Validation is an applied approach to verify that a method is suitable to function as a quality control tool. The objective of any analytical measurement is to obtain consistent, reliable and accurate data. Validated analytical methods play a major role in achieving this goal. An analytical method consists of the techniques, method, procedure and protocol. Analytical method validation includes the determination of accuracy, precision, LOD, LOQ, linearity and range. The coherent body of research described in the existing published work is concerned with new assay method development and validation using novel systematic approaches for pharmaceutical and diagnostic compounds. The first stage of the research was to study how analytical method development and validation are typically carried out at present and to formulate this into a simple step-by-step approach. Such a template and protocol was not only used as the foundation of this research programme but could also serve as a simple systematic guide for other practitioners and those new to the field. Furt

The developed framework couples a panel method to capture blade surface and near-wake aerodynamics with a viscous vortex particle method (VVPM) for modeling the far-wake. The resulting formulation yields a nonlinear time-periodic (NLTP) system described by ordinary differential equations (ODEs) in first-order form. Background Early detection and identification of faulty greenhouse operation is essential, if losses are to be minimized by taking immediate corrective actions. Automatic detection and identification would also free the greenhouse manager to tend to his other business. Original objectives The general objective was to develop a method, or methods, for the detection, identification and accommodation of faults in the greenhouse. More specific objectives were as follows: 1. Develop accurate systems models, which will enable the detection of small deviations from normal behavior (of sensors, contro

Investigates and improves methods of predicting cooling rates during pipeline maintenance welding. This project was funded by the American Petroleum Institute. The work was performed by Battelle Memorial Institute and Edison Welding Institute. The scope of work included (1) a review of three previous research efforts to develop satisfactory methods for welding appurtenances to in-service pipelines, (2) a review of a pipeline leak and rupture incidents associated with appurtenances, (3) the enhancement of existing analytical models for predicting cooling rates and temperatures during welding on

Objectives. To examine the evidence on whether and how healthcare algorithms (including algorithm-informed decision tools) exacerbate, perpetuate, or reduce racial and ethnic disparities in access to healthcare, quality of care, and health outcomes, and examine strategies that mitigate racial and ethnic bias in the development and use of algorithms. Data sources. We searched published and grey literature for relevant studies published between January 2011 and February 2023. Based on expert guidance, we determined that earlier articles are unlikely to reflect current algorithms. We also hand-se
