This study examines some most common strategies for the Vietnamese translation of English passive voice such as “The use of markers ‘được’/‘bị’”, “Change to active”, “Paraphrasing” in order to find out the frequency and the rules for the use of those strategies by collecting and analyzing the data from the English and Vietnamese versions of a novel named “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and a book named “A Brief History of Time”. Most existing detection methods adopt a passive approach by monitoring ARP traffic for anomalies in the IP-to-Ethernet address mappings. The optimum level of passive damping for minimizing the root mean square (r.m.s.) dynamic tyre force and r.m.s. body acceleration of a heavy vehicle is determined by testing a damper in a ‘hardware-in-the-loop’ (HiL) test rig. Two different control strategies [‘modified skyhook damping’ (MSD), and linear optimal control with full state feedback (FSF)] are investigated theoretically using linear models, and suspension force control laws are derived. These control laws, along with simple ‘on–off’ control, are then tested experimentally using a prototype semi-active damper which is controlled so

Lightweight designs in engineering applications give rise to flexible structures with extremely low internal damping. Vibrations of these flexible structures due to an unwanted excitation of system resonances may lead to high cycle fatigue failure and noise propagation. A common method to suppress the vibrations is to increase the damping of the system using one of the classical control techniques i.e. passive, active, and/or hybrid. Passive techniques are those control systems that are simply integrated into the structures with no need of external power source for their operations, like visco

This process is markedly visible in Kolkata’s environs, where seemingly passive spaces have changed into active places where people create their own identities and histories.

The aim of this work is to control the flow around ground vehicles by active or/and passive strategies. The active control is achieved by steady, pulsed or closed-loop jets located at the back of the simplified car model. The passive control is performed using porous layers between the solid body and the fluid in order to modify the shear forces. Then, the two previous control methods are coupled to improve the drag reduction.

LaRaine Ingram, Keisha. Co-Creation in Marketing and Brand Strategy. Vilnius Business College, 2024. https://doi.org/10.57005/ab.2024.2.2.

Abstract:
Co-creation in branding and marketing strategy represents a paradigm shift from traditional, company- centric approaches to more interactive, customer-centric models. This concept involves engaging customers as active participants in the creation and enhancement of products, services, and brand experiences. Co-creation fosters deeper customer engagement and loyalty and drives innovation and competitive advantage. The theoretical foundations of co-creation can be traced to service-dominant logic, which emphasizes the role of the customer as a co-creator of value rather than a passive consumer.

Abstract:
This research project introduced a novel membrane coating strategy to combat biofouling, which is a major problem for the membrane-based treatment of agricultural and municipal wastewaters. The novelty of the strategy is that the membrane coatings have the unique ability to switch reversibly between passive (antifouling) and active (antimicrobial) fouling control mechanisms. This dual-mode approach differs fundamentally from other coating strategies that rely solely on one mode of fouling control. The research project had two complementary objectives: (1) preparation, characterization, and tes
