การศึกษาการผลิตสารลดแรงตึงผิวชีวภาพโดยยีสต์ Pichia anomala สายพันธุ์ PY1 ในอาหารเลี้ยงเชื้อที่มีแหล่งคาร์บอนแตกต่างกัน 3 ชนิด คือ 4% กลูโคส 4%น้ำมันถั่วเหลือง และน้ำมันถั่วเหลืองร่วมกับกลูโคส พบว่ายีสต์สามารถผลิตสารลดแรงตึงผิวชีวภาพที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุดในอาหารเหลวปรับปรุงสูตรที่ประกอบด้วย 0.02% KH2PO4, 0.02% MgSO4, 7H2O, 0.4% NaNO3, 0.3% สารสกัดยีสต์ 10.67% น้ำมันถั่วเหลือง และ 5.33% กลูโคส (อัตราส่วน 2:1) ควบคุมค่าความเป็นกรดด่างเริ่มต้นเท่ากับ 5.0 โดยมีภาวการณ์เลี้ยงเชื้อที่อุณหภูมิ 30 ํC ในระดับขวดเขย่าอัตราเร็ว 200 รอบต่อนาที เป็นเวลา 7 วัน โดยมีค่าแรงตึงผิวต่ำสุด 33 mN/m ค่าการกระจายน้ำม

ทำการทดลองแยกยีสต์จากแหล่งต่างๆ จากตัวอย่างทั้งหมด 183 ตัวอย่าง พบว่ามีสายพันธุ์ยีสต์ที่มีความสามารถในการฆ่าได้ดี 36 สายพันธุ์ กลุ่มของยีสต์ที่จัดแยกตามความกว้างของโซนใส พบว่าสายพันธุ์ที่ให้ความกว้างสูงสุดได้แก่ T1, N2, G2.1 และ 5/19 กลุ่มของยีสต์ที่มีความสามารถในการฆ่ายีสต์ที่ใช้ทดสอบสายพันธุ์อื่นๆ ได้ 9-17 ชนิด ได้แก่ T1, N1, N2, N12, 5/19 และ 5/24 ที่ฆ่าได้ 4-8 ชนิด ได้แก่ G2.1, N3, N5, N6, N11, 5/22, 5/34 และ 5/39 จากการทดสอบคุณสมบัติทางสรีรวิทยาและสัณฐานวิทยาของเชื้อยีสต์สามารถจำแนกออกได้เป็น 5 สกุล คือ Hansenuls sp, Kloeckera sp, Trichosporon sp, Torulopsis sp และ Candida sp ได้นำยีสต์ที
