Abstract: Crows are rare in the Cuban fossil record. To date, there have been two reports of the Cuban crow Corvus nasicus, one from late Quaternary deposits of the San Felipe tar pits in northeastern Matanzas Province, and the other from Cuevas Blancas cave deposits in Havana Province. Here I report two additional Corvus cf. nasicus specimens from a late Quaternary cave deposit in northern Matanzas Province. This record supports a more western distribution in Matanzas during the Quaternary. Keywords: cave deposits, Corvus nasicus, Cuba, fossil, Quaternary, West Indies Resumen: Restos fósiles

The development of solar energy at a regional scale necessitates a thorough understanding of available resources. Cuba, facing prolonged economic, environmental, and energy crises, urgently needs to enhance its sustainability through solar energy. Although solar resource mapping is widespread, Cuba lacks extensive field measurements, often relying on models that may not be ideally suited for large regions, like Matanzas province. Spanning over 12,000 km² with nearly 150 km between its northern and southern extremes, Matanzas presents challenges for high-resolution solar mapping. This study int

Among the many contributions to world music that have been cultivated in Cuba, one of the most important and influential styles is guaguancó. Guaguancó is one of three early forms of rumba: a folkloric performance art comprising music for percussion and voice accompanied by dance. The guaguancó is the youngest of the three remaining early rumba styles. A typical guaguancó performance features a percussion ensemble, lead singer, chorus, and two dancers. Atmospheric storage tanks (AST) are indeed one of the most prone equipment to industrial accidents in the oil and gas industry. Several studies have analyzed major accidents in process industries, including those involving atmospheric storage tanks. Analysis revealed that storage tanks were involved in a significant number of incidents [1],[2],[3]. These accidents can have severe consequences, including fires, explosions, releases of hazardous materials and loss of human life [4],[5]. A recent example of the catastrophic consequences of accident involving tanks is the Matanzas tank fire happen
