Abstract:
The following section honours our colleague, teacher, and friend, Berit Wells. The contributions were originally to be included in a Festschrift, which we wished to present to Berit on her 67th birthday. Sadly, Berit lost her battle against cancer before we could finish the volume. We thus decided to transform the Festschrift into a conference dedicated to her memory, and this event took place over two cold winter days in December 2009. For the Festschrift we had chosen two themes: religion and food production in the ancient Greek world. The interface of these very broad themes seemed to us to converge and offer an overall perspective of Berit’s research and simultaneously, they allowed colleagues from all stages of Berit’s careers to take part and contribute to the conference. The six articles included in Opuscula 2014 are a selection of the conference papers, which also included reports from the Poros excavations. Poros was Berit’s last major project and its results will be published elsewhere.

Abstract:
This article is an attempt to understand the concept berit in Psalm 74:20. Several possibilities regarding its significance and content were discussed by various biblical scholars. The vague reference to berit makes a convincing solution in this regard very difficult. A combination of allusions and motives in the Psalm which coincide with aspects of the Yahweh-David berit, strengthens the assumption that [foreign fornt omitted] (v 20) alludes to the loyalty and faithfulness of Yahweh which he promised in the berit with his servant David.

Abstract:
The concept ‘berit’ in a few Psalms of Lament: A perspective Concerning the understanding of ‘berit’, a century of research has been unable to exhaust the full dimension of possibilities which are covered by all the relevant Old Testament texts. Against the background of a defined hypothesis, an analysis was made of Psalms 25, 55, 74 and 83 with a literary-historical text approach to portray a few research results. The hypothesis reads as follows: The concept ‘berit’ portrays no uniform content and meaning within the corpus of the so-called psalms of lament and could accordingly not contribute to the debate connected to the origin, development and date of ‘berit’. The study contributes to the nature of the term as far as its variegation is illustrated for a post-exilic functioning date.

Abstract:
Large pre-trained language models such as BERT have shown their effectiveness in various natural language processing tasks. However, the huge parameter size makes them difficult to be deployed in real-time applications that require quick inference with limited resources. Existing methods compress BERT into small models while such compression is task-independent, i.e., the same compressed BERT for all different downstream tasks. Motivated by the necessity and benefits of task-oriented BERT compression, we propose a novel compression method, AdaBERT, that leverages differentiable Neural Architecture Search to automatically compress BERT into task-adaptive small models for specific tasks. We incorporate a task-oriented knowledge distillation loss to provide search hints and an efficiency-aware loss as search constraints, which enables a good trade-off between efficiency and effectiveness for task-adaptive BERT compression. We evaluate AdaBERT on several NLP tasks, and the results demonstrate that those task-adaptive compressed models are 12.7x to 29.3x faster than BERT in inference time and 11.5x to 17.0x smaller in terms of parameter size, while comparable performance is maintained.

Abstract:
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui interaksi antara sukrosa dengan BAP, terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman tembakau (Nicotiana tabacum L.) Prancak-95 secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dan 3 ulangan. Faktor I Sukrosa yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu 20 gr/l, 30 gr/l dan 40 gr/l. Faktor II BAP yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu 2 ppm, 3 ppm dan 4 ppm. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Politeknik Negeri Jember pada bulan Agustus 2018 - Desember 2018. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan DMRT taraf 5%. Parameter pengamatan meliputi kedinian kalus, berat basah kalus, tekstur kalus, kedinian tunas, berat basah tunas, tinggi tunas dan jumlah tunas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pengaruh konsentrasi sukrosa 20 gram/liter berbeda nyata tehadap parameter tinggi tunas. Pengaruh konsentrasi BAP 4 ppm berbeda nyata terhadap parameter kedinian tunas, tinggi tunas dan berat basah kalus. Selain itu pengaruh konsentrasi BAP 3 ppm berbeda nyata terhadap parameter berat basah tunas, dan jumlah tunas. Pengaruh konsentrasi sukrosa 20 gram/liter dan BAP 4 ppm berbeda nyata terhadap parameter berat basah tunas. Selain itu pengaruh konsentrasi sukrosa 30 gram/liter dan BAP 3 ppm berbeda nyata terhadap parameter jumlah tunas.

Bawang merah merupakan komoditas utama di Indonesia yang digunakan sebagai bumbu masak dan obat, sehingga ketersediaannya sepanjang tahun sangat penting untuk mencukupi kebutuhan tersebut. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan produksi benih 14 varietas bawang merah di dataran tinggi. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil bawang merah di KP. Margahayu Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran (Balitsa) Lembang (1.250 m dpl) dari bulan Agustus s.d. Oktober 2020. Materi yang digunakan berupa 14 varietas bawang merah dari Badan Penelitian dan pengembangan Pertanian (Balitbangtan), yaitu: Sembrani, Maja Cipanas, Bima Brebes, Kuning, Trisula, Mentes, Kramat 1, Violetta 1 Agrihorti, Violetta 2 Agrihorti, Violetta 3 Agrihorti, Ambassador 1 Agrihorti, Ambassador 2 Agrihorti, Ambassador 3 Agrihorti, dan Ambassador 4 Agrihorti. Pertumbuhan 14 varietas bawang merah selama penanaman cukup baik. Ambassador 3 Agrihorti menunjukkan tinggi tanaman dan panjang daun tertinggi dibanding varietas lainnya, yaitu masing-masing 41,80 cm dan 34,72 cm. Berat benih per rumpun berkisar antara 31,00-64,61 gram. Violetta 2 Agrihorti menunjukkan jumlah umbi per rumpun, berat basah per rumpun, berat kering eskip umbi per rumpun, dan berat benih per rumpun tertinggi dibanding varietas lainnya, yaitu masing-masing 9,70 umbi; 144,53 gram, 85,69 gram dan 31,59 gram. Sedangkan berat benih per plot tertinggi terdapat pada varietas Sembrani. Pertumbuhan dan produksi benih bawang merah dipengaruhi oleh varietas.

Abstract:
Biji kakao merupakan biji rekalsitran atau biji yang tidak dapat disimpan pada suhu rendah. Apabila disimpan pada suhu rendah dapat mengalami kemunduran viabilitasnya. Penyimpanan biji kakao dilakukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan bahan tanam. Untuk mengetahui kemampuan daya simpan benih kakao dilakukan dengan menguji vigor benih benih setelah disimpan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2020 sampai dengan Oktober 2020 yang bertempat di Laboratorium Teknologi Produksi Benih Politeknik Negeri Jember. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial yang terdiri atas 2 perlakuan dengan 4 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah Klon yaitu K1 = Klon ICCRI 03 : K2 = Klon MCC 01 , dan faktor kedua adalah Lama Penyimpanan (P) dengan 4 taraf yaitu P0 = Benih langsung ditanam (Kontrol) : P1 = Benih disimpan 5 hari : P2 = Benih disimpan 10 hari : P3 = Benih disimpan 15 hari. Parameter yang diamati adalah : jumlah benih yang tidak rusak dan tidak berjamur, kecepatan berkecambah, daya berkecambah, berat basah kecambah, berat kering kecambah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan klon memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap jumlah benih yang tidak rusak dan tidak berjamur saat penyimpanan, berat basah kecambah, serta berat kering kecambah. Perlakuan lama penyimpanan memiliki pengaruh berbeda sangat nyata terhadap jumlah benih yang tidak rusak dan tidak berjamur saat penyimpanan , kecepatan berkecambah, serta berat basah kecambah. Serta interaksi antara klon kakao dan lama penyimpanan memiliki pengaruh berbeda sangat nyata terhadap jumlah benih yang tidak rusak dan tidak berjamur saat penyimpanan.

Identifikasi heterosis dan heterobeltiosis pada persilangan dialel diantara galur inbrida Madura sangat dibutuhkan sebagai dasar untuk merakit varietas jagung hibrida yang sesuai untuk dikembangkan di Madura. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi kombinasi persilangan yang menunjukkan nilai heterosis dan heterobeltiosis terbaik untuk karakter kegenjahan, penunjang produksi dan produksi per hektar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Trunojoyo Madura. Bahan tanaman yang digunakan adalah 6 genotip galur inbred jagung madura (UTM 2, UTM 7, UTM 14, UTM 14, UTM 15, UTM 18, dan UTM 22), dan 30 hibrida hasil persilangan dialel penuh (full diallel cross) antar 6 genotip galur inbred. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak (RKLT) faktor tunggal, yaitu genotipe dengan tiga ulangan sehingga terdapat 108 satuan percobaan. Karakter yang diamati adalah umur berbunga, umur panen, diameter tongkol, panjang tongkol, bobot 100 biji, dan produksi per hektar. Persilangan yang menghasilkan nilai heterosis dan heterosbeltiosis terbaik untuk umur genjah adalah UTM14 x UTM18, UTM15 x UTM2 dan UTM18 x UTM2. Hasil persilangan untuk karakter diameter tongkol, panjang tongkol dan berat 100 biji sebagian besar menghasilkan nilai heterosis dan heterobeltiosis bernilai positif. Pada karakter produksi per hektar nilai heterosis dan heterobeltiosis tertinggi pada persilangan UTM2 x UTM14 (214,742%) dan UTM2 x UTM18 (171,585%).

Abstract:
Blue Mountain is a 35-minute work for two actors and orchestra. It was commissioned by the Ultima Festival, and premiered in 2014 by the Danish National Chamber Orchestra. The Ultima festival challenged me – being both a composer and writer – to make something where I wrote both text and music. Interestingly, I hadn’t really thought of that before, writing text to my own music – or music to my own text. This is a very common thing in popular music, the songwriter. But in the lied, the orchestral piece or indeed in opera, there is a strict division of labour between composer and writer. There are exceptions, most famously Wagner, who did libretto, music and staging for his operas. And 20th century composers like Olivier Messiaen, who wrote his own poems for his music – or Luciano Berio, who made a collage of such detail that it the text arguably became his own in Sinfonia. But this relationship is often a convoluted one, not often discussed in the tradition of musical analysis where text tend to be taken as a given, not subjected to the same rigorous scrutiny that is often the case with music. This exposition is an attempt to unfold this process of composing with both words and music. A key challenge has been to make the text an intrinsic part of the performance situation, and the music something more than mere accompaniment to narration. To render the words meaningless without the music and vice versa. So the question that emerged was how music and words can be not only equal partners, but also yield a new species of music/text? A second questions follows en suite, and that is what challenges the conflation of different roles – the writer and the composer – presents? I will try to address these questions through a discussion of the methods applied in Blue Mountain, the results they have yielded, and the challenges this work has posed.
