The article presents research data on the influ-ence of various agricultural practices on the growth, development and fruitfulness of shoots of the Preobrazhenie grapevine variety. We stud-ied how fertility indicators and annual growth parameters changed depending on different shoot load rates, as well as the effect of remov-ing lateral shoot and leaving them on annual growth parameters. The conducted research re-vealed: in terms of the proportion of fruit-bearing shoots, a variant with 30 shoots per bush stood out – 37% with a fruiting coefficient of 0.43 and a fruiting coefficient of 1.18. In a 3-year field study, Premier rabbiteye blueberry plants were sampled at three hierarchical levels (leaf, shoot, and bush) to assess severity of Septoria leaf spot (caused by Septoria al-bopunctata) and incidence of defoliation. A positive linear relationship (R 2 = 0.977, P < 0.0001, n = 2127) was observed between the number of spots per leaf and percent necrotic leaf area, both assessed on individual leaves in mid- to late October. For data summarized at the shoot level, percent defoliation increased nonlinearly (R 2 = 0.729, P < 0.0001, n = 224) as disease severity increased, with

Abstract:
Abstract This paper reviews the results of a corrosion study performed on the elevated section of a 70,000 ft2 (6,503 m2) reinforced concrete bus ramp. Both potential mapping and linear polarization resistance (LPR) measurements were performed over an area covering approximately 40,000 ft2 (3,716 m2). These two tools were used and compared in the process of establishing an effective method of corrosion control. The analysis shows an excellent agreement between the ASTM C 876 potential criteria and corrosion rates as measured with the LPR technique.

Based on diversity of available plant genetic resource, plant breeders can create new and improved cultivars with desirable qualities, including those favored by both farmers and breeders. However, to address upcoming global concerns relating to food and nutritional security, preserved plant genetic resources must be applied to crop enhancement. Therefore, the identification of untapped sources of genetic diversity that may be crucial for adaptation to various biotic and abiotic stresses would be made possible by the genetic and morpho-phenological characterization of landraces. The article deals with one of the most frequent imagery in Alexander Kushner’s poetry — the bush. The source of the research is the whole corpus of the poet’s lyrics — from Kushner’s first poetry collections in 1960s to his latest magazine publications. In studying the semantics of the imagery we strive to employ a complex approach, using elements of comparative historical, formal and structural methods. Among Kushner’s floral imagery (the garden, the tree, the bush) it is the bush that appears the most important and ambiguous. The article demonstrates the meaning of the imagery (as A. Ariev s

A newly-developed fatigue-testing machine for small bushes has been developed in accordance with ISO/DP7905/4, which can be used to test the fatigue strength of the bushes coated with bearing metal. The formulae of evaluating the normal stresses and displacements in two-material curved beams, in this paper, are established to determine the relationship among testing load, radial deformation of guage dia and normal stress for the bushes. The authors performed unsteady numerical simulations of virus/particle transport released from a hypothetical passenger aboard a commuter bus. The bus model was sized according to a typical city bus used to transport passengers within the city of Long Beach in California. The simulations were performed for the bus in transit and when the bus was at a bus stop opening the middle doors for 30 seconds for passenger boarding and drop off. The infected passenger was sitting in an aisle seat in the middle of the bus, releasing 1267 particles (viruses)/min. The bus ventilation system released air fro

It identifies battery electric buses charged with electricity from floating solar PV as the best option for achieving that goal; shows that, when the social cost of carbon is included, this is least cost option compared with the cost of replacing MBMs fleet with new diesel buses and with electric buses powered by Jamaicas electricity grid; and provides advice on what support is required to make thi

Essentials take up more of households’ total spending than they have in the past, with spending on essentials for low-income households increasing the most. A more essentials-heavy spending basket also left poorer families facing faster price growth in recent years. Higher energy costs, coupled with rapid food inflation, have led to hardship for many. Energy arrears more than doubled in real terms between the end of 2019 and the end of 2024 (from £1.6 billion to £3.9 billion), while the share of working-age adults in very low food security rose from 3.9 per cent to 6.0 per cent between 2021-22

Google partnered with Via to launch an on-demand microtransit called Via2G between January and March 2020. The pilot provided employees with free travel to/from two of its offices in suburban, congested Silicon Valley. Unfulfilled requests were primarily outside of pilot operating times or when rider demand exceeded driver supply.
