Abstract:
Background:Little is known about the relationship between children’s physical activity (PA) in preschool (in-school) and outside of preschool (out-of-school). This study described this relationship. Methods:Participants were 341 children (4.6 ± 0.3 years) in 16 preschools. Accelerometers measured moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and total physical activity (TPA) in-school and out-of-school. In the full sample, Pearson correlation was used to describe associations between in-school and out-of-school PA. In addition, children were categorized as meeting or not meeting a PA guideline

Background: Early pelvic rotation has been associated with decreased throwing arm kinetics in college baseball pitchers, though professional pitchers have yet to be examined. Purpose: To investigate the effect of pelvic rotation on trunk, pelvis and lower extremity kinematics, as well as throwing arm kinetics and pitch velocity in professional baseball pitchers. Study Design: Descriptive laboratory study. Methods: Data were analyzed for 157 professional baseball pitchers throwing fastballs using 3-dimensional motion capture (480 Hz). Abstract Introduction: Breast cancer (BC) in women age 40 or younger represents approximately 7% of all BC cases. Studies have reported that BC in younger women is more likely to have adverse tumor characteristics and outcomes when compared to elder women. Despite the fact that BC in the Middle East seems to occur at a younger age, data on tumor characteristics in these patients are scarce, especially in the United Arab Emirates. Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the incidence, clinicopathological characteristics, treatment modalities, and outcomes of young BC patients at a ma

Background: Venetoclax (Ven) in combination with hypomethylating agent (HMA) is the preferred treatment for elderly/unfit patients with newly-diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Current prognostication for AML is based on European LeukemiaNet (ELN) genetic risk stratification which has limited applicability in patients treated with Ven-HMA ( Blood, 2022). Accordingly, our primary objective was to determine predictors of treatment response and survival outcomes in treatment-naïve AML patients receiving Ven-HMA. ABSTRACT In an effort to understand the physiological functions of cytochrome P-450 in the central nervous system and pituitary gland, we evaluated changes in the level of the enzyme as a function of the endocrine status of rats and the ability of these tissues to synthesize or degrade steroids. The P-450 content of microsomes prepared from the hypothalamic preoptic area (HPOA), the olfactory lobes and the cerebrum was 0·040 ± 0·009 and in the pituitary gland 2·2 ± 0·6 (s.d.) nmol/g tissue. Abstract. The new mckelveyite group mineral, alicewilsonite-(YLa), Na2Sr2YLa(CO3)6 ⋅ 3H2O, was found together with kamphaugite-(Y), paratooite-(Y), bastnäsite-(La), and decrespignyite-(Y) coating along fractures in dolomite at the Paratoo copper mine, South Australia, Australia. It occurs as pale pink to colourless pseudohexagonal tabular crystals up to 150 µm in size. The streak is white; the lustre is vitreous. The mineral has no cleavage. Dcalc is 3.37 g cm−3. Introduction: Bleeding disorder of unknown cause (BDUC) is a diagnosis of exclusion and patients share a similar phenotype with established mild bleeding disorders (MBDs) such as platelet function defects (PFD), mild von Willebrand disease (VWD), or mild coagulation factor deficiencies (CFD). The integration of global assays, such as the Platelet Function Analyzer (PFA)-100, as screening tools for MBDs lacks universal endorsement and is currently not recommended in clinical routine. Abstract:
The goal of Northern Colorado Plateau Network (NCPN) riparian monitoring is to deter-mine long-term trends in hydrologic, geomorphic, and vegetative properties of wadeable streams in the context of changes in other ecological drivers, stressors, and processes. This information is intended to provide early warning of resource degradation and determine natural variability of wadeable streams. This report summarizes NCPN monitoring of the Fremont River in Capitol Reef National Park (NP) from water years 2009 to 2021. The focus of this report is to (1) examine patterns in water availability at one
