Abstract:
Ankle sprain is an acute injury to the musculoskeletal system involving the ligaments in the ankle. An ankle sprain is a stretching or tearing of the ligaments in the ankle (ankle). Ligaments function as connective tissue between bones that can help control range of motion and stabilize bones when moving. When the ligaments in the ankle are injured or torn, it causes loss of movement stability and can cause pain. Ankle sprains often occur in sports athletes and high heel users who use their feet a lot.

Acrometastases are rare and often misdiagnosed or overlooked. When it involves the feet, it generally attacks the larger bones containing the higher amounts of red marrow. The patient may or may not have a known history of cancer, which makes diagnosis much more difficult. The symptomatology is generally vague and can mimic other conditions, such as osteomyelitis, gouty rheumatoid arthritis, Reiter's syndrome, Paget's disease, osteochondral lesions, and ligamentous sprains. Therefore, the physician must consider metastatic disease in the differential diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is made, the

The ankle joint is between the leg and the foot. It is the synovial joint of hinge variety. This joint is form by three bones tibia, fibula and talus. The articular surface are covered with hyaline cartilage. There are three ligaments attached to this joint Capsular ligament, Medial ligament and Lateral ligament. Medial and lateral ligament are strongest. They are responsible for stability of the Ankle Joint. Ankle joint performs dorsiflexion and plantar flexion movements. Additionally, ankle injury complexity associated with risk of Charcot in patients with a syndesmotic injury remains unstudied. Background: Accessory ossicles, sesamoid bones, and biphalangism of toes are the most common developmental variations of the foot. These bones may be associated with painful syndromes; however, their clinical importance is not well understood because the reported prevalence varies widely. Therefore, we aimed to investigate these variants in Turkish subjects. Methods: A total of 1651 foot radiographs were retrospectively assessed. Radiographs of feet were examined regarding the prevalence, sex, and bilaterality of accessory ossicles, sesamoid bones, and biphalangism in Turkish subjects. Results

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES: There are several various accessory ossicles and sesamoid bones that can be seen throughout the foot and ankle, with reported incidence of 21.2% and 9.6%, respectively. Accessory ossicles and sesamoid bones usually remain asymptomatic until an inciting event (trauma, overuse) occurs and can then cause pain or degenerative changes. They can also be found in routine imaging. One of these confusing findings are lesser metatarsal sesamoids, which are a rare occurrence. Here radiographically we demonstrate the first such case of a fifth metatarsal bipartite sesamoid. ME

AbstractThe ankle and foot have numerous bones and complex joints that can be affected by several types of inflammatory arthritis with different patterns and various radiologic signs, depending on the phase of the disease. Involvement of these joints is most frequently seen in peripheral spondyloarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in adults and juvenile idiopathic arthritis in children. Although radiographs are a mainstay in the diagnostic process, ultrasonography and especially magnetic resonance imaging allow early diagnosis and are crucial diagnostic tools. Metastases to the bones of the lower extremities from prostate carcinomas are rare and are usually associated with diffuse metastatic disease or primary tumors of the abdomen and lungs. I present the case of a patient who presented with lower leg pain and had undiagnosed prostate carcinoma. Unlike previous reports of prostate carcinoma, this rare case includes magnetic resonance imaging, histology, and medical management. This case is unique in its presentation and has not been described previously in the literature. (J Am Podiatr Med Assoc 98(3): 242–245, 2008)
