Abstract:
Rotary flexible manufacturing cell with multi-station automatic stretching is designed in this paper to meet the requirements of the machining process of cylindrical drawing parts as well as the needs of different stations for multi-drawing. The cell uses fixed circular disc worktable with multi-station. Each machining station has hydraulic stretcher to complete the drawing of the workpiece. Flexible manipulator finishes automatic loading and unloading among hydraulic stretchers. Gripper of manipulator with automatic center aligning and size control can grip workpiece in various sizes and has the function of self-centering. This equipment has completely realized all the stretching processes automaticly from feeding sheet metal to sending and forming workpieces. It can improve production efficiency and quality. It can also improve safety, reliability and cost efficiency. When replacing worked parts is needed, simply replace modular mold of every station in fixed circular disc worktable.

Abstract:
Automatic meteorological station is important for meteorological observation and the existence of outliers in the observational data is inevitable. The paper proposes outlier detection for observational data of automatic meteorological station based on least square support vector machine (LS-SVM). The method establishes the LS-SVM model for the meteorological factor and uses the model to evaluate the observational data. If the observational data deviate from the model, they would be seemed as outliers. The ground temperature data observed by two real automatic meteorological stations are used in experiments. Experiments results verify that the proposed method realize outlier detection for observational data of automatic meteorological station effectively and ensures subsequent process and analysis of the meteorological data.

Abstract:
In the electronic devices, there are so many functions that we can use to make life easier. In the city especially, nearly all of them use technology as the system, it can also be used to store data, measuring data to help the others quantitative and qualitatively. One of the things that is very useful is the weather station, where the weather station used in the city to maintain the humidity, the intensity of the light, and the temperature. But in the rural areas, somehow the weather station is not available because of the limitation of the technology itself. And also, sometimes the place that we want to measure with is quite dangerous because there are so many predators. Because of that, we’ve come up to the new brand technology called Automatic Wireless Mobile Weather Station. This device helps us to measure the rural areas, dangerous places, using robot with wireless connection with weather station features. This device can be implemented into a moving robot and can also send us the data to the mobile phones through Bluetooth technology, and also it can measure the humidity, temperature, and the intensity of the light (unit of lux). Finally, the data can be controlled 24 hours through wireless connection, so we don’t really need to go into the location because we can control it using this Automatic Wireless Mobile Weather Station.

Abstract:
Hydraulic stretch forming is a very important technology. Punch press has achieved multi-station automatic processing in the press area, which has greatly improved the efficiency. However, the main domestic stretching machine is single-stretching hydraulic machine at present. Compared with punch press, hydraulic stretching machines take less space and have better security, but they make less efficiency and have lower degree of automation. Hence, in order to take the advantage of hydraulic stretching machines and enhance the automation level, studies on multi-position automatic stretching machine occupies an important position. This paper proposes a design scheme of Six-station Automatic Hydraulic Stretching Machine (SAHSM) according to the practical production. The overall 3D structure of SAHSM is designed based on Solidworks to prove the theoretical possibility of the program. Then modal analysis is operated based on FEA of the key components of stretching machine module to improve reliability of the product and overcome the disadvantage of the traditional checking method, the first two-order modes are obtained to prove the impossibility of the resonance. At last, ADAMS-based virtual prototype is analyzed to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the SAHSM dynamic design proposed in this paper

Abstract:
In order to overcome the vulnerability of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), the International Maritime Organization (IMO) initiated the ranging mode (R-Mode) of the automatic identification system (AIS) to provide resilient position data. As the existing AIS is a communication system, the number of shore stations as reference stations cannot satisfy positioning requirements. Especially in the area near a shore station, it is very common that a vessel can only receive signals from one shore station, where the traditional positioning method cannot be used. A novel position estimation method using multiple antennas on shipborne equipment is proposed here, which provides a vessel’s position even though the vessel can only receive signals from a single shore station. It is beneficial for solving positioning issues in proximity to the coast. Further, as the distances between different antennas to the shore station are not sufficiently independent, the positioning matrix can easily be near singularity or ill-conditioned; thus, an effective position solving method is derived. Furthermore, the proposed method is verified and evaluated in different scenarios by numerical simulation. We assessed the influencing factors of positioning performance, such as the vessel’s heading angle, the relative position, and the distances between the shore station and the vessel. The proposed method widely expands the application scope of the AIS R-Mode positioning system.

Abstract:
In the last few decades, photovoltaic (PV) power station installations have surged across the globe. The output efficiency of these stations deteriorates with the passage of time due to multiple factors such as hotspots, shaded cell or module, short-circuited bypass diodes, etc. Traditionally, technicians inspect each solar panel in a PV power station using infrared thermography to ensure consistent output efficiency. With the advancement of drone technology, researchers have proposed to use drones equipped with thermal cameras for PV power station monitoring. However, most of these drone-based approaches require technicians to manually control the drone which in itself is a cumbersome task in the case of large PV power stations. To tackle this issue, this study presents an autonomous drone-based solution. The drone is mounted with both RGB (Red, Green, Blue) and thermal cameras. The proposed system can automatically detect and estimate the exact location of faulty PV modules among hundreds or thousands of PV modules in the power station. In addition, we propose an automatic drone flight path planning algorithm which eliminates the requirement of manual drone control. The system also utilizes an image processing algorithm to process RGB and thermal images for fault detection. The system was evaluated on a 1-MW solar power plant located in Suncheon, South Korea. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our solution.

Abstract:
The Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE) has set up automatic weather stations at six sites on a 1000 km long traverse route between Syowa station (21 ma.s.l..) and Dome Fuji station (3810 ma.s.l.) since 1993. Large temperature rises in winter were observed several times in this area. There were two patterns of time delay of the temperature rises. One was that the temperature rise at Mizuho station preceded that at other stations, and the other was that the temperature rise at Dome Fuji station preceded the others. The former occurred when a disturbance came from the coast between east Enderby Land and the Amery Ice Shelf and strong winds destroyed the stable inversion layer. The latter occurred when the low-pressure center was near the coast of west Wilkes Land. in this case, temperature rise was caused by adveclion of warm air. The atmospheric pressure at Dome Fuji station and Relay Point oscillated with a period of 0.5 year and amplitude of about 15hPa. The pressure was higher in July and December, and was accompanied by a temperature rise. Fluctuations of hourly air temperature at Dome Fuji station were approximately twice as large as fluctuations at the other sites. The lapse rale of the annual mean temperature increased with elevation, while the monthly lapse rate was largest in April.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to propose a parallel automated assembly line system to produce multiple products in a semi-continuous system. Design/methodology/approach The control system developed in this research consists of a manufacturing system for two-level hierarchical dynamic decisions of autonomous/automated/automatic-guided vehicles (AGVs) dispatching/next station selection and machining schedules and a station control scheme for operational control of machines and components. In this proposed problem, the assignment of multiple AGVs to different assembly lines and the semi-continuous stations is a critical objective. AGVs and station scheduling decisions are made at the assembly line level. On the other hand, component and machining resource scheduling are made at the station level. Findings The proposed scheduler first decomposes the dynamic scheduling problems into a static AGV and machine assignment during each short-term rolling window. It optimizes weighted completion time of tasks for each short-term window by formulating the task and resource assignment problem as a minimum cost flow problem during each short-term scheduling window. A comprehensive decision making process and heuristics are developed for efficient implementation. A simulation study is worked out for validation. Originality/value Several assembly lines are configured to produce multiple products in which the technologies of machines are shared among the assembly lines when required. The sequence of stations is pre-specified in each assembly line and the components of a product are kept in machine magazine. The transportation between the stations in an assembly line (intra assembly line) and among stations in different assembly lines (inter assembly line) are performed using AGVs.

Abstract:
Aiming at the narrow and long tunnel structure, few internal features, and a large amount of point cloud data, the existing registration algorithms and commercial software registration results are not ideal, an iterative global registration algorithm is proposed for massive underground tunnel point cloud registration, which is composed of local initial pose acquisition and global adjustment. Firstly, the feature point coordinates in the point cloud are extracted, and then the station-by-station registration is performed according to the Rodrigues matrix. Finally, the registration result is considered as the initial value of the parameter, and the global adjustment of all observations is carried out. The observation values are weighted by the selection weight iteration method and the weights are constantly modified in the iteration process until the threshold conditions are met and the iteration stops. In this paper, the experimental data, made up of 85 stations of point cloud data, are from the Xiamen subway tunnel, which is about 1300 m long. When the accumulated error of station-to-station registration is too large, several stations are regarded as partial wholes, and the optimal registration is achieved through multiple global adjustments, and the registration accuracy is within 5 mm. Experimental results confirm the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm, which provides a new method for point cloud registration of underground space tunnel.

Abstract:
AbstractTwo automatic snow stations were deployed for one year (from December 2009–January 2011) in western Dronning Maud Land. The purposes of the experiment were: 1) to build a working snow station to measure the snow surface layer temperature, and 2) to use the data for snow heat and mass balance investigations. The data collection was successful and lasted about 400 days (9 December 2009–21 January 2011). The annual net snow accumulation at snow station 2 (continental ice sheet) was 86 cm (345 mm water equivalent) and at snow station 1 (ice shelf) more than 150 cm. The power spectra revealed daily cycle, synoptic scale variability, and variability in a low-frequency band of 60–120 days at a depth of 54 cm. The snow-air heat flux was estimated from the data, resulting in negative values (from snow to air) during autumn and winter and positive values (from air to snow) in spring and summer. The physical characterization of snow stratigraphy was done during installation and retrieval of the snow stations, including density, hardness (hand test), stratigraphy, and grain size and shape.

Abstract:
Out of waiting times spent in rail stations on boarding platforms, some part can be reinvested by the trip-makers to optimize their positions of boarding and save on travel time for the rest of their trips. This paper provides a stochastic model, in which user’s journey is decomposed into phases of, successively, walking in the access station, platform positioning, waiting for boarding, train riding, and walking in the egress station. Walking speed and target position are modeled as individual factors, and in-station distances as random variables. Service timetable is exogenous. This makes egress times and exit instants random variables that are characterized by distribution and mass probability functions under closed-forms, for both single and distributed walking speeds. Specific statistical distributions are shown to ease computation. The resulting PDF formulae make likelihood functions of the model parameters. Maximum likelihood estimation is proposed and applied to a case study of commuter rail line in Paris: journeys between stations Vincennes and La Défense along line A of the Regional Express Railways. Based on data from Automated Fare Collection and Automatic Vehicle Location systems and pertaining to an individual user, satisfactory results were obtained.

Abstract:
Modern seismic networks with broadband sensors and real time digital telemetry made Moment Tensor (MT) determination a routine procedure. Automatic MT’s are now provided by global networks and a few very dense regional networks, within minutes after a significant event. An automatic MT determination wasn’t possible for the broader Hellenic area since seismic station density wasn’t sufficient. The creation of the Hellenic Unified Seismic Network (HUSN) provided the opportunity to apply an automated MT procedure using the available broad band data from almost one hundred stations. Thus the ISOLA code was extended towards the automatic operation based on Linux OS shell scripts, stand alone Fortran codes and SAC2000. Software supports both manual and automatic mode; at the first case, the user manually runs the program with the desired input parameters while at the latter, the system monitors a mailbox or RSS feed and if it receives an appropriate notification triggers the MT inversion procedure based on certain conditions. As it is setup now it calculates automatically the moment tensor of earthquakes larger than 3.5M w using data from HUSN. Application of an automated MT inversion procedure for HUSN will provide important real time information for studies like ground motion evaluation, tsunami warning etc.

Abstract:
The automatic analysing station located just downstream of the Basel urban area at Huningue, consists of an alarm station linking the automatic detection of certain important pollution parameters (T.O.C., hydrocarbons, heavy metals, pesticides, etc.). and the resulting alarms, to a working mathematical model of pollutant plume propagation, operating on the river between Basel and Strasbourg. This model is keyed to the real flow conditions of the Rhine, determined by life-size tracing operations (using coloured Rhodamine marker). A decisive factor in speeding up the transmission of alarm signals, this system allows, among other things, optimum management of the valves and locks communicating with the Rhine, in order to avoid the penetration of the pollutants into the ramifications of the hydrographic network feeding the groundwater table in Alsace. The alarm station put into service on the Rhine can look back on 10 years experience in the struggle against accidental pollutions which primarily occurred in the Paris area. There, an important alarm network consisting of eight automatic analysing stations was set up on the rivers Seine, Marne and Oise to protect the most important drinking water supply of France which provides water to more than 4 million inhabitants.

Abstract:
Impacts of macrosynoptic weather patterns on the development of the thermal excess in suburban areas of Debrecen are examined in this paper. Temperature datasets have been recorded at two heights by three automatic weather stations mounted in Debrecen (east Hungary) and a small settlement in its vicinity. An additional automatic weather station is used as a reference station outside Debrecen. Urban heat island (UHI) intensities have been calculated from the raw datasets. Impacts of synoptic conditions have been analyzed on the base of Péczely’s macrosynoptic types. It has been found that anticyclone types are more favorable from the aspect of UHI development, while cyclone types, especially the passage of warm fronts can effectively hinder the formation of strong heat islands in Debrecen.

Abstract:
Automatic unloading valve is the critical pressure control element of emulsion pump station, the unloading pressure and the recovery pressure after unloading of the pump are two important technical parameters of the emulsion pump station. The working performance of the unloading valve can be improved by research and simulation of the two parameters, making clear the state of the unloading valve for emulsion pump station when working, calculating the electromagnetic thrust when the pilot valve and main valve core act as well as the response speed of the unloading pressure, checking and correcting the original spring force. The variation range of pump station pressure can be controlled within ±0.5MPa through the effective control on the unloading pressure and recovery pressure of the automatic unloading valve for emulsion pump station, which ensures the stability, reliability and sensitivity of the pump station when working. The improvement of the automatic unloading valve technology of internal unloading type is adaptable to the development needs of high-yield and high-efficiency modern mine for high pressure and super larger flow pump station.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Temperature monitoring is an important procedure to control the composting process. Due to cost limitation, temperature monitoring is manual and with daily sampling resolution. The objective of this study was to develop an automatic station with US$ 150 dollars, able to monitor air temperature at two different points in a compost pile, with a 5-min time resolution. In the calibration test, the sensors showed an estimated uncertainty from ± 1 to ± 1.9 ºC. In the field validation test, the station guaranteed secure autonomy for seven days and endured high humidity and extreme temperature (> 70 °C).

Abstract:
The double station observation of the meteors by means of sensitive image intensifier technique started at the Ondrejov Observatory 10 years ago. The sensitivity of such instrumentation allows detection of the meteors down to masses of fractions of gram. Moreover, video technique provides us with a time resolution of the meteor events. On the other side, the precision of the video data is lower in comparison with the photographic data. We are introducing technological progress on the project—replacing of the S-VHS camcorders with gigabite, ethernet cameras and making the whole process of video observation automatic.

Abstract:
The Beijing Subway system carries about 8 million passengers per day in 2012, and the congestions caused by large passenger volume has become a major issue in transit stations especially transfer ones. In order to suppress the congestion to an acceptable level, an indicator reflecting transit station service level is urgently needed. However, previous researches mainly focus on the passenger density of certain areas, such as stairs and walking corridors. This paper aims to propose a composite indicator reflecting the service level of a whole transit station. Filed investigation of several transfer stations was conducted during peak commuting period, in order to find out the usual congestion points of each passenger flow line. According to investigation results, Platform stair, Exit AGM (Automatic Gate Machine), Platform and Corridor entrance were chosen as key nodes to reflect transit station service level. And the weight of each key node was decided by the average passenger density ratio, based on simulation experiment of SHD station. Finally, the service level of SHD station was evaluated with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.

Abstract:
The data for this research is compiled from the records of hourly rainfall between 1993 to 2014 which was generated from several. Automatic Rainfall Stations namely; Ayong-Bumbung Climatology Station, Sangkub-Huntuk climatology station, and Sangkub-Pangkusa Climatology Station. The data was then analyzed using statistical methods. Rainfall distribution pattern is based on heavy rainfall recorded by automatic rainfall measuring device. The rainfall data used here are the ones with rainfall depth of more than 50mm. All the data are then analyzed to obtain the frequency of occurrence of each of the rainfall duration. From the result of frequency analysis, it is then determined that certain rainfall duration represents the general rainfall condition in the research area. Research will show that rainfall pattern on the Northern Coast of Bolaang Mongondow, for heavy storm have a tendency of 7 hour duration, with 22% distribution for the first hour, 28% distribution for the second hour, 19% distribution for the third hour, 15% for the fourth hour, 7% for the fifth hour, 6% for the sixth hour, and 3% for the seventh hour.

Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to tackle the problem of creating an orbiting lunar station in a circular low orbit with an altitude of 100 ... 150 km. The study shows that this task should be considered not as the advantage-disadvantage ratio but as the development of a specific design solution - in a methodological design approach. Meanwhile, it is necessary to take into account the strategic importance of the orbiting lunar station for the entire process of the exploration of the Moon. The station should be created not only for manned expeditions but also for automatic spacecraft. The paper describes the methodological approaches to the design of space stations, namely the design methods which imply opportunities and tasks identification, gives examples of applying these methods, points out their shortcomings, including the lack of accounting for changes in design problems. As a result of studying the problem, we propose a design method that takes into account the dynamics of changing the tasks of the designed object, i.e. the tasks that arise during the Moon exploration. The study gives an enlarged description of the method, where the starting point is many different scenarios for the design of an object, i.e. the orbiting lunar station. Relying on the proposed method, we preliminarily designed the station and found that its design determines the design of its modules. The study substantiates the development of several standard (serial) space modules designed to perform basic functions in space flight. The combination of such modules within the framework of an open architecture allows the station to quickly adapt to new tasks and operate for an unlimited time - theoretically, without a time limit.

Abstract:
As the whole world values the energy-saving very highly, a monitoring system, which can monitor the precise heat consumption data and schedule on demand in time, is urgently needed. This paper presents a master station monitoring system of wireless heat automatic reading meter system (named as WiHeat-AMRS). It is mainly used for residential district heat-supply system whose main function is measuring heat, charging for heat, and monitoring the running status of the whole heat system. The master station monitoring system, which was designed and implemented by the author own, consists of two parts: monitoring component and back-end database. The paper focuses on the design of both monitoring component and back-end database structure. The monitoring component collects the data of each heat meter via a wireless gateway, analyzes those data, store in the database, and achieves the automated management of heat system. Meanwhile, the master station monitoring system has been put into service by our cooperative, and has gotten great reviews.

Abstract:
The train station is an important facility. However, the services provided to train passengers are still not optimal. There are still several weaknesses, including the arrival and departure processes of trains that still rely on telephone communication with other station staff. Notification of train arrival will be sent by telephone by the officer at the previous station to the destination station. On receiving notification of arrival, station staff will close the train portal. This process can have a weakness, and namely, if there is the officers' negligence, it can cause an accident. This is due to the absence of an automatic operating system on the railroad crossing portals. Because the manual system must use human labour or operators to operate and open the railroad crossing portals, so that operator error or failure of manual operation of the portal can increase the likelihood of a train accident occurring at the crossing portal, the above problems can be overcome by implementing an automatic portal closure system. With an automatic portal system, the portal will automatically close if a train passes through the crossing.

Abstract:
Assigning welding spots to stations in the design of an auto-body welding line is a tedious job and error-prone. In this paper, an automatic processing system of welding spots has been implemented on the platforms of the commercial software, CATIA and Solid Edge. The geometric feature based technology is used to recognize welding spots automatically. The corresponding station is found for each welding spot according to the order of stations and the types of welding spots automatically. The system provides other convenient functions to facilitate the processing of welding spots as well. It has been used in the design of auto-body welding lines very successfully.
