Abstract We have investigated crossed Andreev reflection in a ferromagnet-superconductor-ferromagnet junction based on the time-reversal invariant Weyl semimetals. We demonstrate that this junction can provide a suitable platform for generating pure crossed Andreev reflection signals. For bipolar junction, n-doped left ferromagnet and p-doped right ferromagnet, pure co-tunneling can happen in the antiparallel configuration of the magnetizations of ferromagnets, while a pure crossed Andreev reflection is possible only in the parallel configuration. However, when both of the ferromagnetic leads

The novelty of the method discussed in this paper is the inclusion of a water-injection cycle post CO2-injection "huff". Simulation models showed that this modification significantly increases the yield of incremental oil and increases retention of injected CO2 in the reservoir. A field experiment was designed and implemented in a San Andres field, using a specially designed CO2-gas lift bottom hole assembly that allowed injection and production with the same bo

Abstract ENCIO (European Network for Component Integration and Optimization) is a European project aiming at qualifying materials, components, manufacturing processes, as well as erection and repair concepts, as follow-up of COMTES700 activities and by means of erecting and operating a new Test Facility. The 700°C technology is a key factor for the increasing efficiency of coal fired power plants, improving environmental and economic sustainability of coal fired power plants and achieving successful deployment of carbon capture and storage technologies. The ENCIO-project is financed by industr

ABSTRACT We investigate horizontal stress variation in the vicinity of the deep-seated Balarud Lineament in the northern part of Iran's Dezful Embayment in the Zagros Fold and Thrust Belt (ZFTB). Both petrophysical data from drilled oil and gas wells (3-4 km deep) and earthquake focal plane solutions (6 to 25 km deep) are used to constrain the orientation and relative magnitudes of the local and regional stresses. The stress orientations in the sedimentary rock strata and the basement are of two entirely distinct types. In the basement, constant regional NE-SW SHmax orientation is observed in

Our Client was commissioned to construct an onshore high pressure gas pipeline. The pipeline was to be about 50km in length, 1066mm diameter, 15.88mm nominal wall thickness and constructed from X65 material. During the route selection phase it was discovered that it would be very difficult to avoid passing the pipeline through a locally highly populated area. In view of this it was naturally decided that the pipeline should be constructed from heavy wall sectioned pipe to mitigate the threat of failure due to causes including mechanical damage and corrosion. However, there was still a concern

AbstractObservational records provide a strong basis for constraining sea ice models within a narrow range of climate conditions. Given current trends away from these conditions, models need to be tested over a wider range of climate states. The past provides many such examples based on paleoclimate data, including abrupt tipping points. However, the millennial-duration of typical paleoclimatesimulations necessitates balancing the inclusion and sophistication of model processes against computational cost. We investigate the impact on climate mean states and variability of introducing sea ice d
