Abstract:
Granite rocks occur as pebbles within the Parnassos flysch deposits, in the area of Iti (Central Greece). The granites are per aluminous, calcic rocL· with S-type characteristics. Geochemical features reveal that these rocL· are not co-genetic to the Iti ophiolite but they have been derived from magmas affected by a subduction component. They display common characteristics with VAG-type lithologies. Geochemically, they mostly resemble nearby granite clastsfrom a Triassic flyschoid from Evia (Liri Unit), and lesser those within the Parnassos flysch at Amfissa and Pliocene fluvial deposits at Pa

Abstract:
The endophytic strain Amfr20 was isolated from roots of the olive tree var. Amfissa. Based on core-genome phylogenomic analyses, it was classified as Bacillus velezensis. The isolate showed positive results in numerous plant growth promoting traits, as well as in abiotic stress tolerance and in colonization related traits in vitro. Furthermore, the strain exhibited antifungal activity in vitro through diffusible and volatile compounds. Whole genome analysis revealed that the strain possesses large and various arsenals of secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters involved in the bioagent’

The increasing prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS), a serious condition associated with elevated risks of cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and type 2 diabetes, underscores the urgent need for effective diagnostic tools. This research carefully examines the effectiveness of 16 diverse machine learning (ML) models in predicting MetS, a multifaceted health condition linked to increased risks of heart disease and other serious health complications. AimTo present the epidemiology and psychological predictors of Internet Addiction (IA) among Greek University students.MethodsThis random sample consisted of 3545 students, drawn from 24 higher education institutions (1618/1927 M/F, mean age 20.12 ± 2.4 years). The survey was conducted in the 4 Greek cities: Athens, Preveza, Thessaloniki and Amfissa.ResultsThe prevalence rates of IA according to Young's Test in the four cities were: Athens (17.5%), Preveza (15.9%), Thessaloniki (19.3%), Amfissa (16.3%). There was a statistically significant association between location and IA (χ2 = 28.251, df

Abstract:
Verticillium wilt is the most serious olive disease worldwide. The olive-infecting Verticillium dahliae pathotypes have been classified as defoliating (D) and nondefoliating (ND), and the disease is mainly controlled in olive orchards by using resistant or tolerant cultivars. Limited information is available about the nature of resistance in most of the olive cultivars. In the present study, the phenolic responses of the susceptible to V. dahliae olive cv. Amfissis and the resistant cv. Koroneiki upon D and ND V. dahliae infection were monitored in relation to the fungal DNA levels in the vasc

The amphibious robot, which has the capability of multi-mode motion, can maneuver diverse environments with high mobility and adaptability. These are employed in the area of reconnaissance, search and rescue operations, and monitoring. The existing amphibious robots have lower maneuverability over the crawling period on uneven and slope surfaces on the land. In this paper, a kinematic model of the amphibious robot based on virtual prototyping is designed for multi-mode locomotion. Leaf analysis is essential for diagnosing nutritional status and guiding fertilizer application. The present study aimed to investigate the appropriate time for leaf sampling and the effect of genotype on olive nutrition. We determined leaf nutrient concentrations of calcium (Ca), iron (Fe), and manganese (Mn) in five Greek (‘Amfissis’, ‘Chondrolia Chalkidikis’, ‘Koroneiki’, ‘Mastoidis’, and ‘Kalamon’) and one Spanish (‘Picual’) variety from May 2019 to April 2020. The concentrations of Ca, Fe, and Mn were significantly affected by genotype and season. The highest concentrations for all nutrie
