AbstractThe article discussed the issue of the diagnosis with the use of task-support-task procedure. A theoretical model of diagnosis based on the concepts by L. S. Vygotski, R. Case, and A. Bandura was described and developed. The model was tested on a group of non-disabled preschool children, and children with mild and moderate intellectual disability who were paired up accordingly to their mental age. Each pair was given a set of developmentally adapted tasks. The tool (44 tasks) was reliable and valid. The task-support-task procedure significantly affected the level of the task performanc

Intellectual disability children with hearing loss, due to limitations in intellectual and hearing functions, had difficulty understanding geometric shapes. Therefore, an effective learning model was needed to teach these concepts. This study aimed to introduce geometric shapes (circles, squares, and triangles) to intellectual disability children with hearing loss. The hypothesis proposed was that using Gagne’s model would affect the ability to recognize geometric shapes, specifically circles, squares, and triangles, in intellectual disability children with hearing loss. Background and Aims Intellectual disability manifests through defects in cognitive, motor, and perceptual skills as elements affecting learning and acquiring individual skills. Efforts to improve these skills are essential in these children. This study investigated the durable effects of perceptual-motor process-oriented interventions with the Ramon and Johnston protocol on the motor, cognitive, and perceptual performance of children with mild intellectual disability. Children with intellectual disabilities experience difficulties in understanding academics, adapting to their environment, and taking care of themselves. The ability to take care of oneself, which is also called adaptive life skills, is a top priority in an effort to teach children to achieve independence in taking care of themselves. It is hoped that children will be able to take care of themselves until they are completely independent without the help of others.
