Abstract:
In the academic world, the authors and the publication of academic writing are inseparable. By publishing academic writing, academicians can improve their performance and increase their visibility in academia. However, academic writing is not an easy thing, as it is directly tied to the ethics of academic authorship. However, there have been several forms of unethical identified in academic authorship. Among them is the unethical placement of the author's name. This dishonesty certainly has a negative impact on the world of scholarship because those who are in this world of scholarship are sai

Cumulative advantage–commonly known as the Matthew Effect–influences academic output and careers. Given the challenge and uncertainty of gauging the quality of academic research, gatekeepers often possess incentives to prefer the work of established academics. Such preferences breach scientific norms of universalism and can stifle innovation. This article analyzes repeat authors within academic journals as a possible exemplar of the Matthew Effect. College academic writing education must focus on reinforcing authorship. Authorship means that one's identity as an author is reflected throughout the text. Authorship also refers to the identity of a subject who produces knowledge through a dynamic process. However, this process requires the author to actively participate in academic dialogues with other scholars, rather than simply act as a passive recipient of knowledge and discourse in the academic community. This is particularly true when it comes to academic writing. This study presents educational guidelines on how to strengthen authors

According to Stangl (1994), Jalongo (2002), Richards and Miller (2005) and a host of other authors regarding publishing in educational journals, understanding the audience for an article is of utmost importance. Huff (1999) notes that an author must understand the audience for whom s/he writes. While much of this understanding of audience comes down to suitable topics (Silverman, 1982), articles must also fit the style of the journal to which it is being presented (Olsen, 1997). With this in mind, the purpose of this study is to characterize the writing style of academic writing in education.

This research explores and describes co-authorship network structures in the academic publication process. The production of academic publications, through co-authorship choices or strategies, creates a network structure among co-authoring scholars which can influence research visibility and enhance stature among peers (Bayer & Smart, 1991). A specific scholar's co-authorship network may reflect a structure of more cohesion (Coleman, 1988) or one which fills more structural holes (Burt, 1992), both of which are theorized, from contrasting perspectives, to be associated with publication success

AbstractAn author is a person who creates a manuscript or paper. He is the one who initiates the process of crafting the document. He is also called a writer, a person who begins the process or plan or an idea. Before venturing into the authorship of biomedical research, one should know if one is entering ‘a sweet fruit of inspiration’ or drifting ‘towards a bitter fruit of the trade’. Stephen Lock has summed up authorship as not being ‘a bread ticket; it is an intellectual responsibility’. Incidence of inappropriate authorship even in Cochrane review has increased.
