Abstract:
The solid solution Ca9Zn1–xMnxNa(PO4)7 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) was obtained by solid-phase reactions under the control of a reducing atmosphere. It was demonstrated that Mn2+-doped phosphors can be obtained using activated carbon in a closed chamber, which is a simple and robust method. The crystal structure of Ca9Zn1–xMnxNa(PO4)7 corresponds to the non-centrosymmetric β-Ca3(PO4)2 type (space group R3c), as confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and optical second-harmonic generation methods. The luminescence spectra in visible area consist of a broad red emission peak centered at 650 nm under 406

Abstract Introduction Sleep restriction impairs health, but less is known about the potential health benefits of extending sleep in undergraduate students with habitual short sleep. This study examined the effects of a 1-week, 1-hour per night sleep extension on cardiometabolic health, hydration status, sedentary behavior, and physical activity in undergraduate students. Methods Twelve healthy undergraduate students (83% female; mean±SD age 20.2±1.5; range 18-23 years) obtaining fewer than 7 hours of average nightly sleep completed a two-week study. A brain-infecting myxozoan, Kudoa yasunagai (Hsieh & Chen, 1984), was identified using both morphological and molecular methods in a marine fish from Van Phong Bay, Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam. Cysts containing spores were observed in the brain of one out of 10 Siganus virgatus (Valenciennes) individuals (10%). The myxospores were radially symmetrical, containing a majority of 7 equal shell valves and polar capsules. The spores measured 6.6 ± 0.1 (6.4‒6.7) µm in length, 7.6 ± 0.5 (7.0‒8.4) µm in width, and 7.0 ± 0.4 (6.5‒7.7) µm in thickness. Polar capsules measured 2.8 ± 0.2 (2.6‒3.0) µm

AbstractWe present an empirical model built on a high-resolution N-body dark matter simulation. We assume a redshift-independent star-formation efficiency for each halo to convert the accretion rate into a star-formation rate. Our model is calibrated using the z = 4 UV luminosity function (UVLF) and successfully predicts the observed UVLF at z = 5 – 10. We present predictions at z = 5 – 10 for UV luminosity and stellar mass functions, JWST number counts, the stellar-to-halo mass relation and star-formation histories. Abstract Background Pretreatment cytogenetic analysis is frequently used to predict response and outcome in hematologic malignancies. Hypodiploidy is associated with a poor prognosis in childhood ALL. Similarly, complex cytogenetics is a known adverse prognostic factor in myeloid malignancies. The impact of hypodiploidy and complex cytogenetics has not been extensively assessed in adult patients with ALL. To address this issue, we have conducted a retrospective analysis of all adult patients with ALL treated with frontline Hyper-CVAD based regimens at our institution. Methods We reviewed 332 a
