A retrospective analysis of treatment was made in 127 adult patients with acute and chronic otitis media complicated by suppurative-inflammatory pathology of the brain. Purulent meningitis was revealed in 52 (40,9%) of hospitalized patients. Meningoencephalitis was often diagnosed in the cases of acute otitis media (15,4%) and in cases of chronic otitis (22,7%). The otogenic brain abscess was detected in 13,5% of otitis media cases and it was noted to be twice frequent (33,3%) in cases of purulent otitis media. The patients 124 (97,6%) have been operated. Introduction. Lactation mastitis can complicate the course of the postpartum period in every tenth case. Under lactation abscess, the tactic of performing wide incisions to drain the breast abscess and complete lactation by medications is common. International studies report that the treatment of lactational purulent mastitis complicated by an abscess is possible in a minimally invasive way - by puncture or drainage of an abscess under ultrasound navigation. The current trend in the treatment of lactational breast abscess also includes preservation of breastfeeding. The aim of the study was to

An unusual case of acute purulent thyroiditis in a 45-year-old man forming a large abscess in the left lobe of the thyroid gland is described. It perforated the capsule at the posterior wall of the thyroid, causing extensive retropharyngeal and retrotracheal abscesses. The patient was treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics and surgical excision of the infected tissues. He has remained well one year after the operation.

The endoscopic drainage of acute purulent abscesses of lungs is performed in 57 patients, in 27 of them using ronkoleikin. The good clinical effect is obtained: the length of stay in hospital, period of temperature normalization, period of sputum disappearance are reduced. The treatment results are improved. A psoas abscess is a purulent collection of the psoas muscle, most often secondary to a locoregional infectious focus that may be intra- or retroperitoneal. Appendicitis ranks second (16%) after crohn's disease (60%) among digestive etiologies of psoas abscesses. Its etiological diagnosis can prove difficult. Imaging is therefore essential. We report the case of a psoas abscess extending to the anterolateral abdominal wall complicating acute appendicitis in a 24-year-old female patient admitted to the emergency department for an appendicular syndrome associated with psoitis. Cellulitis is an acute, spreading infection of the deep dermis and subcutaneous fat characterized by erythema, warmth, swelling, and pain. Erysipelas is an infection of the more superficial cutaneous lymphatics and skin, including the epidermis as well as the upper reticular and papillary dermal layers. It is commonly located on the lower extremities, face, and ears. Cutaneous abscesses are purulent collections that occupy the dermis and deeper soft tissues. Effective treatment of cellulitis and erysipelas includes antibiotics and elevation of the affected area to assist in lymphatic drainage.

Skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs) are a common presenting complaint to acute care centers. SSTIs include folliculitis, furuncle, carbuncle, impetigo, ecthyma, erysipelas, cellulitis, and abscess. These infections are caused by methicillin-resistant and methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus and streptococcus species. This chapter reviews nonpurulent and purulent SSTIs in pediatric patients; the bacterial etiology of these infections; clinical presentation and complications; antibiotic choice for treatment; and disposition of the patient, including when to obtain laboratory studies
