Abstract:

Abstract:
The background of this research is that every company must be able to make a new strategy that is right to be able to compete in the present and also in the future with other similar companies. The XYZ Institute is an institution that was established and operating since 1998. Based on data obtained in the last 4 years, the number of students enrolled at the XYZ Institute has increased and also declined erratically. Allegedly because the marketing planning segment is not yet right. The focus of this study is to identify elements within the Institute that deal directly with customers, in this case students. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, the type of research is a case study. Data collection is done by interview, observation, documentation, and questionnaire. Withusing the Businees Model Canvas (BMC) approach proposed by Osterwalder and Pigneur (2010). After the researcher identifies 9 elements in BMC, the researcher then conducts a SWOT analysis. The link between SWOT analysis and Business Model Canvas in this study is that SWOT can help identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by companies in the process of implementing nine elements of BMC. The results of the BMC identification which were then analyzed through the BMC matrix showed that the XYZ Institute needs to change the pattern of marketing business strategies they currently have and make as many connections as possible with high school / vocational / STM schools throughout Jakarta specifically.

<p>Business model canvas and business plan are prevalent and widespread tools used in entrepreneurship trainings. This study aims to compare the business model canvas and the business plan as tools used in entrepreneurship trainings through the perceptions of business school students, with a user approach. Students were given applied entrepreneurship courses, and have been taught to prepare a business plan and a business model canvas. Then students were asked questions comparing business plan and business model canvas from various aspects. 62% of the students have stated that they find it more difficult to prepare a business plan. On the other hand despite its hardship to prepare, students have stated business model's superiority to BMC on several issues. According to students' statements, compared to BMC, business plan is more clear (64.6%), more useful (60.8%), more realistic in revealing the phases of start-up (77.2%), superior in financial planning (74,7%), superior in marketing planning (67.1%), superior in costs (70.9%), superior in describing customer needs and value propositon (60.7%), superior in production planning and supply chain (68.3%). After providing these statements students were asked which system they liked preparing the most. Answers to this question could not be decisively evaluated. Percentage of positive, negative and neutral statements are very similar. Independent samples t-test was conducted to compare business plan and BMC use perceptions scoring for gender. There was not a significant difference in the scores for female and male students.</p>

Abstract:
Business actors must understand the importance of a business model in entrepreneurship; a business strategy is needed. There are several business models, but the one most often used by business actors is the Business Model Canvas or what we usually know (BMC). According to several studies, the Business Model Canvas can still be a business model that can still be developed into a more detailed business model and better mapping. Then from the Business Model Canvas, a new business model was developed, namely the Business Road Map, to win the market competition. Business Road Map is a pattern or Business Mapping Method to build a business model/business plan capable of creating growth over time. It was found that there was a significant increase in turnover after implementing the Business Roadmap. The actual Business Road Map is a development of the Business Model Canvas. Compared to other business models, the Business Road Map is considered to be much more detailed in business mapping and can also check the business's growth.

Abstract:
The fashion industry plays an important role in the growth of the national creative industry which absorbs a lot of employment. Business actors selected as samples of this study were 4 distribution stores (Distros), located on Jl Padjadjaran, Bandung. Increasingly fierce competition is a major problem, marked by declining income and profitability. The purpose of this research is to formulate a distribution business strategy using SWOT analysis and BMC. Qualitative and quantitative descriptive research approaches were used in this study. Qualitative research to identify the factors of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The results of the study found several factors from the elements of the SWOT analysis, as a basis for conducting quantitative analysis, which resulted in an aggressive strategy that had to be developed. Based on this strategy it is formulated in the form of a business model canvas. The distros business needs to be developed more aggressively in terms of Customer Segment, value proposition, channels, and customer relationships so that company revenue can increase. Companies also need to emphasize the development of the aspects of key business activities, key partners and the effectiveness of utilizing key resources so that the company can carry out cost efficiency. The finding of this study is that BMC can be used to describe briefly but completely as an effort to formulate a strategy for the results of SWOT analysis.

Abstract:
Interest for business models and business modeling has increased rapidly since the mid-1990‘s and there are numerous approaches used to create business models. The business model concept has many definitions which can lead to confusion and slower progress in the research and development of business models. A business model ontology (BMO) was created in 2004 where the business model concept was conceptualized based on an analysis of existing literature. A few years later the Business Model Canvas (BMC) was published; a popular business modeling approach providing a high-level, semi-formal approach to create and communicate business models. While this approach is easy to use, the informality and high-level approach can cause ambiguity and it has limited computer-aided support available. In order to propose a solution to address this problem and facilitate the development and communication of Business Model Canvas models, two artifacts are created, demonstrated and evaluated; a structured metamodel for the Business Model Canvas and its implementation in an OMG standards-based modeling tool to provide tool support for BMC modeling. This research is carried out following the design science approach where the artifacts are created to better understand and improve the identified problem. The problem and its background are explicated and the planned artifacts and requirements are outlined. The design and development of the artifacts are detailed and the resulting BMC metamodel is presented as a class diagram in Unified Modeling Language (UML) and implemented to provide tool support for BMC modeling. A demonstration with a business model and an evaluation is performed with expert interviews and informed arguments. The creation of a BMC metamodel exposed some ambiguity in the definition and use of the Business Model Canvas and the importance of graphical presentation and flexibility in the tools used. The evaluation of the resulting artifacts suggests that the artifacts do facilitate the development and communication of the Business Model Canvas models by improving the encapsulation and communication of information in a standardized way and thereby the goals of the research are met.

Abstract:
The European health care is facing challenges with an increasing ageing population, with a higher frequency of chronic diseases, which have resulted in rising health care costs. Meanwhile, the trend shows how patients and citizens are becoming more active in their personal health care, with the number of existing doctors and nurses subsiding furthermore entailing problems. The area of eHealth, which involves information and communication technologies with health care, is hence seen as a partial long-term solution and is considered being a rapidly growing market both in Sweden, but also in Europe. eHealth services further consider to promote increased access, mobility and interoperability in the health care, but the lack of wholehearted commitment, financial support and complex EHR-systems in Sweden's municipalities and county councils might partially impeding down the development. The purpose of this report is therefore targeting to explore, identify and analyze prominent aspects for the continued development of the Swedish health care and eHealth services. The study also examines what subsequent benefits an implementation of an eHealth service entails, which also has been related to the identified prominent aspects. This master thesis is based on a thorough literature review extracted from a theoretical framework including an interoperability-, security-, mobility- and business-modeling perspective, which are used as a foundation for the building of a set of hypotheses, which are subsequently verified with the aid of gathered empirics. The empirics are obtained from 10 semi-structured qualitative interviews, as well as two case studies, which together resulted in key-findings and conclusions. Firstly, in relation to the interoperability perspective, it became clear how there should exist both a technical and social interoperability that communicate with each other. The EHR-systems of today are often considered difficult to learn, non-intuitive and lacking interfaces that are user-friendly designed for the end-user. Increased interoperability was also seen as enabling and simplifying the access to the patient’s medical history, which the EHR-system TakeCare evidently demonstrated. Furthermore, it was acknowledged how there is no correlation between the increased time spent by health care professionals with administrative tasks and documentation with an increased interoperability. It also emerged that patients and the dominant part of the population had either no or very limited knowledge regarding the underlying security and overall management of personal health information in health care. Patients instead often blindly trust the Swedish health care system being secure, and prioritizing other things during medical appointments. The knowledge of security issues in the health care is predicted to increase among patients if they in the future would obtain full access to their own medical records. There is also a general opinion among health care professionals and related instances how new security risks will arise alongside the eHealth wave, with a particular concern for the increasing involvement of mobile devices. Relationships between an increased interoperability also seem to favor increased mobility in health care, but security aspects often prevent the mobility development. Finally, it was unanimously espoused how non-financial values must not be ignored, where the on-going debate argues whether what real impact these non-financial values have, where inter alia strict budgets and large gaps between the decision-makers and end-users appeared as issues. Similar arguments were encountered regarding the actual impact of the opinions of patients in relation to business modeling, where a tripartite-problem and the patients’ limited access to their medical records was partly seen as a primary issue. Secondly, the case studies demonstrated how a transition to the EHR-system TakeCare generally did result in cost- and resource savings in terms of local servers, IT-maintenance and inventory management. The TakeCare implementation also led to an increased visibility among health care centers by enabling and simplifying the access to patient medical history. Increased communication, awareness, and more effective internal processes due to integrated modules and direct connections to ePrescriptions could also be accessed from the TakeCare transition. Finally, it emerged that relations existed between simplified access to the patient’s medical history and how it subsequently resulted in an increased interoperability. A correlation was also seen as the health care become generally more mobile due to increased interoperability.
Samband kunde även ses hur ökad interoperabilitet positivt gynnar mobiliteten i sjukvården.

Abstract:
A mechanical industry company’s need for an effective and suitable business model is higher than ever before due to new emerging technologies, especially within digitalization and Industry 4.0. As the Internet of Things (IoT) trend is emerging, companies need to identify new value propositions and adapt their offerings and revenue models in order to meet the customers’ new demands. The current amount of studies that have been conducted in the area of new business models and product offerings with regards to the IoT technology are limited. Therefore, this study has examined and analyzed how a new business model should be designed and what kind of new product offerings a company in the mechanical industry should offer in the area of IoT and servitization. The literature study contains information about Industry 4.0, Internet of Things and Servitization while the theory study addresses theories regarding the business model canvas together with the KANO model. The study has been executed by conducting eleven semi-structured interviews, where nine of the interviewees were employees at our commissioner and the remaining two were customers of our commissioner. The internal interviews were held with executives and managers who represented eight different divisions as well as three different nationalities. The customer interviewees represented two different companies with different sizes and ownership structures. The results of the study indicate that the IoT technology contributes to several new possible product and service offerings, together with new revenue streams, as well as a need for implementing a new servitized business model. Conclusively, offerings such as predictive maintenance, remote assistance, and machine optimization among others, can be offered to the customers with the help of the IoT technology. Furthermore, new payment models such as upfront payments together with a service agreement with monthly payments, are vital parts of a new business model that has to be implemented. In addition, a closer customer relationship is required when moving towards servitization in the area of digitalization and IoT.

Abstract:
Chinese traditional garment enterprises not only have to face inventory and channel problems left over by history, but also encounter the influx of new online companies into the market, resulting in a significant decline in the turnover of the traditional garment industry. With the promotion of e-commerce, the economic development of the garment industry presents a new trend. In order to find new opportunities in the environment of increasingly fierce competition, traditional garment enterprises have embarked on the road of strategic transformation. This study takes a garment company DLD as the research subject and displays the primary information through the Business Model Canvas. A case study, therefore, is the research strategy applied in this study, and data are collected through interviews and questionnaires. The primary method of analyzing data is a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis. The purpose of this study is to provide a useful reference for the enterprise in the transformation of e-commerce. SWOT analysis is conducted under the background information based on the Business Model Canvas, which demonstrates the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats encountered in the transformation process of its sales channel from offline to online. Combined with the Enterprise Modeling, this study summarizes the strategic transformation of the DLD company and proposes corresponding strategies and recommendations. Implementing the O2O e-commerce mode and the C2B business mode effectively reduces the product backlog and improves the company's competitiveness in the market. In the process of implementing these two modes, establishing a consumer database, unifying product prices, and establishing online and offline coordination teams are some practical methods for adjusting conflicts between sales channels and increasing product update rates. Besides, through the questionnaire, the recommendations proposed in this study are evaluated, two of which required further investigation and design.

Abstract:
The well arranged and instructivee business plan is the basic part of every business project.. Currently is very often used the lean canvas model of the business plan. This model shows us very istructively all the factors influencing the project realisation. The dissertation is divided into the two basic parts. Abstract:

Öhrlund, Jack, and Catrin Östman. "DIGITALIZATION IS HEATING UP THE BUSINESS MODEL : A degree project regarding the impact of digitalization on a business model canvas within district heating." Abstract:
The purpose of this degree project is to analyze and investigate how digitalization will affect business modeling in the district heating business. The chosen approach to this degree project was an iterative, abductive method, in order to always use a feedback-analysis and to keep the project open for new findings. The interviews were a mix of a structured method and a qualitative approach. With the structured method, the findings from the interviews were similar and regarding the research topic, and the qualitative approach in some open questions led to matters that otherwise would have been unnoticed. The interviews were performed via e-mail, phone and through personal interviews. This degree project concluded that digitalization has an impact on business modeling in district heating. Digitalization will affect some elements in a major way, for example key resources that will be characterized by digitalization. The findings from this work showed that a business model operating in district heating in a time of digitalization should focus on three main parts: economy, environment and easy visualization. An optimization tool should focus on delivering a value that consist of these three, and the remaining elements should together contribute to that value proposition.

Abstract:
The Business Model Canvas is a strategic tool that uses visual language to create and develop high-value innovative business models. The goal of this lesson is to give a clear and precise definition of BMC and see how this concept can fit into the world of SPA. In this sense, in the previous months the 3 farmers have developed, with the help of external collaborators, their BMC, visually representing the process of creating, distributing and capturing value for their customers. The results are presented as "good practices". The BMC is completed with the presentation of the "external forces framework" . Furthermore, one slide presents the difference between BMC and Business Plan.
