Full textThe present study seeks to investigate the possible presence of the Transitional Object in adolescence. We aimed to investigate the characteristics of the adolescents that have these objects, as well as the experiences and characteristics of the Transitional Object. The concept of the Transitional Object proposed by Winnicott was used, since other specific definitions for this phenomenon in later stages after childhood were not found. The discussion also focused in the pertinence of the concept of Transitional Objects beyond childhood and the significance that this would imply. We performed a qualitative study with a thematic analysis of the reports provided by the 7 adolescent participants. The interviews focused on the characteristics, history, function and meaning of the Transitional Object, as well as the characteristics of their owners. We found that adolescents that have a Transitional Object seem to present characteristics that indicate certain degree of vulnerability and a lower degree of well-being. The results of this study are similar to those found in other previous investigations. We consider that it could be convenient to differentiate the persistence of this phenomenon beyond childhood, proposing as an alternative: Transitional Object Chronification.

Full textEsta investigación tiene por objetivo explorar y conocer, desde la perspectiva de los adolescentes, el significado asignado a “situaciones adversas” por un grupo de adolescentes. En este estudio, se trabaja desde el relato construido por una muestra de adolescentes, participantes de un centro comunitario infanto juvenil, en un contexto de pobreza. La búsqueda principal se traduce en las preguntas ¿Qué situaciones de la vida son consideradas, por estos adolescentes, como adversas?, ¿Cuáles son las explicaciones construidas por ellos, para la superación de situaciones adversas? Se utiliza una metodología cualitativa, de carácter exploratorio y descriptivo. Para la producción de datos, fue utilizada la entrevista abierta semi estructurada individual, aplicada a una muestra de adolescentes de ambos sexos, con edades entre 15 y 18 años, que han participado en actividades de un Centro Comunitario Infanto Juvenil, inserto en un sector de nivel socioeconómico bajo, calificado como pobre no indigente. Para el análisis de los datos obtenidos, se utilizó la técnica de Análisis de Contenido semántico. Esta memoria consta de una introducción, planteamiento de una problemátización y los objetivos que guían el estudio. Luego, se expone un marco teórico conceptual, que permite abarcar el estudio de la adolescencia desde aspectos psicosociales, su desarrollo integral saludable y discusiones relacionadas con su presencia en la actualidad. Se aborda el contexto de pobreza, como una situación de adversidad y vulnerabilidad, especificando el contexto en el cual se desarrollan los adolescentes, tanto en la exposición a los factores de riesgos como en aspectos protectores. Se presenta el concepto de resiliencia como una propuesta sobre la superación de la adversidad y dado que el objetivo de investigación esta centrado en la mirada desde los sujetos entrevistados, se ha considerado importante exponer los conceptos de realidad y construcción social. A partir de los objetivos específicos se diseñaron 5 tópicos de conversación, arrojando los siguientes resultados: En el primer tópico: las situaciones que son consideradas como adversas, se crean tres categorías de clasificación de respuestas. La adversidad se encuentra en: círculos íntimos; la sociedad y en actitudes dañinas de las personas. Respecto del segundo tópico, necesidades significativas de recursos para la superación de la adversidad, los jóvenes manifestaron la importancia de la necesidad de recibir apoyo, de desarrollar ciertas condiciones personales y de intercambiar con otros. En el tópico referido a la explicación de cómo las personas han superado situaciones adversas, los adolescentes mencionan, que dichas personas se desarrollan en un ambiente propicio en el cual han recibido determinadas cosas, tienen características específicos y realizan determinados actos que en su conjunto les permitirían superar la adversidad. En el cuarto tópico de conversación, se aborda el proyecto de vida de los sujetos y la posibilidad de vivir experiencias adversas. Ante esto, aparecen ciertos eventos adversos que imaginan podrían suceder, las respuestas fueron categorizadas en tres ámbitos: nivel de control que ellos podrían ejercer sobre los eventos y responsabilidad que tienen sobre ellos. Eventuales actitudes que podrían desarrollar frente a estos eventos, destacándose la búsqueda de una persona importante y el despliegue de recursos personales. Y por último la Visión de sus vidas a futuro. Finalmente el quinto tópico se refiere al desarrollo y participación en el entorno. En este último aspecto, la conversación revela la noción de participación que los jóvenes tienen, el objetivo de ésta, las redes que ocupan a nivel comunitario y las dificultades que aparecen en la convivencia con el entorno. Desde un punto de vista transversal a los tópicos de conversación, es posible reconocer en los relatos de los jóvenes la presencia de tres temáticas que se relacionan con la adversidad: “la pobreza”, “la población”, “la violencia”. La pobreza es descrita como un contexto de escasos recursos materiales en el cual hay personas con necesidades básicas. El sector que los jóvenes delimitan como suyo, es descrito en relación a las situaciones que ahí se desarrollan, se sienten y se perciben, siendo nombrado como “La población” o “La Pincoya”. Se relatan diversas situaciones que aluden a ciertas actitudes que las personas tienen cuando ejercen “la violencia”.

Resumo: Esta tese tem por objetivo efetuar um estudo do processo psicossomático da obesidade feminina na adolescência. Com base em algumas teorias psicodinâmicas, procura-se compreender a origem, estruturação e dinamismos dessa enfermidade ilustrando com estudos de casos. Após uma introdução, o trabalho é apresentado em 3 partes. Na 1a. , abordam-se alguns temas introdutórios; na 2a., desenvolve-se o tema da obesidade propriamente dita e discute-se sobre o método utilizado para os estudos de casos; na 3a. apresentam-se os resultados, a discussão e a síntese final. Considerando a obesidade como uma doença psicossomática típica, busca-se, no Capítulo I rever os conceitos básicos desse enfoque no campo da medicina, ressaltando as contribuições da psicanálise e de sua tendência contemporânea de compreender as manifestações psicossomáticas à luz das teorias objetais do desenvolvimento. O Capítulo II, trata das relevantes contribuições de WINNICOTT que, estudando as relações mãe-bebê na tenra infância, fornece subsídios para a compreensão das raízes das perturbações psicossomáticas e da obesidade infanto-juvenil. No Capítulo III, apresenta-se a abordagem psicodinâmica da adolescência com ênfase especial no sexo feminino. Destaca-se a suscetibilidade deste período às somatizações e sustenta-se que a obesidade pode servir a propósitos homeostáticos na economia psíquica e ter relação com os conflitos desta idade. No Capítulo, IV aborda-se o tema da Imagem Corporal e de sua importância para a formação da identidade, do autoconceito e da estima pessoal. Discute-se sobre as vicissitudes desta Imagem, na adolescente obesa. No Capítulo V, apresenta-se uma revisão sobre o tema da Obesidade, sua conceituação, aspectos clínicos e psicossomáticos. O Capítulo VI aborda a escolha do método e dos procedimentos usados. No Capítulo VII, são apresentados 10 casos de adolescentes obesas, estudados através de entrevistas e testes projetivos (grafismos). Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to achieve a study on the psychosomatic process of female obesity in adolescence. Based in some psychodynamic theories, we strove for understanding the origin, structure and dynamism of this disease, illustrating with case studies. After an introduction, the study is shown in three parts. In the first one, some introductory themes are broached; in the second one, the theme of obesity itself is developed and the method used to study the cases is discussed; in the third one, results, discussion and final summary are presented. Considering obesity as a typical psychosomatic disease, its basic concepts were reviewed in the field of Medicine, in Chapter I, emphasizing the contributions of psychoanalysis and its contemporaneous tendency to understand the psychosomatic manifestation considering the object relationship theory. Chapter II deals with the important contributions of WINNICOTT, whom studying mother-baby relationships in the earliest childhood provides help to understand the roots of psychosomatic disorders and the infantile-juvenile obesity. In Chapter III, psychodynamic approach of adolescence's is shown, specially emphasizing female sex. Adolescent's susceptibility to somatization is stressed and it is defended that obesity may serve for homeostatic purposes in the psychic economy and has a relationship with the conflicts of this age. In Chapter IV, the theme of Corporal Image and its importance to the development of identity, self-concept and personal esteem are broached. The vicissitudes of this Image in the obese adolescent are discussed. In Chapter V, a review on the theme of Obesity, its concept, clinical and psychosomatic aspects is shown. Chapter VI broaches the choice of the method and procedures used. In Chapter VII, ten cases of obese adolescents are presented and studied through projective interviews and tests (drawings). The discussion of the results is in Chapter VIII. Here, we tried to organize the findings, analyzing them according to the theoretical bases exhibited in the first and second parts of the thesis.... Full textThis qualitative study explores the subjective experience of the body in pregnant adolescents of low SES in Lima. To this end, a multiple case study was conducted through semi-structured interviews with eight adolescent girls aged between 15-18 years old, who were among five and eight months of their first pregnancy. Through thematic analysis, four axes were identified revealing that the participants experience their bodies in relation to others: Body of others, regarding their parents; Stared body, regarding society and men; Personal relationship with their body; and, Occupied body, regarding their fetus. Transversely to the aforementioned axes, the study found a process in which perception of fetal movement is essential for a significant change in the participants’ subjective experience of their bodies: from the initial desire of having an empty body and negative views towards it to the rise of love for their occupied body. Therefore, the participants experience some acceptance and adaptation to it. Findings are discussed from different theoretical perspectives in order to achieve an integral understanding of this experience, in which three particular conditions of the body intersect and influence each other: being a woman, going through adolescence and having a baby inside the body. Moreover, the study provides valuable information for a timely clinical intervention that could potentially favor healthier adolescent psychological development and mother-child relationship.

Full textNowadays, in Peru, there are more problems afflicting teens. In an effort to tackle this issue, various institutions are developing youth empowerment programs aiming to provide tools to feel appreciated and capable of directing their future. It is in this context that the study of variables, such as psychological well-being and coping, become crucial for this case. This research seeks to compare psychological well-being and coping among teens that participating in a youth empowerment program and school teens who do not. In addition, the study aims to investigate the relationship between well-being, coping and participation in empowerment program. 75 teens of the 150 total participants were involved in the youth empowerment program, while the other 75 were private school students enrolled in 3rd to 5th grade. This study used the BIEPS-J questionnaire to assess psychological well-being, and the ACS to assess coping. The concluding results suggest that teens who participate in the youth empowerment program have a higher level of wellbeing and use more adaptive coping strategies. On the other hand, the study found two-way predictive correlations between participation and well-being as well as between well-being and the coping strategy in reference to others. Participation in this program would not only enhance the availability of resources for teens but also provide opportunities for healthy socialization. As such, replicating this program with other youth groups in Peru would be of immense value.

Full textAmong the different issues related to mental health, depression stands out as one of the most relevant in our country due to its great prevalence among the population, especially the adolescent one. In addition to this, the prejudices associated with the disorder can cause negative attitudes that hinder the due treatment of the people who suffer it. Based on the above, the goal of this investigation was to explore the beliefs of teenagers between 15 and 17 years old about depression in adolescence. This was carried out through a semi-structured interview that revolved around several focal points used in previous research. The results showed that teenagers possess a degree of knowledge about depression from informal sources, which can cause the perpetuation of misconceptions about the disorder. Moreover, most of the their beliefs revolved around interpersonal relationships, an important element within the developmental stage of adolescence. Finally, the participants perceived a high level of prejudice in their environment against depressed people, which according to them would make it difficult for them to recieve help.

By its constant presence on contemporary television and advertisings, the adolescent subject has assumed a central role on nowadays subjectivity. However, besides that notorious fact and all the studies to reinforce its relevance, television advertising is very little discussed by psychology in its relationship with adolescence. On the other hand, various adolescence models have been defined by the psi knowledge, prioritizing one or another aspect like the essential question for the constitution of the adolescent identity, be it education, work, family and sexuality or any other. Based on Guattari’s subjectivity theory, this study tries to trace a cartography of the Brazilian television advertisement as an existential territory of adolescence, starting in the confrontation between those concrete agencies, the scientific models of adolescence produced by psychology and the history and media institutions that marked the origin and the transfiguration of adolescence along modernity. We did the registry and the analysis of 48 advertisements aired in four channels of open television, during March of 2009. Starting with those analyses, we tried to produce a discussion about 17 themes that evocate problematic points in those advertisements: family, education, technology, politics, joy, experimentation, insecurity, autonomy, beauty, health, sexuality, group, work, fame, happiness, consume and nature. We didn’t try, however, to institute a new model of adolescence to surpass the others, but to comprehend the adolescence as the seed of a founding multiplicity that turns a group of varied existential territories and that are not reduced to each other. Based on this cartography of the existential territory of the adolescence on television advertising, we suppose that all theoretical models and all historical configurations of adolescence can just be considered partial and undistinguished productions of the devices and institutions that agency them.
A julgar por sua presença constante na televisão e na publicidade contemporâneas, o sujeito adolescente tem assumido um papel central na subjetividade hodierna. No entanto, apesar desse fato notório e de todos os estudos que reforçam sua relevância, a publicidade televisiva resta pouco discutida pela psicologia em sua relação com a adolescência. Por outro lado, diversos modelos de adolescência têm sido traçados pelos saberes psi, priorizando-se um ou outro aspecto como a questão essencial para a constituição da identidade do adolescente, seja a educação, o trabalho, a família e a sexualidade ou outro qualquer. Pautando-se na teoria da subjetividade de Guattari, este estudo busca traçar uma cartografia da publicidade televisiva brasileira enquanto território existencial da adolescência, a partir do confronto entre esses agenciamentos concretos, os modelos cientificistas de adolescência produzidos pela psicologia e as instituições históricas e midiáticas que marcaram a origem e a transfiguração da adolescência ao longo da modernidade. Realizamos o registro e a análise de 48 publicidades veiculadas em quatro canais da televisão aberta, durante o mês de março do ano de 2009. A partir dessas análises, procuramos engendrar uma discussão acerca de 17 temas que evocavam pontos problemáticos nessas publicidades: família, educação, tecnologia, política, alegria, experimento, insegurança, autonomia, beleza, saúde, sexualidade, grupo, trabalho, fama, felicidade, consumo e natureza. Não procuramos, no entanto, instituir um novo modelo de adolescência que venha a superar os demais, mas sim compreender a adolescência enquanto fruto de uma multiplicidade fundadora que a torna um conjunto de territórios existenciais variados e que não se reduzem uns aos outros. Com base nessa cartografia do território existencial da adolescência na publicidade televisiva, somos levados a supor que todos os modelos teóricos e todas as configurações históricas da adolescência apenas podem ser considerados enquanto produções parciais e inseparáveis dos dispositivos e das instituições que os agenciam.

Full textThis study is framed within educational psychology, focusing on the promotion and prevention of integral health of adolescents and on the efforts to reduce the risk of disability in the baby to be born, same that can originate as a result of ignorance and lack of information from the side of the expectant, future mother regarding biological and environmental biological risks factors. Motivated by these questions, we asked ourselves ¿What is the relationship existing between the level of knowledge of prenatal risk factors for the prevention of disabilities and personal development of adolescent, pregnant mothers in the Southern Section of Lima? This is a study of the descriptive type and of correlation design performed on a sample of 328 pregnant adolescents between 13 and 19 years of age in the Southern Section of Lima. The results show the existence of a statistically significant, positive and of tall degree correlation between the total risk factors and dangers of prenatal disability and total risk factors personal development. Significant statistical differences were also found between all levels of knowledge of risk factors and dangers of prenatal disability according to age. And lastly, pregnant adolescents present a profile of moderate personal development and a low short level of general knowledge regarding the risks factors and dangers of prenatal disability.

Full textOBJETIVE: To determine the degree of family functionality exists in pregnant adolescents who attended the Maternal Perinatal Institute in Lima, Peru in November-December period of 2011 by applying the modified family Apgar test. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A descriptive study involving 130 pregnant teenage women between 12 and 17 who are treated in inpatient services, psycho, and outpatient prenatal stimulation of the Maternal Perinatal Institute. Data were collected through a survey type form. Data analysis was done using the statistical package of Excel and SPSS. RESULTS: Most pregnant teenagers have a dysfunctional family of type (90%). Regarding the area of adaptation 75% had dysfunctional families, of which 37% were mild in the area of participation, 81% have dysfunctional families, of which 36% was mild. On the growth area, 69% had dysfunctional families, of which 43% was mild. Regarding the area affected 87% of respondents had dysfunctional families, within which 32% was mild, moderate and another 32%. Finally in the resource area, 85% had dysfunctional families, of which 34% was moderate. CONCLUSION: Family functioning, as defined by the family Apgar test modified the majority of pregnant adolescents is dysfunctional, which is present in all five areas, of which the degree of dysfunction that occurred most frequently was the mild family dysfunction. The sample consists of 116 postpartum adolescents, divided into two groups of 58 participants each. Data were collected through structured interview and review of the charts. In the data analysis used descriptive statistics and chi square test, with statistical significance level of 0.05 (p <0.05). Results: The average age of postpartum adolescents was 17.1 ± 1.2 years. Of the participants, 56.9% achieved the level of education incomplete secondary, 50.9% report single marital status. The type of domestic violence was the most frequent psychological abuse (94.8%), followed by physical violence (17.2%) and sexual violence (8.6%). In the group with domestic violence during pregnancy was significantly higher frequency of adverse maternal outcomes, which were: urinary tract infection (37.9%), anemia (34.5%), premature rupture of membranes (8.6%), preeclampsia (8.6%), preterm delivery (8.5%), threatened abortion (5.2%), and route of termination of pregnancy was mostly vaginal delivery. In the presence of domestic violence, significant difference were found for urinary tract infection, anemia and preterm delivery. Preeclampsia was significant in the group with physical violence. Preterm birth mother was the only outcome with significant association (p <0.05) for different types of domestic violence. Conclusions: Adverse maternal outcomes are more common in postpartum adolescents with domestic violence during pregnancy. Significant association was found for urinary tract infection, anemia and preterm birth. In the postpartum adolescents who were victims of domestic violence in pregnancy, 81% with adverse maternal outcomes. Full textAbstract: This research aims to measure the relationship between anxiety and emotion regulation, and how they influence motor performance in teenagers from a development soccer team, under time restriction and no time restriction. In addition, it intends to analyze the relationship between trait anxiety and state anxiety, the relationship between time restriction and anxiety (trait and state), and its effects on performance, and finally the relationship between emotion regulation and anxiety. The study had 65 male participants (M=14.88, DE=1.31) and used a quasi-experimental design with three dependent variables measured with the STAI (Spielberger, Gorsuch, & Lushene, Inventario de la ansiedad rasgo-estado (IDARE, versión en español del STAI [State Trait – Anxiety Inventary]), 1970), Emotion regulation Questionnaire in its Spanish version and the McDonald Soccer Wall Volley Test (1951). The results show a difference in the quality of performance rather than the quantity, with reappraisal regulation being the one that produced fewer errors in participants with lower trait anxiety. Additionally, the results showed a significant relationship between trait anxiety and state anxiety (r=.436, p=.00), and a direct relationship between state anxiety and number of errors. Also, they showed an inverse correlation (r= -.260, p=.037) between errors and emotional regulation, where a bigger score in reappraisal regulation meant less errors made by participants.

Full textNowadays, obesity is characterized as a disease of multiple causes, its a serious illness and with high incidence in developed and developing countries. This way, it is possible to consider that obesity can be analyzed by various multifactorial features as genetic, social, and affective. In this sense, this dissertation says some affective aspects in obesity and overweights problematic in adolescent women, seeking to verify possible failures in affective relation mother and daughter, in the early stages of development of the girl. This study, is based on theoretical conceptions of Winnicott (1983, 2000, 2005, 2006), Levinsky (1995), Barbosa Silva (2005), Bruno (2011) and Cardoso (2008). It was used as methodological procedure the qualitative approach of Oral Life History that privileges the narratives of the subject as knowledge their affective experiences. Thus, they have been recorded interviews with obese adolescents or overweight 13 to 18 years who are part of the screening or are in the nutritional treatment Clinic-School of Nutrition of Biological Sciences and Health College (Cesmac) in Maceió, Alagoas. In this way, the narratives of the interviewed adolescents wove their life story, they are presenting significant data such as the relationship with the mother, the family context, the own act of adolescent and the dealing with conflicts in daily life as important aspects and as possible hypotheses to bring on the onset of obesity and overweight in these adolescent women. Each studied context, reveals singularities mother and daughter relationship and it stands as fundamental to the development and the construction girls maturing in childhood, and mainly, in youth.

Full textLas conductas suicidas constituyen un fenómeno complejo de abordar que ha adquirido gran relevancia en los últimos años, especialmente en los adolescentes, ya que la incidencia de intentos de suicidio alcanza índices alarmantes durante esta etapa evolutiva. En este contexto, la ideación suicida se constituye como un factor fundamental de estudio tanto para una mejor comprensión de este fenómeno como para determinar directrices respecto a una detección temprana y a la evaluación de riesgo de las conductas suicidas. El presente estudio aborda la magnitud de la ideación suicida presente en jóvenes que cursan actualmente enseñanza media, focalizándose en las diferencias existentes en la organización del sí mismo de esta población. Para ello, se evaluó la presencia de ideación suicida en los adolescentes, y se analizaron sus narrativas autobiográficas, comparando luego la organización del sí mismo de los adolescentes con y sin ideación suicida. Lo anterior enmarcado en un Enfoque Constructivista Evolutivo en la línea piagetana. Los resultados indican que un 47% de la muestra estudiada refiere poseer ideación suicida. En la comparación de grupos, se evidencia que los adolescentes que refieren presentar dicha variable, poseen un balance evolutivo en mayor desequilibrio, son en su mayoría mujeres, se ubican en una misma etapa de desarrollo del sí mismo, e incluyen en su totalidad a quienes refirieron presentar intentos suicidas.

Full textNas últimas décadas, muito tem sido pesquisado acerca da gravidez na adolescência e a respeito de populações de rua; entretanto, pouco foi publicado no referente à jovem mãe em situação de rua. Este estudo possui o intuito de preencher esta lacuna. Com a finalidade de investigar os contextos de vida e as vivências de maternidade em adolescentes em situação de rua, foram entrevistadas vinte e uma adolescentes residentes em oito domicílios transitórios na cidade de São Paulo. Utilizando uma abordagem qualitativa, especificamente a Grounded Theory, realizou-se uma análise descritiva dos principais conteúdos das entrevistas enquanto num segundo momento, foi feita uma leitura psicanalítica. Os principais temas se desenvolveram em torno dos seguintes eixos: trajetória, vida familiar, vida de rua, sexualidade, gravidez, presença do parceiro, maternidade, maternidade no abrigo, vivências da maternidade. Os dados levantados por este estudo trazem à tona algumas hipóteses. A maior parte das adolescentes cresceu em contextos de pobreza chefiados pela mãe. A vida familiar foi marcada por instabilidade; muitas mudanças casuais de domicílio, geralmente regidas por conflitos nos relacionamentos, abandono, não ter onde/com quem ficar e, ainda, por um estilo de vida familiar nômade. Apesar de retratado com rejeição e conflito, o relacionamento com a mãe foi, em geral, referência enquanto a relação com o pai foi hostil ou ausente. A rua foi retratada como um lugar onde ‘tudo’ é possível, drogas e sexo são utilizados sem muito cuidado, mas que, com a aproximação do nascimento do bebê, vai se tornando inviável. Grande parte dos relacionamentos com o parceiro foram ocasionais e por pouco tempo. A maior parte das jovens recebeu a notícia da gravidez com surpresa e rejeição. O abrigo, apesar de visto com ambivalência, vai se constituindo como um lugar que as acolhe, tornando possível a vivência da maternidade. A hipótese da maternidade na adolescente em situação de rua como um fato positivo e paulatinamente construído com a função de dar sentido a uma existência cujos vínculos significativos foram pobremente investidos. O investimento necessário para que seja possível a construção de um vínculo com a própria adolescente e da mesma com o bebê é fundamental e necessita de tempo.
In recent decades there has been a great deal of research regarding adolescent pregnancy and the homeless population, however, little has been published concerning young homeless mothers. This study is intended to close this gap. In order to investigate the living context and experience of motherhood in homeless adolescents, 21 teens residing in eight shelters in the city of São Paulo were interviewed. Using a qualitative approach based on Grounded Theory, a descriptive analysis of the main interview contents was carried out, followed by a psychoanalytic reading of this same material. The main themes came out on the following axes: direction, family life, life on the street, sexuality, pregnancy, presence of a partner, maternity, maternity in the shelter, experiences with maternity. The information brought out by this study yields some hypotheses. Most of the teens grew up in home contexts of poverty headed by their mother. Family life was marked by instability; many offhand changes in residence, generally sparked by relational conflicts; neglect; having nowhere to stay and no one to stay with; and by a nomadic family lifestyle. Although marked by rejection and conflict, the maternal relationship is generally referential while the paternal relationship is either hostile or absent. The street is described as a place where anything goes, marked by careless use of drugs and sex, but this becomes unworkable with the approach of the birth of the baby. Most partner relationships are casual and short-term. Teens characteristically receive news of their pregnancy with surprise and rejection. Despite being seen with ambivalence, the shelter becomes a place of refuge that makes the experience of motherhood possible. Homeless teen maternity can be viewed as a positive fact gradually evolving in order to give meaning to an existence where significant bonds are poorly developed. As a result, creating bonds with the adolescent herself and giving her time to construct a relationship with her baby are fundamental.

Resumo: Introdução: As características emocionais da Fibrose Cistica na adolescência, na visão pessoal de quem a vivencia é um tema pouco referenciado na literatura científica. A adolescência é um período por si próprio, carregado de possibilidades de conflitos emocionais. A associação com uma doença crônica e seu manejo, nesta etapa da vida pode maximizar estes conflitos. Objetivo: O presente estudo teve como objetivo compreender como é para o adolescente vivenciar a fibrose cística (FC), doença que necessita tratamento diário por toda vida e participação ativa do próprio paciente. A pesquisa estudou como os adolescentes convivem com a doença, quais suas necessidades e como eles percebem o futuro. Método: Utilizou-se o método clinico qualitativo, empregando-se a técnica de entrevista semi estruturada de questões abertas. Quarenta e dois pacientes aceitaram participar do estudo. Suas falas foram divididas em oito categorias e dez subcategorias que descrevem suas respostas em relação á vivência com a FC. Resultados: Os resultados evidenciam que os adolescentes apresentam sentimentos de medo da morte, vergonha, raiva, perda da liberdade, da escola, dos amigos e da confiança em si mesmo, necessidade de ajustamento ás rotinas diferenciadas, necessidade de igualdade e aceitação, perspectiva negativa e positiva em relação ao futuro e expectativas em relação ao futuro com FC. Conclusões: Os sentimentos relatados são influenciados pela doença e dificultam a maneira como eles lidam com ela. Espera-se que a compreensão dessas vivências possa estimular estudos longitudinais nos centros que atendem pacientes com FC
Abstract: Introduction: The emotional characteristics of a chronic disease in adolescence, in a personal vision of those who experience it, is a topic not much referenced in the scientific literature. Adolescence by itself is a life period full of emotional conflict possibilities. The association with a chronic disease and how to cope with it at this specific stage of life can increase these conflicts. Objective: The present research goal is to understand how adolescents deal with cystic fibrosis (CF), an illness which needs a diary treatment for a lifetime and active patient participation. It highlighted how adolescents live with the disease, what are their needs and what they expect from the future. Method: A clinical qualitative method was used employing a semi structured interview technique of open questions. A total of forty two patients accept to be involved in the study. Their speeches were divided into eight categories that describe the patient's answers according to how adolescents cope with CF. Results: Results highlighted that adolescents show feelings like fear of death, shame, rage, lost of freedom, school year, friend and self-confidence, needs of adjustment to differentiated routines, needs of equality and acceptance, negative perspective for the future, positive perspective for the future and expectations about the future with CF. Conclusions: Such feelings are influenced by the disease and input barriers on how adolescents cope with it. The comprehension of how to deal with a chronic disease should stimulate longitudinal studies at all centers that assist CF patients

Abstract This study s aim is to contribute to the understanding of the social construction of childhood and adolescence in Brazil. It is integrated in the research line developed by NEGRI Nucleus of Sutdies of Gender, Race and Age, from the Pontificia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. The object of this investigation is the apprehension of the conceptions of childhood underlying the psychological reports that integrate the edicts of Judiciary Power in the processes about sheltering of children and adolescents. The empirical material analyzed gather 60 psychological reportsabout 18 cases involving 42 children and adolescents, produced by 15 psychologists who work at the Varas da Infancia e Juventude de Santo Amaro e Santana in São Paulo, during 2004. The theoretical basis is linked with the new paradigms to the study of childhood that constitute a new disciplinar ambit - Studies on childhood as named by English speaking authors, or Sociology of Childhood , as named by French speaking researchers. The results point out that the children and adolescents s voices at the psychological reports , that sustain the judiciary decisions, are rarely listened to and they do not take part on their own sheltering and unsheltering. What prevails is the speech of relatives and technicians. This shows that childhood is still a subordinated category. The contradictions about keeping the right of family life and that of protecting children and adolescents in asylums throw light at the tension between the protective and the autonomist tendencies present at Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente. The results point out the situations of human suffering and the deep social unevenness to which children and adolescents are submitted.
Esta dissertação tem como objetivo geral contribuir para a compreensão da construção social da categoria infância e adolescência na sociedade brasileira. Nesse sentido, integra-se à linha de pesquisa do NEGRI Núcleo de Estudos das Relações de Gênero, Raça e Idade da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. O objeto da investigação é a apreensão das concepções de infância subjacentes aos relatórios psicológicos que integram autos do Poder Judiciário relativos a processos de abrigamento de crianças e adolescentes. O material empírico analisado consiste em 60 relatórios psicológicos inseridos em 18 autos judiciais relativos ao abrigamento de 42 crianças e adolescentes, nas Varas da Infância e Juventude de Santo Amaro e Santana na Comarca de São Paulo no ano de 2004. O referencial teórico empregado se vincula aos novos paradigmas para o estudo da infância que vêm se forjando em novo campo disciplinar - Estudos sobre a infância (expressão promulgada pelos autores anglo-saxônicos) ou Sociologia da Infância (expressão adotada pelos autores francófonos). Os resultados mostram que a voz própria das crianças e dos adolescentes encontrou um reduzido espaço de expressão nos relatórios psicológicos, que embasam as medidas judiciais de abrigamento. Crianças e adolescentes são representados por adultos que decidem sobre suas vidas, sem considerá-los como atores sociais capazes de opinar sobre seus próprios interesses. Eles não participaram das decisões judiciais sobre seu abrigamento e desabrigamento, expressando sentimentos de dor e sofrimento pelas situações de separação e desamparo a que são submetidos. Há predominância do registro da fala das mães e das profissionais para as quais a infância se mantém como uma categoria social subordinada. A pesquisa evidencia paradoxos entre os dispositivos legais e as práticas de abrigamento, bem como a tensão entre as tendências protecionista e autonomista do direito, presente no Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente. Os resultados salientam as situações de sofrimento humano e as profundas desigualdades sociais às quais as crianças e adolescentes são submetidos em função do fator etário.

Full textThe father character and its actual configuration reveals that men are, more and more, conquering the role of the childrens keepers in the family. However, there are very few studies about divorced fathers responsible for bringing up their children alone. Looking for filling this gap and maximizing the comprehension on the links between fathers and their sons/daughters, the object of this study consisted on analyzing how fathers perceive and follow their sons and daughters professional choice process and how this father , himself, sees his participation in this process.The research used the method of qualitative exploratory study. The participants were chosen intentionally. There were four divorced fathers that opted for not getting married again, with children who were choosing their professions and five adolescents, both genres, in secondary schools or starting a graduation course. All of them live with their fathers. The tool used in this research were two semi-structured interviews carried out in a semi-directed way. One of the interviews was directed to the father and the other to his son(s)/daughter(s). The questions were transcribed and analyzed based on the theme analysis technique. The collection of information was done in a Private Secondary School located in Recife. The results revealed fathers with great expectations regarding their son/ daughters professional future. Among them, the desire that their son and daughters repeat their professions; the respect to their choices, the desire that their sons and daughters are successful; the guidance regarding the doubts they may have about the choice and professions; the readiness in advising about the reality regarding the professions, jobs market, salaries and professional career. In addition, the researched fathers demonstrated that they may influence, they are disposed to share, advise, support e be close to their sons in relation to their professional choices and future life projects. In the same way, the sons and daughters had the perception that their fathers are worried, take care and influence them on their decisions. To conclude, we can say that the relationship between divorced fathers and their sons and daughters is full of affection, comprehension, dialogue and love. Generally speaking, the fathers are worried but mainly they take care of their children as a whole, including their future career plan

Full textA adolescência tem sido focalizada, sob o ponto de vista da Psicologia tradicional, como uma etapa natural e universal do desenvolvimento humano, que considera o sujeito em uma perspectiva individualizante. Tal compreensão traz repercussões não apenas para o entendimento acerca da adolescência como para as práticas realizadas com este público, notadamente a pedagógica. Neste sentido, apoiamo-nos no Enfoque Histórico-Cultural, fundamentação teóricometodológica que busca entender dialeticamente as relações entre indivíduo e sociedade, destacando a dimensão histórica de sua constituição, para a realização da presente tese. Assim, o objetivo geral desta pesquisa é investigar a compreensão do professor de adolescentes sobre as características psicológicas dos seus alunos e como esta influencia sua prática pedagógica. Tivemos como objetivos específicos a realização de uma caracterização psicológica da adolescência; a identificação e análise das compreensões dos professores sobre as características psicológicas na adolescência e as práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas a partir destas compreensões. Por meio de uma abordagem qualitativa de pesquisa, os procedimentos metodológicos utilizados para a apreensão da realidade investigada foram questionários seguidos da realização de entrevistas semidirigidas com nove professores de adolescentes de uma escola pública federal de Minas Gerais. As análises destacam a compreensão docente como aspecto significativo no desenvolvimento da personalidade do adolescente. Identificamos que esta compreensão não requer do professor apenas conhecimentos gerais sobre a adolescência como etapa evolutiva, mas também a observação da singularidade de cada aluno. Outro aspecto importante é o posicionamento docente mediante tal compreensão, ou seja, a sua prática pedagógica que, por sua vez, está inserida num contexto escolar de uma dada sociedade. Identificamos que a adolescência é uma etapa do desenvolvimento humano que, como qualquer outra, possui características, peculiaridades, tendências psicológicas e regularidades, constituídas a partir das condições concretas em que vivem os sujeitos. Contudo, a situação social do desenvolvimento é uma categoria central para entendermos todas as transformações que ocorrem nesta fase, pois diz respeito à grande reestruturação que se opera nas relações do sujeito com o seu meio, por meio de mudanças que apresentam, sobretudo, um caráter qualitativo, resultando em novas formações na personalidade. Dentre as várias dimensões que constituem a situação social do desenvolvimento, as relações entre professor e aluno tiveram destaque neste estudo, uma vez que as compreensões dos professores sobre as características dos adolescentes foram, preponderantemente, relacionadas a este aspecto. O professor se depara, no cotidiano escolar, com estudantes que demandam formas de atuação muito peculiares à etapa em que vivem, exigindo-lhe determinados conhecimentos e habilidades que ultrapassam o domínio dos conteúdos e apontam para a importância de saber conduzir as relações interpessoais, considerando as características psicológicas desse público. Nesse sentido, torna-se fundamental a organização do coletivo da sala de aula, tendo em vista os impactos deste na formação da personalidade do aluno, cujo processo intensivo de formação da identidade pessoal o torna extremamente sensível às opiniões sociais. Esperamos que as sistematizações realizadas no presente estudo contribuam para a produção de subsídios teóricos sobre as relações entre ensino e desenvolvimento de adolescentes, no Enfoque Histórico-Cultural. Este trabalho apresenta-se como um conjunto de informações que podem configurar-se em pressupostos para a constituição de um Ensino Desenvolvimental, voltado para a adolescência. Tais pressupostos podem, ainda tornar-se fonte de estudos e de outras pesquisas, além de constituir-se em conteúdos para cursos de formação inicial e continuada de professores da educação básica.
Adolescence has been focused, under the point of view of traditional Psychology, as a natural and universal phase of human development, which considers the subject on na individualizing perspective. Such understanding brings out repercussions not only to the understanding about adolescence but to the practices driven to this public, notedly the pedagogical one. In this sense, one has searched support on the Historical-Cultural Approach, a theoreticalmethodological foundation which tries to understand dialetically the relationships between the individual and the society, highlighting the historical dimension of its constitution, to do this thesis. Thus, the general objective of such research is to investigate the teacher´s understanding of adolescents on the psychological characteristics of his students and how it influences his pedagogical practice. One has had as specific objectives the building of a psychological characterization of adolescence; the identification and analysis of teacher´s understanding about the psychological characteristics of adolescence and the pedagogical practices developed from such understanding. Through a qualitative approach of research, the methodological procedures used to apprehend the reality investigated were questionnaires followed semi addressed interviews with nine teachers of adolescents from a federal state school of Minas Gerais. The analysis pinpoint the teacher´s understanding as a significant aspect in the development of the adolescent´s personality. One has identified that such understanding does not require from the teacher only general knowledge about adolescence as an evolutionary phase, but also the observation of singularity of each student. Another important aspect is the teacher´s positioning before such understanding, that is, his pedagogical practice which, by its turn, is inserted on the school context of a certain society. One has identified that adolescence is a phase of human development which, as any other, has characteristics, peculiarities, psychological tendencies and regularities, constituted from concrete conditions under which subjects live. However, the social situation of the development is a central category to understand all the transformations which take place at this phase, for it is related to the great restructuration which takes place in the relationships between the subject and his environment, through changes that present, above all, a qualitative character, resulting in new formations of personality. Among the several dimensions which constitute the social situation of the development, the relationships between student and teacher have had a highlight in this study, once the understanding of teachers about adolescent´s characteristics was, predominantly, related to such aspect. The teacher faces, in the school daily routine, students which demand ways of acting too much peculiar to the phase they live, demanding form him such knowledge and abilities which surpass the domain of contents and point to the importance to know how to conduct the personal relationships, considering the psychological characteristics of such public. In this sense, it is fundamental the organization fo the colective of the classroom, having in mind the impacts of such on the sutdent´s personality, whose intensive formation process of personal identity makes him extremely sensitive to social opinions. One hope that such systematizations done in the present study contribute to the production of theoretical subsidies about the relationships between teaching and adolescent´s development, in the Historical-Cultural approach. This work presents as a group of information which may configure into assumptions to the constitution of a Developmental Teaching, turned to adolescence. Such assumptions may even become source of studies and of other researches, as well as constitute of contents for pre service teaching and post graduation for teachers of elementar school.
