Three-dimensional optical data storage offers the potential for very large recording capacity and has the possibility of parallel read-out. In addition to research in volume holographic data storage, work has been done in point-like binary 3-D optical storage. Optical recording at a density of 1.6×1012 bits/cm3 has been demonstrated in a photopolymer using two-photon absorption [1]. The stored information consisted of less than 1% changes in the local index of refraction, and was read out serially with a differential interference contrast (DIC) laser microscope.

n the history of the development of Russian book graphics the Japanese artistic tradition occupies a prominent place. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century there was a noticeable interest in Japanese print graphics in Russian art, especially in ukiyo-e woodblock prints. The interaction with Japanese graphics contributed to the enrichment of artistic traditions, the expansion of stylistic possibilities and the search for new means of expression. It influenced the work of such masters as I.Ya. Bilibin, A.P. Ostroumova-Lebedeva and others.
