tool within the industry and could be a potential aid tool for the visual inspection. The purpose with the master thesis is to gain an understanding of 3D-Imaging technique to propose a suitable implementation so that it may be used as an aid tool for visual inspection. The main goal with the master thesis work is to gain knowledge about 3D-Imaging techniques and propose an implementation which may be used in the nuclear power industry. However there are different types of techniques and all of them have advantages and disadvantages. The method began with a comprehensive study about 3D-Imaging techniques, optics of 3D-Imaging and behaviour of electronics in radioactive environment. Information that could not be acquired by literature alone is acquired by interviews and meetings. The chosen 3D-Imaging technique that was considered to be the most suitable was structural light. Structural light is built on a triangulation principle that uses a projector and a camera for acquiring 3D coordinates. By using patterns displayed by the projector onto the object the camera may detect the reflected patterns and thus creating 3D coordinates. A structural light system was built and tested. The main test consisted about a two-level factorial design. The tested factors were triangulation angle, brightness and measurement distance. The test run that had the largest triangulation angle, highest brightness and shortest measurement distance gave the best accuracy. The accuracy was determined by measuring the flatness of the object. The best accuracy was measured to 91.5 μm. Besides the accuracy the technique has proven its potential by being able to scan weld tests and reconstruct well defined point clouds of the weld profiles. In conclusion the goal of the master thesis was reached and the demanded accuracy was reached. The accuracy is comparable with some industrial systems available today. This was possible due to use of a high resolution still camera. Since the camera and projector are commercially available products the tests proves that there is room for further improvements in order to reach better and a more robust accuracy. Detta examensarbete har utförts på uppdrag av Dekra Industrial AB. Dekra Industrial AB är ett dotterbolag till Dekra. Dekra Industrial AB arbetar främst med kontroller och provningar inom industrin. Kärnkraftindustrin är en industrigren där DEKRA arbetar med sådan kontroll Inspektionerna som utförs består huvudsakligen av oförstörande provning såsom visuell provning. Metoderna som används idag behöver vidareutvecklas och det finns en stark efterfrågan att förbättra den visuella inspektionen. 3D-avbildningsteknik är allt vanligare inom industrin idag och skulle kunna användas som ett mäthjälpmedel för att komplettera den visuella inspektionen. Syftet med examensarbetet är att få en förståelse för hur väl tekniken fungerar samt att föreslå en tillämpning där den kan komma att användas som ett komplement till den visuella inspektionen. Målet med arbetet är att ta fram underlag och föreslå en tillämpning för provning i högstrålande miljö. 3D-avbildningsteknik är ett generellt namn för många olika typer av tekniker som har sina fördelar respektive nackdelar. Arbetet inleds med en litteraturstudie kring 3D-avbildningstekniker, fysik med avseende på avbildningsteknik, den visuella proceduren idag samt hur elektronik påverkas av högstrålande miljö. Information som inte kan fås via studier inhämtas via intervjuer och möten. Tekniken som valdes att analyseras var strukturerat ljus. Tekniken bygger på en trianguleringsprincip som använder en projektor och kamera för att tillförskaffa 3D-koordinater. Genom att projicera mönster på ett objekt kan kameran detektera det reflekterade mönstret och på så vis skapa 3D koordinater. Ett strukturerat ljus system ställdes upp och testades. Testet bestod huvudsakligen av en försöksplanering där de testade faktorerna var trianguleringsvinkel, ljusstyrka och mätavstånd. Testuppställningen som gav bäst resultat var med störst trianguleringsvinkel, högsta ljusstyrka samt kortast mätavstånd. Noggrannheten bestämdes genom att mäta planheten på objektet. Den bästa noggrannheten som uppnåddes med testet var 91.5 μm. Förutom den goda noggrannheten har tekniken visat sin potential genom att avbilda ett svetsprov som genererade ett väldefinierat punktmoln av svetsprofilen. Sammanfattningsvis uppfylldes målen och det uppställda systemet gav en noggrannhet som är jämförbar med en del system ute på marknaden. Detta var möjligt på grund av att en högupplöst stillbildskamera användes. Det finns potential för förbättringar då komponenterna som används i systemet är kommersiella produkter. The International Nature Learning Journey was developed to support FCDO and other government departments’ understanding, capacity and influence related to nature, particularly in the run-up to COP-26. A series of on-line seminars took place between May and August 2021 which involved an expert speaker on each topic, followed by a case study to provide practical illustrations, and a facilitated Q&A with participants. Each session was chaired by an expert facilitator. Participants included advisors from across several government departments, including FCDO, Defra, BEIS and Treasury, with approximately 150 participants joining each session.

Dos percepciones nos genera el Cambio Climático, la primera que se trata del desafío más importante de la humanidad, frase que no es novedosa porque es repetida en la prensa y desde la Organización de Naciones Unidas; la segunda, que resulta una problemática que nos tiene acostumbrados a brindarnos noticias desalentadoras y preocupantes. Por ello, nuestro tradicional abordaje del cambio climático procura brindar soluciones para contrarrestar sus efectos negativos y de cómo enfrentarlos de mejor forma; en esta ocasión nuestra propuesta parte con buenas noticias en un contexto difícil como es el que nos tiene inmerso la emergencia sanitaria desatada por el virus denominado «coronavirus de tipo 2 causante del síndrome respiratorio agudo severo (SRAS-CoV-2)» y aquí ubicamos la grata sorpresa que nos depara el Preámbulo del Acuerdo de París que incluye el concepto de Transición Justa, que es el disparador de esta contribución.

Анотація:
The UK has a legal commitment to reach net zero carbon (NZC) emissions by 2050. This is a topic that has recently been building momentum, with clean growth being one of the four Grand Challenges set out by the UK Government. The ways we grow, process and transport food are major contributors to climate change, accounting for more than a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing this will require substantial changes in agriculture, manufacturing, and transport. Consequently, the Science Council and FSA Chief Scientific Adviser (CSA) agreed that a deeper understanding of the potential implications of achieving net zero on food systems, together with identification of areas of uncertainty, would be of considerable value to FSA in pre-empting future policy and evidence needs in this area. In early discussions to scope the work required, Defra indicated to the FSA Science Council Secretariat that there are many new developments and changes to activity in primary production aimed at achieving net zero. The Science Council agreed, therefore, to concentrate its first investigations on changes expected in primary food production. Primary production is the production of chemical energy in organic forms by living organisms. The main source of this energy is sunlight. For the purposes of this review, primary food production includes the growing and harvesting of plants as food for humans or feed for animals, and the rearing and slaughter of animals including livestock, fish and a wide variety of aquatic and marine organisms. A Science Council Working Group 6 (WG6) began work in summer 2021, led by Science Council members Mrs Claire Nicholson (WG6 Chair) and Prof Jonathan Wastling (WG6 Deputy Chair). The brief for WG6 is to investigate the potential food safety implications arising from changes to primary food production practices and technologies that reduce carbon emissions in the next 10 years. The work programme (described in this report) covers 4 phases, with phases 1 and 2 now complete. The work so far has drawn diverse, wide-ranging, sometimes slightly conflicting, views and opinions from across academia, the FSA, Defra, industry bodies and individual food producers. This interim report summarises: The work undertaken to date (phases 1 and 2) What has been learnt including changes to practice already underway or imminent Issues arising from the changes that the FSA should be aware of Further work planned by WG6 to understand the nature of the risks in more depth (phases 3 and 4) The Science Council aims to complete its investigations by the end of 2022 and present its findings to the FSA Board as soon as possible afterwards.
